I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 60 AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND AN ALERT POPPED UP ON MY DASH SAYING 'DRIVER ASSIST FAULT. REPAIR REQUIRED', IT WENT AWAY AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES BUT IT HAS HAPPENED ONCE AGAIN SINCE THEN AND THE FIRST OCCURRENCE ONLY HAPPENED YESTERDAY. AND AS WELL TO THAT MY TRANSMISSION WHICH IS A 6 SPEED IS STIFF AND STICKS A LOT WHERE I CAN'T CHANGE GEARS IMMEDIATELY.
WENT INTO A STORE, PARKED IN PARKING SPOT, CAME OUT, GOT IN CAR, PLACED CAR IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF SPOT, CAR BEGAN TO BACK UP, THEN SLOWED DOWN AND STOPPED WITH ENGINE STILL ON,. I THEN PLACED CAR IN DRIVE, WENT FORWARD, THEN ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT AGAIN, CAR BACKED UP, THEN SLOWED DOWN AGAIN, THEN JERKED REALLY HARD. AFTER WAITING FOR THE CARS PARKED ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE OF ME TO LEAVE, I PLACED CAR IN REVERSE AGAIN, IT STOPPED AGAIN, I PLACED CAR IN DRIVE, CAR ACCELERATED SLOWLY, THEN GAVE A HARD JERK AGAIN, AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE FORWARD AND MAKE A COMPLETE CIRCLE, AND DRIVE FORWARD OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT A HALF A MILE HOME . UPON ENTERING MY DRIVEWAY, CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AND STOPPED WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES IMMEDIATELY. THE CAR SAT FOR 24HRS, I THEN TRIED TO START IT UP, IT STARTED UP, BUT WHEN I PLACED IT INTO REVERSE, IT DID NOT MOVE AT ALL.
CAR STALLS AND TURNS OFF WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPING AT LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN TWO WRECKS. THIS RECALL HAPPENED BEFORE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND THE CAR COMPANY FAILED TO GIVE ME INFORMATION ABOUT RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING HOME (FIVE HOUR ROAD TRIP) NOISES STARTED COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. FELT LIKE IT WAS IS BINDING AND GRINDING. THIS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY HOME, LATER ON CITY STREETS, WHEN TURNING. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY CAR TO SAVANNAH TIRE TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG. THE DX WAS RACK AND PINION. THEY COULD NOT REPAIR MY CAR. I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE PROBLEM STARTED AROUND THE FIRST OF JULY. MY STEERING NOT WORKING PROPERLY ON A FIVE YEAR CAR IS A PROBLEM, THIS MADE MY CAR UNSAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE. AT ANY TIME MY STEERING GEAR COULD HAVE WENT OUT CAUSING ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT HURTING MYSELF OR OTHERS. I COULD HAVE DIED. FORD HAS HAD STEERING ISSUES IN THE PAST ON MY CAR. THE CAR HAS HAD THREE RECALLS. ONE FORD RECALLED ON THERE OWN (STEERING ISSUES). I HAD TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED ON MY OWN PAYING THE AMOUNT OF $2,457.70 PLEASE FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS RECALL THIS, SO THAT FORD CAN TAKE RESPONSIBLY FOR THE SAFETY OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR.
I HAD MY FORD FOCUS TRANSMISSION REPAIRED AT LEAST THREE TIMES SO FAR. AS OF TODAY, THE CAR IS STILL STALLING AND JERKING. I SCHEDULED A SERVICE MAINTENANCE TODAY. BUT, I WAS TURNED DOWN BY TODD ( SERVICE REP) AND BOB (SERVICE MANAGER) BECAUSE THE LEVEL OF EFFECTIVENESS WAS NOT AMOUNTED TO 250. THEREFORE, THEY RECOMMEND THAT I SHOULD CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR AS IS AND RISK MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY LIFE IS WORTH MORE THAN $3000.
