ON FRIDAY, MARCH 31ST, 2017 I WAS DOING 65 MPH ON A FREEWAY WHEN I FELT A JOLT FROM THE VEHICLE, ALL ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND I LOST ALL THROTTLE POWER TO THE ENGINE VIA THE GAS PEDAL, I WAS LEFT TO HELPLESSLY COAST TO A STOP OVER ON THE SHOULDER. I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE THE RESTARTED AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE OFF, THEN ABOUT 2 MILES LATER AT 35 MPH THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. I SWITCHED OFF AND RESTARTED AND WAS THEN ABLE TO DRIVE THE 30 MILES BACK HOME. GIVEN THE SERIOUSNESS AND POTENTIALLY LETHAL CONSEQUENCES OF THIS I DEMAND FORD ISSUE A RECALL AND HAVE THIS PROBLEM PROPERLY SEEN TO. I ALREADY HAVE THE MATTER IN THE HANDS OF MY ATTORNEY AND WILL, AT THE VERY LEAST, BE BRINGING AN ACTION AGAINST THEM UNDER THE NYS LEMON LAWS. IT'S BARELY 7 MONTHS OLD WITH ABOUT 7,000 MILES ON THE CLOCK AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED THIS VEHICLE IS A TOTAL LIABILITY AND UNFIT FOR PURPOSE AND SERIOUS ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN BY FORD, FIRSTLY TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT AS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THEN SECONDLY INSTIGATING A RECALL TO EFFECTIVELY CORRECT THE PROBLEM BY UPGRADING AND FIXING THE PART AT FAULT.
IN NOVEMBER 2016 JUST 8 MONTHS AFTER OUR TRUCK WAS PURCHASED MY HUSBAND WAS TRYING TO STOP AT A RED LIGHTIN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND DI'D NOT STOP, THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK. LUCKILY THERE WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT OR INJURY THIS TIME. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FORD IN GRAPEVINE AND THEY TOLD US THE MASTER CYLINDER IN THE. TAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED SO THEY REPLACED IT. 3 MONTHS LATER IN MARCH 2017 MY HUSBAND WAS IN TRAFFIC TURNING AT A LIGHT TO MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY, TRAFFIC CAME TO A STOP AND HE TRIED TO STOP AND AGAIN THE BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE GROUND AND THEY DIDN'T WORK NOR DID THEY STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS TIME HE REAR ENDED A LADY IN AN SUV. HE SAID HE HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO STOP AND WAS LUCKILY GOING AT A REDUCED SPEED BUT STILL WAS UNABLE TO STOP OR SLOW BEFORE COLLIDING WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE DUE TO BRAKE MALFUNCTION. THE TRUCK IS NOW AT GRAPEVINE FORD AGAIN AND WE HAVE YET BEEN TOLD WHAT THE ISSUE WAS. BOTH TIMES THESE INCIDENTS OCCURRED THERE WAS NO WARNING, NO LIGHTS, NOTHING THAT WE NOTICED THAT COULD INDICATE AN ISSUE. WE HAVE HAD TONS OF OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS TRUCK, DRIVERS SIDE SEATBELT BROKE, AIR CONDITIONING UNIT BROKE, SKYLINK SYSTEM SHORTED AND BRAKE FAILURE. WE HAVE BEEN REFUSED A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE BY FORD AND ARE CURRENTLY DEALING WITH LAWYERS BUT THAT COULD TAKE 3 MORE MONTHS. I AM FURIOUS THAT NO CONSIDERATION HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME AND MY FAMILY OVER THESE ISSUES. HAVE THEY FIXED OUR VEHICLE? SURE, BUT I AM TERRIFIED TO PUT MY BABIES IN THIS TRUCK EVER AGAIN NO MATTER FIXED OR NOT. THE NEXT TIME WE MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY AND I CAN NOT TAKE THAT CHANCE. THIS IS A WORK AND FAMILY VEHICLE AND OUR WORK/FINANCES HAVE BEEN SEVERELY COMPROMISED AS WE PAY A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS TRUCK. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH FORD AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEIR PRODUCT AND HOPE THIS MAY HELP GET OUR ISSUES RESOLVED.
