DOOR LATCH SENSORS ARE VERY PROBLEMATIC. HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE IN 4 TIMES IN 2014 FOR SAME ISSUE. COMPUTER CLAIMS DOORS ARE AJAR WHEN THEY'RE CLOSED. HAVE HEARD THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE EDGE AND OTHER MAKES AS WELL. WARRANTY EXPIRES AT ~36,000 MILES. I JUST HIT 40,000 MILES AND AM NOW HAVING TO PAY FOR PRE-EXISTING CONDITION. *TR
I LEASED A 2013 FORD FLEX, LIMITED, AWD, WITH THE ECO-BOOST ENGINE UPGRADE. MY WIFE SLID INTO THE LAWN MAKING A TURN ON OUR DRIVEWAY INTO THE GARAGE DUE TO THE LACK OF GRIP IN SNOW AND ICE OF THE HANKOOK OPTIOMO H426 TIRES. I PAID EXTRA FOR THE 2)' WHEEL AND TIRE UPGRADE. THE TIRES ARE LISTED ON THE WINDOW STICKER AS ALL SEASON TIRES. IN CHECKING SEVERAL OF THE RATING SERVICES, INCLUDING TIRE RACK, THESE TIRES ARE CONSIDERED UNSATISFACTORY IN WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS AND MARGINAL FOR HYDROPLANING. IN ESSENCE, HANKOOK HAS PRODUCED A TIRE THAT CANNOT DO WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO. ONE PURCHASES A LARGE AWD SUV, WITH ALL-SEASON TIRES, TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE IN ALL TYPES OF WEATHER. I BELIEVE THAT HANKOOK HAS PRODUCED A PRODUCT THAT WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THESE TIRES ARE SO BAD, THAT THEY SHOULD BE RECALLED. I PURCHASED A $50,000 VEHICLE THAT WAS SOLD TO ME AS A YEAR ROUND CAR, WITHOUT THE NEED TO CHANGE TIRES FOR SNOW. THE RATING ON THE HANKOOKS IN THE SNOW IS ABOUT THE SAME AS TIRES SOLD AS SUMMER TIRES, NOT ALL-SEASONS. NEITHER FORD OR HANKOOK WILL DO ANYTHING, AS THEY DO NOT SEE A DEFECT. THE DEFECT IS THE PRODUCTION BY HANKOOK AND THE SELECTION BY FORD. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THESE TIRES OFF MY VEHICLE ASAP BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX EQUIPPED WITH HANKOOK OPTIMO TIRES, SIZE: 255/45/R20. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SHE TOOK HER VEHICLE IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TREAD DEPTH FOR ALL FOUR TIRES WAS IN THE RED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,629.
-PASSENGER DOOR, REAR PASSENGER DOOR, AND HATCH DOOR AJAR SIGNAL STAYS ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. -INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON -ALARMS GOES OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT -FAULTY LATCH -IGNITION KEY SWITCH DINGS UNTIL I PUT KEY IN AND TURN KEY BACK AND FORTH AND THEN TAKE OUT AGAIN. *THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND CREATES A NIGHT DRIVING HAZARD. *IT CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN THE DOME LIGHTS STAYS ON AND I AM SITTING IN A PUBLIC AREA AT NIGHT. *THE FALSE DOOR AJAR SIGNAL PREVENTS ME FROM RECOGNIZING A REAL DOOR AJAR SITUATION, WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. *THE DOORS SOMETIMES MAY OR MAY NOT NOT LOCK, NOR WILL THE TRUNK OPEN SOMETIMES- CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD/POSSIBLE DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN I AM TRYING TO GET MY GROCERIES OUT OF THE TRUNK AT NIGHT. THESE SAME ISSUES HAPPENED TO OUR VEHICLE IN 2013, 2014, 2015, AND NOW AGAIN IN 2016.
