VEHICLE HAS FAULTY DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION WITH A CLUTCH THAT NEEDS REPAIRED. DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX IT EVEN THOUGH IT'S UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE CAR IS PART OF THE FORD CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE IS A SAFETY RISK TO DRIVE BECAUSE THEY WON'T FIX IT AND THE CLUTCH COULD STOP WORKING WHILE DRIVING CAUSING A CRASH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60-65 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF FUEL EVEN THOUGH THE FUEL GAUGE READ 1/4 TANK OF FUEL. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS DEFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. LIBERTY FORD PARMA HEIGHTS (6600 PEARL RD, PARMA HEIGHTS, OH 44130, (440) 888-2600) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE VIA PHONE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS-24594302. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I OWN A 2012 FORD FOCUS THAT HAS EXPERIENCES A MULTITUDE OF ISSUES. HOWEVER, I AM SPECIFICALLY WRITING TODAY ABOUT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKING UP. IT HAPPENS WHEN I FIRST START THE CAR UP, OFTEN TIMES REQUIRING ME TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING. THE CAR WILL ALSO NOTE A 'STEERING WHEEL MALFUNCTION' ERROR MESSAGE. I'VE REACHED OUT TO FORD WHO WILL NOT REPAIR.
THE POWER STEERING RECENTLY STARTED FAILING ON OUR 2012 FORD FOCUS INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE CAR IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. ONLINE OTHER OWNERS REPORT FAILURES OCCURRING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITHOUT ADVANCE NOTICE. THIS ISSUE WAS ALSO REPORTED IN THE NEW YORK TIMES IN 2015 (HTTPS://WWW.NYTIMES.COM/2015/12/25/AUTOMOBILES/FORD-FOCUS-STEERING-PROBLEM-PROMPTS-MANY-COMPLAINTS-BUT-NO-INQUIRY.HTML) OUR ISSUE HAS ONLY PRESENTED ITSELF TO DATE WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE, WITH THE ABILITY TO RESET AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR AND THEN BACK ON A FEW MOMENTS LATER. THE REPAIRS INCLUDE REMOVING THE STEERING MODULE ELEMENT AT A COST OF ROUGHLY $3,000, MORE THAN HALF OF THE RESALE VALUE OF THE CAR. FORD DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL ON THIS DEVICE AS OF MY INTERACTIONS THIS WEEK.
MASSIVE STUTTERING ISSUE. WHEN PRESSING GAS, SEEMS TO STUTTER AND FAIL TO GET UP TO SPEED. HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES AND DOESN'T SEEM TO CHANGE IF ENGINE IS COLD OR WARM.
POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. DASH HAS A WARNING THAT SAYS POWER ASSIST FAULT CONTACT SERVICE CENTER. CAR IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. I WAS PULLING THE VEHICLE INTO A PARKING SPOT AND HAND TO SLAM THE BRAKES TO STOP FROM HITTING ANOTHER CAR.
JUST LIKE THE OTHER HUNDREDS OF FORD OWNERS THAT ARE NOT ON THE RECALL LIST MY FOCUS STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT FORD DOESN'T WANT TO FIX. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FORD I ALMOST DIED! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD VEHICLE AGAIN.
VEHICLE MAKES EXTREMELY LOUD STATIC SOUNDS, CRACKING, POPPING. RADIO CANNOT BE CONTROLLED. FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, I ALMOST CRASHED FROM THE ERRATIC AND SUDDEN NOISE. RADIO DOES NOT WORK AS OF NOW, MILEAGE IS 80,000 APPROX. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED.

ALSO, "SERVICE STEERING NOW" AND "ADVANCETRAC" WERE DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LARRY H. MILLER FORD DRAPER (11442 LONE PEAK PKWY, DRAPER, UT 84020, (801) 590-0561) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT CORNING FORD (2280 SHORT DR, CORNING, CA 96021, (530) 824-5434). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH A FULL TANK OF FUEL TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM STALLING. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO STEER THE VEHICLE WITH FORCE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT HAD SOMEONE BRING FUEL TO FILL UP THE FUEL TANK. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A COLLAPSED FUEL TANK AND THE CPV NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WAS ALREADY PERFORMED, THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE OF $1,091 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST SINCE THE RECALL REPAIR WAS ALREADY PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 180,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STEER AND SWERVE IN AND OUT OF LANES WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO REMOVE HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JD BYRIDER AUTO SALES (3700 W BROAD ST, COLUMBUS, OH 43228, (614) 456-1717) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. OUT OF CONSIDERATION, THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT WHEEL BEARING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 92,000.
