WHEN DRIVING ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS THE BACK BRAKES DO NOT GRAB AT ALL OR SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE TAKEN OUT OF DRIVE AND PUT IN NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO STOP. ON 3/14/97 BRAKES ADJUSTED BY DEALERSHIP, PROBLEM STILL OCCURRING. *AK
WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO TRAVEL, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
BRAKES: DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10MPH PREPARING TO MAKE LEFT TURN AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. ICE WAS ON HIGHWAY, APPLIED BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR, CAUSE OF FAILURE UNKNOWN , VEHICLE NOT TAKEN IN FOR REPAIRS. MANUFACTURER INSISTS THAT THERE IS NO RECALL. *AK
WHILE DRIVING UNDER WET OR SNOWY ROAD CONDITIONS THE ENGINE GOES IDLE ONCE TAKING FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. COMSUMER ALSO STATED THAT HAS LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE ONCE TRYING AND PUTTING ON THE BRAKES. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT'S HOW THE ENGINE WAS BUILT INTO THE FUEL COMPUTER. *AK
ELECTRICAL FIRE IN STEERING WHEEL. THE WIRE WAS TOO SMALL FOR AMPS. *BF THE CONSUMER DISCONNECTED THE WIRE. *NM
1997 FORD F-250 RECALL FOR SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM. CONSUMER STATES THAT TWO DEALERS HAVE STATED THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. HE WOULD LIKE THE DEALER TO INFORM HIM WHEN THE PARTS COME IN. HE STATES HE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CALL TO FIND OUT. *KB

THE TIRE COMPLIANCE LABLE FOR REAR INFLATION STATES 80 PSI, HOWEVER THE TIRE APPEARS OVER INFLATED AT 80 PSI, DEALER RECOMMENDS 70 PSI.

CONSUMERS VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS FUTURE VEHICLE INSPECTIONS BECAUSE EXHAUST PIPE EXITS ON THE SIDE (DESIGN).
VEHICLE JUMPS INTO NEUTRAL GEAR WHEN GOING DOWNHILL.
BRAKE SYSTEM OVERHEATS AND FAILS.
TRANSMISSION UPSHIFTS ROUGHLY. GEARING DOWN TO LOW GERAS ON HILL THEN UPSHIFTS, AND ENGINE WILL DIE.
THESE VEHICLES WITH THE POWER STROKE DIESEL ENGINE HAS AN INDEPENDENT FRONT SUSPENSION THAT WAS UNDERDESIGNED TO HANDLE THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS DESIGN DOES NOT ALLOW THE VEHICLE'S FRONT END ALIGNMENT TO STAY AND VEHICLE IS ALWAYS PULLING.
CONSUMER HAS HAD A NUMBER OF ALMOST ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE HORN SENSORS LOCATIONS. CONSUMER CAN ONLY FIT THE CIRCULAR PART OF FINGER TIPS ON TO BLOW THE HORN, AND THAT SOMETIMES IS HARD TO FIND, SOMETIMES IT'S TOO LATE. *AK
BRAKES LOCK UP OCCASIONALLY.
SINCE APPROXIMATELY 20000 MILES VEHICLE WILL WITHOUT WARNING DEVELOPE AN EXTREME SHAKING IN THE FRONT END. VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE TO VIOLENTLY WOBBLE UNTIL BRAKES ARE APPLIED AND VEHICLE IS SLOWED TO A SPEED OF 20-30 MILES PER HOUR. THIS OCCURS WITHOUT WARNING AT ALL SPEEDS FROM 30 TO 70 MILES PER HOUR. INSPECTIONS AT ALINGMENT SHOPS, FAILED TO REVEAL ANY FAILED COMPONENTS. A RECENT INSPECTION AT A FORD GARAGE ALSO REVEALED NO DAMAGED COMPONENTS BUT I WAS INFORMED THAT A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED ON THE 1-TON 4 WHEEL DRIVE WAS APPLICABLE TO THIS VEHICLE AND THAT PURSUANT TO THIS BULLITIN A FACTORY RECOMMENDED FIX WAS INSTALLED AT MY COST. BE AWARE THAT ON 2 SEPERATE OCCASIONS I ASKED DEALERSHIP SERVICE PERSONNEL IF THERE WAS AN INHERRENT PROBLEM WITH THE SUSPENSION OF THIS VEHICLE, BOTH TIMES I WAS TOLD THEY HAD NO SUCH KNOWLEDGE. THIS RESULTED IN UNNECCESSAY EXPENSES AT ALIGNMENT SHOPS , THE REPLACEMENT OF TIRES AND SHOCKS, AND THE CONTINUED OPERATION OF A DAGEROUSLY UNFIT VEHICLE. ONLY UPON MY ISSISTANCE TO THE DEALER THAT THIS VEHICLE COULD NOT BE SAFELY OPPERATED WAS THE EXISTANCE OF SAID TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLITIN ACKNOWLEDGED AND THE FACTORY FIX INSTALLED, AGAIN AT MY COST.
UNABLE TO GET RECALL WORK PERFORMED ON THE REAR CRADLE BOLTS DUE TO DEALER PROBLEM.
WHEN SHIFTING TO LOW GEAR ON STEEPHILL, ENGINE FAILS. YH
OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR LOOSE; NEEDED REPLACEMENT. *YC
THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN PARK ON A HILL. THE OWNER GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE, AND THE VEHICLE POPPED OUT OF PARK AND BEGAN TO ROLL IN REVERSE. DEALER HAS NOT SEEN. *AK
THE VEHICLE HAS NO ADEQUATE HYDRAULIC FILTER ON THE RELEASE VALVE WITHIN THE STEERING GEAR BOX TO PREVENT VALVE COMTAMINATION AND FAILURE, CAUSING THE STEERING GEAR BOX TO EXPLODE AND TOTAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHICH RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. CONSUMER HAD IT ANALYZED BY DOUGLAS B. CHISHOLM ASSC. INC WHICH DETERMINED THE DEFECT. PLEASE ATTACH THE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *AK
EXHAUST SYSTEM IS LOCATED IN THE FRONT OF REAR WHEELS IS CAUSING DISCOLORATION OF WHEELS AND MELTING OF TIRES. *AK
THE VEHICLE STALLS OUT AND DIES WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED.
INTERMITTENTLY ABS LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE AND HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THUS THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE CONFIRMED OR CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WILL BE NOTIFIED. *AK
TURN SIGNALS WOULD FAIL TO STAY ON IF ROAD BEARS OPPOSITE OF SIGNAL. LEFT TURN ROAD BEARING RIGHT SLIGHTLY, WOULD TURN SIGNAL OFF. THE SIGNAL CAN TURN ITSELF OFF. TURN SIGNAL WAS REPLACED BY DEALERSHIP. BUT, PROBLEM WAS NOT SOLVED, UNABLE TO BE FIXED, DEALERSHIP STATES THAT IS THE FUNCTION OF THE SIGNAL, CONSUMER MOST HOLD SIGNAL ON WITH ONE HAND AND STEER WITH THE OTHER. *AK
FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS ARE PREMATURELY WEARING OUT, CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
CRACK IN DRIVERS DOOR FRAME NEAR THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER AROUND THE WINDOW. *AK
SPARE TIRE CARRIER FAILED CAUSING THE TIRE TO FALL OFF. YH