I WAS TURNING A CORNER AND SOMETHING POPPED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STEER. THE ONLY THING THAT STOPPED THE CAR WAS THE CURVE, AS I WAS MAKING THE TURN, AND THAT CAUSED A LOT OF DAMAGE. SUTTON FORD LINCOLN IN MATTESON, IL SAID THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE DAMAGES CAUSED BY THE LEMON-FORD-FLEX THAT WAS SOLD TO ME BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS 300 MILES OUT OF THE WARRANTY. SUTTON FORD LINCOLN IN MATTESON, IL THAN SAID IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPORTED TO INSURANCE. SO I REPORTED IT TO INSURANCE AND THE REPAIR SHOP, THAT WAS REPAIRING THE DAMAGES, SAID THEY FOUND DAMAGE TO THE RADIATOR (1,500 DOLLARS WORTH OF DAMAGES) WHICH COULD NOT HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE CAR HITTING THE CURVE. AND THAT IT LOOKED LIKE SUTTON FORD LINCOLN IN MATTESON, IL RAISED THE CAR INAPPROPRIATELY AND CAUSED THE RADIATOR DAMAGE. THE REPAIR COMPANY SAID, SINCE THE ORIGINAL PLACE WHERE THE FLEX WAS TOWED TO (SUTTON FORD LINCOLN IN MATTESON, IL) WAS LOCATED RIGHT BEHIND THEM (ACROSS THE ALLEY), SUTTON FORD LINCOLN IN MATTESON, IL CAUSED THE DAMAGE. AND OF COURSE, SUTTON FORD LINCOLN IN MATTESON, IL DENIED IT AND WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE DAMAGES. BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SUTTON FORD LINCOLN IN MATTESON, IL. THE CAR REPORTS THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AS BEING OPEN/AJAR. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO UNLOCK ALL DOORS EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE CAR ALARM ACTIVATES RANDOMLY AS WELL. THE FORD DEALER'S CERTIFIED REPAIR TECHNICIANS CHARGE TO REPLACE THE SENSOR, BUT I HAVE HAD THIS PART REPLACED 3 TIMES AND THE DEFECT CONTINUES TO OCCUR.
MY VEHICLE MOTOR QUIT ABOUT A MILE FROM MY HOME AND I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TRIED TO RESTART THE MOTOR. THE SMELL OF GAS BECAME VERY STRONG AND I GOT OUT AND COULD SEE WHERE A STREAM OF GAS HAD STARTED 50 YARDS BACK ON THE STREET AND A PUDDLE WAS UNDER THE GAS TANK. I GOT THE HECK OUT OF THERE AND CALLED FORD ROAD ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE FORD DEALER.THE SAFETY RECALL 13S04 FOR REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP HAD BEEN PERFORMED ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND 1000 MILES AGO. THE DEALER HAD NOT INSTALL THE O RING SEAL PROPERLY. THEY DID IT AGAIN AND SAY IT IS GOOD TO DRIVE. I AM NOT SO SURE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON I-5 A HEAVY HEAVY RAIN WAS COMING DOWN AND I HAD MY WIPERS ON THE HIGH SETTING AND THEY WORKED FOR A LITTLE BIT AND THEN STOPPED MOVING AT A HIGH SPEED. WHILE ON THE HIGH SETTING THEY WERE GOING SLOWER ACROSS THE WINDOW THEN THE CONTINUOUS SLOW SETTING. I WAS UNABLE TO SEE AND HAD TO SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER UNTIL MY WIPERS COULD ALLOW ME TO SEE PROPERLY. THEY CONTINUED THIS FOR THE REST OF MY 150 MILE DRIVE MOVING SLOWER ON THE HIGH SETTING THROUGH THE RAIN.
