The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-350 equipped with Goodyear Tires, Tire Line: Wrangler All Terrain Adventure, Tire Size: LT275/70/R18, DOT Number: (N/A). While the contact's friend was driving 55 MPH, there was a blowout of the rear passenger’s side tire. The driver prevented a crash; however, the failure caused a significant amount of damage when the truck bed lowered and nearly separated from the chassis, the hubcap detached, and the exhaust pipe was bent in half. The driver pulled over to a truck stop and installed the spare and secured the truck bed to the frame with harness straps to prevent the truck bed from separating. The contact notified the manufacturer about the failure and requested that the tire be shipped for inspection to determine any potential liability. The contact had not yet submitted the tire or any documentation to the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
I have a 2017 ford f350 diesel 6.7 and replaced the low pressure fuel pump in 2022 at about 57000 miles. Then again in July of 2026 the fuel pump has had to be replaced again at 68000 miles. I read that many 2022 ford vehicles were recalled in that year for a bad fuel pump. So I think I might have been given a bad fuel pump from that year 2022 and now its bad again. This is a know problem for fords I dont understand why there is not a recall for these pumps. Ford is been building bad pumps for a long time and are getting away with it, A fuel pump should not have to be replaced after 3 years. The work was all done at the Beach Ford Dealership in myrtle beach sc 29575.
I am filing this complaint regarding my Ford F-350, VIN [XXX], which caught fire on XXX. The truck had approximately 130,000 miles, which I consider low mileage for a properly maintained diesel Ford F-350. These trucks are known for long service life, and many Ford diesel trucks routinely remain in service for 20 years or more and exceed 250,000 miles when properly maintained. For that reason, I did not expect a sudden and catastrophic fire in a truck with only 130,000 miles. While driving, passing motorists alerted us the truck was on fire. The fire appeared to originate in the engine compartment and spread extremely rapidly. Within a very short period, the front of the truck was engulfed in flames and sustained catastrophic damage. Based on the speed and severity of the fire, I am concerned a failure in the engine compartment, fuel system, electrical system, or another vehicle component may have caused or contributed to the fire. This truck has been well maintained, kept clean, and responsibly cared for. I followed the manufacturer’s maintenance guidelines and did not expect a sudden engine-compartment fire. After the fire, I found reports of other F-350 fires and references to fire-related complaints and investigations. This raises serious concerns Ford may have known of a potential fire risk involving these trucks. This incident created major safety hazard not only to the occupants of the truck, but to other motorists and anyone nearby. Had passing drivers not alerted us, the outcome could have been far worse. The severity of the fire required a major emergency response, including multiple fire trucks and police. A vehicle fire of this magnitude presents an obvious risk of serious injury or death. I request NHTSA investigate Ford F-350 and vehicle fire incidents to determine whether a defect involving the fuel system, electrical system, or related parts may cause these trucks to catch fire without warning.
