I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON 10/13/2018. I WAS STRUCK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, BACK OF MY 2011 FORD FIESTA. MY CAR SPUN AROUND AND FLIPPED AND ROLLED. DURING THIS TIME THE AIR BAGS DID NOT OPEN. I WAS TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN I WAS STRUCK GOING 60 -65 MPH. THE CAR THAT STRUCK ME WAS GOING MUCH FASTER, 80-85 MPH. I AM WONDERING WHY MY AIR BAGS DID NOT OPEN. ARE THERE ANY OTHER REPORTS LIKE MINE? MY CAR LANDED UPRIGHT IN A GRASSY MUDDY FIELD. I AM STILL BEING SEEN FOR MEDICAL TREATMENTS AND WAITING TO HEAR IF MY CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS OR REPAIRABLE.

KANSAS, COLLISION WITH FIXED OBJECT,LEFT TURN, IMPACT TO PASSENGER FRONT CORNER, RAN OFF RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD,STRUCK FIXE OBJECT, DAMAGE TO BOTH PASSENGER FRONT CORNER/QUARTER OF CAR. 10/11/16, JACKSON CO, MISSOURI, MOVING IN TRANSPORT COLLISION, IMPACT REAR OF CAR, TOWING INDICATOR, DRIVER FRONT AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. 2 ACCIDENTS: FORMER OWNER, NOT ME. THE CAR TRUCK IS ALWAYS LIFTED WHEN CLOSED, FRONT SIDE OF WINDSHIELD FRAME IS BUMPY, PASSENGER SIDE NEAR BACK WHEEL IS BUMPY, THE CAR ACCIDENTS SMASHED THE CAR. TRANSMISSION, JERKS BACK AND FORTH 24/7, GOING TO, FROM STREET LIGHTS, INTERSECTIONS, LIKE WANTS TO DIE ON NORMAL STRAIGHT STREET AND ON HILLS. THE CAR ROLLS BACK ON HILLS BY ITSELF. LACK OF ACCELERATION SPEED FROM BRAKES TO GAS PEDAL. THE 10/8/2018 PHONE CALL MIKE FROM FLORIDA, FORD, TRANMISSION SETTLEMENT PHONE CALL SAID "TRANSMISSION IS THE FORD FLAW". I WENT TO THE BLUE SPRINGS, MO, INDEPENDENCE, MO, DEALERSHIPS 4 TIMES FROM MARCH 13, 2017, JULY 4, 2018: BATTERY FUSE BOX RECALL. PASSENGER DOOR FLEW OPEN/DOOR LATCH RECALL, SEPT. 24, 2018, THE BLUE SPRINGS, MO, DEALERSHIP DID NOT FIX THE TRANMISSION, UNDER 100,000 MILE WARRENTY. THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR BROKE AND IT IS NOT WORKING FROM SEPT., 24, 2018, THE COST TO FIX IS $2,172, THEY CHARGED $99.50 DIAGNOSTIC, DID NOT FIX THE AIR CONDITIONING. THE DEFROSTER IS NOT WORKING SINCE OCT. 10, 2018, IT IS CONNECTED TO THE COMPRESSOR, WHEN TURNED ON THE DEFROSTER MAKES A CRANK NOISE IN THE ENGINE. THE HEATER SYSTEM HAS A WEIRD CRANK NOISE WHEN TURNED TO LOW, HIGH, DOES NOT WORK EITHER. THE BBB AUTOLINE CLOSED MY LEMON LAW COMPLAINT CASE NUMBER FRD1825535 CASE, DID NOT HELP ME, BECAUSE THEY LIMIT CASES TO 36,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE IS A LIFE HAZARD 24/7. MY CAR IS 82,130 MILES. I CAN NOT DRIVE THIS NON-RELIABLE CAR.