MY CAR APPEARS TO OVER HEAT WHILE IDLED; SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY AND AGAIN WAITING IN A DRIVE THROUGH. THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE OVER A YEAR AGO AND IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A RECALL TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND IT WAS FIXED. I RECEIVE A WARNING STATING THAT THE CAR IS TOO HOT PULL OVER BECAUSE IT WILL CUT OFF. I TURN OFF MY CAR FOR A MINUTE OR LESS AND IT RETURNS TO NORMAL. THIS TAKES PLACE IF THE AC IS ON OR NOT.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY STIFF WHILE EXITING THE RAMP NEARLY CAUSING ME TO VEER INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC. THIS VEHICLE HAS ALREADY HAS HAD A CLUTCH REPLACEMENT ALONG WITH A RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION... I WAS UNABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING THAT DAY AS I WAS TERRIFIED. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO FORD DEALER AND THE HAVE SAID IT NEEDED A STEERING RACK REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER $2000 I UNFORTUNATELY DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY AT THIS TIME FOR REPAIR SO I HAD TO DRIVE IT ONCE MORE TO TAKE IT HOME , WHICH WAS ANOTHER SCARY ORDEAL.. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND THERE SEEMS TO AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH STEERING.. I HAVE ATTACHED THE DIAGNOSTIC REPORT AND ALSO A SUMMARY ON PREVIOUS WORK DONE. *TR

I HAVE A 2015 FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS ALREADY FAILED AND MY VAN IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST EVEN THOUGH THERE'S BEEN A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT GO INTO SECOND GEAR I'M ONLY DRIVING FIXED.
THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED, AND STOPPED, AND WOULD NOT START IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC SEVERAL TIMES, INCLUDING THE LAST INCIDENT WHERE POLICE HAD TO ASSIST AT A RED LIGHT. SO TRAUMATIC, NOT DRIVEN SINCE AND CONTINUE TO PAY NOTES AND INSURANCE. HAVE HAD VECHILE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES, AND PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. PLEASE HELP. THANKS.
POWER STEERING FAILED. MY GRANDSON PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE AND A WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WE DISCOVERED IT WAS THE POWER STEERING. THANK GOODNESS WE WERE NOT DRIVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED AS WE HAD BEEN RUNNING ERRANDS ALL DAY. *TR
WHEN IDLING FOR SO LONG THE CAR JUST DIED. I OPENED THE DOOR AND THE ALARM WENT HAYWIRE. THEN I HAVE TO WAIT 20 TO 30 MINUTES BEFORE I CAN RESTART THE CAR. NOTHING WILL WORK AFTER IT DOES THIS UNTIL IT'S ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. IT'S BEEN AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED TRANSMISSION ISSUE, SAID THAT SHOULD FIX IT, BUT IT STILL KEEPS ON. *TR

THE DRAIN PLUG FOR THE B6 6-SPEED TRANSMISSION COMES LOOSE AND CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TO BLEED OUT. CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO BURN UP. THIS IS A FACTORY SHIELD SYSTEM NO WAY TO CHECK FLUID LEVEL. APPARENTLY THE FLUIDS LEAK WHILE TRAVELING. *TR
THIS VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR SHUDDERING AND HESITATION, IT WAS WORKING FINE BUT LATELY THE PROBLEM IS BACK.
WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL AT IDLE, THERE IS A LOUD GRINDING NOISE. THERE IS NO INCREASE IN RESISTANCE. WHEN DRIVING THE POWER ASSIST INTERMITTENTLY WILL FAIL. IT SEEMS TO GO ON AND OFF AS YOU DRIVE AT 35-45 MPH ON CITY STREETS. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING SIMPLY FOLLOWING THE CURVES IN THE ROAD. I WILL NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ANY FASTER AS I AM CONCERNED IF IT FAILS UNEXPECTEDLY AT HIGHER SPEED, IT WILL RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE 2011-2014 VEHICLES WERE RECALLED BUT THIS MODEL YEAR WAS NOT.