WHILE TRAVELING AT 55 MPH, ON CRUISE CONTROL, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO KNOCK AND THEN THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD TWICE AND BEGAN TO SHAKE PRETTY BAD. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER HOLDING UP THE CELL PHONE TO THE ENGINE, I WAS TOLD TO "TURN THAT ENGINE OFF NOW!". THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS LATER TOLD THERE WAS A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO AN CYLINDER WITHIN THE INTERNAL PISTON THAT BROKE FREE AND PUT A WHOLE IN THE ENGINE BLOCK, REQUIRING THE ENGINE TO BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE MANAGER GAVE ME THE MANGLED CYLINDER AND STATED HE THOUGHT THE BALL BEARINGS HAD FAILED AND CAUSED THE CYLINDER TO WREAK HAVOC WITH THE ENGINE. AFTER SEEING THE PIECE THAT BROKE OFF. I FEEL THAT WE WERE VERY LUCKY IT DID NOT COME THROUGH INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT; IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS INJURY, IF IT HAD. FORD HAS AGREED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, SAYING THIS TYPE OF FAILURE ONLY HAPPENS "1 IN A MILLION". I DO NOT HAVE ANY CONFIDENCE THAT THE SAME TYPE OF ENGINE FAILURE WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN IF THE BALL BEARINGS AND OR CYLINDER ARE INFERIOR. I HAVE PICTURES AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. *LN

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 20 MPH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN THE CONTACT, WHO WAS DRIVING AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE CONTACT WAS THROWN UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL AND SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIBS AS A RESULT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
ON APPROXIMATELY AUGUST 15, 2013 WE WERE DRIVING OUR SON TO SCHOOL WHEN CHIMES CAME ON STATING THAT OUR DOORS WERE OPEN. WE STOPPED, CHECKED ALL DOORS. NONE WERE AJAR. WE CONTINUED ON DRIVING AT WHICH TIME OUR SON OPENED THE DOOR. HAD HE NOT BEEN IN A CAR SEAT HE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE FALLEN OUT. WE WERE IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD AND WERE ONLY GOING ABOUT 15- 20 MPH. OUR CHIMES CONTINUED TO GO OFF AND STILL TO THIS DAY WE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. WE HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP DID TELL US THAT THEY ARE AWARE THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE SENSORS BUT THAT THERE HAVEN'T BEEN ANY RECALLS. THEY DID CHANGE ONE OF THE SENSORS FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AT OUR OWN EXPENSE, HOWEVER IT HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS GOING OFF STILL AND NOW THE DRIVER FRONT ONE IS STARTING AS WELL AS A "SHIFT TO PARK" SENSOR. THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AND THE LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF INSIDE THE CAR. AS FAR AS THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM GOES. IT WILL SLIP INTO NEUTRAL AS YOU ARE DRIVING. IT HAS HAPPENED MAY TIMES AND IT IS GOING TO CAUSE A SERIOUS CAR ACCIDENT. YOU HAVE TO STOP THE CAR, TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTART IT IN ORDER FOR IT TO GO BACK INTO DRIVE. WE HAVE BROUGHT THIS TO THE DEALERSHIPS ATTENTION HOWEVER EVERY TIME WE TAKE IT INTO THERE THEY SAY THEY CANT SEE OR FIND A PROBLEM WITH IT. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING BECAUSE WE MAKE A CAR PAYMENT EVERY MONTH ON A VEHICLE WE DON'T DRIVE. WE HAVE A 2009 FLEX THAT WE HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH WHICH IS WHY WE PURCHASED A NEWER ONE WITH A LOT LESS MILES! UNFORTUNATELY WE OWE MORE THAN THE CAR IS WORTH ON OUR 2013 FLEX OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN RID OF IT BY NOW. WE HOPE YOU WILL REALLY LOOK INTO THESE PROBLEMS BEFORE SOMEONE ENDS UP REALLY HURT! WE NOTICE THERE WAS A RECALL WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS BUT OURS WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT SUPPOSEDLY.