AS MANY OTHERS, NO, RATHER THOUSANDS OF OTHERS HAVE REPORTED THAT THE FAULTY DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION OFFERED BY FORD FAILED AND ALMOST CAUSE AN ACCIDENT THAT COULD OF SERIOUSLY INJURED ME AND MY 2YR OLD DAUGHTER. WILL IT TAKE A DEATH FOR THE RECALL OF THIS FAULTY TRANSMISSION THAT FORD KNEW ABOUT, BEFORE ANYTHING IS ACTUALLY DONE? HOW PADDED ARE THEY MAKING YOUR POCKETS? DO YOUR JOB AND SAVE LIVES.
POWER STEERING DOES NOT ENGAGE WHEN STARTING THE CAR. IF IT'S SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED IT USUALLY RESETS. ONLY HAPPENS AT INITIAL STARTUP SO FAR, BUT I'M CONCERNED IT'S GETTING MORE FREQUENT. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY RHYME OR REASON AS TO WHY. OR WHERE IT HAPPENS. THANKFULLY IT'S FIXED WITH RESTARTING SO FAR.
THE 2012 FORD FOCUS HAS 71648 AND THE TRANSMISSION IS NO LONGER WORKING.THAT SEEMS TOO EARLY FOR A CAR'S TRANSMISSION TO NO LONGER BE WORKING. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT ABOUT 55 MPH..AND THEN SHE STOPPED AND THEN IT WOULD NOT START UP CORRECTLY. WE HAD TO GET FAR TOWED.AND WAS TOLD IT IS THE TRANSMISSION.
MY PURGE VALVE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY WHICH HAS THROWN MY ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON AND WHEN I PUT GAS IN IT AND START IT UP IT STALLS OUT ON ME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LEGACY FORD LINCOLN (606-528-1904, LOCATED AT 13305 US-25E SCENIC, CORBIN, KY 40701) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT UNKNOWN WIRES (CODES: P060D AND P02138) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE WIRES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 109,000.
RECALL 18S32. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN TO DEALERSHIP ON 9-8-19 WHEN I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE. I WAS TOLD THAT SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. AT THAT POINT, WE HAD NOT EXPERIENCED ANY OF THE SYMPTOMS OF THE RECALL. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A CHECK TO SEE IF THE SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED AND IT DID NOT. ON 10-9-19 WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE GAS GAUGE WENT UP TO FULL (IT WAS ONLY 1/2 FULL) CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON (IT HAS CONSISTENTLY BEEN ON FOR WEEKS) AND MOST IMPORTANTLY AND MOST FRIGHTENING IS THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING 65 MPH ON A HIGHWAY. ALL OF THESE THINGS THAT OCCURED ARE DIRECTLY WHAT THE RECALL IS FOR. ALTHOUGH MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHTWAY , THANKFULLY SHE WAS NOT HIT OR KILLED BY OTHER DRIVERS AND DID NOT CRASH THE VEHICLE. NOW BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS INITIALLY BROUGHT IN BEFORE ANY SYMPTOMS AND FORD DETERMINED NO SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS NEEDED, THEY ARE DENYING TO REPLACE THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE WHICH IS WHAT WE WERE TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP NEEDED TO BE DONE. THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN NOW BECAUSE OF THE FEAR OF PUTTING WHOMEVER DRIVES IT IN DANGER. NOT ONLY IS THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE BUT I AM VERY FRUSTRATED AND FEEL THAT THIS SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY FORD IMMEDIATELY. THERE IS ALSO A RECALL (RECALL #19S22) STATING DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE CARBON CANISTER, FUEL TANK AND FUEL DELIVERY MODULE AS NECESSARY. I HAVE TRIED TO GET THIS ADDRESSED NOT ONLY THROUGH FORD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE DIRECTLY BUT BY SPEAKING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WAS BOUGHT AND SERVICED. SEEMS LIKE THIS IS NOT AN URGENT MATTER FOR ANYONE BUT US. I DO HAVE A CASE NUMBER THAT WAS ASSIGNED BY FORD WHICH IS: CAS-24503630-J8W6Y7.