FIRST ALL THE STEERING WHEELS CONTROLS (INCLUDING TURN SIGNALS) DIDN'T WORK. THE NEXT TIME I STARTED THE TRUCK EVERYTHING WORKED AGAIN. THE FOLLOWING WEEK I TOOK THE TRUCK INTO LOCAL DEALER TO DETERMINE CAUSE. THEY SAID THERE COMMUNICATION ERRORS BUT DID SOME RE-PROGRAMMING. DROVE TRUCK HOME AND WHEN I TURNED INTO MY DRIVEWAY I RECEIVED A MESSAGE THE PARKING BRAKE HAD AN ERROR. TOOK IT BACK TO SAME DEALER AND THEY KEPT IT TWO DAYS AND COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM.
2016 F150 CREW CAB LARIAT, DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH FAILED TO UNLATCH WITH FOB OR WITH NUMBER PAD FROM THE OUTSIDE. WAS ONLY ABLE TO UNLOCK DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. IT IS INTERMITTENT AND DEPENDS ON THE TEMPERATURE AND SEEMS TO HAPPEN IF MOISTURE IS PRESENT. APPROXIMATELY 4800 MILES ON F150. THIS LATCH PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE QUITE COMMON WITH OTHER NEW F150'S. FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM.
HILL ASSIST AND AUTOTRAC MALFUNCTION. 2016 FORD F-150, LESS THAN 8,000 MILES. WARNING INDICATOR SUDDENLY COMES ON AND VEHICLE LOSES ALL POWER GOING FROM HIGHWAY SPEED TO 2MPH IN SECONDS WITHOUT WARNING. HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN TWO WEEKS ON STRAIGHT, LEVEL ROAD, DRY AND CLEAR CONDITIONS. ONE TIME WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65MPH, OTHERS WERE CITY ROADS AROUND 25-35MPH. ONE TIME WAS AFTER A NORMAL RIGHT TURN, OTHERS JUST RANDOMLY WHILE TRAVELING STRAIGHT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY BUT RESEARCHING ONLINE, THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH F-150S. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL CONSIDERING THE DANGER POSED FROM A VEHICLE THAT SUDDENLY LOSES POWER AND DECELERATES WITHOUT WARNING. I ALSO READ ANOTHER ACCOUNT WHERE REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE SO IT REMAINS TO BE SEEN IF THIS FIX WORKS ON MY VEHICLE.
I ARRIVED AT A FRIENDS HOUSE WITH NO ISSUES. SHORTLY AFTER, I WENT TO START MY VEHICLE AND WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE TO HIT THE START BUTTON, THE BRAKE PEDDLE WENT TO THE FLOOR BOARD AS IF THERE WAS NO PRESSURE. AT THAT POINT BRAKE / FLUID LIGHT CAME ON. I OPENED THE HOOD AND CHECK THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND IT WAS EMPTY. NEXT DAY I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER.
ONGOING ISSUE WITH DOOR LATCHES NOT OPERATING WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW FREEZING. THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH UNLESS THE DOOR IS LOCKED. IT SEEMS IT THEN IS UNABLE TO BE UNLOCKED REMOTELY OR BY POWER LOCKS. ONLY WAY IS TO MANUALLY OPEN THE DOOR FROM INSIDE THE CAB. I HAVE A SAFETY CONCERN OFN THIS ISSUE AS THE DOOR NOT LATCHING MAY OPEN WHILE IN MOTION.
TAKATA RECALL THE ENGINE BLEW UP AFTER 3,400. SUCKED ALL THE OIL IN THE EXHAUST WHILE IT WAS IDLING IN DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT. CALLED ME UP TOLD MY ENGINE BLEW UP ON THEM. THERE IS 6 MONTH RUN OF BAD ENGINE AND FORD KNOWLY SOLD ME A TRUCK MADE DURING THOSE DATES.
