AFTER DRIVING UP A STEEP HILL SEVERAL TIMES, THE SHIFT CHANGE BECAME ROUGH, AND THE CAR OFTEN SHUDDERED WHEN ACCELERATING AT A LOW SPEED LIKE A POORLY DRIVEN STICK SHIFT VEHICLE. THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED ONCE, BUT THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 10,000 MILES AFTER THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. WHILE, AT A COMPLETE STOP THE TRANSMISSION JERKED VIOLENTLY, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ENGAGE ACCELERATION SLOWLY AND SHAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION TWICE. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
2013 FORD FIESTA HAS WATER LEAKING INTO TRUNK AREA FROM REAR SEAT TO BACK OF CAR. CAR HAS BEEN TO DEALER SEVEN TIMES FOR REPAIR AND STILL HAS WATER LEAK IN TRUNK AREA. ALSO VEHICLE HAS A HESITATION WHEN PULLING OUT, TRANSMISSION JERKS AND MAKES GRINDING NOISE. CAR HAS BEEN TO DEALER TWO TIMES TO HAVE TRANSMISSION CHECKED. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED TWO TIMES AND STILL HAS SAME PROBLEM. DEALER SAYS THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION FOR THIS TRANSMISSION. CAR FEELS UNSAFE WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC, FEELS LIKE ENGINE IS GOING TO STALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED, FAILED TO ACCELERATE, AND THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
PARKED AND ENGINE OFF: WHEN REFUELING, THE GAS BUILDS UP, AS IT "BURPS" GAS SPILLS OUT UNDER THE CAR WHEEL AND ON TO THE PAVEMENTS. THE REFUELING TAKES FOREVER, SINCE WE PURCHASED IT - WE SMELLED OUR HANDS & SHOES SMELLING LIKE GAS, BUT DIDN'T CONNECT IT IMMEDIATELY TO FUEL SYSTEM ISSUE SINCE IT WAS A NEW CAR.
THE TRANSMISSION MAKES ALL KIND OF NOISES, JERKS, BOGS DOWN, AND HAS EVEN ALMOST STALLED GOING UP A HILL I'VE TAKEN IT TO FORD AND THEY SAID ITS "NORMAL". *TR
MAKES NOISE WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 30-50 ML/H FROM DAY ONE. MANY TIMES, FROM STATIONARY TO MOVE, IT WILL SUDDENLY JUMP, ACCELERATE, HARD TO CONTROL. HAS KNOWN TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND SOMETIME WILL NOT START.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE SPEED SUDDENLY DECELERATED AND WOULD NOT RESPOND WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED. THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER WAS REPROGRAMMED AND NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED TO THE CONTACT REGARDING THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE DEFECT AFTER TEH REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND NO SOLUTION WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,500.
VEHICLE EVEN AFTER NUMEROUS SOFTWARE UPDATES AND TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT CONTINUES TO WEAR OUT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CLUTCH. VEHICLE HESITATES SEVERELY DURING 1 AND 2ND AUTOMATIC GEARS AND THE TRANSMISSION "SHUDDERS". FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND EXTENDED THE WARRANTY BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIX IT. THIS PROBLEM IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT ONTO A ROAD. THE SLIPPING TRANSMISSION SOMETIMES DOESN'T ALLOW VEHICLE TO NORMALLY ACCELERATE ONTO TRAFFIC. *TR

I WAS STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION WAITING ON TRAFFIC. FINALLY GOT A SMALL GAP AND HIT THE ACCELERATOR TO PROCEED INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION, IT CLATTERED, THEN HESITATED AND WOULD NOT GO. AFTER ABOUT 3 SECONDS, WHICH FELT LIKE ETERNITY WHEN YOU CARS COMING TOWARDS YOU ON BOTH SIDES, IT FINALLY WENT. NO ACCIDENT, BUT WAY TOO CLOSE FOR MY COMFORT. I'VE HAD THIS CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. THEY HAVE REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION EVERY TIME BUT IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. ABOUT FOUR WEEKS AGO I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR LOST COMPLETE POWER, ACTED AS IF IT WERE IN NEUTRAL. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD BUT THEY SAY IT IS WITHIN THEIR TOLERANCE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR MY DAUGHTER BUT I AM AFRAID TO LET HER DRIVE WITHOUT ME. WHEN I FINALLY HAVE TO GIVE THIS CAR TO MY SIXTEEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, AND SHE LOSES HER LIFE BECAUSE OF THIS TRANSMISSION, IS WILL NOT BE TOLERABLE. *TR
MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION, JERKING, SHUTTERING, LOSS OF POWER. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT FORD SAYS IS BECAUSE OF THE AUTOMATIC CLUTCH.
