GOT THE CAR AROUND 31K MILES I'VE BEEN DOING UBER SINCE I'M A COLLEGE STUDENT WHO DESPERATELY NEEDS MONEY ALL THE TIME. MY TRANSMISSION JUST WENT ON MY 2015 FORD FOCUS SE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WHILE I HAD A PASSENGER. I WAS GOING ABOUT 20 MPH AROUND A ROUND ABOUT, WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STALLED. ON THE DASH IT SAID TRANSMISSION IS OVERHEATING WAIT 5 MINUTES. SO I DID. THE TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR. I HAD A PREVIOUS 2013 MODEL WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. TO THINK FORD WOULD OF FIXED THE PROBLEM, THEY CONTINUED TO SELL THESE CARS. KNOWING THEY HAD FAILURE WITH THE TRANSMISSION.
PURCHASED USED FROM A FORD DEALER USED 2015 FORD FOCUS. WAS TOLD THAT VEHICLE HAD TO LERN MY STYLE OF DRIVING. CAR SHUTTERS WHEN GOING ACCELERATING, TAKE TIME TO SHIFT BETWEEN 1,2,3, GEARS. ALSO SHUTTERS AT OTHER SPEEDS IN THE MIDDLE OF SHIFTING. CANNOT SHIFT QUICKLY FROM PARKED OR IN STOPPED POSITION LIKE AT A STOP LIGHT OR WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. CAR ALSO NOW REVS HIGH AND HAS TO BE COOLED DOWN AFTER DRIVING. I CANNOT TRUST VEHICLE TO BE DRIVEN BY OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS DUE TO TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE ACCELERATION PROBLEMS. HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM BUT DEALERSHIP CHARGES FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND STATES THAT IT IS THE WAY I DRIVE.
THE CAR JUMPS, SHAKES, AND JITTERS WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A START. OFTEN TIMES JERKS BADLY AND FEELS AS IF IT WILL NOT WANT TO GO!
THE TRANSMISSION IN MY 2015 FORD FOCUS HAS HAD NUMEROUS TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE UPDATES ( TCM ) WHICH THE DEALERSHIP KEPT SAYING WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM WHICH IT DID NOT IN MOST CASES MADE IT WORSE. THE DUAL CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED 4 TIME'S THE THROW OUT BEARING, AND THE SHIFT MOTORS FOR THE FIX TO LAST BETWEEN 10,000 TO 15,000 MILES AND THE VEHICLE CLUTCH BEING REPLACED AGAIN. AT THE LAST VISIT TO DEALERSHIP WAS ADVISED THE CLUTCH NEED REPLACED AGAIN BUT WAS ADVISED IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY NOW BECAUSE THE CLUTCH USED AT LAST REPLACEMENT WAS THE LATEST REVISED EDITION THAT HAD A 10,000 MILE WARRANTY THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP TO CONTACT FORD CUSTOMER CARE AND OPEN A CASE UP TO SEE IF FORD WILL WARRANTY THE REPAIR. WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND GIVE THEM THE CASE NUMBER ISSUED BY FORD. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED LATER THAT DAY AND ADVISED THAT MY CAR WAS READY FOR PICKUP. AFTER ARRIVING AT THE DEALERSHIP THE CLUTCH HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED WAS ADVISED AT THAT TIME IT DID NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE SHUTTER FILE NUMBER TO WARRANT REPLACEMENT BUT IT DID A WEEK EARLIER WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP. AT THE CURRENT TIME THE SLIP'S ON ACCELERATION. JERK'S AND SHAKE'S WITH SUDDEN ACCELERATION FROM A STOPPED POSITION. HILL ASSISTANCE WORKS SPORADIC TO KEEP THE CAR FROM ROLLING BACKWARDS WHEN PULLING OUT ON A HILL. THE CAR AT TIMES WILL NOT WANT TO UPSHIFT OR DOWNSHIFT WHEN IT NEED TO CAUSING YOU TO HAVE TO PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK THEN IT WILL SHIFT CORRECTLY FROM A FEW DAYS TO A COUPLE OF WEEKS. THEN THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. BUT I'M TOLD BY FORD AND THE DEALERSHIP THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR NOW AFTER I GOT A CASE NUMBER FROM FORD ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS ONLY 75,000 MILES AND HAS STILL NOT BEEN FIXED BY FORD.