IN ABOUT JANUARY OF 2017, WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY, MY TRUCK STARTED EXPERIENCING IRREGULAR FUNCTION OF THE SYNC III SYSTEM. IN ABOUT MARCH OF 2017 THE SYSTEM STOPPED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AT ANY TIME. AT THAT TIME IT HAD ABOUT 37,000 MILES ON IT. BY THE TIME I COULD GET IT TO THE FORD DEALER IT HAD ABOUT 39,000 MILES. FORD DENIED ANY OBLIGATION TO REPAIR. SOME OF THE MAJOR REASONS I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WERE TO ABILITIES OF THE SYNC III SYSTEM SUCH AS: (1) THE GPS MAP SYSTEM AND THE ABILITY TO INPUT DESTINATIONS AND RECEIVE DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS, (2) THE HANDS FREE BLUE TOOTH TELEPHONE CONNECTIONS, (3) THE BACKUP CAMERA, AND THE TOUCH SCREEN MENU. ALL OF THESE WERE IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURES. NONE OF THEM WORK AND FORD WANTED $1,500.00 TO REPLACE THE "APIM" MODULE, WHICH PURPORTEDLY WOULD MAKE IT WORK AGAIN. IN ADDITION, WHILE BACKING IN TO A PARKING PLACE, IN ABOUT NOVEMBER OF 2017, I COULD NOT SEE A POLE SET IN CONCRETE BECAUSE OF MALFUNCTION OF THE CAMERA, AND BACKED INTO IT, DAMAGING MY BUMPER TO THE TUNE OF ABOUT $1,200.00 REPLACEMENT COST. WORSE YET, THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A CHILD OR OTHER PERSON. OCCASIONALLY THE BACKUP CAMERA WORKS, BUT STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET.
ENGINE STALLS AND/OR DIES WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE ON A NEW 2016 F-150. DURING NORMAL DRIVING, THE TRUCK MECHANICALLY SHUTS DOWN CAUSING A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD TO ME AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON IF YOU SEARCH ONLINE! THE FORD REPAIR SHOP CANNOT IDENTIFY THE ISSUE, THEY SAY.
FORD HAS A MAJOR RECALL ON 2016 - 2017 F150S FAULTY DOOR LATCHES THAT COME OPEN WHILE DRIVING AND WONT OPEN . I HAD A INCIDENT BACK IN WINTER WHERE MY NEPHEW ALMOST FELL OUT . CONTACTED SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS TOLD FORD HAS NO FIX OR PARTS AT THIS TIME . THEN MAJOR RECALL CAME ON TV CALLED SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS TOLD SAME THING NO FIX . SENT CERTIFIED LETTER TOO FORD CORPORATION AS INSTRUCTIONS FOR OHIO LEMON LAWS AS MY TRUCK WAS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD WITH LESS THAN 18000 MILES AND FALLS UNDER OHIO LEMON LAW. WAS CONTACTED TODAY 11/1/17 BY FORD CORPORATION AND WAS TOLD TOO CONTACT LOCAL FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT I ONCE AGAIN EXPLAINED THEY HAVE NO FIX & NO PARTS WAS TOLD BASICALLY SORRY ABOUT YOUR LUCK.THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE ESPECIALLY WITH WINTER APPROACHING .IF DOOR LATCHES COME OPEN SOMEONE COULD FALL OUT RESULTING IN DEATH.EVEN FORD CORPORATION ADMITS THIS IS UNSAFE AND ALSO SAID THERE IS NO FIX ._. THIS NEW 2016 FORD F150 WITH 1300 MILES ON IT AS A VIBRATION AT 40 TO 58 MILES PER HR BEEN TO THREE DEALER NO FIX EVER DROVE 2017 THE SAME THING NEED RECALL TO FIX OR FORD NEEDS TO GIVE MONEY BACK.