I OWN A 2011 FIESTA WITH 130000 MILES ON IT. AS EVERYONE IS AWARE, THEY HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I HAVE HAD THE TCM REPROGRAMMED 5 OR 6 TIME SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND REPLACED A CLUTCH. THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 100000 MILES BUT MY CLUTCH WAS CLEANED IN 2016 AT APPROX 95000 MILES BEFORE IT WAS THE STANDARD FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE BAD CLUTCHES. LAST SEPTEMBER, AT 120000 MILES, IWAS DRIVING DOWN A MAIN ROAD WHEN MY CLUTCH QUIT WORKING WORKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND STRANDED ME IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAIN 7 LANE ROAD, WOULDNT EVEN GO INTO NEUTRAL. I'M LUCKY THERE WASNT AN ACCIDENT WITH HOW SUDDENLY IT HAPPENED, AFTER FIGHTING WITH FORD FOR TWO MONTHS I HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED IN NOVEMBER AND HAD TO PAY 1300 FOR WHAT TO ME SEEMS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. NOW LESS THAN A YEAR LATER MY OTHER CLUTCH IS GOING OUT AND AGAIN I'M OUTSIDE OF THE 100000 MILE WARRANTY. I KNOW 3 PEOPLE PERSONALLY WHO ARE ALSO HAVING G THE SAME ISSUE AFTER HAVING THERE CLUTCH CLEANED AND THEN PASSING THE 100000 MARK. FORD HAS PRODUCED A CAR THAT FAILED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, WILL JUST QUIT WORKING AND WILL LURCH FORWARD AND YOU ARE BRAKING OR WHEN YOU ARE JUST STARTING TO PUT GAS ON THE PEDAL. I HAVE PERSONALLY EXPERIENCED ALL OF THESE ISSUES AND MORE(LIKE MY AUTOMATIC VEHICLE REVVING AND THEN STARTING TO ROLL BACKWARDS DOWN A HILL WHILE I'M PUSHING ON THE GAS). I WOULD LIKE VERY MUCH FOR FORD TO BE HELP RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AND HAVE TO EXTEND THEIR WARRANTY PAST THE 100000 MILES. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT THEY HAVE TRIED TO HIDE, THEN AVOID AND IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. I'M HOPING SOMEONE CAN HELP WITH THIS.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, IN A CURVE, MY DRIVER'S FRONT DOOR SWUNG OPEN. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED ISSUE, AND A FEDERAL RECALL WAS ISSUED. DUE TO DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCH, DOORS FLY OPEN WHILE DRIVING. THE LATCH WAS REPLACE ONCE UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE, NOW, HAS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, AS IT HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING, AND THE DOOR WON'T REMAIN CLOSED, ONCE THE DEFECTIVE LATCH FAILS. BOTH APPEL FORD, AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY, REFUSE TO COVER THE REPAIR, FOR THIS KNOWN RECALL ISSUE. I BELIEVE THE RECALL NUMBER IS 15S16.
2011 FORD FIESTA CONTINUES TO HAVE LATCH FAILURES AFTER LATCHES HAVE BEEN REPLACED UNDER SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 15S16/NHTSA RECALL 15V-246 FORD REFUSES TO COVER COST OF REPAIR OF LATCH SINCE THEIR RECORDS SHOW THAT IT IS REPAIRED. FIRST DOOR LATCH FAILURE IN OCT. 2015 TOOK IT IN AND THEY REPLACED ALL 4 DOOR LATCHES. NEXT DOOR LATCH FAILURE IN JUNE 2016. REPLACED UNDER RECALL. ANOTHER LATCH FAILURE IN FEBRUARY 2017. AGAIN REPLACED UNDER RECALL. WE HAVE HAD A FOURTH LATCH FAILURE AUG 2018. PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS INJURE AND DEFECT WAS DISCOVERED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION. FORD IS REFUSING TO COVER THE COST OF REPAIR. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE AND THEY REFUSE TO COVER IT.

REAR HATCH LOCK RECALL 2011 FORD FIESTA SES HATCHBACK REAR HATCH LOCK MALFUNCTION. REAR HATCH (DOOR) WILL NOT REMAIN CLOSED WHEN PARKED AND WILL OPEN WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY ONCE CLOSED, POTENTIALLY INJURING VEHICLE OPERATOR / OWNER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH AT NIGHT, THE CONTACT WAS PULLED OVER BY A STATE TROOPER WHO ALERTED HER THAT THE VEHICLE'S HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COURTESY AUTO & TRUCK CENTER (103 E HILL ST, THORP, WI 54771) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY JUNCTION BOX HAD CORRODED ALL THE HEADLIGHT WIRING, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SHUTTERING, STALLING AND JERKING IRRATICLY WHILE IN MOTION, ON THE STREET/ HIGHWAY SOMETIMES ROLLS BACKWARD AND FORWARD ON REVERSE HAVE NOTIFIED MANUFACTURE THEY WON'T HELP PUT IN SHOP REPLACED TRANSMISSION COST 1700 AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS BUT WORSE NOW WHEN TURNING JERKS AND SHAKES AND IS LEAKING TRIED TO GET IT FIXED AGAIN NO MECHANIC WILL DO THE WORK PLUS NOW MY WARRANTY IS EXPIRED AND I CAN NO LONGER AFFORD REPAIRS. THIS WILL BE THE THIRD ATTEMPT ON REPAIRING THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS TO BE DRIVING ON THE ROAD CAN CAUSE MANY ACCIDENTS DUE TO POWER TRAIN MALFUNCTION. FORD AND OTHER MECHANICS DON'T WANT TO DO THE WORK TO REPAIR THE CAR PLUS ALL MODELS TRANSMISSIONS ARE FAULTY REGARDLESS IF IT GETS REPLACED. CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED!!