WE STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE CAR BUCKING UPON ACCELERATION, NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY, WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN AND THEN START AGAIN IT HESITATES. WE ALMOST GOT STRANDED IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE CAR WAS ACTING LIKE IT WANTED TO STALL OUT. MY HUSBAND WAS ALSO DRIVING IT SLOW ONE DAY ON A REALLY BUMPY BACK ROAD AND LOST USE OF THE CAR. HE WAS NOT ABLE TO USE DRIVE OR REVERSE. HE HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON JUST TO BE ABLE TO GET HOME. ALTHOUGH OUR CAR IS OUT OF IT'S NORMAL WARRANTY, OUR MECHANIC TOLD US THAT FORD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY BECAUSE OF ALL THE ISSUES WITH THIS CAR, BUT UNFORTUNATELY WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT WAS OUR CLUTCH AND RIGHT NOW FORD IS NOT COVERING THE CLUTCHES EVEN THOUGH IT IS THEIR FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS THAT ARE CAUSING THE CLUTCHES TO GO. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND THEY SEEMED VERY DISINTERESTED IN THE PROBLEM. WHEN I ASKED THE SERVICE MAN WHY WE WEREN'T TOLD ABOUT THESE ISSUES UPON OUR PURCHASE HE SAID, WELL THEN THEY WOULDN'T MAKE MONEY. I AM VERY UPSET THAT FORD IS ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH THIS. I HAVE CHECKED TONS OF WEBSITES AND IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM TIME AFTER TIME.
AFTER DRIVING LIKE FOR 30 MINUTES IF I MAKE COMPLETE STOP AND WHEN I PRESS GAS PADDLE MY CAR STARTS SHAKING AND HARD TO GET PICK UP. IT SHAKES FOR COUPLE OF TIME AND THEN GOES NORMAL. AND WHILE DRIVING ALSO I CAN FEEL THE SAME.
THE CAR IS SLIPPING WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN CAUSING IT TO STALL AND CREATING WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE A DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IN THE 3 YEARS OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE THAT WE HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS EXACT ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED A 'PART' ON THE TRANSMISSION WHICH EVIDENTLY ISN'T THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM SEEING THAT IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. THIS CAR BELONGS TO MY DAUGHTER AND SHE IS ENROLLED IN COLLEGE WHICH 2 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME AND THE CAR ONLY HAS 57,205 MILES ON IT. THE EXTENT OF THIS ISSUE, THE FACT THAT IT COULD RESULT IN AN UNNECESSARY ACCIDENT OR LEAVE HER STRANDED ON THE SIDE OR MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY OR INTERSTATE LEAVES ME VERY CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY. I WOULD FEEL BETTER AS A PARENT KNOWING THAT MY CHILD WAS IN A SAFE VEHICLE, WHICH I THOUGHT SHE WAS WHEN WE PURCHASED THE CAR BUT NOW I'M QUESTIONING THIS DECISION.
TRANSMISSION WENT INTO TO NEUTRAL AT HIGHWAY SPEED. WAS FORCED TO DRIFT ONTO THE SHOULDER, SHUT OFF VEHICLE AND RESTART. HAPPENED TWICE TODAY.
CAR WILL HESITATE TO ACCELERATE LEAVING YOU TO PRESS THE GAS HARDER THAN NEEDED AT TIMES AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. SOMETIMES CAR WONT SHIFT INTO THE CORRECT GEAR. WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET MY CAR WILL REV UP TO 7,000 RPM AND STAY THERE FOR A FEW SECONDS. I HAVE MULTIPLE VIDEOS OF THIS HAPPENING AND IM TOLD ITS NOT BAD ENOUGH FOR FORD TO COVER IT UNDER MY WARRANTY BECAUSE IT DOESNT MEET THEIR REQUIREMENTS FOR A REPAIR. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE CLUTCH AS WELL AS TCM. A TOTAL OF 3 TRANSMISSION REPAIRS AND NOW IM PASSED MY WARRANTY SO THEY WONT COVER THE DIAGNOSIS. IVE HAD IT LOOKED AT MULTIPLE TIMES AND WAS TOLD ITS NOT BAD ENOUGH OR THEY CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AT ALL. AND MY VIDEOS ARENT PROOF ENOUGH EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN SEE MY CRUISE IS SET AND MY SPEED DOESNT CHANGE BUT MY RPMS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE, NOR IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO MAKE MY RPMS STAY CONSISTANT AT A RATE. VERY FRUSTRATING TO BUY A BRAND NEW CAR TO HAVE THESE ISSUES CONTINUE TO HAPPEN AND GET HORRIBLE HAS MILEAGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FOCUS. WHILE THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FOUR SEASONS FORD (601 DUNCAN HILL RD, HENDERSONVILLE, NC 28792, 828-693-4281) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE NO LONGER QUALIFIED FOR THE RECALL DUE TO A PRIOR REPAIR MADE TO THE TRANSMISSION WHERE A STRIP WAS WELDED ONTO THE BOTTOM OF THE TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THEY COULD REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION; HOWEVER, SHE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,685.