MY 2016 F-150 IS NOT UNLOCKING/LOCKING THE DOORS IN COLDER TEMPERATURES (BELOW 32*F). SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE HAD TO WAIT TO REMOTE START AND WARM THE TRUCK UP BEFORE THE DOOR LOCKS ARE OPERABLE. I HAD A TSB PERFORMED BY MY DEALER UNDER WARRANTY, AND THE VERY NEXT DAY (THE TEMPERATURE WAS 10*F) I CANNOT GET INTO MY TRUCK BECAUSE THE DOOR LOCKS ARE FROZEN AND INOPERABLE. I CAN NOT GET INTO MY VEHICLE UNTIL THE LOCKS WARM UP AND WORK, SOMETIMES THIS TAKES UP TO 30 MINUTES OF THE VEHICLE RUNNING USING THE REMOTE START. THIS USUALLY WORKS FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, HOWEVER THE OTHER THREE DOORS (SUPER CREW) STILL DO NOT WORK UNTIL THE TEMPERATURE WARMS UP.
Water gets into the truck from the front windshield. The water is leaking or getting into the cab of the truck on the passenger side of the truck. I have talked to an auto windshield replacement company about this issue, and I was told that it is a known issue with the 2016 to 2025 Ford trucks. I was told that the leak is happening because of the body seam sealant from the Ford factory was not properly done. Some of the trucks are showing up with larger than normal gaps in the panels. This has been happening for the life of the vehicle.

THE DEALER REPLACED THE SENSOR IN THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,500.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150 SUPER CAB. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR OPENED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRACTURED PAWL SPRINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
DOORS WONT LATCH WHEN TEMPERATURE IS UNDER 20 DEGREES.

LATER IN THE DAY, THE INDICATOR WENT AWAY. (3)ON WEDNESDAY, FEB. 8, 2017, THE ELECTRIC ERROR MESSAGES REAPPEARED. I CALLED THE FORD SERVICE HOTLINE IN THE MORNING AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO A QUALIFIED FORD SERVICE SHOP. (4)LATER IN THE DAY ON 2/8/17 (AROUND LUNCH) ' I TOOK THE TRUCK TO FORD SERVICE SHOP. AT THAT TIME, THE SERVICE TECH PERFORMED A 'FACTORY-RESET' (HIS TERM) OF THE BATTERY. AFTER PERFORMING THE RESET ' I WAS CLEARED TO LEAVE DEALER AND I LEFT THE SERVICE AREA. (5)I THEN EXITED THE SERVICE COMPOUND. AFTER LEAVING THE SERVICE SHOP, MY TRUCK SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO JUMP THE TRUCK WITH A JUMP BOX, THE TRUCK WAS TOWED BACK TO FORD DEALERSHIP FOR ANOTHER SERVICE. MY TRUCK WAS KEPT FOR SEVERAL DAYS FOR FURTHER SERVICE. (6)ON FRIDAY, MARCH 3, 2017, THE ELECTRIC WARNINGS MANIFESTED AGAIN. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE TRUCK TO FORD FOR SERVICE. UPON ARRIVING AT SERVICE STATION, THE WARNING LIGHTS HAD TURNED OFF. THE SERVICE TECH TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO TRIGGER THE ERROR, BUT IT DID NOT COME BACK ON. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO LEAVE AND COME BACK WHEN THEY CAME BACK ON. I LEFT THE SERVICE AREA. (7)A SHORT TIME LATER, THE WARNINGS CAME BACK ON AND I RETURNED TO THE SERVICE CENTER. THIS TIME THE WARNING LIGHTS REMAINED ON AND MY TRUCK WAS IMMEDIATELY TAKEN FOR SERVICE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO RESPOND WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE POWER BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONLY THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,096.
ON 5 SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE DASH DISPLAY STOPPED WORKING. RADIO/CD PLAYER/BACKUP CAMERA WOULD NOT WORK AT ALL. THE MAIN CONCERN IS BACKING UP AT NIGHT IN A CROWDED PARKING LOT WITH THE BACK OF MY TRUCK LOADED FOR A 9 DAY CAMPING TRIP. I CAN NOT SEE OUT ANY OF THE CAMPER SHELL WINDOWS AT ALL. I COULD HIT A PARKED VEHICLE OR A PEDESTRIAN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 SEPARATE TIMES.