TRANSMISSION HESITATES AND CRACKLES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOPS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONSTANTLY ON.
LAST NIGHT I WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY, THERE WAS TRAFFIC CONGESTION AND I TRIED TO BRAKE BUT THE BRAKES DIDN'T RESPOND EVEN WHEN I PUSHED THE BRAKE UNTIL THE END. FINALLY, MY CAR IMPACTED THE OTHER CAR. AFTER THAT, WHEN I TRIED TO MOVE THE CAR TO THE SIDE, I ALMOST COLLIDE THE CAR AGAIN BECAUSE THIS TIME THE BRAKE WAS BLOCKED AND I HAD TO PUT THE PARKING POSITION QUICKLY. THIS HAPPEN TO ME BEFORE BUT I WAS IN A PARKING LOT, THE SPEED WAS VERY LOW AND I COULD CONTROL THE SITUATION. I DIDN'T PAY TO MUCH ATTENTION IN THAT MOMENT WHEN BECAUSE IT DIDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL LAST NIGHT WHEN I HAD THE ACCIDENT. I ALSO HAVE BEEN FACING PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING OF THE CAR. I TURNED ON THE CAR AND WHEN I PUT IT IN DIRECT, THE CAR WENT BACKWARD AND THE OPPOSITE, I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND THE CAR WENT FORWARD. IT HAPPENED LIKE THREE TIMES. DURING THIS YEAR. FIRST NOTICED A LEAK STAIN ON MY DRIVE SO TOOK IT IN FORD DEALERSHIP THEY DIDNT PUT IT ON HOIST JUST LAID UNDER IT SAID OH NO ITS FINE SO I DROVE IT LONGER TOOK IT IN TO LOCAL SPEED LUBE TO GET OIL CHANGE AND THEY WOULDNT TOUCH IT SAYING THAT I WAS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID SO I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO FORD DEALERSHIP FINALLY THEY PUT IT ON HOIST AND SAID OH YEAH IT IS LEAKING I HAVE A LIST OF EVERYTHING THEY DID TO IT ( BUT ITS IN THE CAR AND THE CAR IS CURRENTLY BACK IN SHOP SO I DONT HAVE IT WITH ME) PICKED IT UP SEVERAL DAYS LATER ON THE WAY BACK TO WORK THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN SO I TAKE IT BACK THEY SAY IT WAS THE COMPUTER STUFF NEEDS RESET SO BY THE END OF MY WORKDAY I PICKED IT UP ABOUT A MILE IT SEEMED FINE NEXT DAY ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN THE CAR WAS JERKING WOULD NOT ECCELLERATE ALMOST GOT INTO A WRECK TOOK IT RIGHT BACK TO SHOP 4TH TIME NOW...AT ONE POINT WHILE DRIVING IT MY SON WAS WITH ME AND ASKS WHAT ARE YOU DOING MOM I TELL HIM ITS NOT ME ITS THE CAR AND I KNOW ITS SUPPOSE TO SHIFT AND IT HAS SINCE I'VE BOUGHT IT BUT NEVER LIKE THIS.... *TR
TRANSMISSION MADE DISTRACTING GRINDING NOISES AND DANGEROUS LUNGING LURCHING UNSTEADY INTERMITTENT MOVEMENTS DURING CITY DRIVING. *TR
HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR A YEAR. PAST FEW MONTHS HAVING LOTS OF DIFFICULTY GOING FROM STOP TO 1ST GEAR. HESITATES, SHAKES, MAKES GRINDING AND SCARY NOISES WHEN SHIFTING. WAS DRIVING UP A HILL AND THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT IN A LOW GEAR WHICH WAS THE REASON FOR GETTING IT IN TO THE DEALER IN A HURRY. THE CAR IS DANGEROUS, IT HESITATES. IT IS SCARY TO PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC AND NOT HAVE THE CAR GO WHEN IT SHOULD. NOW MY CAR IS SITTING AT THE FORD DEALER FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS AND THEY CANNOT GET THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION. THEY CANNOT GIVE ME A DATE AS TO WHEN MY CAR WILL BE FIXED. I HAVE LOST ALL CONFIDENCE IN THE CAR, I WANT MY MONEY BACK. THE CAR SCARES ME AND I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE. *TR