2015 FORD FOCUS HAS SEVERE SHUDDERING AND HARD SHIFTING AFTER STOPPING. WHEN FIRST MOVING FROM A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS AND SHIFTS HARD. FORD TOLD ME THAT THE ONLY THING I CAN DO IS TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA
I PICKED UP MY CAR LAST WEEK FROM THE DEALERSHIP AFTER HAVING THE CLUTCH REPLACED. WHEN I LEFT WORK ON MONDAY 7/15, MY CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING IN TRAFFIC. IT WAS OVER 5,000 RPMS...I HAD TO GO ACROSS LANES OF TRAFFIC TO PULL MY CAR OVER AND WAS HONKED AT SEVERAL TIMES. I WAS ALSO REAR ENDED IN DEC 13, 2016 WHILE ACCELERATING BUT MY CAR SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL.
NUMEROUS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. STALLING WHEN PRESSING ON ACCELERATOR AND LURCHING FORWARD WHEN NOT PRESSING ON ACCELERATOR OFTEN ARE MAIN ISSUES. TRANSMISSION CLUTCH AND AND TCM REPLACED PREVIOUSLY UNDER WARRANTY WITHOUT SUCCESSFUL REPAIR. MOST RECENTLY MY VEHICLE AT 83,000 MILES WAS DIAGNOSED AS NEEDING A NEW CLUTCH AGAIN AND FORD REFUSED TO COVER REPAIR BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT AFTER THEIR WARRANTY CUTOFF DATE AND I WAS CHARGED ALMOST $2,700 BY FORD DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE CLUTCH (DOCUMENTATION ATTACHED). NOT EVEN 1 WEEK AFTER RECEIVING VEHICLE BACK FROM FORD AFTER REPAIRS VEHICLE BEGAN EXHIBITING SAME ISSUES WHICH USUALLY PROGRESS AS TIME GOES ON. I FELT UNSAFE IN THE VEHICLE AFTER SO MANY REPAIRS AND HAVING TO PAY FOR THE MOST RECENT TRANSMISSION SO PURCHASED A NEW VEHICLE INSTEAD. I CAN ALSO PROVIDED DOCUMENTATION IF NEEDED FROM ALL THE PREVIOUS REPAIRS BY FORD.
CAR JERKS AND SHUTTERS PULLING OUT OR AT A RED LIGHT. IN THE MOUNTAINS IT WOULDN'T EVEN PULL UP A BIG HILL TO THE CABIN. I'D HAVE TO GET A HEAD START AND COULDN'T JUST DRIVE NORMAL, IT WOULD JUST JERK! THIS IS DISTURBING SINCE I WAS ON THE SIDE OF A GIANT HILL! STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. WORKS ON YOUR NERVES! FORD SHOULD BUY BACK THIS CAR! I'VE BEEN COMPLAINING SINCE THE FIRST YEAR I GOT THE CAR. EVEN TO THE TENNESSEE LEMON LAW!! THIS HAS SOURED ME ON A FORD VEHICLE! IT'S JUNK!
TAKATA RECALL, MY CAR JUST STARTS TO LOSE BREAK FLUID REAL QUICK AND NOW THE ENGINE HAS BEEN OVER HEATING FOR THE PAST COUPLE DAYS AND IT HAS STARTED OFF OF KNOW WHERE. I'VE BEEN KEEPING UP WITH THE MAINTENANCE AND IT HAS BEEN MESSING UP LATELY. IT'S A PRACTALLY BRAND NEW CAR WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE I'VE HAD IT FOR 7 MONTHS AND IT'S BEEN GIVING ME A LOT OF PROBLEMS.
