THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE IS TERRIBLE. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR THE RECALL ON THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY BUT THAT HAS NOT HELPED THE ISSUE. THERE IS MAJOR HESITATION WHEN FIRST APPLY THE GAS PEDAL AT TAKE OFF AND IT CAUSE THE CAR TO "JUMP" OR HESITATE. THIS AS ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS ON MAY OCCASIONS AND YOU HAVE TO BE REALLY CAREFUL WHEN PULLING INTO THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. I FEEL THAT IT IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE AND I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE FIX IS SINCE THEY HAVE REPAIRED IT ONCE ALREADY. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ON A HIGHWAY, IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOPPED POSITION. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING ISSUE SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. IT IS THE LAST FORD PRODUCT I WILL EVER OWN, BAD DESIGN
I PURCHASED FORD FOCUS 2014 IN 2015 BRAND NEW WITH ONLY W FEW MILES ON IT, AFTER 2 MONTHS OF DRIVING I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. THE CAR STARTED TO JERK/ SHUDDER/SHAKE, WHEN I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO FORD DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT'S HOW THE TRANSMISSION IS MADE AND I WILL GET USE TO IT. FEW MONTHS LATER I TRY TO REVERS FROM A PARKING SPOT AND THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING, I CALLED FORD AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING THE CAR IN THEY DID SOFTWARE UPDATE. FEW MONTHS LATER WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR JERK SO HARD, I THOUGHT I WAS HIT BY A CAR. FORD REPLACED THE CLUTCH, AT LEAST THAT WAS I WAS TOLD. IN 2016 THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD SLAMMING INTO A CAR IN FRONT OF ME, THE DAMAGE TOTALING TO $23,000. FORD REPLACED THE CLUTCH 3 TIMES AND WITH THE LAST REPAIR THEY TRY TO CHARGE ME FOR THE CLUTCH WHICH I REFUSED TO PAY THE CAR WAS UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. I AM EXTREMELY AFRAID DRIVING THIS CAR EVERY LITTLE JERK I PANIC. THIS CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SCAFFIDI MOTORS PARTS DEPARTMENT (3733 STANLEY ST, STEVENS POINT, WI 54481, (715) 344-4100) WHERE THE AREA AROUND THE LOCKING MECHANISM WAS CLEANED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLEANING MAY NOT FIX THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OFT THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,900.
THE VEHICLE HAS REPORTED "STOP SAFELY NOW" AND DOESN'T START. LUCKILY THE CAR IS PARKED IN THE GARAGE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME OF HAPPENING WITHOUT ANY FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC DETAILS OR WARNING. LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING AND SHUT THE POWER TO THE WHEELS COMPLETELY.

THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
2014 FORD FOCUS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO CONTINUOUS PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE CLUTCH REPLACEMENTS AND TRANSMISSION REPROGRAMMING. CONSUMER SEEKS FINANCIAL REIMBURSEMENT FOR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS AND FRAUD OF VEHICLE PURCHASE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TWO CLUTCH REPLACEMENTS AND HAD BEEN SERVICED OVER 12 FOR COMPUTER REPROGRAMMING. DURING AN INSPECTION, WITH THE CONSUMER PRESENT, THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING LESS THAN 20 MILES . THE DOCUMENTS STATE THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT MISS-PERFORM, AS WAS NORMAL ON SHORT TRIPS ACCORDING TO THE CONSUMER. SEVERAL WEEKS PRIOR, THE CLUTCH WAS REPROGRAMMED THEN REPLACED. I APPROACHED A RED LIGHT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN. I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE ON COMING TRAFFIC HAD A GREEN LEFT ARROW ALLOWING THEM TO TURN THEM IN FRONT OF ME. ONCE THE TRAFFIC CLEARED, I STARTED MY RIGHT TURN. THE CAR STUTTERED AS I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME APPEARED TO ALMOST HIT ME AS MY ACCELERATION WAS ALMOST NOT EXISTENT. I PRESSED THE GAS FURTHER AND FINALLY AROUND 5500 RPM, THE CAR SEEMED TO 'ENGAGE' SINCE IT LURCHED AND THE TIRES CHIRPED A BIT AS THEY GRABBED THE PAVEMENT.

THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SAFETY BELT FAILED TO LATCH WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED DUE TO NOT BEING AUTHORIZED BY THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT TO REMEDY THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED TWO BLACK EYES AND CURRENTLY HAS AN UMBILICAL HERNIA. THE CONTACT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I PURCHASED A NEW 2014 FORD FOCUS IN FEBRUARY 2015 WITH 15 MILES ON IT. DROVE THE CAR FOR 5 MONTHS WITH NO ISSUES, THEN IN JUNE I NOTICED A TERRIBLE SHUDDER WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN. IT ALSO MAKES A GRINDING NOISE WHILE TRYING TO GET IN GEAR AND TAKE OFF. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO THE ORIGINATING DEALERSHIP 6 TIMES SO FAR. I''VE HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED, THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED 4 TIMES, AND STILL NO FIX. I WILL NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO DRIVE THE CAR, NOR WILL I LET ANYONE RIDE WITH ME IN IT DUE TO THE POOR PERFORMANCE. THE CAR IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO OPERATE AND VERY EMBARRASSING TO MYSELF ON THE ROAD. IT HAS CHANGED THE WAY I DRIVE OTHER CARS AS WELL. I ANTICIPATE A SHUDDER, LURCH, JERK, GRIND FROM OTHER CARS WHILE I'M DRIVING DO TO WHAT I EXPERIENCE ON A DAILY BASIS IN THIS CAR. THE TIME, STRESS AND FRUSTRATION THIS CAR HAS CAUSED ME AND MY FAMILY IS EXHAUSTING AND SO DISAPPOINTING. THIS IS THE FIRST FORD THAT I'VE PURCHASED AND WILL DEFINITELY BE MY LAST. WHEN I FIRST GOT THE CAR, I NOTICED, SLIGHT JERKING AND SHUDDERING. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD IT WAS "LEARNING". IT PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE, AND WOULD SHUDDER UPON HITTING THE GAS AFTER LEAVING STOP LIGHTS/SIGNS INSTEAD OF MOVING, UNTIL IT FINALLY GOT INTO GEAR. IT WOULD RANDOMLY LURCH FORWARD, WHITE IN TRAFFIC IF YOU HIT THE GAS AFTER YOU WERE SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPED. ETC. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AGAIN, AND THEY FLASHED THE MODULE. IT STOPPED FOR A WHILE, THEN STARTED GETTING WORSE. I CONTACTED THE DEALER, AND THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCH PACK. IT WOULD GET BETTER, THEN START HAPPENING. I WAS THEN TOLD BY THE DEALER, AND FORD, THIS IS NORMAL. IT'S JUST HOW THE TRANSMISSION IS. WHILE COMING OFF OF AN EXIT, I HIT THE GAS AND THE CAR PULLED ONTO THE ROAD, THEN JUST WOULDN'T MOVE. I PUSHED THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND IT STARTED SHUDDERING, AND FINALLY GOT IN GEAR AND LURCHED FORWARD. I CONTACTING THE DEALER AGAIN, EXPLAINING HOW UNSAFE THE CAR WAS WITH IT STOPPING AND SHUDDERING BEFORE IT WILL GO, OR JUST RANDOMLY LURCHING FORWARD IN TRAFFIC. THE DEALER FLASHED THE COMPUTER 4 TIMES, AND REPLACED THE CLUTCH PACK 3 TIMES. IT ALWAYS GETS BETTER, THEN STARTS HAPPENING AGAIN. I FINALLY TRADED THE CAR IN. IT'S VERY UNSAFE WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOUR CAR WILL JUST STOP AND SHUDDER WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC, OR IF IT WILL LURCH FORWARD WHEN YOU TOUCH THE GAS. I'VE BEEN TOLD THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT. FORD NOW EVEN OFFERS A REBATE IF YOU TRADE IN A CAR WITH THAT TRANSMISSION, BUT YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE A FORD TO GET THE REBATE. THEY ALSO STILL MANUFACTURE THEIR CARS WITH A KNOWN ISSUE.