TRANSMISSION- WAS DENIED SERVICE FOR CLUTCH REPLACEMENT DUE TO MILEAGE OVER 100,000. THOUGH I FILED COMPLAINT AT 90,000 MILES. ALSO, TRANSMISSION LEAKS DUE TO THE FAULTY TRANSMISSION. UNSAFE DUE TO POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD. FUEL- FUEL TANK WAS REPAIRED BY CERTIFIED SERVICE DEALER, SINCE THE REPAIR I'VE BEEN STRANDED 7X DUE TO UNABLE TO GET FUEL. HALF TANK OF GAS TRAVELING HIGH SPEEDS ON INTERSTATE WITH TRAFFIC AND CAR SHUTS OFF, I LOSE ABILITY TO CONTROL VEHICLE. 3X I'VE BARELY AVOIDED COLLISION. SINGLE MOM, ONE VEHICLE. SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING LOCALLY AND ON A STRAIGHT ROAD AT 50 MILES/HR, I SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING ABILITY. I WAS ALSO NOTIFIED VIA THE DASHBOARD COMMUNICATION SYSTEM "STEERING LOSS - STOP SAFELY". I WAS ABLE TO MUSCLE THE CAR OFF THE ROAD AND EVENTUALLY BACK HOME. I CALLED THE FORD DEALER TO BE TOLD THIS HAPPENS AND WOULD BE AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR. I ALSO RESEARCHED AND SEE THAT THIS IS A PREVALENT PROBLEM WITH FORD AND CHEVY VEHICLES. AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, THE LOSS OF STEERING CAPABILITY - SUDDENLY, WITHOUT WARNING IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER. WE ARE TALKING THE INABILITY TO CONTROL A 2000 POUND SLEDGEHAMMER WHEN THIS OCCURS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE STOUT ROSS FORD LOCATED AT 325 WINTER SHOW RD, WINTER SHOW, ND 58072, WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000.
EVERY 4 DAYS THE STEREO DROPS THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION. THOUGHT MAYBE IT NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THEN I NOTICED MY MPG WAS ONLY AT 13.3MPG WHILE HIGHWAY DRIVING. FURTHER INVESTIGATION I NOTICED MY DISTANCE TO E WOULD SOMETIMES READ 415 MILES AFTER FILLING UP THEN IT WOULD SAY 226 OR EVEN 183. AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE? CONTACTED A COUPLE OF FORD DEALERSHIPS BECAUSE MY WARRANTY & EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED ( MIND YOU THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD) STARTING TO HAVE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND FORD WANTS TO CHARGE ME TO EVEN LOOK AT IT. IF I AM WRONG PLEASE SOMEONE EDUCATE ME. ALSO RESETTING THE SYNC SYSTEM HELPS WITH THE BLUETOOTH PROBLEM BUT I ALSO HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR 30 SECONDS. *TR

THE REPAIR WAS STARTED COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. CAR FRONT END TOTALLED FRONT HEAD ON IMPACT AIR BAGS NON DEPLOYMENT. SPEED 55 60 MILES PERHOUR. INJURY ACCIDENT.
SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE SAME, EVEN AFTER THE LOCAL FORD DEALER REBUILT? THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE NOTICED THIS ONLY FROM ANY STOP, WHICH CAN BE AT A STOPLIGHT, STOP SIGN OR PARKING AREA. I CAN AND WILL GIVE TODAY'S MILEAGE BUT THAT IS INSUFFICIENT SINCE THIS HAS BEEN A PERPETUAL PROBLEM. AFTER THE LOCAL DEALER REBUILT? THE TRANSMISSION IT IS LESS BUT THE CAR HAS JUMPED THE CURB AT A FAST FOOD WHEN I WANTED TO SLIGHTLY MOVE THE CAR FORWARD, ALMOST HIT THE BUILDING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IMAGE FROM THE BACK-UP CAMERA WAS NOT CLEAR WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,500.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the check engine warning light had been illuminating from the time the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where no issue was found. The contact also stated that the vehicle failed to reverse when the gear shifter was shifted into reverse. There were several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000.