I PURCHASED MY CAR NEW FROM RYAN FORD IN SEALY TX AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. I TOOK MY CAR BACK AND THEY ADJUSTED MY CLUTCH. THAT SAME DAY, THE CAR MADE A LOUD NOISE AND FELT LIKE THE BOTTOM WAS COMING OUT AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE TOLL. I TOOK MY CAR BACK AGAIN AND THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR A WEEK. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. FAST FORWARD, I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY ASKED ME TO CALL FORD RELATIONS. I TOLD FORD RELATIONS THAT IT WAS JERKING AND HESITATING. SO I TOOK MY CAR TO AUTONATION FORD HERE IN KATY, TX. THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE CLUTCH. I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO AUTONATION FORD AND EXPLAINED TO THE TRANSMISSION GENTLEMAN THAT MY DAD AND MY BOYFRIEND HAD DRIVEN MY CAR AND SAID THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. THE SERVICE MAN DROVE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, NOTTINGHAM, AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. SO I THEN RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND I CALLED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND THE LADY WHO SCHEDULES APPOINTMENTS TOLD ME THAT MY CAR WILL ALWAYS HAVE "SHUTTERING" PROBLEMS NOT MATTER HOW MANY ADJUSTMENTS OR HOW MANY TIMES THEY CHANGE MY CLUTCH. SHE SAID FORD HAS EXTENDED THEIR WARRANTY TO I BELIEVE 60K MILES. MY FIRST BRAND NEW CAR WAS A FORD EXPLORER SPORT WHICH I LOVED. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. I HAVE PURCHASED 2 FORD EXPLORERS, A F150, A FOCUS (BUT I DID NOT HAVE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM), AND I LEASED A FLEX. MY CAR HAS UNDER 40K MILES AND I AM VERY FRUSTRATED THAT THE CAR WILL ALWAYS HAVE A PROBLEM. I FINANCED $25K AND I AM READY TO DROP OFF MY CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE KEYS! I DO NOT WANT TO PUT ANYMORE MONEY INTO THIS CAR!!!!! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD AGAIN. I FILED A CLAIM WITH FORD BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE I WAITED TOO LONG. NOBODY EVER TOLD ME THAT WHAT WAS REALLY GOING ON WITH THE CLUTCH. THEY MADE ME FEEL TO BE A STUPID LADY. I WILL SEND FURTHER DOCUMENTATION.
MY 2015 FORD FOCUS HAS HAD IT'S CLUTCH COMPLETELY REPLACED 2 TIMES SO FAR. OVER THE YEARS THE CAR HAS FREQUENTLY JERKED FORWARD WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A BRAKING POSITION, OFTEN TIMES MISSES GEARS WHEN ACCELERATING AND IS ALREADY IN MOTION, AND THE ENTIRE CAR NOTICEABLY SHUDDERS WHILE WAITING AT STOP LIGHTS. THE DEALER TOLD ME FOR YEARS THAT THESE WERE ALL NORMAL CAR OCCURRENCES AND I NEEDED TO ACCELERATE HARDER TO BREAK IN THE CAR. EVENTUALLY, ONE REP RELENTED AND EXPLAINED IT WAS A FAULTY DESIGN WITH NO SOLUTION AND THAT I'D NEED TO COME BACK IN AND HAVE THE CLUTCH REPLACED EVERY 10K MILES. UNFORTUNATELY, IT'S NOW THAT TIME AGAIN AS ALL OF THE SIGNS HAVE MANIFESTED ONCE AGAIN. SADLY, I HAVEN'T EVEN HIT 30K MILES AND A FOURTH CLUTCH IS ALREADY NEEDED.
AT 56,000 MILES, THE VEHICLE'S POWER STEERING FAILED. THIS RESULTED IN HEAVY AND INACCURATE STEERING INPUTS WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. FORD IS QUOTING A REPAIR BILL IN EXCESS OF $2,400. I DO BELIEVE THAT THE PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THE RECALL IN 2018 AFFECTING 1/2 MILLION FORDS AND THE RECALL FROM 2014 AFFECTING OVER 1 MILLION FORDS FOR SIMILAR STEERING RELATED ISSUES AND PREMATURE FAILURE. I HAVE NEVER HAD STEERING FAIL AND HAVE OWNED MANY VEHICLES OVER 200K MILES INCLUDING MY 1989 F250. THE TECHNICIAN SAID UPON INSPECTION THAT THE STEERING GEAR WAS FULL OF WATER AND DIRT CAUSING CORROSION. I'M A NORMAL COMMUTER ON EVERYDAY ROADS. HE SPECIFICALLY SAID IT'S NOT ANYTHING THAT I COULD HAVE DONE THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. HE SAID THE BOOTS WERE COMPLETELY IN TACT AND HE COULDN'T COMMENT ON HOW THE CONTAMINANTS ENTERED THE STEERING GEAR. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE IT IS FAULTY DESIGN. IF IT WERE ANYTHING OTHER THAN STEERING OR BRAKES, I PROBABLY WOULD NOT BE VOICING MY CONCERNS IN THIS FORUM BECAUSE THIS REPRESENTS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. FORD MUST CAST A WIDER NET WITH REGARD TO EXISTING RECALLS AND THE 2015 FOCUS SHOULD ALSO BE INCLUDED. AS OF THIS WRITING THERE ARE 47 OTHER REPORTS TO NHTSA FOR THIS CAR AND PROBLEM.