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
I HAD COMPLAINED OF A GRINDING OR CLUNKING SOUND WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. SOUND AND SHUDDER TO STEERING WHEEL SEEMED LIKE IT WAS BETWEEN STEERING WHEEL AND STEERING GEAR. I LOOKED UP ONLINE ARTICLES AND IT MENTIONED STEERING BY WIRE AND OTHER MISDIRECTION. SEEMED TO ME TO BE SOMETHING LIKE A UNIVERSAL JOINT; BUT THIS IS NOT MY EDUCATED DIAGNOSIS, JUST A THOUGHT. DEALER SERVICE WRITERS CONTINUED TO SAY SOMETHING AKIN TO "YEAH, THAT'S WHAT THEY DO AND IT'S NORMAL FOR THAT VEHICLE/MODEL/ETC". ON 6/11/18, WHEN I GO TO PICK UP VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER PROBLEM, [WHICH HAD RECALLS AND CONTINUES TO CAUSE PROBLEMS THAT ARE FIXED "UNDER WARRANTEE" SEE FORD "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAMS 14M01, 14M02" AND FORD "SOFTWARE UPDATE PROGRAM 15B22] I AM TOLD I NEED TO HAVE RECOMMENDED WORK DONE. THIS RECOMMENDED WORK READS AS FOLLOWS: ITEM 03 CONCERN: STEERING COLUMN SHAFT CLUNKING/BINDING WHEN TURING (SIDE NOTE: YES, WRITTEN AS "TURING"!) LEFT OR RIGHT. VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH OLD DESIGN STEERING COLUMN SHAFT. UPDATED PARTS AVAILABLE TO CORRRECT AND PREVENT CONCERN FROM REAPPEARING. CORRECTION: CUSTOMER DOES NOT WANT WORK DONE". [END OF WORK RECOMMENDED ON FORM]. IT IS NOT THAT I DON'T WANT THE WORK COMPLETED, IT IS THAT I HAVE BEEN BRINGING UP THIS PROBLEM FOR AT LEAST 4 YEARS; IE, UNDER WARRANTEE TIME AND MILEAGE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUES, WHICH BROUGHT ME TO YOUR SITE. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEM UP UNTIL NOW OTHER THAN THE SOUND AND CREAKING FEEL IN STEERING WHEEL. WHAT HAS ME UPSET FIRST IS THAT ALL THE SUDDEN THERE IS NOW!!! UPDATED PARTS AVAILABLE; PREVIOUSLY, IT WAS "NORMAL SOUND AND FEEL". FROM 6/20, UNTIL 6/27/18 DAILY, I CALLED THE FORD WEST REP FOR CALIF CENTRAL VALLEY AREA @ 866/631-3788. THE PHONE CIRCLE ENDS WITH OPTIONS "LEAVE A MESSAGE" OR "FOR OPERATOR, PUSH 0" WHICH CUTS OFF THE PHONE CONNECTION. THIS "NORMAL" STEERING CLUNK APPEARS TO HAVE NOW BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE RPMS INCREASED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEN GRODY FORD (6211 BEACH BLVD, BUENA PARK, CA 90621) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM WAS FRACTURED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,587.
THE CAR HAS HAD SEVERAL TRANSMISSION ISSUES, WITHOUT WARNING - THE CAR WOULD IDLE BY ITSELF WHEN I WAS PARKED OR AT A STOP SIGN. WHEN DRIVING THE CAR WOULD SPEED UP WITHOUT STEPPING DOWN ON THE GAS. IN RECENT REVIEWS IT LOOKS LIKE THE 2011 FORD FIESTAS HAS DEFECTED TRANSMISSIONS?