I ALSO HAVE HAD ENGINE HESITATION WITH MY FIESTA SINCE THE FIRST DAYS WITH MY NEW CAR. FROM A STOP, EITHER ON A INCLINE OR FLAT SURFACE, THE CAR HAS TROUBLE ACCELERATING.IT SHAKES AND GIVE YOU A FEELING OF SAFETY CONCERNS THAT IT MIGHT STALL AND NOT MOVE FORWARD. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE THE CAR WILL TAKE A VERY LONG TIME, IF AT ALL, TO ADD TO YOUR SPEED. MAINTAINING YOUR SPEED WHILE DRIVING IS ALSO IMPOSSIBLE. THIS IS A UNSAFE CAR AND FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS MAJOR PROBLEM BEFORE A MORE SERIOUS ACCIDENT OCCURS. I DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO BE A STATISTIC TO BEGIN ACTION. DELIVERED ON 7/8/13 DEALER: JERSEY CITY FORD. DEAR FORD, WE ARE UPSET OVER THE REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH OUR 2013 FORD FIESTA, BRAND NEW ON 7/18/2013. THE CAR HAS BEEN BUCKING, GRINDING AND ALMOST STALLING. WHEN WE CALLED TO COMPLAIN OR ASK QUESTIONS WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. THE NEXT CALL AND VISIT FOR REPAIR WE WERE TOLD IT WAS THE NEW TRANSMISSION/ POWER SHIFT ON THE FIESTAS & FOCUS. ALSO INFORMED THERE WAS AN "OPEN RECALL" ON A PART THAT IS INVOLVED IN THE CLUTCH OF THESE NEW VEHICLES. THEY SAY IT SOUNDS/DRIVES AND FEELS LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION BUT ITS GOOD ON GAS. WELL, THE PROBLEM WITH THIS IS, WE TURNED IN A 2011 FORD FOCUS SE WITH THIS SAME TRANSMISSION THAT IS IN THE 2013 CARS AND NO WAY DID WE HAVE THESE PROBLEMS. HERE ARE THE FOLLOWING TIMES WE WENT TO JC FORD REPAIR: OCT 18, 2013 - SAME DAY STATES PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSION. MAY 2, 2014 - OIL CHANGE, COMPLAINED ABOUT TRANSMISSION BUT NOT ON DOCUMENTS. MAY 21, 2014 - LEFT CAR FOR A REBOOT OF ELECTRONICS ON THE CAR AND PICKED THE VEHICLE UP ON MAY 23, 2014. THEY ORDERED PART DUE TO "HESITATION AND SHUTTER" IN TRANSMISSION (THEY SAID IT WAS THE CLUTCH; OPEN RECALL ON A PART). MAY 28, 2014 LEFT VEHICLE AT FORD FOR REPLACEMENT OF PARTS AND REBOOT OF ELECTRONICS, PICKED VEHICLE UP ON JUNE 4, 2014. WHEN WE PICKED UP THE CAR ON JUNE 4TH, 2014, MY WIFE PULLED OUT OF THE GARAGE AND WENT 3 BLOCKS AND TURNED BACK TO THE FORD GARAGE. [XXX], THE REPAIR SECTION MANAGER CALLED THE MECHANIC THAT DID THE REPAIR AND HAD HIM TAKE A TEST DRIVE WITH HER. THE CAR SOUNDED AND RAN WORSE THAN WHEN WE BROUGHT IT IN AND HAD A NEW SOUND, THE FRONT END OR WHEELS WERE MAKING NOISE, BRAKES WERE SHAKY AND THE SAME TRANSMISSION PROBLEM SOUND WAS STILL THERE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE HESITATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION OPERATED AS NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. WHILE PULLING OUT OF A GAS STATION PARKING LOT INTO TRAFFIC THE TRANSMISSION SPUTTERED AND PAUSED FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS ALMOST CAUSING THE ON COMING TRAFFIC TO HIT MY CAR. THERE WAS ALMOST NO ROOM FOR THE ON COMING CAR TO GO AROUND ME. NEAR MISS FROM BEING HIT ON THE DRIVERS DOOR FROM THE FRONT OF THE ON COMING CAR. *TR
ON 10-9-13 ONLY AFTER A YEAR OWNING THE CAR I STARTED HAVING SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION SO I TOOK IT IN TO FORD TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THE CAR SHIFTING BECAME VERY HARSH AND THERE IS CONSIDERABLE JERKING, CLINKING AND VIBRATION. FORD AT THE TIME PERFORMED A REPROGRAMMING BUT THIS DID NOT SOLVED THE ISSUE. I TOOK THE CARD BACK TO FORD ON 11-7-13 TO COMPLAIN AGAIN BECAUSE THE NOISE AND CLUNKING HAD BECOME WORSE TO THE POINT I WAS NOT FEELING SAFE DRIVING THE CAR. FORD REPROGRAMMED ONCE AGAIN AND ORDERED THE PARTS NEEDED TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH. ON 12-10-13 LOUD BANGING NOISE HAD BECOME EXTREME AND FORD TOOK THE CAR IN AND PERFORMED EXTENSIVE WORK ON THE TRANSMISSION REPLACING THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY AND SEALS. ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE THERE WAS A LEAK AT THE BELL HOUSING (INPUT SEALS LEAKED) ALLOWING THE CLUTCH TO BE OIL SOAKED. ON 9-11-14 I TOOK THE CAR IN BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED AGAIN DISPLAYING THE SAME ISSUES. FORD AGREED TO REPAIR AND ORDERED THE PARTS NEEDED HOWEVER I WAS TOLD IT MIGHT TAKE OVER A MONTH. AFTER WAITING NEARLY TWO MONTHS I WAS FORCED TO TAKE THE CAR IN AGAIN ON 11-7-14 BECAUSE THE NOISE AND CLUNKING IS EXCESSIVE TO THE POINT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE. THIS WAS ONLY AUGMENTED WITH THE FACT LAST MONTH THE REAR DIVER SIDE LATCH BROKE AND YESTERDAY THE OTHER LATCH BROKE. FORD SERVICE MANAGER AGREED COMPLETELY THE FIESTAS AND FOCUS ARE NOT SAFE AND THEY HAVE A BACKLOG OF TRANSMISSIONS TO REPAIR. HE OFFERED ME TO COMPLAIN TO FORD AND GAVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER. HE SUGGESTED I CALLED AND FILE A COMPLAINT AND ATTEMPT TO RETURN THE CAR. I AM EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED AND WILL PURSUE RESOLUTION BY HAVING FORD TAKE THE CAR BACK. I CANNOT EXPOSE MY FAMILY AND MY OWN SAFETY BECAUSE FORD WOULD NOT COME FORWARD AND RECALL ALL THESE DEFECTS AT ONCE. *TR
I HAVE THE S PACKAGE, SO THE DOORS CAN ONLY BE LOCKED BY KEY OR BY THE INTERIOR POWER DOOR LOCK BUTTON. IF THE DOORS ARE LOCKED BY KEY (WHICH IS HOW I USUALLY LOCK MY CAR), AND THEN THE PASSENGER DOOR IS UNLOCKED FIRST, THE INTERIOR POWER DOOR LOCK BUTTON DOES NOT OPERATE. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM IN NUMEROUS WAYS: I DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM WHEN MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER WANTED TO SIT IN THE CAR WHILE I DID GROCERY SHOPPING AND COULD NOT LOCK HERSELF IN THE CAR (WHICH IS A SAFETY RULE I REQUIRE). ANOTHER PROBLEM WOULD BE IF I NEEDED TO GET INTO THE CAR QUICKLY FROM THE NEAREST SIDE IF I FELT UNSAFE, AND THEN LOCK MYSELF IN WHILE CALLING 911--CAN'T DO IT IN THIS CAR. ASIDE FROM SAFETY, THIS IS A REAL INCONVENIENCE. AFTER CONSULTING WITH THE HOTLINE THEY TOLD ME THE CAR WAS DESIGNED THIS WAY, SO THERE WAS NOTHING TO FIX. THEY EVEN TRIED IT ON SEVERAL CARS IN THEIR LOT AND THEY ALL MALFUNCTIONED THE SAME WAY. I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT THIS "DESIGN" FEATURE BEFORE I PURCHASED THE CAR--AND, BELIEVE ME, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A DEAL-BREAKER--BUT FORD WILL NOT ADMIT THAT IT IS A DESIGN FLAW. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2013 FORD FIESTA FROM A DEALERSHIP IN MAY OF 2013, IN OCTOBER OF 2013, MY NOT EVEN 6 MONTH OLD CAR, STARTED TO MAKE GRINDING AND CRUNCHING NOISES IN THE ENGINE AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOOK IT IN. THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND AFTER 8 WEEKS, I PICKED IT UP. THE NOISES WERE GONE, BUT QUICKLY CAME BACK A COUPLE MONTHS LATER, I KEPT GETTING TOLD IT WAS NORMAL, BUT IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I AM TRYING TO WORK WITH MY DEALERSHIP NOW TO QUICKLY GET THIS RESOLVED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MOVE INTO THE NEXT LANE, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED AND THE VEHICLE JOLTED ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED EACH TIME BUT TO NO AVAIL AND THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