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE CAR IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, ON THE HIGHWAY, AND THE CAR SUDDENLY MADE 3 CLUNKS AND THEN THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED LOSING POWER, ALMOST DIED OUT.HE COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO ACCELERATE, EVEN THOUGH HE WAS STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL. HE ALMOST GOT HIT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT THE CAR HAS DONE THIS. THE FIRST TIME, IT STALLED OUT COMPLETELY AND LEFT HIM STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY. FORD IS AWARE THAT THERE IS A STALL RISK, BUT THEY CAN NOT REPAIR THE CAR. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD HEADQUARTERS REGARDING THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM. THE 2015 FORD FOCUS HAS A BAD TRANSMISSION AND THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE OF THE STALL RISK. THE DEALERSHIP THAT HAS HAD MY 2015 FORD FOCUS WILL NOT TRY TO REPEAT THE BEHAVIOR THAT CAUSED THE CAR TO COMPLETELY LOSE ACCELERATION. THEY KEEP TRYING TO GIVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO ME AND IT IS NOT FIXED!! FORD MOTORS NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR KNOWINGLY SELLING THE 2012-2016 FORD FOCUS WHEN THEY KNEW THAT ALL OF THESE CARS HAD BAD TRANSMISSIONS. WE DO NOT WANT THE CAR BACK. THESE VEHICLES SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE DRIVEN BECAUSE OF THE STALL RISK.
SHUDDER AFTER ACCELERATION
CAR HAS DELAYED QUICK ACCELERATION AND JERKING WHEN GOING FROM A STOP. WILL JERK IN ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING AS WELL. FIRST, FROM A FULL STOPPED OR STATIONARY POSITION THEN ACCELERATING OR IN MOTION THE CAR STARTED TO PUTTING OR SLIPPING WITH THIS AUTO TRANSMISSION GEAR OR WAS HAVING A ISSUE SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR WHILE DRIVING OR HESITATING BADLY, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I GOT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CHECKED BY AUTO ZONE AND A PERSONAL MECHANIC AND THE HAND HELD DEVICE SHOWED EACH TIME "NO DATA FOUND" HMMM, SECOND, WHILE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND PLACING THE CAR IN PARK, I THEN HAD TO PLACE THE CAR IN REVERSE AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE IN THE REVERSE POSITION! BUT AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF IN THE PARK POSITION AND LETTING IT SET FOR 5-10 MINS, THE CAR STARTED AND I PLACED IT IN THE REVERSE POSITION AND IT WORKED HMMM. AND THESE TWO ISSUES HAS HAPPENED TO MANY TIMES (6) FOR ME TO FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WHILE MERGING INTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC AND DRIVING IN CITY STOP AND GO TRAFFIC NOW OR AT THIS TIME AND I'AM TAKING IT TO A FORD DEALER TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM TODAY. CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE ON FREEWAY AND CAUSED A JAM WHILE I NURSED IT OVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC.
I DROVE TO THE MARKET TO GET SOME FOOD AND WHEN I CAME BACK THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN ON WE TRIED JUMP STARTING AND IT SEEMED LIKE IT WANTED TO START BUT IT DIDN'T.
I WAS DRIVING 70 MILES AN HOUR ON THE EXPRESSWAY. THE CAR WITHOUT WARNING STOPPED ACCELERATING AND REDUCED TO 40 MPH IN SECONDS AS IF SOMEONE SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. ADDITIONALLY, THIS SAME CAR HAS THE AIR CONDITIONING THAT WENT OUT. I AM TOLD ITS THE AIR COMPRESSOR WHICH IS EXPENSIVE. THE REAR CAMERA IS BROKEN AS WELL FOR NO OBVIOUS REASON. THAT WENT OUT IN THE FIRST YEAR. I TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD THE CAUSE WAS UNKNOWN. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE.