17 F DEGREES AND MY DOOR LATCH WOULD NOT HOLD / KEEP THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR CLOSED.AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO CLOSE THE DOOR I HELD IT SHUT AND DROVE IT TO WORK.AFTER THE VEHICLE WARMED UP THE LATCH STARTED TO WORK OR APPEARED TO. THE DOOR LOCKS AND LATCHES HAVE ISSUES WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW FREEZING. GETTING IN THE TRUCK IS QUESTIONABLE BUT THE DRIVERS DOOR NOT LATCHING WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE SOMEONE FALL OUT OF THE VEHICLE OR CAUSE AN ACCIDENT TRYING TO DRIVE WITH ONE HAND WHILE HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED WITH THE OTHER. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A COMMON ISSUE FROM MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON INTERNET FORUMS AND FORD IS SLOW OR NOT REALLY RESPONDING QUICKLY TO THE PROBLEM. THIS IS NOT A ISSUE IN WARM WEATHER STATES BUT IN OHIO ITS A REAL ISSUE.
DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH LOST ENGINE SPEED SUDDENLY TO ABOUT 10 MPH. HAVE BEEN TOLD BY 2 OTHERS THAT THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO THEM. SAME TRUCK MODEL. ROOT CAUSE GIVEN WAS THROTTLE BODY CABLE. ACCELARATOR BOX. HAVING OURS TOWED TO DEALER SHIP TODAY. UNDER 10,000 MILES ON VEHICLE.
RED SURFACE RUST ON REAR AXLE.
SUPERCREW REAR DOOR LOCKS FAIL TO ELECTRONICALLY UNLOCK (OR LOCK) IN FREEZING TEMPERTURES. GETTING INTO THE VEHICHLE REQUIRES CLIMBING INTO THE BACK SEAT FROM THE FRONT AND MANUALLY CYCLING THE DOOR LOCK. HOWEVER THIS DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM; THE ELECTRONIC FOB AND INTERIOR BUTTTONS STILL FAIL TO ACTUATE THE LOCKING MECHNAISM UNTIL WARMER TEMPERATRES RETURN. IN ADDITION TO DAILEY INCONVENIENCE THIS SENARIO RAISES MORE SERIOUS CONCERNS SUCH AS: LACK OF ACCESS TO PASSENGERS IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, INABILITY TO SECURE (LOCK) THE VEHICLE CONFIEDENTLY, POTENTIAL TO BE LOCKED OUT OF THE VEHICLE IN EXTREME COLD AND OTHER UNFORESEEN SAFTEY CONCERNS.

MOISTURE IN HEADLIGHTS . MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT.
I AGREED TO PURCHASE THIS F150 ON 1/27/2016 BUT REQUESTED THAT THE MUSHY BRAKES BE REPAIRED FIRST (PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR). WENT BACK TO DEALER 1/27 TO COMPLETE PAPERWORK AND PICK UP REPAIRED TRUCK. WAS TOLD THAT THE TRUCK WAS CHECKED BY THE SERVICE DEPT. AND THAT BRAKES WERE NORMAL. I COMPLETED THE PAPERWORK BUT LEFT THE TRUCK THERE TO BE CHECKED BY THE SERVICE DEPT. AGAIN THE NEXT MORNING. I GOT A PHONE CALL THE NEXT MORNING SAYING THE BRAKES HAD BEEN FIXED AND THE TRUCK WAS READY FOR PICKUP. WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP I WENT TO THE TRUCK AND PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WENT TO THE FLOOR. I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAD BEEN CHECKED BY FOUR SERVICE TECHS AND ALL AGREED THAT THE BRAKES WERE FINE. THEY ALSO GAVE ME A SERVICE REPORT SAYING THE BRAKE OPERATION WAS NORMAL. I TOOK THE TRUCK HOME THAT AFTERNOON SINCE IT DIDN'T APPEAR THAT THIS SERVICE DEPT WAS NOT QUALIFIED . ON 1/31 I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A DIFFERENT DEALER. THEY SAID THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS BY-PASSING AND ORDERED A NEW ONE. IT CAME IN THE NEXT DAY AND I TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR REPAIR. AFTER THE TRUCK WAS "REPAIRED" I GOT IN THE TRUCK TO HEAD BACK HOME. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I WENT BACK IN AND REPORTED THAT IT WAS THE SAME AS BEFORE. AFTER DISCUSSIONS, THE SERVICE DEPT GOT A NEW TRUCK OFF OF THE SALES LOT AND SHOWED ME THAT THIS BREAK PEDAL ALSO WENT TO THE FLOOR, SO THIS PEDAL OPERATION WAS NORMAL. I TOOK MY TRUCK AND RETURNED HOME. NOW I HAVE A VERY EXPENSIVE TRUCK THAT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE. AFTER AN INTERNET SEARCH FOR MUSHY BRAKES I FIND THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I CALLED MYFORD AND TOLD THERE WERE NO OTHER REPORTS ON THIS. THEY SUGGESTED TAKING THE TRUCK TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. THIS THIRD DEALER SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO KEEP THE TRUCK FOR 5 DAYS BEFORE THEY COULD EVEN LOOK AT IT. I DID NOT LEAVE IT. MYFORD THEN SUGGESTED A 4TH DEALER. HAVEN'T BEEN THERE YET.
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 20 MPH THROUGH A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD, VEHICLE LURCHED AND JERKED WITH A LARGE THUD. THUD WAS ENGINE FAILING DUE TO NO OIL PRESSURE - OIL NOT GETTING TO ENGINE. LIMPED HOME, CAR NOT ABLE TO GO MORE THAN 30 MPH TO DRIVE TO DEALERSHIP. NOT SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS. HAD WE BEEN ON HIGHWAY, MUCH BIGGER ISSUE COULD HAVE OCCURRED - WE WERE ABLE TO STOP SAFELY AS WE WERE IN OUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD. FORD IS REPLACING ENGINE BUT [XXX] (SERVICE MANAGER AT WALKER FORD, CLEARWATER FLORIDA) HAS TOLD US THIS IS THE FOURTH 2016 F150 THAT HAS COME BACK TO THEIR DEALERSHIP FOR A FULL ENGINE REPLACEMENT, AND DECISION WAS MADE TO CONTINUE SELLING BECAUSE PERCENTAGE OF AFFECTED VEHICLES IS A GAMBLE. WE BOUGHT TRUCK 1/2/17, ENGINE FAILURE OCCURRED 1/26/17 AT ODOMETER READING OF 844 MILES. DEALERSHIP IN POSSESSION OF TRUCK SINCE 1/27/17. ON 1/25/16, IN THE RAIN, AT 6 AM, I PULLED OUT FROM A SIDE STREET NEAR MY RESIDENCE ON TO A MAJOR ROAD AND WAS INCREASING SPEED. I TRAVELED ABOUT 150 YARDS AND WAS UP TO ABOUT 40 MPH. MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DECELERATED TO ABOUT 5 MPH VERY QUICKLY CAUSING MY CAR TO SKID IN THE RAIN. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT SINCE TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT AT THE TIME, SO I PULLED INTO THE MEDIAN AND PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND I COULD NOT DISCOVER ANYTHING WRONG. I THEN PUT THE TRUCK IN GEAR AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN BUT THE CAR WOULD SPEED UP TO ABOUT 15 MPH AND THEN DECELERATE VERY QUICKLY, ALMOST GIVING IT A BUCKING MOTION. AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE TRUCK SEEMED TO WANT TO DIE, IT WOULD MOVE AND THEN SEEM TO WANT TO STOP AND DIE, AND THEN REPEAT THE PROCESS. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PARK IN A PARKING LOT. I HAD MY TRUCK TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER LOOKED AT IT BUT SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND HAD NEVER HEARD OF THAT HAPPENING TO ANYONE BEFORE. I LOOKED ON THE NHTSA SITE AND FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE HAD HAD THIS OCCUR IN THIS MODEL. THE WORK ORDER RECEIVED FROM THE DEALER DID NOT INDICATE THAT ANYTHING WAS ADJUSTED OR REPLACED. TO DATE IT HAS NOT REOCCURRED.

