TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FIVE HUNDRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS WOULD SPORADICALLY ILLUMINATE AND OTHER TIMES WOULD COMPLETELY FAIL. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUSTER PANEL WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 106,937.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FIVE HUNDRED. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, THE BRAKE PADS RUB THE ROTORS AND HEAT THE PADS AND ROTORS DURING STOPPING. THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ONCE AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE FAILURE AND EXTENDED THE WARRANTY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,800 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1.
ACCELERATOR JUMPED TO FULL THROTTLE AS MY WIFE PULLED INTO PARKING SPOT-CAR JUMPED OVER CONCRETE CURB AND CROSSED A GRASSY STRIP AND STRUCK A PICKUP TRUCK. SHE WAS MOVING SLOWLY INTO THE SPOT WHEN CAR JUMPED ONTO FULL THROTTLE. *NM
2006 FORD FIVE HUNDRED, INTERNAL FAILURE OF CVT TRANSMISSION(TORQUE CONVERTER AND SHAFT), SLOW PROGRESSIVE FAILURE, FORD WOULD NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY DESPITE NUMEROUS OTHER NATIONWIDE COMPLAINTS. PLEASE NOTE FORD NO LONGER USES THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION IN THEIR VEHICLES. OVER 5,000 DOLLARS TO REPLACE. HAD CAR FOR 1.5 YEARS. *TR

AUTO HEADLIGHTS FAIL DURING OPERATION, DRIVING IN RURAL NON LIGHT SENSITIVE AREAS. *NM
THE REVERSE SENSING SYSTEM WORKED FLAWLESSLY FOR THE FIRST 5000 MILES. NOW IT GOES OFF EVERYTIME I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE WHEN THERE IS NOTHING NEAR THE REAR OF THE CAR. NOW I DISREGARD THE WARNING BEEPS WHICH IS DANGEROUS. *JB
ADDENDUM TO ODI ID NUMBER : 10386714 THE FUEL PUMP, FUEL FILTER HAD TO BE REPLACED, AND THE INJECTORS FLUSHED - COST $800 ++. DEALER NOW STATES CODES SHOW PCM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. REPAIR COVERED UNDER FEDERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY (8 YEARS OR 80,000 MILES) DUE TO MY CURRENT MILEAGE BEING 79,008 MILES. DEALER COVERED CAR RENTAL UNTIL PART ARRIVES AND IS INSTALLED. I HAVE A "BUCKING" BEHAVIOR, AFTER TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 2 HRS AT SPEEDS OVER 60MPH (INTERSTATE TRAVEL). THE CAR WOULD LURCH SEVERELY AND HESITATE, THE ENGINE REVVED VERY LOUDLY, AND THE SPEED REDUCED TO 40 MPH, EVEN THOUGH I HAD MY FOOT TO THE FLOOR ON THE GAS PEDAL. AFTER DRIVING OFF THE HIGHWAY, IT WOULD DO THE SAME THING AT CITY SPEEDS AND HAD LITTLE TO NO ACCELERATION. DEALER SAID THE CODES SHOWED IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND IT WOULD DO THE BUCKING AND LACK OF ACCELERATION AFTER THE PUMP HEATED UP. DEALER SAID THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FUEL PUMP, FUEL FILTER HAD TO BE REPLACED, AND THE INJECTORS FLUSHED. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65MPH AND A SEMI TRUCK DRIVES PAST, THE HOOD WILL RAISE A FOURTH OF AN INCH. WIND COMES THROUGH THE RADIATOR AND RAISES THE HOOD. UPON INSPECTION THE DEALER AGREED THE PROBLEM OCCURS, BUT WAS UNABLE TO CREATE A REMEDY.
FAILURE TO PROTECT OUTER EDGES OF FUEL TANK SHARP OBJECT KICKED UP FRONT TIRE PERFORATED TANK ON FORD 500. 2006 HAVE TO REPLACE TANK. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE DISINTEGRATING; THIS WAS NOTICED WHILE WASHING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP AND MANUFACTURER DETERMINED IT WAS A COSMETIC PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SUGGESTED THE CONTACT PURCHASE A PLASTIC SHIELD TO KEEP THE DUST OFF OF THE BRAKE PADS. THE CONTACT CLEANED THE DUST OFF OF THE BRAKE PADS AND STATED IT TAKES 20 MINUTES ON EACH SIDE. UPDATED 3/3/2006 - THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THAT THE BRAKES MAY NOT BE RELEASING ALL THE WAY. *NM
MY 2006 FORD 500 ELECTRIC WINDOW REGULATOR GOES DOWN WHEN PULLING UP ON THE WINDOW CONTROL UNLESS YOU WAIT 5 SECONDS AFTER LOWERING THE WINDOW. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE SINCE THE WINDOW UP OR DOWN BUTTON CONTROLS SHOULD DO WHAT ARE MEANT TO DO - NOT THE OPPOSITE. *JB
WE HAVE A 2006 FORD 500 WHICH HAD THE CVT TRANSMISSION REPLACED AFTER 4 WEEKS. THE TRANSMISSION CONTINUES TO HAVE A SIGNIFICANT DELAY IN ENGAGING IN REVERSE. MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER DID NOT WAIT UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGED AND HAVE ON OCCASION LURCHED BACKWARDS ALMOST RUNNING OVER HER LITTLE BROTHER. WITH THE FRONT OF THE CAR ON A DECLINE THE CAR WILL ROLL FORWARD WHEN IN REVERSE UNTIL IT ENGAGES AND THE USER DEPRESSES THE THROTTLE. OLATHE FORD AND A FACTORY REP. INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND SUPPOSEDLY THE VEHICLE IS WITHIN SPECS. I DON'T THINK SO, THE CAR ALSO WHINES WHEN TURNING CORNERS. I THINK THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS OUT OF SPECS. FORD DOESN'T USE IT ANYMORE, NOR DO I WANT TO. I HAVE HAD MANY FORDS, THIS WILL BE MY LAST IF THIS ISN'T RESOLVED TO MY SATISFACTION. THE CAR ALSO HAS THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WHICH INTERMITTENTLY GOES OUT, WINDSHIELD LEAKS WATER AND AIR. ANSWER SOON, I AM GOING TO BBB, NHTSA AND KANSAS CONSUMER PROTECTION.
