WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH A LOUD BANGING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE FRONT. CONSUMER PULLED OVER, LIFTED UP THE HOOD, AND NOTICED THAT A SPARK PLUG POPPED OUT OF THE SOCKET. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS BECAME LOOSE AND SEPARATED. THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. *AK THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE THREADS HOLDING THE SPARK PLUGS WERE MANUFACTURED IN THE ENGINE BLOCK. THE TREADS WORE DUE TO ENGINE VIBRATION. *NM
WHILE DRIVING 10 TO 15 MPH CONSUMER HEARD AN NOISE. THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK BROKE. THE CABLE FRAYED AND SNAPPED. AS A RESULT, THE SPARE TIRE FELL OFF. *AK
THE FRONT WINDSHIELD LEAKED WHICH ALLOWED WATER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE WATER LEAKED ONTO THE FUSE BOX WHICH CAUSED AN ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION. AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK THE VEHICLE WAS ON INA FLEET OF VEHICLES. *NM
APPROXIMATELY EVERY 6,000 MILES, MY BRAKES START VIBRATING WHEN COMING TO A STOP. I BELIEVE THE DISC IS WARPING BUT TO DATE, NOTHING CONCRETE HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. SO FAR, THE ROTORS HAVE BEEN TURNED TWICE AND THE DISK REPLACED TWICE. THE PROBLEM IS REOCCURING AND I WILL BE TAKING THE CAR IN AGAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS THE CAR DOESN'T STOP PROPERLY AND THE VIBRATING STEERING WHEEL MAY CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL. I SEE SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME NATURE AND MOST SEEM TO BE FROM ALASKA. IS THE COLD WEATHER SOMEHOW RESPONSIBLE? IT TAKES TIME, EFFORT, AND A LOT OF EMOTIONAL GRIEF TO ARGUE WITH THE DEALERSHIP EACH TIME I TAKE THE CAR IN AND TELL THEM THAT THE BRAKES HAVEN'T BEEN RIGHT SINCE DRIVING THE CAR OF THE LOT. WHEN IS FORD GOING TO PERMANENTLY FIX THE PROBLEM? CHANGING THE DISK IS APPARENTLY NOT A PERMANENT FIX. THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE SYSTEM ITSELF. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO GET SATISFACTION, START A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT? HAVE AN ACCIDENT CAUSED BY FAULTY BREAKS WITH INJURY OR DEATH AND PUBLICISE A LARGE SETTLEMENT LAW SUIT? ALL I WANT IS BREAKS I CAN TRUST. AS IT IS, I GET INTO THE VEHICLE AND WAIT FOR THE VIBRTATION TO START! *AK
TREAD SEPARATION FROM FIRESTONE "STEELTEX RADIAL A/T" TIRE AT APROX 60 MPH TIRE TREAD SEPERATED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING ON DRY LEVEL GROUND THERE WAS NO ROAD HAZARD INVOLVED, TIRE NEVER LOST PRESSURE AND REMAINED INFLATED UNTIL 2 DAYS AFTER EVENT THE TIRE WAS REPLACED AT TIME OF EVENT WITH A SPARE TIRE, THERE WAS SIGNIFIGANT DAMAGE TO THE DRIVERS BED SECTION OF MY TRUCK. AN INSURANCE CLAIM WAS FILED WITH MY INSURER AND SETTELED WITH A REPAIRTHAT TOTALED APROX $2258.00. *AK
FRONT TIRES WEAR OUT UNEVENLY, AND ARE UNABLE TO HOLD AIR. *AK
WHILE BRAKING 40 MPH BRAKES FAILED. THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR ,CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
LAST MARCH OF 2004 ONE OF MY EMPLOYEES WAS DRIVING OUR COMPANYS TRUCK 1999 FORD F-250. WHEN SMOKE RISED FROM THE HOOD AND THE TRUCK BURST INTO FLAMES. HIS DOG WAS TRAPPED IN THE BACKSEAT AND WAS PASSED OUT FROM SMOKE. FORTUNATELY THE DOG WAS RESCUED BY AARON M FOSTER MY SON AND EMPLOYEE WHO WAS DRIVING THE FORD. WE HAD LIABILITY INSURANCE ONLY AND THEY WOULDNT COVER THE TRUCK, RESULTING IN A COMPLETE LOSS.
WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. CONSUMER MANAGED TO PULL OVER TO CHANGE THE TIRE. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. GOODYEAR, WRANGLER AT, 285/75R16, DOT#PJYUJ3H2700. *AK *NM
WHEN DRIVING UPHILL IN THE RAIN REAR OF THE VEHICLE FISHTAILED WHEN BRAKING. *AK
TRANSMISSION VIBRATES AND CUTS OUT WHEN ENGAGING SPEED , AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RECALLS ON MY VECHIEL IT IS A 99 F250 4DR V8. SO COULD YOU PLEASE SEND ME SOMETHING TO HAVE MY VEHICLE REPAIRED AND ALSO MY AIR BAG SENSOR IS BAD , THE ENGINE LIGHT SENSOR IS ALSO ON. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH SPARK PLUG DISCONNECTED FROM THE ENGINE, CAUSING VEHICLE TO STALL. CONSUMER MANAGED TO PULL OVER, AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.*AK

WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH CONSUMER FELT A VIBRATION IN THE VEHICLE. A FEW SECONDS LATER RIGHT SIDE REAR WHEEL SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE SKIDDED TO A STOP ON THE SHOULDER, WHERE THE CONSUMER FOUND THAT THE 8 LUGS: NUTS HAD SHEARED OFF. THERE WAS NO COLLISION OR INJURIES REPORTED IN THIS INCIDENT. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM.*AK
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE'S LEFT REAR TIRE SHEARED OFF FROM THE HUB. THE TIRE WENT THROUGH THE MEDIAN AND STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE. *MR *NM
1999 FORD F250 PICKUP IS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH FIRESTONE STEELTEX A/T TIRE EQUIPMENT.*MR AFTER THE CONSUMER HEARD OF THE FIRESTONE TIRE PROBLEMS HE TOOK HIS VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER. THE DEALER CHECKED THE TIRES AND INDICATED NONE OF THEM WERE PART OF THE RECALL. WHILE DRIVING THE TREAD OF THE LEFT REAR TIRE CAME OFF BUT THE TIRE REMAINED INFLATED. THIS INCIDENT CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER WENT TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHO HANDLED THE HANDLED THE TIRE REPLACEMENTS. THE TIRE WERE LOOKED AT AND THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *NLM
PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE'S FIRESTONE TIRE EQUIPMENT. *MR WHILE DRIVING UP A HILL, WITHOUT WARNING, THE OUTSIDE CAP OF THE LEFT REAR TIRE HAD COME OFF AND DAMAGED THE VEHICLE. THE TIRE HAD NEVER GONE FLAT BEFORE AND HAD 6/32 AND 8/32 TREAD REMAINING. THE TIRE DISINTEGRATED AT 8/32 TREAD REMAINING. *SCC *JB *JB
WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. AS A RESULT, THE PARTICLES FROM THE TIRE CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD AND DAMAGED THE VEHICLE'S FRAME. *AK
CABLES HOLDING THE SPARE TIRE UNDER THE TRUCK BED BROKE AND DROPPED THE TIRE TO THE GROUND. THIS OCCURED WHILE THE TRUCK WAS MOVING BUT FORTUNATELY WAS STILL IN THE FARM LANE. COULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS HAD IT HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY
THE FRONT TIRE ROD FELL OFF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK BOTH FRONT OUTER TIE ROD ENDS WERE REPLACED. *SCC *JB
WHILE DRIVING FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE BLEWOUT WITHOUT WARNING. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT COLLISION AND NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK A VEHICLE RAN THE STOP SIGN AND THE CONSUMER HIT THE VEHICLE ON A 90 DEGREE ANGLE. THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE VEERED UPON IMPACT AND WENT INTO AN EMBANKMENT. THERE FOUR HORSE TRAILER WITH THREE HORSES ON BOARD JACKNIFED AND CAUSED THE TRUCK TO HEAD EASTBOUND AS IT ROLLED OVER THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. ALL WINDOWS EXCEPT THE WINDSHIELD POPPED OUT. THERE WAS MORE DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE THAN THE LEFT SIDE. *PH *JB
I HAVE A FORD F250 TRUCK. BOTH FRONT TIRES(FIRESTONE) HAD A TRED SEPARATION WITHIN 15HRS OF EACH OTHER. THE FIRST OCCURRED 7/11/03 AT APPROX. 1700HRS. IT WAS THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE, THE SECOND OCCURRED 7/12/03 AT 0720HRS. THE LEFT FRONT TIRE.NO-ONE WAS HURT, BUT MY VEH. DID HAVE A LOT OF DANAGE.*AK

WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE TREAD COMPLETELY SEPARATED. THE TIRE REMAINED FULLY INFLATED . THE TIRE WAS NOT AN ORIGINAL TIRE AND IT HAD 30000 MILES ON IT. IN TOTAL THE CONSUMER HAD THREE VEHICLES EXPERIENCED THREE DIFFERENT FAILURES: TWO BLOW OUTS AND ONE SEPARATIONS. THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM ON TWO DIFFERENT VEHICLES; ON THE 99 FORD THE TREAD SEPARATED AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE (FIRESTONE STEELTEX/AT), AND ON THE SECOND VEHICLE (5TH WHEEL CAMPER)THE TIRE HAD BLOWN OUT AND DAMAGED THE VEHICLE AS WELL(STEELTEX RADIAL/LT 245 75 R16-120/116 RM/S, DOT # VN2081XL00). *AK *SCC *CB *NLM

WHILE DRIVING THROTTLE BECAME STUCK, CAUSING VEHICLE'S SPEED TO INCREASE. PROBLEM OCCURRED 5 TIMES DURING THE TRIP. IT WAS LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE THROTTLE CABLE GUIDE WAS WORN. *AK *NLM

SPARK PLUG IN THE #7 CYLINDER SUDDENLY BLEW OUT, FORD COMMENTS WERE THAT THEY WERE SYMPATHETIC, BUT THAT THE COST OF REPAIR WOULD BE BORN BY ME($3000.00). AFTER DOING SOME INTERNET RESEARCH I FIND THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH MANY OTHERS WHO UTILIZE THE 5.4 LITER ENGINE, EVEN THE DEALER ACKNOWLEDGES HE HAS HAD SEVERAL CASES. CONSUMER STATES VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING EXCESSIVE VIBRATION ON FRONT END OF TRUCK WHILE DRIVING. CONSUMER STATES VIBRATION IS SO BAD IT FEELS AS IF MAY LOSE CONTROL OF VEHICLE. TRUCK CHECKED BY DEALER WHO INSTALLED A FRONT STABILIZER KIT. REPAIR ONLY WORKED TEMPORARILY, VIBRATION HAS STARTED AGAIN.*JBTHE LATEST VIBRATION WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY TIRE. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED AND THE VIBRATION HAS CEASED. CONSUMER SEEKS REIMBURSEMENT FROM FORD. *JG