DOOR LOCKS MAY NOT FUNCTION IN SUB FREEZING WEATHER MEANING YOUR DOORS MAY NOT LOCK OR YOU MAY BE TRAPPED INSIDE AS THEY WILL NOT UNLOCK
DRIVER SIDE DOOR FAILS TO LATCH WHEN CLOSED, OR UNLATCH WHEN OPENED USING THE ELECTRIC LOCKS IN COLD WEATHER (BELOW 30 DEGREES F). IF UNLOCKED, THE DOOR FAILS TO LATCH AND BOUNCES BACK WHEN CLOSED. IF LOCKED, THE DOOR FAILS TO UNLATCH AND CANNOT BE OPENED. THESE OCCUR EVEN THOUGH THE ELECTRIC LOCKS SOUND LIKE THEY'RE FUNCTIONING NORMALLY. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND COLD. THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT SEEM TO REOCCUR AFTER THE CABIN WARMS UP. IT HAS HAPPENED ON APPROXIMATELY FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO DATE, INCLUDING THE MOST RECENT WHICH WAS 24 HOURS AFTER THE DEALER SERVICE TECHNICIAN LUBRICATED THE LATCHES.
DRIVERS SIDE FRONT DOOR WILL NOT LATCH WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. ALSO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH PASSENGERS SIDE REAR DOOR. EVEN AFTER SHUTTING DOOR HARD IT WILL NOT LATCH. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS BELOW FREEZING.
IN TEMPERATURES BELOW 20 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, THE DOOR LATCHES (FRONT & REAR) WILL FREEZE IN THE UNLATCHED POSITION WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LATCH THE DOOR CLOSED UNTIL THAWED OUT. I'VE HAD TO DRIVE HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED BY HAND ON 7 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS UNTIL THE DOOR WOULD LATCH. MY VEHICLE IS ALWAYS PARKED OUTSIDE IN MY DRIVEWAY AS MY GARAGE IS TOO SMALL FOR IT. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE DOOR LATCHES WERE ON BACKORDER FROM FORD THROUGH APRIL. THERE IS NO RECALL ISSUED AS OF YET.
WHILE IN MOTION, THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM WILL ACTIVATE AND APPLY THE BRAKES WITH FORCE FOR NO REASON. AT 70 MPH, THIS IS QUITE DANGEROUS AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. I HAVE SINCE DEACTIVATED THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE. THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED WITH A 2015 MODEL I HAD AND WAS NEVER FIXED BY FORD.
THE DRIVER DOOR LATCH ON MY TRUCK WHEN COLD WILL FREEZE AND NOT OPEN/UNLOCK UNTIL THE TRUCK HAS BEEN WARMED UP FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME RANGING UP TO 40 MINUTES. I HAVE BEEN LOCKED OUT OF MY VEHICLE AT A GAS STATION, RETUARANT, MY HOUSE AND HAVE EVEN BEEN LOCKED IN MY TRUCK WHERE I HAD TO WAIT 10 MINUTES FOR IT TO THAW AND ALLOW ME TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE IF I CANT EXIT MY VEHICLE IF INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT OR BEING STRANDED OUTSIDE OF MY VEHICLE IN COLD TEMPS. ON JANUARY 10 2017, AT APPROXIMATELY 7:45 A.M. AFTER DROPPING OFF MY 3 KIDS AT SCHOOL, THE REAR WINDOW ON MY 2016 FORD F-150 EXPLODED AND SHATTERED AFTER THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED.