I FIRMLY BELIEVE MY VEHICLE WAS MEANT TO BE INCLUDED IN THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION RECALL BUT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NEVER INCLUDED IN RECALL SEARCHES. HOWEVER, I HAD BEEN HAVING SLIGHT ISSUES WITH IT FOR A WHILE, LIKE IT SEEMING TO SLIP GEARS OR EVEN 'CATCH' AT TIMES. I HAD TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND TOLD THEM WHAT I THOUGHT IT COULD BE. I'M A SMALLER FEMALE, AND THE MAN I SAID IT TO LAUGHED AND TOLD ME THAT WAS HIS JOB AND NOT MINE AND THAT I DIDN'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT IT. FINALLY IN MAY OF LAST YEAR, I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE (IN A STRAIGHT STRETCH ABOUT TO GET OFF AN EXIT) AND OUT OF NOWHERE MY CAR BASICALLY STARTED STALLING OUT, AND JERKING AND KICKING BACK. GETTING IT BACK HOME WAS A NIGHTMARE, DUE TO IT HAVING SUCH TROUBLE GOING UPHILL OR EVEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. AFTER THAT HAPPENED, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAD PURCHASED IT AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THEY AGAIN SAID MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF THAT RECALL. I CALLED THE CORPORATE OFFICE, I'VE DONE EVERYTHING I CAN THINK OF. THAT CAR HAS SAT IN ONE SPOT FOR OVER A YEAR, I STILL MAKE MY MONTHLY PAYMENTS. I EVEN GOT ONE OF THOSE CODE READERS AND RAN IT ON MY CAR, AND SURE ENOUGH IT SAID WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG. I HAD TO QUIT A GOOD PAYING JOB AND START WORKING AT A NEARBY GAS STATION BECAUSE I HAVE NO WAY TO GET TO A JOB FURTHER AWAY, LET ALONE ENOUGH TO PAY FOR A TOW OR REPAIRS.
FOR NO APPARENT REASON, THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY CUT OFF, USUALLY WHEN IDLING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER COMES ON. MULTIPLE MECHANICS SAY THERE ARE NO DIAGNOSTICS SINCE THE SERVICE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON. WE'VE BEEN TOLD IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM, BUT NO RECALL AND FORD DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THE CAUSE IS.
"ENGINE MALFUNCTION" DISPLAYED ON SCREEN ONCE THE CAR IS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THIS NOTIFICATION GOES AWAY BUT CAME BACK 50 MILES LATER WHILE DRIVING. CONTACTED FORD ONLINE AND THEY COULD NOT TELL ME WHAT THE ISSUE IS. CONTACTING DEALER IN THE MORNING, JUST WANTED TO START DOCUMENTING THIS, THERE ARE SEVERAL POST FROM FIESTA OWNERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE AND DEALERSHIP NOR FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAVE NOT ADDRESSED OR RESOLVED THE ISSUE.
MY HUSBAND AND I BOUGHT A CAR FROM THEM. IT IS IN MY HUSBANDS NAME. MY HUSBAND IS NOT FROM THIS COUNTRY AND DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THINGS MEAN IN THEIR CONTEXT. THIS CAR WAS SOLD TO US AS IS WITH A BRANDED TITLE. WE ACCEPTED THAT. HOWEVER, THE CAR WAS SOLD TO US WITH BROKEN PARTS AND THE REPAIRS THAT WERE DONE TO IT WERE NOT DONE TO STANDARD OEM SPECIFICATIONS. THE CAR WAS SOLD TO US WITH A BROKEN FRONT AXEL. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE HAD THIS COMPLETELY BROKEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND WE WERE IN A WRECK THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN BAD. THE CAR IS NOT FIXED AT THIS TIME AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT DUE TO THE PAPERS THAT WERE SIGNED BY MY HUSBAND THAT OF WHICH I AM SURE HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS SIGNING BEING SOMEONE WHO HAS NEVER BOUGHT A CAR BEFORE. I DO T FEEL THAT THIS CAR LOT SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO SELL THE CAR IN THIS CONDITION EVEN AS IS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF WE HAVE ANY RIGHTS HERE. THANK YOU!
I'VE ONLY OWNED MY FIESTA FOR 2 YEARS AND NOW MY CAR WON'T MOVE WHEN I AM IN DRIVE OR REVERSE AS I STEP ON THE GAS PEDDLE TO ACCELERATE. BEFORE THIS, MY CAR WOULD JERK FORWARD WHEN I WOULD GO TO ACCELERATE AND ACT AS IF IT WAS GOING TO STALL OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I'VE TAKEN IT TO FORD BEFORE TO GET THE RECALLS FIXED BECAUSE MY PASSENGER DOOR SWUNG OPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND THEY FIXED THE TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH RECALL BUT NOW I'M HAVING PROBLEMS AGAIN.