VEHICLE IS OPERATING LIKE A DRUNKEN SAILOR. STILL HAS MAJOR SHIFTING ISSUES.
POWER STEERING FAILURE AT STARTUP. INITIALLY, THIS WAS INTERMITTENT AND RESTARTING THE CAR WOULD SOLVE THE ISSUE. EVENTUALLY, THE POWER STEERING FAILED COMPLETELY DESPITE RESTARTING THE CAR. THE POWER STEERING FAILED ONLY ON STARTUP, NOT WHEN DRIVING.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OR CONTROL THE VEHICLE. YOU MUST SAFELY REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE ROADWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND FORD REFUSES TO HELP BECAUSE WE HAVE HAD ALL OF THE RECALLS FIXED. THIS IS PART OF THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE WITH THE COMPUTER. WE ARE ALSO EXPERIENCING THE JERKING OF THE TRANSMISSION AS IT TRIES TO SHIFT INTO THE CORRECT GEARS DUE TO THE CLUTCH. FORD REFUSES TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AS WELL BECAUSE WE HAVE ALREADY HAD IT RECALLED. THESE ISSUES ARE SERIOUS AND COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT OR FATALITY. THESE VEHICLES ARE NOT SAFE AND UNRELIABLE. FORD NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS AND MAKE THINGS RIGHT WITH THE CUSTOMERS WHO OWN THESE VEHICLES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO PERRY FORD OF NATIONAL CITY (2050 NATIONAL CITY BLVD, NATIONAL CITY, CA 91950) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
ON OCT.4, 2019, OUR 2012 FOCUS SUDDENLY HAD A HARD START AND SMELT OF GAS FUMES IN CAR. TOOK CAR IN AND HAD REPAIR DONE WHICH CONSISTED OF SENDER(BV6Z-9H307-AV) AND GASKET(4L3Z-9276-AA) AND PAID OUT OF POCKET. JUST UNDER 2 YEARS AGO, HAD AN ISSUE WHERE FUEL TANK GOT SUCKED UP. TANK(BV6Z-9002-E) WAS REPLACED ALONG WITH SAME SENDER AND GASKET AS LISTED ABOVE PLUS TUBE AS(BV6Z-9D289-B) PAID OUT OF POCKET IN DEC. 2017 BUT WAS JUST RECENTLY REIMBURSED DUE TO A RECALL. I HOPE THIS WILL NOT BE A CONTINUING REPAIR WE NEED TO DO EVERY COUPLE OF YEARS SINCE A RECALL 19S22 WAS ISSUED .
WE HAVE A 2012 FORD FOCUS SFE, THE HIGH ECONOMY MODEL. THIS CAR EXHIBITS THE SAME SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED IN THE 'SOFT BRAKE PEDAL RECALL' ISSUED RECENTLY. THE BRAKE PEDAL CAN BE APPLIED DIRECTLY TO THE FLOOR, NOT RELIABLY STOPPING THE CAR. SOMETIME IT CAN BE PUMPED UP, SOMETIMES NOT. IN OCTOBER THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $445.36 TO NO AVAIL. THEN THE ABS-ANTI SKID CONTROLLER BOX WAS REPLACED, AGAIN TO NO AVAIL. THEN THE REAR CALIPERS WERE REPLACED. ONCE MORE NO CURE. THE DEALER THEN APPLIED THE ENTIRE RECALL FIX. SO FAR IT HAS COST AN ADDITIONAL $1200+. THIS ISSUE HAS DRAGGED ON FOR THREE MONTHS WITH NO END IN SIGHT. MOST OF THE TIME THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER. MY WIFE AND I BOTH AFRAID TO DRIVE OR BE A PASSENGER IN THIS CAR. IT'S FAR TOO DANGEROUS. STEP ON THE BRAKES AND SOMETIMES THEY WORK WELL, SOMETIMES THEY WORK WITH YOUR FOOT PRESSED TO THE FLOOR SLOWING THE CAR BUT NOT RELIABLY STOPPING IT. FRANKLY, THE DEALER HAS TRIED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM WITH CONTINUOUS MESSAGES TO FORD CORPORATE WITH NO SATISFACTORY RESPONSE. AT THE SAME TIME FORD CORPORATE WAS IDENTIFYING THE ISSUE AND PREPARING A RECALL. WHAT WOULD YOU DO? .