THE 2014 FORD FOCUS SE. MY MOM AND I TRADED IN ANOTHER VEHICLE FOR THIS CAR. IT WAS WORKING FINE AT THE FIRST 3 MONTHS OF HAVING IT, BUT THEN AFTER THE SECOND MONTH, THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS CAR STARTED TO FAIL. IT WOULD START TO SHUTTER AND CAUSE YOU TO HAVE PROBLEMS ACCELERATING TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH THE CAR AHEAD OF ME AFTER EACH FULL STOP, OR DURING TRAFFIC HOURS ON A FREEWAY/HIGHWAY. THIS VEHICLE ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WHEN I WAS JUST BARELY GETTING ON THE FREEWAY I TRIED PUSHING THE GAS PEDDLES TO REACH 65MPH, BUT FOR SOME QUESTIONABLE REASON THE GEARS WERE HAVING TROUBLE SWITCHING AND AS I LOOK AT THE METER GAGE IT SHOWED 50MPH. I PUSH MORE ON THE GAS PEDDLE TO GET MORE SPEED AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE HIGHER THAN 55MPH. FOR SOME APPEARENT REASON IT STAYED STUCK AT 50-55MPH. I'M QUITE DISAPPOINTED ON THE DEALERS WHO SOLD US THE CAR WHICH THEY KNEW THE ISSUE OF THESE PARTICULAR VEHICLES, AND ALSO THE MANUFACTURERS WHO HAVE CAUSE CONCERN FOR WHO EVER HAD BOUGHT THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. I WOULD APPRECIATE IF THEY WOULD JUST RECALL ANY FORD FOCUS OR ANY OTHER VEHICLES THAT HAVE SUCH MALFUNCTIONING. AMERICA IS SUPPOSE TO BE AT THE TOP, BUT WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THIS ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. I'M WAS BORN IN THE PHILIPPINES, BUT I WAS RAISE IN THE USA. I ALWAYS THOUGHT THE US WAS ONE TOP NOTCH PLACE TO LIVE. AMERICA IS THE LIFE AND I EXPECT ALOT FROM THEE HIGHER UP'S/BOSSES.. FOR SURE THOUGH, SAFETY FIRST FOR ALL VEHICLES DESIGNED AND CREATED AND MANUFACTURED HERE IN AMERICA OR WHEREVER THEY GOT THEIR VEHICLES.. THIS PLACE IS ONE GREAT PLACE TO LIVE. WE SHOULD LIVE UP TOWARDS TRUE FUTURE EXPECTATIONS OF ANY TYPE OF CRUCIAL DESIGNS OF WHAT SO EVER OR SOME SORT. AMERICA LETS STEP UP THE RICHTER SCALE OF EXCLUSIVENESS. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER UP TO TEN TIMES BEFORE THE LATCH, SPRING, AND WIRING WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,500.
I AM TREATING THIS AS A NEW OCCURRENCE, OR AT LEAST FORD TOLD ME I HAD TO START AT THE BEGINNING. I PURCHASED MY CAR IN MARCH 2014. IN OCTOBER 2014, I HAD THE HEATING CORE REPLACED AND THE CLUTCH REPLACED. I WENT THROUGH SEVERAL MONTHS OF TAKING THE CAR BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALER WITH SHIFTING ISSUES. THE WOULD HAND ME A PIECE OF PAPER AND TELL ME IT WAS NORMAL. AFTER IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND I SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER, I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION VIBRATIONS FAR EXCEEDED THE NORMAL AND THEY WERE AUTHORIZED TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH. AT TIME OF REPLACEMENT, THEY FOUND SHARDS OF METAL IN THE BELL HOUSING. SO I WOULD SAY ABOUT 4 MONTHS AFTER THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCH, IT HAS STARTED TO DO THE EXACT SAME THINGS THAT IT DID BEFORE THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED. SOMETIMES YOU CAN HIT THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR WILL NOT GO, SOMETIMES, THE CAR WILL JERK WHEN BEING BACKED UP SOMETIMES. I HAVE NOW HAD THE CAR LURCH FORWARD AND LURCH BACKWARD AND MY FOOT WAS NOT EVEN ON THE GAS PEDAL. WHEN IT LURCHED FORWARD, I WAS TRAVELING AT A VERY LOW SPEED IN A PARKING GARAGE AND AS PEOPLE WERE CROSSING IN FRONT OF ME THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD, MY FOOT WAS NOT EVEN ON THE GAS PEDAL. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY, ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS. AND THE CAR AGAIN SOUNDS LIKE IT IS GRINDING AS IT SHIFTS GEARS. THE DEALER DID A SHIFT RPMS TEST (AGAIN) AND SAID EVERYTHING IN NEW CLUTCH IS WITHIN SPECS BUT RESET THE COMPUTER. THEY DID THAT SEVERAL TIMES THE LAST TIME. I THINK THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CAR LURCHES WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS NOT TOUCHED. THE DEALER ADVISED ME THAT FORD DOES NOT HAVE AREA SERVICE MANAGERS AND THAT I JUST HAVE TO FOLLOW THEIR PROCEDURES. MY CAR IS ONLY 14 MONTHS OLD. LAT SHIFT RPMS 2516-2266 250 RPM 2974-2754 220 RPM, IS THE RESULTS THEY HAVE ON MY PAPERWORK MA 08/04/15 UPDATED 10/25/2017*CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD AND INTERMITTENTLY STALLED. THE DEALER INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V514000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL BUT THE FAILURE REOCCURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.