THE TIE ROD END FAILED, WHILE DRIVING THE BALL SEPARATED FROM THE CUP, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL. *MJS

SIDE WALLS BULGING FROM BEAD TO THE TREAD AND CIRCUMFERENCE MIDWAY ON THE SIDEWALLS (TIRESIZE: LT 235/85)( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: LT 235/85 )
WHEN APPLYING BRAKES WHILE TOWING A TRAILER, TRANSMISSION KICKED OUT OF GEAR INTO NEUTRAL. THIS COULD CAUSE A BAD CRASH BECAUSE VEHICLE WAS JUST FREE WHEELING. FORD WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE PROBLEM. AFTER TAKING VEHICLE TO TWO DEALERSHIPS, OWNER WAS TOLD THAT TRANSMISSION WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. *AK ANY TIME THE DRIVER STEPS ON THE BRAKE, THE GEAR SHIFTS AUTOMATICALLY TO NEUTRAL CAUSING SAFETY HAZARD. *YH

PITMAN ARM ASSEMBLY. I HAVE AN F-250 "LIGHT DUTY" 3/4 TON. I HAVE A NOISE FROM THE PITMAN ARM ASSEMBLY/GEAR BOX. I CONTACTED A LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE MANAGER INDICATED NO RECALL ON THAT COMPONENT. HOWEVER, HE DID SAY THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE EXPEDITION BECAUSE OF PITMAN ARM PROBLEMS. I UNDERSTAND THAT A DEALERSHIP NEEDS TO LUBRICATE THIS MECHANISM. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT STEERING SAFETY AND IF THE EXPEDITION WAS RECALLED, IS THIS SIMILAR. PLEASE RESPOND VIA EMAIL. THANKS*AK

NATURAL GAS VEHICLE. CLAMP IN ENGINE WAS RUBBING ONTO THE FLEXIBLE HOSE THAT WAS HOOKED TO FUEL INJECTORS, CAUSING A HOLE IN FLEXIBLE HOSE, EMITTING NATURAL GAS. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK

WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION CONSUMER NOTICED VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. CONSUMER PUT OUT FIRE. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
MILEAGE IS 113,086. HAVE ABS. BRAKE LINES TO BOTH REAR WHEEL HAVE RUBBED AGAINST MOVING PART OF SHOCK ABSORBERS. THE RUBBER COVERING OF BRAKE LINES IS WORN OFF COMPLETELY AND PART OF METAL IS WORN. FORD DOUBLE INSULATED THE BRAKE LINES SO IT IS CLEAR THEY KNOW THE LINES WERE RUBBING AGAINS THE SHOCK ABSORBERS. IF THESE LINES WERE TO WEAR THROUGH AND FLUID SPRAYED OUT, I DREAD TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAPPEN. TO REPEAT: REAR BRAKE LINES ARE RUBBING AGAINS PART OF SHOCK ABSORBERS, THUS WEARING AWAY ALL THE INSULATION ON LINE.*AK