WHEN STARTING THE CAR IN THE MORNINGS, A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARS ON THE DASHBOARD: "STEERING ASSIST DISABLED". THE WHEEL BECOMES VERY HARD TO TURN AND IT IS NOT SAFE TO ATTEMPT TO DRIVE. RATHER, I RESTART THE CAR, AND THE MESSAGE GOES AWAY. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN WHILE I AM DRIVING, ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY TO GET TO SCHOOL, IT COULD RESULT IN A POTENTIAL CRASH. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE, AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO.
STEERING ASSIST FAULT. THIS ISSUES IS COVERED UNDER SEVERAL OTHER RECALLS. MY CAR HAS 77KMILES AND SHOULD NOT BE HAVING STEETING ISSUES. MY CAR WAS IN MOTION AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME AND NOW HAVE TO REPLACE A 700$ PART DUE TO FORDS PARTS ISSUES. ALTERING THE MEDIA TO THIS ISSUE. FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ISSUES AND REPAIRS AS THIS IS NO FAULT ON THE DRIVERS PARTS. I WILL BE TAKING THIS UP FURTHER IF THIS I NOT HANDLED AND COVERED UNDER A RECALL.
WHEN DRIVING IN STOP/GO TRAFFIC, TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS CAUSE THE CAR TO LURCH AND JERK. WHEN TRANSITIONING ONTO FREEWAY, AT TIMES THERE WILL BE MINIMAL POWER AS THE TRANSMISSION REFUSES TO SHIFT AND THE ENGINE STAYS BETWEEN 3500 TO 4500 RPMS. THIS RESULTS IN MERGING INTO 70 MPH TRAFFIC AT 30-40 MPH. WHEN TRANSITIONING FROM FREEWAY TO CITY ROAD, CAR WILL HAVE NO POWER FOR 3 TO 5 SECONDS AND THEN MASSIVE POWER LUNGING FORWARD FOR 2 TO 3 SECONDS BEFORE LOSING POWER AND ALLOWING FOR BRAKING.
TRANSMISSION JERKS IN AND OUT OF GEAR AND MOST RECENTLY WILL NOT SHIFT INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE.
CAR SUDDENLY LOSES POWER ON THE HIGHWAY. SOMETIMES THE TRANSMISSION GETS STUCK IN REVERSE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR MANY YEARS. THE FORD SERVICE CENTER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THERE IS A RECALL INVOLVING THIS. THE DEALER HAS RECENTLY PROVIDED A LOANER BECAUSE MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THERE HAS BEEN A RECENT LEGAL SETTLEMENT REGARDING THIS IN LOS ANGELS AND A TRIAL IS SET TO BEGIN IN SAN DIEGO WHERE I RESIDE. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM RESOLVED AND A SAFE CAR TO DRIVE OR BE FAIRLY COMPENSATED SO I CAN PURCHASE A NEW CAR AND MOVE ON.