THE TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS VERY BADLY TYPICALLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD WHEN I PRESS ON THE GAS AND THEN SUDDENLY JOLT FORWARD UNPREDICTABLY. SOMETIMES IT WILL GET STUCK IN AN INTERSECTION WITH VIRTUALLY NO ACCELERATION BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT TO THE CORRECT GEAR. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR. FORD DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT MY CAR ON 6/16/2015 AND SAID THEY HAVE TO ORDER A NEW TRANSMISSION, BUT IT WILL NOT COME IN FOR 8-12 WEEKS. SO I AM STUCK DRIVING THIS UNSAFE CAR FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME UNTIL THE NEW PART COMES IN TO FIX THE PROBLEM (IF IT EVEN FIXES THE PROBLEM).
MY CAR HAS 33581 MILES AND ALREADY PUT SECOND SET OF TIRES ON IT. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS NO GOOD. PROBLEM STARTED AT 3000 MILES WHEN THE CAR TOTALLY SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE BETWEEN SYLVA,NC AND WAYNESVILLE ,NC . THE CAR WILL NOT TAKE A HILL WITHOUT SPINNING TIRES, IT EVEN DOES IT AT RED LIGHTS....HELP.
SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN MARCH OF 2014, IT HAS BUCKED AT SLOW ACCELERATION AT SPEEDS OF 10-25 MILES PER HOUR. THIS CAUSED VIBRATION OF THE REAR END AND INCONSISTENT ACCELERATION. IT OCCURS MORE OFTEN IN HOT WEATHER. I HAVE HAD IT CHECK TWICE, BUT THE DEALERS SAY THAT IT IS NORMAL WITH THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION. IT ALSO IS MORE PREVALENT IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC.
I PURCHASED MY NEW 2014 FORD FOCUS IN FEBRUARY 2015 WITH LESS THAN 100 MILES ON IT. DROVE THE CAR FOR 5 MONTHS WITH NO ISSUES, THEN IN JUNE I NOTICED A TERRIBLE SHUDDER WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN. THE CAR JUMPS AND THEN SHUDDERS WHEN TAKING OFF FROM STOP. IT MAKES A GRINDING NOISE WHILE TRYING TO GET IN GEAR AND TAKE OFF. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO THE ORIGINATING DEALERSHIP TWICE, SO FAR. I AM CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF WAITING ON A PART FROM FORD TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE. PER FORD, THEY ARE APPLYING CLUTCHES TO THE TRANSMISSION TO RESOLVE THIS RECURRING PROBLEM. THE CAR, IN MY OPINION, IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND VERY EMBARRASSING TO MYSELF ON THE ROAD. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL DIFFERENT MAKES AND MODELS OF VEHICLES IN MY LIFE BUT HAVE NEVER DEALT WITH ANYTHING SO FRUSTRATING AS THIS WITH ANY OF THE CARS. THIS IS THE FIRST FORD THAT I'VE PURCHASED AND I AM A VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER, TO SAY THE LEAST. IF THE PART/CLUTCH DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM, I WILL BE FILING A LEMON LAW SUIT AGAINST FORD.