TAILS LIGHTS , DOME LIGHTS INSIDE OF THE CAR DASH LIGHTS, RADIATOR ( THERMOSTAT) FAILURE CAUSING OVER HEATING .AND CAR SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING THE FUSE BOX IS CORRODED , THE BOX WAS NOT PROPERLY MADE AS THERE IS A VENT HOLE ON IT ALLOWING SALT FROM THE WINTER STREETS DIRT WATER ETC TO ENTER THE BOX AND NOW WE HAVE TO REPLACE THE BOX, FUSES AND SEVERAL ELECTRICAL CORD ISSUES . MY PHONE IS NOT ALLOWING ME TO UP LOAD MY PHOTOS
DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH RANDOMLY CAME OPEN DURING DRIVING AND NOW DOOR WILL NOT SHUT
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE HIGHWAY, IT WAS SLOW TRAFFIC, AND UPON SLOWING DOWN, I FELT A LURCH AND A HIGH PITCH. THE CAR CONTINUED TO DRIVE, AND UPON ARRIVING TO WORK A FEW MINUTES AWAY, THE CAR BEGAN TO SMELL BAD. I PARKED AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. I TURNED THE CAR ON AGAIN AND IT WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS. I HAD TO GET MY CAR TOWED. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT A MECHANIC, AND HE SUBLET THE JOB TO A FORD TECH WHO IS NOW SAYING THAT THE TRANSMISSION BLEW UP. SO NOW A TRANSMISSION, TRANS COMPUTER, CLUTCHES, AND FORK HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND THEY ARE CHARGING $5250 FOR THE JOB. THE CAR SHOWED NOTHING WRONG ASIDE FROM THE WEIRD LURCH. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, NO TROUBLE CODES. THE ONLY THING I SAW WAS AFTER PARKING THE CAR AND TURNING IT BACK ON, A POPUP FLASHED ON THE SCREEN SAYING TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION.
FUSE BOX IS FILLED WITH DIRT. APPARENTLY IT'S AN ISSUE ON 2011 FIESTA. I WAS NOT INFORMED BY FORD ABOUT THE ISSUE. THEY HAD SOME TYPE OF RECALL ON THAT: TSB 17B16. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. THE CAR SHUTS DOWN OCCASIONALLY ON IDLE, WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY. VERY SUDDEN, "CLEAN" SHUTDOWNS. NO ROUGH IDLE. QUITE OFTEN I WOULD NOT REALIZE THAT THE ENGINE IS DOWN UNTIL I PRESS ACCELERATOR AND THERE IS NO ACTION. IT IS OUT OF THE BLUE. DANGEROUS IN TRAFFIC!
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN JANUARY OF 2018. 3 OR SO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT WAS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED(FORTUNATELY THIS FELL UNDER WARRANTY SO IT WAS NO COST TO ME) AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, I DID NOT CHECK TO SEE IF THE AC WAS IN WORKING ORDER SINCE IT WAS WINTER. NOW THAT IT'S GOTTEN WARMER, I FIND THAT IT DOES NOT WORK. THE UNIT WAS CHARGED AND THE COMPRESSOR WAS NOT DEFECTIVE. AFTER 3 HOURS OF DIAGNOSTICS, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS WATER IN THE FUSE BOX. THE ENTIRETY OF THE FUSE BOX WAS HEAVILY CORRODED. ALL OF THE FUSES HAD TO BE REPLACED, AS WELL AS FOAM SEALS PLACED, AND DIELECTRIC GREASE PLACED ON ALL THE FUSES TO PROTECT THEM FROM FUTURE DAMAGE. THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH THE AC, AS WELL AS A PROBLEM I WAS HAVING WITH THE VEHICLE JERKING UPON ACCELERATION. I SUSPECT THAT THIS MAY HAVE BEEN THE REASON FOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILURE AS WELL. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY FORD BUT A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN PLACED YET, SO ALL OF THESE ISSUES ARE EXPECTED TO BE PAID FOR BY ME. IF THE REPAIR HAD BEEN DELAYED ANY LONGER, I BELIEVE THAT MORE ELECTRICAL/FUSE ISSUES WOULD HAVE SURFACED.
OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS, SOON AFTER PURCHASING FROM A DEALER, MY 2011 FORD FIESTA WILL NOT GAIN SPEED AS IT SHOULD WHEN DRIVING IN TOWN. WILL SHUDDER WHEN GOING UP SMALL INCLINES. MY SON WAS ALMOST KILLED OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND WHEN HIS VEHICLE POWER WENT DOWN TO AROUND 35 IN A 55 MPH ZONE AND WOULD NOT GET OVER THE 35MPH. THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, BUT THE CLOSEST TIME HE HAS COME TO LOSING HIS LIFE BY BEING HIT. WE CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID SOMEONE WOULD CALL BACK AS WE HAVE SEEN A RECURRING THEM OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS REPORTED ON THE INTERNET BUT FORD HAS NOT BEEN RESPONSIVE AND IT HAS BEEN ALMOST TWO MONTHS. HE IS TO AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR ANY LONGER SO IT JUST SITS UNUSEABLE IN MY DRIVEWAY.

THERE ARE RECALLS ON WHERE FORD EXTENDED THE TCM WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS 150,000 MILES WHICH I BELIEVE MAY HAVE LEAD TO THE FAILURE OF MY TRANSMISSION. THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN ANKENY IOWA SAYS THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME TO FIX THIS PROBLEM..

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND DEEMED DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER FOR THE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

I WAS AT THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK WHEN MY CAR WOULDN'T START. I HAVE A AAA MEMBERSHIP SO THEY CAME AND JUMPED MY CAR. WE DROVE A COUPLE MILES BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY BUT IT WAS WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY . WE CALLED OUR FORD DEALERSHIP IN WISCONSIN THAT WE ALWAYS GO TO AND THEY TOLD US THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WILL PREVENT CAR FROM STARTING , DRAIN YOUR BATTERY , AND NOT ALLOW CAR TO SHIFT PROPERLY. THE DRIVE DOWN THE MOUNTAIN WAS VERY SCARY THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT RIGHT AND JERKED THE CAR VIOLENTLY. THE DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY WAS NOT MUCH BETTER, WE HAD SEMI'S ALMOST HIT US. FLASHING LIGHTS AT US BECAUSE WE COULD NOT SPEED UP. WE CALLED AROUND NO ONE HAD THE PART WE NEEDED. WITH IT BEING THE WEEKEND SOME FORD SERVICE SHOPS WEREN'T EVEN OPEN. WE WERE TOLD NOT TO SHUT CAR OFF BECAUSE IT MIGHT NOT START AGAIN SO WE DROVE ALL NIGHT LONG FOR 26 HOURS HOME AT 50 MPH BECAUSE WE COULD NOT GO ANY FASTER. THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 75 MPH AND SEVERAL TIMES WE HAD CARS GET RIGHT ON OUR BUMPER AND SWITCHING LANES AT THE LAST SECOND. FINALLY MY HUSBAND PUT OUR HAZARD LIGHTS ON SO OTHER DRIVERS WOULD REALIZE WE WERE UNABLE TO GO FAST. IT WAS A SCARY AND NERVE RACKING EXPERIENCE. THE FORD FIESTA HAS A REALLY BAD TRANSMISSION THAT HAS BROKEN ON US BEFORE AND FORD KEEPS EXTENDING THE WARRANTY BUT THAT DOESN'T GIVE US PEACE OF MIND WHEN TRAVELING. I HAVE TO WORRY EVERY TIME I TRAVEL THAT THIS CAR WILL BREAK DOWN. IN FACT I HAVE RENTED CARS 3 TIMES TO TRAVEL BECAUSE I DON'T TRUST MY FORD. THIS VACATION I DECIDED IT WAS A WASTE OF MONEY TO RENT A CAR FOR A WEEK AND I TOOK MY FORD AND IT LET MY FAMILY DOWN FOR THE LAST TIME. THIS CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED BECAUSE IT IS NOT SAFE. DRIVER DOOR WON'T CLOSE. DOOR LATCH IS BROKEN. WENT TO LOCK IT AFTER GETTING OUT AND THE DRIVER DOOR WON'T CLOSE.
ENGINE STALLS WHEN PUSHING IN CLUTCH. I HAVE HAD IT STALL AT LIGHTS, STOP SIGNS AND WHILE DOWN SHIFTING. HAS HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION BUT ALWAYS WHEN PUSHING THE CLUTCH IN OTHERWISE MOST STALLS ARE OCCURRING WHEN CAR IS STATIONARY WITH THE CLUTCH PUSHED DOWN WHILE WAITING AT LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, ETC. CAR JUST STALLS OUT. GENERALLY IT CAN AND HAS HAPPENED ANYTIME YOU PUSH DOWN ON THE CLUTCH. I HAVE HAD THE CAR 2 MONTHS SO FAR AND HAVE HAD THE CAR STALL AT LEAST 30 TIMES ALREADY AND AT LEAST 5 OF THOSE STALLS HAPPENED WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN GOING ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND ONCE WHEN HALFWAY ENTERING A ROUND ABOUT. I HAVE NOT HAD IT STALL ONCE CAR GETS PASSED SECOND GEAR BUT I WILL NOT PUT ANYONE IN MY CAR AS I'VE ALREADY ENCOUNTERED ALMOST BEING HIT A COUPLE OF TIMES BECAUSE OF ENGINE STALLING OUT ONCE THE CAR STARTING MOVING. PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS AS I HAVE GOOGLED THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS CAR WITH NO CLEAR IDEA AS TO WHAT IS CAUSING IT.