THE CAR JERKS A LOT WHILE DRIVING. IT IS LIKE A STUTTER OR SOMETHING. I HAD NAPLETON FORD CHECK IT OUT AND THEY INDICATED THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDS REPLACING. MY 2012 MODEL YEAR FORD FOCUS HAS A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION THAT HAS FAILED THREE TIMES BEFORE. NOW IT HAS FAILED FOR THE FOURTH TIME. THEY SYMPTOM IS FAILURE TO ENGAGE IN DRIVE AND THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE FROM STOP. IT WILL SHUDDER VIOLENTLY WHEN SHIFTING GEAR. THIS IS UNSAFE BECAUSE IT WILL HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING IN TRAFFIC ON CITY STREETS OR ON THE HIGHWAY. NOW THAT THE TRANMISSION HAS FAILED AGAIN FOR THE FORTH TIME, FORD WILL NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIR FULLY (THEY WILL ONLY COVER $750) WHILE I HAVE TO PAY THE REMAINING $1700. SINCE THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURING SINCE IN BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN 2011, I SHOULD NOT BE REPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. FURTHERMORE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE FIXED ONCE AN FOR ALL BY FORD. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WALK AWAY FROM THIS PROBLEM THAT IS LATENT IN THEIR PRODUCT. FORD WILL NOT COVER THE FULL REPAIR COST. INSTEAD I HAVE TO PAY $1700. THE DEALER FILED A CLAIM FOR ME WITH FORD AS FORD WILL NOT SPEAK TO ME ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THEY ADVISE ME TO ONLY WORK THROUGH THE DEALER WHEN I CALL THEM ON THE PHONE. THE DEALER HAS SINCE FILED AN APPEAL FOR ME AND INCLUDED ALL THE DOCUMENTATION WITH THE FULL HISTORY OF MY VEHICLE SHOWNING ALL THE PREVIOUS TIMES THAT THEY REPAIRED IT FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. HOWEVER FORD STILLL DID NOT AGREE TO COVER THE COST. THEY SAID $750 IS ALL THEY CAN AUTHORIZE FOR THIS REPAIR. I DO NOT KNOW HOW THEY CAME UP WITH THIS AMOUNT. HOWEVER, AS I SAID ABOVE, I THINK THIS IS A LATENT PROBLEM THAT INHERENT TO THIS CAR AND NOT RELATED TO HOW THE CAR IS USED. THE FAILURE OCCURS EVERY TWO YEARS. ITS IS NOT SAFE TO BE OUT IN TRAFFIC BECAUSE IT ME, MY FAMILY OR OTHERS.

LUGNUTS ON WHEELS ARE ROUNDED AND SWELLING MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE TOOL TO FIT OVER THEM TO REMOVE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THIS WILL PROLONG THE TIME A PERSON IS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD INCREASING THE CHANCE OF HARM.
INFORMED THAT THE STEERING ASSIST HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND LOOSE ALL POWER STEERING. LUCKILY SO FAR I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TURN CAR OFF AND RESTART AND HAVE THE STEERING FUNCTION PROPERLY.
AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE BEGAN ACTING AS IF IT DID NOT WANT TO GET UP TO SPEED AND WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 35MPH WITHOUT DRAMATICALLY JOLTING FORWARD. IT DID THIS A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE SWERVING A BIT AND FINALLY STALLING COMPLETELY, PRESSING THE GAS WOULD DO NOTHING TO GET THE CAR TO SPEED UP. I DID MANAGE TO GET IT TO A SIDE ROAD BEFORE HAVING IT TOWED TO THE DEALER.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT AND THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE DIAGNOSES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,834.

I BOUGHT A 2012 FOCUS SEL WITH 43000 MILES ON 1/15/2014. DROVE FROM NC. TO CA. 2 MONTHS LATER AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM THEN 6 MONTHS AFTER HAVING I WOULD GET RANDOM ALERTS SAYING "STEERING ASSIST FAILURE" BUT I COULD TURN OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT AND IT WOULD GO AWAY. WHEN THE MESSAGE CAME UP YOU LOST ALL STEERING ASSIST AND GOES INTO MANUAL. ON THUR. SEPT. 26, 2019, AT 630AM AS I STARTING DRIVING DOING ABOUT 25 MPH IT CAME N AND I LOST ALL STEERING. AS I SLOWED DOWN AND STARTED A TURN THE WHEELS LOCKED UP AND WENT UP THE CURB AND HIT A CINDER BLOCK WALL. NO DAMAGE TO THE WALL OTHER THEN SCRAPPED PAINT. I HAVE LOOKED UP THIS PROBLEM BEFORE AND KNEW MY TIME WAS COMING BUT HOPED FORD WOULD DO THE RIGHT THING AND RECALL THE FOCUS AS WELL AS THE OTHER THEY DID WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. NEXT STEP IS REPORTING IT TO NTSB. I DO NOT HAVE THE $3125.00 TO FIX THIS. YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THE CAR INDUSTRY LEARNED FROM THE GM SCREW UP BUT I GUESS NOT.