THIS IS THE 2ND INCIDENT INVOLVING CONTINENTAL CONTACT TIRES. WE OWN A FORD FOCUS 2014 WITH THE CONTINENTAL CONTACT TIRES. IN APPROXIMATELY, FEBRUARY 2015 THE LEFT FRONT TIRE DEVELOPED A BLISTER. TODAY, 6/11/15, A BLISTER WAS NOTICED ON THE SIDEWALL OF THE LEFT REAR TIRE. FORD DECLINED TO PAY FOR THE TIRE.
MY DAUGHTER'S FORD FOCUS SHUDDERS AND HESITATES WHEN SWITCHING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC, BUT HAS SOME SORT OF INTERNAL CLUTCH OR SIMILAR DEVICE ACCORDING TO FORD. IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR A FEW MONTHS AND WAS TAKEN INTO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR ON JUNE 10. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND THAT IT WAS ON BACK ORDER. THEY ARE TELLING US ALMOST 2 MONTHS LATER THAT IT IS STILL ON BACK ORDER WITH NO PROJECTED SHIP DATE. IT IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO HAVE A CAR THAT HESITATES DURING ACCELERATION, AND I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER WHEN THEY ARE IN THIS VEHICLE. ATTEMPTS TO ESCALATE THIS TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE OVER THE PAST TWO WEEKS HAVE RESULTED IN NO NEW INFORMATION, NO PROJECTED RESOLUTION AND NO ONE AT FORD CORPORATE TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT I HAVE INDICATED IS A SAFETY ISSUE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE ARE STEPS THAT NHTSA CAN TAKE TO ADDRESS THIS SITUATION.
THE CAR STALLED WITH THE BIG TRIANGLE "STOP TO SAFETY" FLASHING. . IT STARTED STALLING AT EVERY STOP SIGNS AND SIGNALS. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE THE KIDS WERE IN THE CAR AND THERE WAS NO WAY TO PULL TO SAFETY. THIS RESULTED IN SEVERAL TRAFFIC BACK UPS. THE INCIDENT REPEATED EVERY DAY AND FINALLY THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON JUNE 16. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE SAME INCIDENT IS TAKING PLACE. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS IN DEC, 2014. AS OF THIS DATE OF COMPLAINT, THE DEALER HAS NOT RETURNED THE CAR.

WHEN THE CAR IS AT A STOP, WHILE THE VEHICLE IS WARM, WHEN YOU START TO TAKE OFF THE VEHICLE JERKS AND DOES NOT PROPERLY ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION. AT AN INTERSECTION OR WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC THE VEHICLE DOES NOT RESPOND PROPERLY AND CAUSE A DANGER TO PASSENGERS AND ALL OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. THE LONGER THE CAR IS RUNNING TRANSMISSION SLIPS MORE AND MORE CAUSING CAR TO CONTINUOUSLY SHUTTER AND JERK. SHUTTERING INCREASED WHEN ON THE INTERSTATE FOR AN HOUR . THIS CAR WAS PURCHSED NEW FOR MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER WITH LESS THAN 45,000 MILES. WE ARE HAVING A HECK OF A TIME GETTING ROUNTREE MOORE FORD IN LAKE CITY, FL TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, THOUGH THEY HAVE REFLASHED IT ONCE. IF MY DAUGHTER ENCOUNTERS AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS PROBLEM I WILL SUE THE FORD MANUFACTURER AND THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. GOD HELP THEM IF ITS FATAL.

THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY REPLACED THE "RACK" BUT THAT THE VEHICLE STILL HAD THE SAME STEERING PROBLEMS. THIS IS AFTER THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCHES AGAIN IN THIS VEHICLE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE EPAS (ELECTRIC POWER ASSISTED STEERING) IN THESE CARS. THIS CAR HAS MAJOR PROBLEMS.

IN LATE MAY 2015, I NOTICED A BUBBLE IN MY DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INSISTED THAT IT WAS MY FAULT. I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE TIRE. NOW, NOT EVEN TWO MONTHS LATER, I NOW HAVE A BUBBLE IN MY PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE. THE TIRES ARE FROM THE SAME BATCH. THE TIRES ARE CONTINENTAL CONTIPROCONTACT 215/55R16 93H TIRES. WITH THESE BEING POTENTIAL BLOWOUTS, THESE TIRES ARE UNSAFE. THE BUBBLES MUST BE A DEFECT. I NEVER HAD ISSUES WITH THE TIRES ON MY OLD CAR.