I LEASED THIS AS MY FIRST NEW CAR. WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED IT, I LOVED IT. AS TIME WENT ON, I NOTICED THAT MY CAR WOULD START TO JERK AS I'D ACCELERATE AND THE SHIFTING WAS NEVER SMOOTH. WHEN I HAD AN OIL CHANGE, I ASKED ABOUT IT AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE IT WAS CONVERTED FROM A MANUAL TO AN AUTOMATIC (LIKE ALL THE AUTOMATIC FIESTAS), IT FELT LIKE I WAS SHIFTING GEARS. I'M NOT TOO GOOD WITH CARS, SO I TRUSTED FORD. IT GOT WORSE OVER TIME AND TO THIS DAY THEY SAY THAT IT IS NORMAL. I'VE WENT IN TWICE FOR RECALLS AND SERVICES ON MY CAR. THEY STILL SAY IT'S NORMAL. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. I'VE OPTED TO LEASE ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE I AM SO UNHAPPY WITH MY FORD. I STILL HAVE IT, BUT I DON'T LIKE TO DRIVE IT. IF I HAD TO DO IT AGAIN, I WOULD NEVER LEASE A FORD. TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS, LURCHES AND LOSS OF POWER
I AM EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH MY 2013 FORD FIESTA SE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT BETWEEN SPEEDS OF 5 AND ABOVE THAT THERE IS A CRUNCHING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CAR ALSO LUNGES WHEN SHIFTING OR SLOWING DOWN MAKING IT HARDER TO STOP. I HAVE CALLED FORD'S CONSUMER CARE HOTLINE AND WAS TOLD THIS IS A NORMAL TRAIT FOR THE VEHICLE, BUT WHEN I EXPLAINED THAT WHEN I TEST DROVE THE CAR, IT DID NOT DO ANY OF THIS. THE CAR NOW HAS 1300 MILES ON IT AND IT SEEMS THAT THE CRUNCHING, LUNGING AND HESITATION IS GETTING WORSE. I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR NOT BEING ADVISED OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE HAND. I PUT MY TRUST IN FORD AND EVIDENTLY THAT WAS THE WRONG THING TO DO. *TR
GOING UP A STEEP HILL IN MORNING RUSH HOUR BUMPER TO BUMPER. MY CAR STALL, STOPPED AND THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. THIS CAUSED ME TO GRAZE THE BUMPER OF THE CAR NEXT TO ME AND PUT A FEW VERY SMALL SCRATCHES ON THE REAR LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR. NO ACCIDENT REPORT NEEDED. THE DAMAGE WAS SO MINOR IT WAS ONLY VISIBLE AT A CLOSE LOOK. POLISH SEEM TO COVER IT. MY CAR WOULD NOT START MOVING UNTIL CARS A HEAD OF ME GAVE ME ENOUGH SAFE SPACE TO PUSH HARD ON THE ACCELERATOR AND GET THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TO KICK IN.THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. NOT LIFE THREATENING BUT SOMEONE COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY BEEN HURT. *TR
WHEN CHANGING LANES, WHICH REQUIRED ME TO ACCELERATE WHILE MERGING INTO FASTER-MOVING TRAFFIC, THE CAR'S TRANSMISSION MADE A LOT OF NOISE AND THE RPM'S WERE HIGH, BUT THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE (THIS OCCURRED TWICE IN ONE DAY). ONCOMING TRAFFIC CAME CLOSE TO HITTING ME, AND IT WAS FRIGHTENING. *TR

THEY SAID THAT THE DROVE IT AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. MY CAR WAS RETURNED AND I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT EVEN THOUGH I WAS NOT PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. IT WAS MY BELIEF THAT I WAS IGNORED BECAUSE I WAS A FEMALE. AFTER CONTINUED GRINDING AND STALLING BECOMING WORSE ESPECIALLY WHEN I WOULD PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC I AGAIN TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THE KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND GAVE ME A LOANER CAR WHICH CONSEQUENTLY WAS THE SAME CAR THAT I HAD AND THE LOANER CAR SOUNDED JUST AS BAD AS MY CAR. WHEN I PICKED MY CAR UP THEY MECHANIC SAID THAT THE SOUND I WAS HEARING WAS NORMAL FOR THE TYPE OF TRANSMISSION THAT I HAD WHICH WAS A HIGH PERFORMANCE TRANSMISSION AND THAT'S HOW THE CLUTCH WORKED. THE THIRD TIME I TOOK THE CAR IN WAS ON 4-19-2014 AFTER I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A CAR AFTER GOING INTO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SPUTTER REPEATEDLY FOR 10-15 SECONDS. THE SALESMAN SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THE COULD DO BECAUSE THAT IS HOW THE CAR RUNS AND IT MEETS ALL FEDERAL GUIDELINES. I AM CONCERNED THAT IT SHOULDN'T TAKE SOMEONE LOSING THEIR LIFE FOR THIS SITUATION TO BE RESOLVED. I FEEL THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE IT TRULY BECOMES A DEADLY MATTER. *TR