IN COLDER WEATHER UNDER 30 DEGREES, THE DOORS FREEZE SHUT. ONCE THEY ARE OPENED, THEY WILL NOT LATCH WHEN SHUT. OVERALL, THE DOORS ARE NOT EASY TO CLOSE AND LATCH TIGHTLY UNLESS THEY ARE CLOSED WITH A LOT OF FORCE. THERE NEEDS TO BE SOME REMEDY TO THIS AS IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
VEHICLE DOORS WILL NOT LATCH IN FREEZING WEATHER.
2016 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW LARIAT 4X4 - VEHICLE DOOR OPENING MECHANISM HAS FAILED ON BOTH THE DRIVER'S DOOR AS WELL AS THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR. SPECIFICALLY THE DRIVER'S DOOR HAS BOTH NOT OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE AND AT A LATER TIME NOT BEEN ABLE TO CLOSE DOOR. WHEN YOU CLOSE THE DOOR IT, JUST BOUNCES BACK OPEN AS THE LATCH MECHANISM DID NOT ENGAGE. SIMILARLY, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR ON THIS TRUCK HAS ON TWO OCCASIONS ALREADY RESULTED IN A FAILING LATCHING MECHANISM PREVENTING THE DOOR FROM BEING OPENED. WITH THREE YOUNG CHILDREN WHO RIDE IN THE REAR SEATS, HAVING A DOOR THAT FAILS TO CLOSE IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AS THE CHILDREN EXPECT ANY DOOR THAT THEY CLOSE ON AN AUTOMOBILE TO LATCH WHEN SHUT. I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO NOTICE THE "DOOR AJAR" ALERT ON THE DASH, BUT THERE MAY BE SOME WHO DO NOT NOTICE THIS. IT'S WORTH NOTING THAT AFTER OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR AND ALSO LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY IT WILL CLOSE, BUT IT USUALLY TAKES MORE THAN 15 MINUTES FOR CLOSURE TO TAKE PLACE. AT WHICH POINT, YOU ARE TERRIFIED TO OPEN YOUR OWN DOOR ONCE MORE FOR FEAR THAT IT WILL NOT CLOSE. *TR

I AM PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. ON MORNINGS FOLLOWING A PRECIPITATION EVENT WHERE THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW FREEZING THE LOCKING MECHANISM FREEZES MAKING THE DOORS INOPERABLE. IF I AM ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO OPEN BY USING THE FRONT DOORS I CANNOT LATCH THE DOORS CLOSED. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE MORNINGS.

DOOR LOCKS FROZEN - CAN'T SECURE DRIVER'S DOOR WHILE DRIVING... IT'S 24 DEGREES THIS MORNING. DRY, NO RAIN. I HIT THE FOB TO OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR. IT OPENS. I HOP IN THE TRUCK. I START THE MOTOR. THE RECTANGULAR WARNING SCREEN APPEARS. "DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR", OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I ATTEMPT TO CLOSE THE DOOR AGAIN. IT WILL NOT SECURE. I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE NOTHING IS CAUGHT IN THE JAM. LOOKS GOOD. DOOR WILL NOT SECURE. SO, I HAD TO DRIVE THE TRUCK WITH MY RIGHT HAND ACROSS MY LAP TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED. ONCE AT MY DESTINATION, I HOPPED OUT AND ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE DOOR. IT JUST BOUNCES AND WILL NOT SECURE. WELL, I HIT THE FOB TO LOCK IT AND LOW AND BEHOLD, IT LOCKS. THE TRUCK IS NOW LOCKED AND SECURE, BUT IT WON'T UNLOCK. I CAN'T GET IN IT. I GUESS IT IS NOW FROZEN IN THE LOCKED POSITION. I'M STRANDED. *TR
I STOPPED AT A GAS STATION, GOT OUT, GOT GAS, WHEN I GOT BACK IN AND TRIED TO CLOSE THE DRIVERS DOOR IT WOULD NOT LATCH. I TRIED TO CLOSE IT OVER AND OVER AND STILL WOULD NOT LATCH. HAD TO DRIVE TO WORK HOLDING DOOR CLOSED WITH LEFT HAND. TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS ABOUT 20 DEGREES. VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN A GARAGE SO WATER WAS NOT A FACTOR.