RIGHT AFTER WE BOUGHT THE CAR, WHEN WE ACCELERATE THE CAR SHUTTERS AND SHAKES. IT WILL ALSO HESITATE WHICH HAS CAUSED US TO ALMOST BE REAR ENDED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CAR HAS SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE AND WILL HAVE TO HAVE BODY WORK. WHEN THIS HAPPENED I STARTED TO LOOK TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS FOR THIS AND SAW THAT THE FORD FOCUS IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, HOWEVER IT IS INCLUDED IN A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT BECAUSE OF FORD'S FAILURE TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND HANDLE THE PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING. ONE DEALER (TRACY FORD) THINKS IT IS CHEMICAL FROM PLASTIC, THE OTHER DEALER THAT MADE US PAY 150$ FOR NOT FIXING ANYTHING MUCH, DOESNT KNOW WHAT CAUSED IT AND WILL NOT PERFORM ANY WORK OTHER THAN THE BASIC CHECK BECAUSE THEY SAID IT WOULD COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO TAKE APART MORE PARTS THAN THE BASIC LOOK AROUND CHECK. WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT WHAT THIS SMELL IS, AS IN IS IT DANGEROUS OR NOT. WE ASKED FORD 800 NUMBER TO INVESTIGATE, BUT THEY SAID THE DEALER HAS TO CONFIRM THAT IS A DEFECT FOR THEM TO COVER THE COST. WHILE THE DEALER WOULD NOT PERFORM ANY FURTHER INVESTIGATION, UNLESS SOMEONE WILL PAY THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. SO WE ARE STUCK WITH A CAR THAT IS TOO STINKY TO DRIVE, PAID 150$ ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT IF WE WANT THEM TO INVESTIGATE MORE, WE HAVE TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. THE BRAND NEW CAR IS BOTH TOO STINKY TO DRIVE, AND TOO STINKY TO SELL. IT IS BRAND NEW YET WE COULD NOT DRIVE IT. THE DEALER AND FORD ARE BOTH WASHING THEIR HANDS AND DONT WANT TO COVER THE COST. The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 MPH, after coming to a stop, the vehicle started jerking and sputtering. The contact stated that she thought the vehicle was going to lose motive power however, the vehicle remained running. The contact stated that no warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle had been repaired under an unknown recall 2 years ago for the fuel injection or fuel tank. The contact stated that recently while driving, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle was sputtering. The contact stated that she had to depress the accelerator pedal for the vehicle to remain running. The vehicle was taken to an Auto Zone to be diagnosed. The DTC reading stated power train system and reprogram transmission control module. The Auto Zone employee advised her to contact a Ford dealer. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

THE DEALERSHIP EVEN SAID ON INVOICE, "OPERATORS SHOULD READ OWNERS MANUAL FOR CHARACTERISTICS OF OPERATION." THE CAR IS NOW AROUND 11,000 AND THE ISSUE CONTINUES TO PRESENT ITSELF. THE DEALERSHIP HAS DONE SEVERAL "SOFTWARE UPDATES," WITH NONE EVER WORKING. THEY ARE INCAPABLE OF HANDLING TRANSMISSION WORK AT THEIR SHOP, SO WE HAD IT TOWED 120 MILES TO MIAMI, WHERE THE "HARDWARE WAS UPGRADED." THE CAR HAS BEEN BACK LESS THAN TWO WEEKS, AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION IS ACTING UP AGAIN.
WHEN THE VEHICLE COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP THEN WHEN YOU SPEED UP IT JERKS 5 TO 8 TIME FAILING TO SPEED UP. THE ONLY WAY IT CAN SPEED UP IS IF YOU PRESS THE PEDAL MORE AND TRY TO GO FASTER. ALSO TODAY 5/6/2015 WE WERE AT THE INTERSTATE AND WE WERE IN TRAFFIC AND THE CAR DIDN'T WANTED TO PICK UP, ONLY IF YOU PRESS THE PEDAL MORE THEN IS MAKING THE CAR GO FASTER THEN I WANT TO GO. IS LIKE IT DOESN'T WANT TO GO NO WHERE. THEN ON MY WAY BACK ON THE INTERSTATE I PRESS THE PEDAL AND AT 30 MPH GOING UP THE SLOPE I SLOWED DOWN IT DID A HARD JERK.