I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE ON SATURDAY, 7/27. I AM LEAVING FOR VACATION ON AUGUST, 3, WILL BE GONE FOR 3+ WEEKS AND WILL DRIVE APPROX. 4000 MILES. I CALLED SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS ON MONDAY, 7/29, BUT AM UNABLE TO FIND ANYONE WILLING TO SCHEDULE SERVICE FOR BEFORE 8/9 -- THEY HAVE TO ORDER THE PART AND THEN WILL SCHEDULE ME ONCE IT HAS COME IN. I CALLED FORD'S CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER TWICE AND GOT NO ASSISTANCE. FORD TELLS ME THAT IF I DON'T CURRENTLY SMELL GAS, THE CAR IS CURRENTLY SAFE TO DRIVE. HOWEVER, I AM CONCERNED THAT I WILL BE ON VACATION THOUSANDS OF MILES FROM HOME AND DEVELOP A PROBLEM BUT HAVE NO WAY TO ADDRESS IT. IF THERE IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AND A RECALL NOTICE IS ISSUED, THE DEALERSHIPS SHOULD HAVE PARTS ON HAND AND BE PREPARED TO REPAIR CARS QUICKLY FOR PEOPLE IN MY SITUATION. A RECALL NOTICE ON A POTENTIAL FUEL LINE PROBLEM IS OF NO USE IF DEALERS ARE PREPARED TO DEAL WITH THE SAFETY ISSUE PROMPTLY. *TR
ON 7/20/13 I DROPPED OFF THE FLEX AT THE DEALER FOR THE TIMELY SERVICE AND ALSO TO HAVE THE A/C CHECKED. FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS A TERRIBLE ODOR HAS BEEN COMING FROM THE A/C AND AFTER THE CAR WAS UNUSED FOR A DAY, THE ODOR WAS UNBEARABLE WHEN WE TURNED ON THE CAR A/C. ON 7/22/13 AT THE END OF THE WORK DAY, THE SERVICE DEPT CALLED STATING ALL WORK WAS COMPLETED, THAT THE A/C WAS WORKING PROPERLY AND THAT THERE WAS NO A/C PROBLEMS TO REPAIR. WHEN I AGAIN INFORMED THEM ABOUT THE TERRIBLE ODOR, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE FLEX HAS A PROBLEM WITH MILDEW IN THE A/C BUT THAT THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I DID NOT PICK UP MY CAR FROM SERVICE AND CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER TO INFORM HIM/HER OF WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR.THE SERVICE MANAGER AGREED THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FORD FLEX A/C, THAT FORD WAS AWARE OF THIS A/C ISSUE AS OF A YEAR AGO, BUT THAT THERE WAS NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WAS INFORMED THAT A REGIONAL REP WOULD CALL ME IN TWO DAYS. I SAID THAT I COULD NOT PICK UP THE CAR AS MY DAUGHTER SUFFERS FROM UPPER RESPIRATORY AILMENTS AND THAT I WOULD NOT PICK UP THE CAR UNTIL THE MOLD AND MILDEW WAS REMOVED AND THE PROBLEM FIXED. I INFORMED THEM THAT I NEEDED A CAR IN THE MEANTIME TO GHETTO WORK, ETC. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT GIVE ME A LOANER AND THAT I SHOULD GET A RENTAL CAR AT MY OWN EXPENSE AND THAT THERE MAY, OR MAY NOT, BE A POSSIBILITY OF A REFUND FOR THE RENTAL EXPENSE. I AM CURIOUS IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS A/C PROBLEM WITH FORD AND IT WAS CORRECTED? *TR
THE DOOR ACTUATORS IN THESE CARS ARE DEFECTIVE AND NEED TO BE ON THE RECALL LIST!! MANY FORD FLEX DOOR ACTUATORS ARE DEFECTIVE , THE CAR THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS CLOSED . CAUSES YOUR DOORS NOT TO LOCK, MAKES YOUR BATTERY OVERHEAT, DRAINS YOUR BATTERY AND MAKES THE ALARM GO OFF RANDOMLY . I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW AND IT HAD HAPPENED SINCE DAY 1!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THREE DIFFERENT AUTHORIZED DEALERS, BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY. A 2013 FORD FLEX RENTAL VEHICLE USED FOR A 4-HOUR DRIVE FROM THE SAN DIEGO AREA TO SOUTHERN ARIZONA WAS LEAKING GASOLINE FUMES, WHICH KEPT ENTERING THE CABIN AND MADE ALL PASSENGERS NAUSEOUS, INCLUDING AN ELDERLY FEMALE WITH ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED INSIDE A GARAGE OVERNIGHT AND THE FOLLOWING MORNING ALL THE INTERIOR AREAS OF THE HOUSE, INCLUDING ALL BEDROOMS, WERE SATURATED WITH A VERY POTENT SMELL OF GASOLINE. AFTER INSPECTING THE HOUSE, IT BECAME OBVIOUS THAT THE FUMES WERE COMING FROM THE RENTAL 2013 FORD FLEX VEHICLE, AND THE GARAGE HAD AN EXTREMELY POTENT CONCENTRATION OF GASOLINE FUMES. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS NO EXPLOSION, WE ALL FELT ILL AND TOOK US ABOUT A WEEK TO FULLY RECOVER. WHEN THIS HAPPENED WE WERE IN AN AREA WITHOUT PHONE OR INTERNET ACCESS, BUT I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE RENTAL COMPANY WHEN I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE RENTAL COMPANY, BUT THEY DID NOT APPEAR TO BE TOO CONCERNED. *TR