DOOR LATCH FAILS
WHILE STOPPED (AT A RED LIGHT, STOP LIGHTS, ETC.), WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED, THE CAR WILL STALL AND NOT MOVE. THE VEHICLE ACTS AS IF IT IS OFF. I HAD TO DOUBLE CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT IT DID NOT STALL (WHICH IT DOES FREQUENTLY). ONCE I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS, THE CAR FINALLY MOVED AGAIN. THIS IS SCARY BECAUSE IT OFTEN OCCURS IN TRAFFIC. ALSO, WHEN BACKING UP, THE CAR WILL SHUDDER WHILE IN REVERSE AND ACT AS IF IT WANTS TO STALL OUT. THERE WILL BE TIMES WHEN IT ACTUALLY DOES STALL AND COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. I WILL HAVE TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTART THE CAR BEFORE I CAN MOVE IT ANY FURTHER.
THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FLEW OPEN (IT WAS STATIONARY) UPON TRYING TO CLOSE IT AND LOCK IT. THE LATCH WAS BROKEN. IT WOULD NOT LATCH AT ALL, AND I HAD TO RATCHET STRAP IT CLOSED JUST SO THE CAR WOULD ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE DOOR WAS IN FACT SHUT. WHEN GOING UP HILLS OR TURNING, THE DOOR TRIES TO FLY OPEN AND THE INSIDE LIGHTS AND ALARM WILL SOUND NOTIFYING THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR. ALSO, WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, ESPECIALLY AT A SLOW SPEED, THERE IS A LOUD CLICK-LIKE SOUND WHILE DRIVING. I HAD TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP EARLIER AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE NOISE BUT NEVER GOT ANY INFORMATION FROM THEM, IT WAS BLOWN OFF AS IF IT WASN'T A BIG DEAL. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT COULD BE THE UNDERCARRIAGE OR HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE STEERING COLUMN ITSELF.
THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION FAILURE, ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, AND BRAKE PROBLEMS. THE ENGINE DIES WHILE DRIVING. ALTHOUGH SEVEN YEARS OLD, IT HAS LESS THAN 40,000 MILES ON IT FROM IT BEING WORKED ON CONSTANTLY. IT IS USELESS AS A VEHICLE.
5 TIMES REPAIRED FOR SOME OF THE SAME THING. CLUTCH REPLACED 3 OUT OF 5, SHAFT SEALS REPLACED, REPROGRAMMED SEVERAL TIMES PCM/TCM, PP TEST SHUDDER, PERFORMED SEVERAL ADAPTIVE LEARN STRATEGIES. IN SUMMARY WE HAVE A LEMON. IF MY SON NEEDED TO GET OUT OF THE WAY IN A HURRY, AND COULDN'T DUE TO THE FAULTY PARTS ON HIS CAR. HE COULD BE KILLED OR INJURED REAL BAD. THEN THERE WOULD BE A BIG LAW SUIT.
RADIO STOPS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY AND LOUD STATIC SOUNDS PERSIST EVEN WHEN THE RADIO APPEARS TO BE OFF. THE SOUND IS DISTRACTING AND CAN GET REALLY LOUD TO THE POINT THAT IT IS UNBEARABLE. ONLY SOLUTION IS TO PULL OVER AND STOP THE CAR. THE SOUND CONTINUES FOR A FEW SECONDS EVEN AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF.