VEHICLE SHAKES AND TRANSMISSION SLIPS WHEN PULLING OUT FROM A STOP. IT DOES THIS EVERY TIME YOU PULL OUT FROM A STOPPED POSITION.
I HAVE A 2015 FORD FOCUS THAT I GOT FINANCE THROUGH MARIN COUNTY FORD, APRIL 2017. I HAVE TAKEN MAY CAR TO MARIN COUNTY FORD AND RECENTLY HILLTOP FORD REGARDING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR CITY/HIGHWAY IT SHUDDERS, HAS SLOW SPEED, SHIFTING GEARS, RUNNING HOT AND WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE. I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO HILLTOP FORD AND THEY DIDN'T FIX THE TRANSMISSION. THEY BROKE THE COOLANT TUBE AND CHARGE ME TO FIX IT. THE ISSUES HAVE NOT BEING RESOLVED AS OF MAY 21, 2020 MY CAR IS UNDRIVABLE AND I HAVE TO REGISTER IT NEXT MONTH BY JULY 7, 2020 AS NON OPERABLE. HILLTOP FORD REFUSE TO HONOR THE RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. *TR
MY 1.0L FOCUS HAD A DEFECTIVE CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND SUFFERED FROM STALLING AS DESCRIBED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN 18V735000. THE ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC CODES AND LOCAL FORD DEALER DIAGNOSIS CONFIRMED THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE HAD FAILED. THE ONLY REMEDY WAS TO PAY FOR MY LOCAL DEALER TO REPLACE THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE OUT OF POCKET SINCE MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE REFERENCED RECALL. THERE ARE MANY OTHER 1.0L FOCUS OWNERS THAT HAVE SAID THEIR CANISTER PURGE VALVES HAVE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ONLINE FORUMS.. *TR

I LITERALLY JUST BOUGHT THE CAR WITH THE SHUDDERING WHEN COMING OFF OF A COMPLETE STOP AND WAS TOLD IT WAS MY TIRES. I HAVE GOTTEN ALL NEW TIRES AND IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM NOT SOLVED. THEN MY CAR STARTED TO HAVE A BIGGER PROBLEM WITH THE RADIO ONE DAY OUT OF NO WHERE MY SPEAKERS STARTED TO BE STATICKY. THE NEXT DAY IT WAS STATIC AND VERY LOUD POPPING NOISE ALMOST MAKING ME GET INTO AN ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE IT IS SO LOUD. I HAVE TO PULL OVER EVERY 10 MINUTES AND SHUT THE CAR OFF WITH MOST OF THE TIME THE NOISE STILL GOING WITH THE CAR OFF. NOW I CANNOT SEE ANYTHING ON MY RADIO SCREEN OTHER THAN THE DATE AND TIME WITH A BLACK SCREEN. I HAVE THE RADIO AND SCREEN OFF AND THIS LOUD POPPING / STATIC NOISE IS UNSAFE TILL THIS DAY. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT SUPPORTS THE RADIO. I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT THIS ELECTRICAL BECAUSE SOMETHING LEAKED FROM THE RADIO AREA, BURNING THE CAR INTERIOR NEAR THE RADIO. CAR WOULD SHUTTER THAN STOP RUNNING WHILE IT WAS IN MOTION. THE OIL LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT WOULD COME ON. ONLY ONCE THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THEN THE CAR WOULDN'T START AGAIN FOR AWHILE, AT LEAST 20 MINUTES. THIS PROBLEM WOULD KEEP ON HAPPENING THE LONGER THE CAR HAD BEEN ON, FOR EXAMPLE, EVERY TIME WE HAD TO STOP, SUCH AS AT A STOP LIGHT ON A CITY STREET, THE CAR WOULD SHUTTER THEN SHUT OFF. ONCE, IT HAD SHUT OFF ON AN EXPRESSWAY AS I WAS ABOUT TO GO ON AN EXIT AND IT WOULDN'T TURN ON AGAIN FOR AN HOUR.