SENT CAR TO GET LOOKED AT SAID THE COMPUTER WAS GIVING THE CODE FOR SWITCH B CLUTCH, SPENT 365$TO GET IT FIXED AND THEN A LITTLE OVER A WEEK LATER PROBLEMS STARTED AGAIN BUT WORSE THAN BEFORE. MY CAR ONLY HAD 76,000 MILES ON IT, SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION YET.

MY VEHICLE VIBRATES, SHIMMIES, AND SHAKES ON TAKE OFF AND ON TURNS. DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ESPECIALLY CROSSING A HIGHWAY. I HAVE HAD IT ACCESSED AT MY FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION INPUT SEALS. THERE IS A PROGRAM OUT 14M01 THAT EXTENDS THE WARRANTY AND FIELD SERVICE ALERTS FOR THIS VEHICLE. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID THE VEHICLE IS COVERED. WHEN THE DEALERSHIP ENTERED IT IN THE SYSTEM, THE REPAIR WAS DENIED BY FORD. I KNOW THERE IS A LAW SUIT AGAINST FORD FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. I NEED HELP TO GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED BY FORD. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID THAT THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER SHOULD SUBMIT FOR WARRANTY. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE ARE DENYING THIS REPAIR. THIS DISPLAY HAS COME UP SEVERAL DIFFERENT TIMES IN ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF, MAYBE TWO YEARS BUT THEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THE DISPLAY DISAPPEARED AND EVERYTHING WAS OK. I ASKED FORD MECHANICS ABOUT THIS BUT THEY SAID UNLESS THE PROBLEM IS PRESENT WHEN I HAD THE CAR IN FOR OTHER SERVICE THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS TIME, THE DISPLAY HAS NOT GONE AWAY AND STEERING IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR OUR GRANDSON TO DRIVE TO WORK. ON SEPT 21 2019 HE WAS LEAVING WORK IN WALMART PARKING LOT WHEN HIS STEERING BECAME TO HARD FOR HIM TO DRIVE. HAD TO GO PICK HIM UP AT 11:00 PM THE ROAD HE DRIVES IS VERY CURVY WOULD HAVE BEEN DANGEROUS FOR HIM TO TRY DRIVING HOME . I KNOW OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM ITS A SHAME THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO BE INJURED OR KILLED BEFORE FORD MOTOR CO FIXES THIS PROBLEM.
THE FORD FOCUS TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH SYSTEM IS DANGEROUS TO BOTH THE OPERATOR AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. ALL FORD FOCUS/FIESTAS WITH THE DPS6 TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY RECALLED AND REMOVED FROM UNITED STATES' ROADWAYS. THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE REIMBURSED THE COST THEY PAID FOR THE VEHICLES AT THE EXPENSE OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY. THE INCONSISTENCIES IN ACCELERATION AND MAINTAINING GEAR ARE ENDANGERING LIVES. THE LONGER THESE MODELS STAY ON THE ROAD, THE MORE LIKELY THEY ARE TO FAIL. SINCE FORD IS NO LONGER REPLACING/REPAIRING THESE ISSUES, PEOPLE ARE BEING FORCED TO DRIVE DEFECTIVE CARS THAT CAN FAIL WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING AND RECALL THESE VEHICLES IMMEDIATELY. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD THE CLUTCH SYSTEM REPLACED 5 TIMES IN ONLY 62,000 MILES. THE TRANSMISSION IS NOW SLIPPING AGAIN BUT FORD REFUSES TO REPAIR IT FURTHER. I AM NOW DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT IS CONSIDERED DANGEROUS.