MY 2013 FORD FLEX HAS HAD THE SAME ISSUE AS THE FORD EXPLORER. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW FROM SANDERSON FORD IN GLENDALE AZ AND NOTICED AFTER A HARD ACCELERATION WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING SET TO RECIRCULATE. THE DEALER STATED THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE AND I TOOK IT BACK HOME. YEARS PAST AND IT WAS TAKEN BACK AGAIN AND SAME THING THEY COULD NOT RE-CREATE DUE TO THERE WAS NO MECHANIC THAT COULD DRIVE IT AT HIGHER SPEEDS. I INCLUDED A FORD FLEX FORUM THAT EXPLAINS THE ISSUE AND SHOWS THAT IT DOES EXIST OUT THERE. PLEASE ADD THE FORD FLEX TO THE "RECALL" FIX OF THESE ISSUES. IN THE FEDERAL REGULATIONS UNDER 49 CFR 393.83 THE EXHAUST SHALL NOT LEAK / DISCHARGE SO THAT IT ENTERS A SLEEPER COMPARTMENT OF A TRUCK TRACTOR. I HAVE OWNED MY VEHICLE SINCE MARCH 2013 AND HAVE HAD IT IN THE PROCESS MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE - SYNC ISSUES, DEAD BATTERY AND THREE SEATBELT REPLACEMENTS. MY VEHICLE HAS REAR AIRBAG SEATBELTS SUPPOSEDLY FOR SAFETY. INSTEAD, MY KIDS HAVE BEEN FORCED INTO UNSAFE SITUATIONS BECAUSE THE BELTS ARE SO POORLY DESIGNED AS SOON AS THE BLACK PLASTIC COVERING THE BELT BREAKS, THE ENTIRE SEATBELT NO LONGER FUNCTIONS. THIS IS WHOLLY UNACCEPTABLE. I'VE APPROACHED FORD AND SPRINGHILL FORD IN DUNDEE WITHOUT ANY SATISFACTION. MOST RECENTLY I TOOK MY CAR INTO SPRINGHILL FORD FOR AN INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD THE ISSUE IS DEBRIS WAS IN THE BUCKLES. THE SEATBELTS ARE IN THE BACK SEAT WHERE KIDS SIT, THERE WILL BE DEBRIS. WHY IS IT ACCEPTABLE THAT DEBRIS BREAKS THE BELTS? I'VE PAID FAR TOO MUCH MONEY (ADDITIONAL FOR THIS "SAFETY" FEATURE) TO HAVE A VEHICLE I CAN'T TRUST. *TR
WE SMELLED EXHAUST FUMES WHEN WE FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR...2013. THE DEALER FIXED IT BUT WE ARE SMELLING THEM AGAIN, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE STEP ON IT OR ARE CLIMBING A STEEP GRADE. CONSIDERING THE FORD EXPLORER PROBLEMS, WE THINK THIS MAY ALSO BE SOMETHING HAPPENING WITH THE FLEX.
THE 2ND ROW SEAT THAT COLLAPSES AT THE PUSH OF A BUTTON IS A DEATH SEAT. IF THIS SEAT IS OCCUPIED WHEN THE BUTTON IS ACCIDENTALLY PUSHED EG WHEN GRABBING FOR THE SEAT BELT THE FORCE OF THE SEAT COLLAPSING COULD CRUSH THE OCCUPANT. I DON'T KNOW YOU ARE AWARE OF THIS.
ABOUT A MONTH AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE, ONE OF THE INFLATABLE SEATBELT BUCKLES CRACKED AT THE BUCKLE CASING. A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE SECOND SEAT BELT BUCKLE CRACKED. I HAD BOTH BUCKLES REPLACED AND NOW I HAVE A 3RD BUCKLE CRACK. THIS MAKES THE SEATBELTS UNSAFE AND DIFFICULT TO OPERATE. ADDITIONALLY, THE TOP PART OF THE SEAT BELT (WHERE THE INFLATABLE PORTION ORIGINATES) BECOMES TWISTED AND STUCK AT THE TOP, AND MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO PULL OUT THE SEAT BELT AND USE IT. THIS INFLATABLE SEATBELT FEATURE IS IN THE SECOND ROW WHERE MY CHILDREN SIT. THEY ARE UNABLE TO USE THE SEATBELTS UNASSISTED AS THEY ARE HEAVY AND DIFFICULT TO MANIPULATE EVEN WHEN THEY ARE WORKING PROPERLY. THIS NEW FEATURE IS UNSAFE AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO BUCKLE EACH AND EVERY TIME THEY ARE USED. I PAID TO HAVE THESE SPECIAL SEATBELTS INCLUDED WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, AND EVEN CHOSE THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS NEW SPECIAL FEATURE. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEM REMOVED AND TO HAVE REGULAR STANDARD SEATBELTS INSTALLED. THANK YOU. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 10 MPH, SHE BECAME INVOLVED IN A CRASH WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING 50 MPH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 2,400. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