HAD TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS FROM A STOP POSITION. PRESENTLY IT HAS TROUBLE SHIFTING NOT ONLY IN LOW GEARS BUT ALL THE WAY UP TO 50MLS PR HR. WHEN SLOWING DOWN IT JERKS AND HESITATES. IN OCT 2014 TOOK IT BACK TO REPAIR AND WAS TOLD NEEDED NEW CLUTCH DUE TO INTERNAL OIL SEAL LEAK CONTAMINATION .NINE MONTHS LATER THE MANUFACTURER HAS STILL NEGLECTED TO REPAIR IT, I HAVE BEEN TOLD DUE TO BACKORDER OF PARTS. IT HAS ONLY 20,000K ON IT.
WHILE AT A STOP ON A FREEWAY ENTRANCE RAMP I SAW AN OPENING AND GENTLY STEPPED ON THE GAS. I SHOULD HAVE HAD EASY ENTRANCE TO THE FREEWAY BUT MY CAR TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT START THE CAR MOVING UNTIL I STEPPED ON THE EXCELLRATOR TO THE FLOOR. THE ON COMING CAR COMING BEHIND ME HAD TO MAKE A VERY DANGEROUS LANE CHANGE TO KEEP FROM SLAMMING INTO THE BACK OF THE CAR. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO EITHER CAR AND THE CAR BEHIND CONTINUED.
WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE THEY SAID MY OIL WAS LEAKING SO I TOOK IT INTO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP PUT SOME DYE IN MY ENGINE FLUID AND TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK AFTER I DROVE ANOTHER 500 MILES. WHEN I BROUGHT IT BACK IN THEY SAID MY TRANSMISSION HAD A LEAK. WHILE DRIVING IT FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS I'VE ALSO NOTICED IT SPUTTERING WHEN I ACCELERATE. THIS HAS SEEMED TO WORSEN SINCE TAKING IT IN AS WELL. MY CAR IS CONSTANTLY STALLING WHEN I MAKE LEFT TURNS OR START GOING AFTER BEING STOPPED OR SLOWING DOWN. I AM VERY CONCERNED AND SCARED THAT WHILE I AM DRIVING WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD IN THE BACKSEAT IT WILL STALL JUST A LITTLE TOO LONG AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT HARMING HIM. THERE HAVE BEEN SOME CLOSE CALLS ALREADY AND I AM NOT HAPPY TO DISCOVER MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH THE 2013 FORD FIESTAS. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE FOR ANYONE TO DRIVE. *TR
DUAL CLUTCH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXHIBITED ERRATIC, SHAKY AND SHUDDERED SHIFTING THROUGH ALL GEAR RANGES...CHARACTERISTIC WITH FORD'S TSB'S 11-12-13, 12-04-06, 13-4-5, AND 13-9-4. AFTER HAVING TO JUSTIFY THE ISSUE TO TWO DEALERSHIPS (WAS AN ACTUAL PROBLEM AND NOT ME DRIVING INCORRECT OR UNDERSTANDING THE TRANSMISSION) FORD REPLACED THE CLUTCH PACKS AND SEALS DUE TO LEAK ON 26 SEP 2013. ADDITIONALLY, FORD GAVE ME (AT NO COST) AN EXTENDED POWERTRAINCARE (5 YEAR/100,000 MILE) WARRANTY. LUCKILY NOBODY WAS INJURED DUE TO THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUE, AND THE VEHICLE DROVE FINE AFTER REPAIR! I THOUGHT ALL THIS WAS RESOLVED UNTIL FORD SENT ME A LETTER (AUG 2014) STATING THAT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 14M01 WAS EXTENDING WARRANTY ON THE FIESTA POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION TO 7 YEARS/100,000 MILES? AND, NOW WE'RE AT 22 SEP 2014 (21,700 MILES) AND THE TRANSMISSION IS STARTING TO EXHIBIT THE EXACT ISSUES AS IT DID JUST BEFORE THE FIRST FAILURE. I'VE CONTACTED FORD AND SCHEDULED A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR THIS NEW ISSUE. FURTHER DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT FORD HAS REDESIGNED THE CLUTCH SYSTEM (SINCE MY LAST FIX), AND ISSUED TSB 14-01-31. THAT'S FIVE TSB'S PLUS TWO WARRANTY EXTENSIONS IN 5 YEARS...AND STILL NO RECALL?? IN MY OPINION, FORD RUSHED THIS TRANSMISSION INTO MARKET (NOT FULLY TESTED), AND WE (THE CONSUMER) BECAME THE TEST SUBJECTS!! AT A GREEN LIGHT ABOUT TO TURN LEFT I STARTED MY TURN. M Y TRANSMISSION PAUSE BEFORE MAKING THE TURN. THE ON COMING CAR HAD TO SWERVE TO MISS ME AND ALMOST CRASHED INTO ANOTHER CAR. SINCE THERE WAS NO CONTACT ALL CARS CONTINUED WITH OUT STOPPING.
ON 02/27/2015 MY FORD FIESTA WITH 20,904 MILES WAS TAKEN IN FOR A TRANSMISSION ISSUE THAT BECAME POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING. WHEN MY WIFE APPROACHED AN INTERSECTION TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN AND CAME TO A STOP THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHUTTER AND BOG DOWN. THE IDLE PICKED UP BUT THE ENGINE ALMOST STALLED. WHEN TRAFFIC CLEARED MY WIFE ATTEMPTED THE APPLY PRESSURE TO THE THROTTLE PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE ONLY MOVED FORWARD AT ABOUT 2MPH. WITH MORE TRAFFIC HEADED TOWARD US (35MPH ZONE) ABOUT 50YARDS AWAY. MY WIFE LIFTED TO HER FOOT OFF THE THROTTLE TO APPLY AGAIN, THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD WITH MY WIFE'S FOOT OFF THE PEDAL. THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON WINDY MOUNTAIN ROADS. THE VEHICLE WILL BECOME HESITANT THE LURCH OR BOG DOWN.WE HAD THIS VEHICLE IN FOR THE SAME FIX ON 09/09/2013. THE DEALERSHIP TOOK THE VEHICLE ON A ROAD TEST AND DIAGNOSED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPGRADE. THE CARS TRANSMISSION STILL HAD MINOR PROBLEMS THAT THE DEALERSHIP STATED AS "NORMAL". THE DIAGNOSIS OF MY VEHICLE NOW IS THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT A ROAD TEST WASN'T EVEN DONE TO THE VEHICLE. A FORD "SPECIALIST" DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM WITH A COMPUTER STATING HE COULD ONLY GET THE ENGINE TO SHUTTER. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A PROPER DIAGNOSTIC CAN BE DONE IF THE CAR IS NOT DRIVEN ON THE ROAD. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT CANNOT TELL ME WHEN THE VEHICLE WILL BE FIXED AND TOLD I CAN PICK THE CAR UP AND DRIVE IT UNTIL THE CLUTCH COMES IN. OBVIOUSLY NOT CARING ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS SAFETY AND THE FACT WE TOLD THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ABOUT THE POTENTIALLY DEADLY SITUATION THAT OCCURRED A RENTAL VEHICLE WAS NOT OFFERED CAUSE THEY FEEL THE CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE. *TR

THE PARTS THAT WERE REPLACED CONSISTED OF BOTH SNAP RINGS, REAR SPLENDOR PLATE AND NUTS. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
MY CAR HAS BEEN JERKING WHEN ACCELERATING AND COMING TO A STOP. THERE IS ALSO A SCRATCHING NOISE WHEN YOU TURN. I TOOK MY CAR IN AND THE FOLLOWING WAS FOUND: SERVICE APPT. 1: COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED SERVICE APPT 2: A PART OF THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED SERVICE APPT 3: THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING ELSE WRONG. AND THE CAR IS EVEN WORSE. NOW IT IS ABOUT READY TO STALL ON ME. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THERE IS SIX RECALLS ON THE CAR. 50 PERCENT OF MY WORK WEEK IS SPENT DRIVING IN THE CAR. IN THE PAST FOUR WEEKS THIS HAS BEEN AN EXTREME INCONVENIENCE. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AND THE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED. THIS NOT SAFE FOR THE OWNER OF THE CAR OR OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. MY CAR IS GOING STRAIGHT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW AND I AM DEMANDING A REFUND. THIS CAR IS ONLY 6 MONTHS OLD. MY FORD FIESTA 2013 HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH SHUDDERING, LUNGING, JERKING, AND FAILING TO ENGAGE GEAR SHIFTS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY SEVERAL FORD DEALERS AND SERVICEMEN THAT I NEED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS IF IT WERE A STICKSHIFT AND HESITATION BETWEEN GEAR SHIFTS IS NORMAL FOR THIS CAR. A FORD DEALER HOOKED UP A LAPTOP AND RESET THE VEHICLE TO TSB 13-4-5 "INTERMITTENT TRANSMISSION CLUTCH SHUDDER DPS6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION". THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED, SO I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY; COMPLAINT #2989023. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO BRING THE CAR TO A DEALER AND THEY NEED PROOF THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE SERVICE PERSON SAID I NEED TO BE DRIVING THE CAR WHILE FAULTS ARE DOCUMENTED BECAUSE THE CAR HAS AN ADAPTIVE LEARNING PROGRAM THAT RESPONDS TO THE DRIVER'S ACTIONS. I BROUGH THE CAR TO SCHAUMBURGH FORD IN ILLINOIS. THE SERVICE DIRECTOR TEST DROVE THE CAR WHILE I WAS IN THE PASSENGER'S SEAT. HE SAID HE DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY FAULTS WITH THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THERE WAS ONE INSTANCE AS WE WERE RETURNING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THAT THE CAR SHUDDERED. THE DEALER TOOK THE CAR FOR THE AFTERNOON 8/29/2013 AND SAID HE RESET THE CAR AGAIN FOR TSB 13-4-5 UPDATE ALTHOUGH THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH A RECEIPT OF WORK THAT WAS DONE. ON THE MORNING OF 8/30/2013 THE CAR EXPERIENCED OVERHEATING AND BURNING UNDER THE HOOD. A SERVICE PERSON FROM THE SCHAUMBER FORD DEALERSHIP IN ILLINOIS MET TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE PERSON TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR DUE TO THE WEEKEND SCHEDULE. THE ISSUE IS STILL BEING ADDRESSED BY THE DEALER AT THIS TIME.
TWO PROBLEMS: 1) WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE GENTLY FROM A STOP (AS IN A 4-WAY STOP SITUATION) THE VEHICLE ENGAGES VIOLENTLY AND SURGES FORWARD. I HAVE TO REACT QUICKLY IN THIS SITUATION AND SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. 2) WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC, THE CAR REVS (TRANSMISSION MAKES A LOT OF NOISE) BUT DOES NOT ACCELERATE. I HAVE HAD DANGEROUS SITUATIONS WHEN I COULD NOT ACCELERATE AND CARS WERE COMING UP ON ME QUICKLY. *TR

THE 2013 FORD FIESTA DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY AND UNSAFE. IT SHIFTS HARD, STALLS, SLIPS, SKIPS, JUMPS AND SHAKES. I HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR 14 MONTHS AND FORD HAS REPLACED THE CLUTCH 3 TIMES AND TRANSMISSION SEALS ONCE AND IT STILL HAS ALL THESE PROBLEMS. *TR
NEW TRANSMISSION CLUTCH PROBLEM. FORD SENT RECALL. CAR NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BUT I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE AUGUST OF 2015 FOR RECALL PARTS AS HAVE MANY OTHERS CAR JUMPS SHIMMIES AND RATTLES LIKE A BUCKET OF BOLTS. DANGEROUS MAKING LEFT HAND TURNS AND GETTING UP INCLINES ESPECIALLY COMING FROM A STOP. GETTING NOWHERE WITH FORD CORP OR DEALERSHIP.
WE WERE AT A LIGHT AND WHEN IT TURNED GREEN WE ACCELERATED TO APPROX. 15 MPH AND SUDDENLY WE LOST MOMENTUM. A SEMI TRUCK BEHIND US LOCKED UP ITS WHEEL AND LUCKILY WE STARTED MOVING AGAIN OR HE WOULD HAVE DRILLED US. *TR