TRANSMISSION SHUDDER AND UNRELIABILITY: MY CAR FREQUENTLY SHUDDERS WHEN I START AND, SOMETIMES THE AUTOMATIC POWERTRAIN BRIEFLY DETACHES; IN OTHER WORDS, APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL ON SUCH OCCASIONS SIMPLY MAKES THE ENGINE WHINE, WITH NO PROPULSIVE RESPONSE. THIS HAS BECOME A DANGEROUS CIRCUMSTANCE -- MUST BE ABLE TO RELY ON THE TRANSMISSION RESPONDING TO CHANGES IN PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL. THE PROBLEM IS MOST ACUTE WHEN I'M ACCELERATING FROM A STOP; ON THE MOST RECENT OCCASION, I BEGAN FORWARD MOTION AT A STOP LIGHT, BUT THEN THE TRANSMISSION DETACHED AND I JUST 'FLOATED' INTO THE INTERSECTION. REMOVING MY FOOT FROM THE PEDAL AND REAPPLYING PRESSURE OVERCAME THE PROBLEM, IN THAT INSTANCE. THE CAR ALSO SHUDDERS VIOLENTLY AS I START, OR IF I AM GOING UPHILL SLOWLY (SUCH AS IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC). I THOUGHT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL OF THE FIESTA TO ADDRESS TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS, BUT I SEE NO SUCH RECALL ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE.
THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY RECALLED FOR A DOOR LATCH ISSUE WHICH WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL ON APRIL 6, 2016. THE REPLACED DOOR LATCH ON THE PASSENGER DOOR FAILED ON 6/11/17 FOR THE SAME REASON - THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH. THE PASSENGER HAD EXITED THE VEHICLE AT A GAS STATION AND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SHUT THE DOOR ALL IT WOULD DO WAS BOUNCE AND STAY OPEN. THE ORIGINAL DOOR LATCHES HAD WORKED FINE FROM AUGUST 2010, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, TO APRIL OF 2016. THE RECALL REPLACEMENT LATCH LASTED FROM APRIL 2016 TO JUNE 2017. IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH THE REPLACEMENT LATCHES? I HAVE JUST GOTTEN THE CAR BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AFTER THEIR REPAIR.
RIGHT REAR DOOR LATCH FAILED. I WAS PARKED AND WARNING LIGHT ALERTED ME TO IT WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE AGAIN. HAD TO PAY TO HAVE IT REPLACED AT DEALER.
MY VEHICLE DEVELOPED A LOW SPEED ACCELERATION SHUDDER. IT WAS "FIXED" UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN IT REAPPEARED I FOUND OUT IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD CONTINUOUSLY REAPPEAR. I WAS FIXED AGAIN UNDER AN EXTENDED 100,000 MILE WARRANTY AT 86,000 MILES. OCCURRED AGAIN AT 96,000 MILES BUT IT "PASSED" THE SHUDDER TEST AND WOULDN'T BE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. IT IS NOW SHUDDERS TERRIBLY AND AT 104,000 ALL FUTURE REPAIRS WILL COST $2000 EACH TIME.

IN WHICH CASE THEY COULDN'T RECREATE THE PROBLEM SO CARMAX HAD IT FOR ALMOST A MONTH AND COULDN'T RECREATE IT EITHER SO THEY HAD NO OTHER CHOICE BUT GIVE ME BACK THE DEATH TRAP THAT WILL TAKE MY LIFE. SINCE HAVING THE CAR BACK IT HAS DIED ON ME TWICE I CALLED FORD JOE MYERS THEY DON'T OFFER LOANER CARS AND I DON'T BELIEVE I SHOULD PAY FOR A RENTAL FOR THEIR PROBLEM. IN BOTH CASES I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE TOOL LIGHT CAME ON AND MALFUNCTION APPEARED. I WAS JUST DRIVING MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS WHEN IT STARTED TO SLOW DOW AND STOP. WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF IT'S LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED. PLEASE HELP

THE FORD PLACE SAID THAT IN ORDER TO FIX THE WINDOWS IT WOULD COST 100.00 DOLLARS TO FIX AND THEY SWEAR UP AND DOWN THST THEY DIDN'T WORK IN THE DOORS BUT THE HAD TO REPLACE THE LATCHES. THE WINDOS WASWORKING FINE UNTIL I TOOK IT TO SHAFFER FORD.THEY SAID IN THE SHOP THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH AND THE CONTROL MODULE BUT IT SEEMED TO SHIFT FINE AND I NOW HAVE A WRENCH LIGHT AND NOT THE OIL LIGHT BESIDE THE WRENCH ONE BUT ANOTHER ONE AND THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION ALERT COMES ON IN THE DISPLAY. MY GIRLFRIEND IS PREGNANT AND WHEN IT JERKS WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IT PULLS THE CAR SEAT TIGHT ON HER BELLY AND EVERYTIME IT HURTS HER. I BELIEVE IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE AND MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. IF I KNEW ABOUT THIS CAR BEFORE I STATED THE FINANCE, I WOULD OF PURCHASED SOMETHING ELSE.
