FRONT BUMPER CAN NOT WITHSTAND A 2.5 COLLISION. DRIVER'S SEAT LUMBAR SUPPORT DOES NOT HOLD AIR PRESSURE, PASSENGER SEAT SQUEAKS AFTER BEING SERVICED THREE TIMES. POOR GAS MILEAGE AND HIGH IDLE, CONSUMER STATES WHILE FILLING FUEL TANK, THE NOZZLE WOULD CLICK OFF SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE TANK WAS FULL. WINDSHILED WIPERS WOULD SKIP AND CHATTER WHILE IN USE. *SLC

TRANSMISSION FAILED 6 TIMES, CAUSING OIL TO LEAK ONTO EXHAUST.
PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE NEW IN DEC. OF 1993 AND HAVE HAD 7 TRANSMISSION FAILURES. SOME OF THESE FAILURES HAVE CREATED SITUATIONS OF TRANSMSISSION FLUID BOILING OUT OF DIPSTICK TUBE AND DROPPING DOWN ON EXHAUST. VERY GOOD POTENTIAL FOR OIL FIRE WHEN TRANSMISSION FLUID BOILED OUT AND VEHICLE WAS SMOKING FROM FLUID DROPPING ON EXHAUST. HAVE CHECKED WITH ATRA {AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REBUILDERS ASSOCIATION} AND THEY HAVE CONCLUDED THAT THIS PARTICULAR TRANSMISSION{E4OD} HAS BEEN VERY TROUBLESOME WITH HIGH FAILURE RATE. CHECKING WITH INSURANCE COMPANIES AND INVESTIGATIVE COMPANIES THAT INVESTIGATE VEHICLE FIRES TO SEE IF THERE ARE MANY FIRES RELATING TO THIS TRANSMISSION FAILURE IN FORDS TRANSMISSIONS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 1989 THRU 1997.

WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE WILL NOT STOP. DEALER SAYS BRAKES ARE WORKING RIGHT. ALSO CAN FEEL VIBRATION IN PEDAL WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP. ALSO REPLACED REAR BRAKE DRUMS. *AK
ABS BRAKES LOCK UP THE REAR TIRES AT 5MPH. VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT AND HAS A BAD SHUTTER WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED.
SINCE PURCHASING VEHICLE PAINT HAS APPEARED TO BE SLIGHTLY FADED. CONSUMER HAS CONSTANTLY WAXED AND POLISHE DVEHICLE, BUT OF NO AVAIL.
THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING HAS PIN HOLES IN IT THAT ARE LEAKING ONTO THE MOTOR. EADELR SAYS THE HOUSING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *AK
BRAKES WOULD RANDOMLY NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. WOULD FAIL TO STOP VEHICLE WHEN APPLIED. BRAKE PEDAL WOULD DROP,BUT NOT TO FLOOR. WOULD GO THROUGH STOP LIGHTS AND INTERSECTIONS. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER , IT WAS TEST DRIVEN. MECHANIC REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER. BUT, PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
PER OWNER MANUAL, ENGINE SHOULD HOLD 12 QUARTS OF OIL. A CHANGE WAS MADE TO THE DIP STICK BY THE MANUFACTURER, WHICH INCREASES THE OIL INTAKE TO 14 QUARTS. CONSUMER WASN'T NOTIFIED OF THE CHANGE. THIS RESULTED IN ENGINE FAILURE, DO TO INSIGNIFICANT OIL CONSUMPTION. *PH
THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS DO NOT STAY IN ADJUSTMENT AND CAUSE POOR VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. *AK SIDE VIEW MIRRORS WERE IN POOR CONDITION SINCE PURCHASE. *LA *JB