WE HAVE HAD A REPEATED CODE P090C THAT HAS ULTIMATELY LED US TO THE CLUTCH ACTUATORS WHICH ARE CONTROLLED BY THE TCM. THIS HAS CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO JUMP INTO OTHER GEARS WHILE DRIVING, PREVENTING THE MOVEMENT OF THE CAR ONCE PARKED/THEN ENGAGED INTO REVERSE STOPS WORKING. WITHIN THE 24 HOUR PERIOD, THE CODES DISAPPEAR THEN THE MECHANICS CANNOT DIAGNOSE OR CONFIRM THE ISSUE??? I PURCHASED MY OWN CODE TESTER AND FIGURED THIS OUT ON MY OWN. NOW, FORD STILL DOES NOT HAVE THIS AS A RECALL EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL. LESS THAN 60 DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC PLACE THE CAR ON THE COMPUTER AND IT CAME BACK THE PURGE VALVE, FUEL TANK AND THE FUEL PUMP- THE RECALLED ITEM(S). I RETURNED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WITH THE INFORMATION AND THE RECALL LETTER AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM, SAID THEY ALREADY FIXED IT, WHICH WAS NOT TRUE. THEY UPDATED THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE, NEVER REPLACED ANY PARTS. I RETURNED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WITH THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH I PAID FOR BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE FORD MECHANIC TOLD ME I HAD TO PAY FOR THE SAME DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND IT WOULD COST $150 AND THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL AND THAT FORD WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT. FURTHERMORE, I HAVE CONTACTED THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND HAVE SPOKEN WITH A KAMISHA AND THE CASE NUMBER IS #21947630- 1888 631-3788 X77721 AND HAVE YET TO BE GIVEN ANY REASONABLE SOLUTION TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM.*JB

THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A CLUTCH SHUDDER IN THE TRANSMISSION AND NEEDED FIXED. THEY SAID IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MY TRANSMISSION. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING INTO NEURAL. I PURCHASED MY CAR ONE YEAR PRIOR AND THE SALESMAN TOLD ME THEN THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS RELIABLE AND EFFECTIVE. HE IT WAS A GREAT TRANSMISSION THAT NEVER NEEDED SERVICING DURING THE LIFE OF MY CAR. HE KNOWINGLY LIED TO ME.

WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THERE IS TRANSMISSION SHUDDER OCCASIONALLY. IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME, BUT A LOT OF THE TIME. THIS IS THE SAME THING OTHER PEOPLE ARE FIGHTING WITH JUST A FEW WEEKS PRIOR BUILD DATE. THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU ARE TAKING OFF, SOMETIMES WHEN IT SHIFTS TO 2ND GEAR. MOST EVERY TIME IT DOES IT YOU CAN BET YOU ARE PULLING INTO HEAVY TRAFFIC AND ITS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED THIS I HAD JUST DRIVEN ABOUT 400 MILES. SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN NOTICED MORE.

I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER CARE AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WILL DO TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM AS FORD HAS NOT RECOGNIZED THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.I WAS SHUNNED AND GENERALLY TREATED VERY POORLY BY EVERY F ORD DEALERSHIP I SPOKE WITH AS THEY STATED THEY CANNOT RECOVER THE REPAIR COSTS FROM FORD.

IT WILL DO THIS OVER AND OVER UNLESS I STOP DRIVING AND LET THE CAR 'REST' FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES. THIS STARTED HAPPENING A WEEK AFTER I HAD SOME RECALL WORK DONE ON THE CSV.

AS I WAS GETTING MY FIRST GEAR READY TO GO MY CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED FORWARD AND I T-BONED THE PERSON TURNING. I HAD MY CHILDREN WITH ME AND AFTER THIS ACCIDENT I FEEL VERY UNSAFE IN MY CAR, I LOST TRUST IN FORD KEEPING ME AND MY FAMILY SAFE. I KNOW THERE HAS BEEN RECALLS BUT WHEN I TAKE IT IN THEY SAY IT JUST A SOFTWARE UPDATE OR SOMETHING ABOUT A FUEL TANK. I HAVE SEEN A RECALL IN REGARDS TO MY TRANSMISSION AND I HAVE MENTIONED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND AND SAY THAT THEY DON'T SHOW THAT IN THEIR SYSTEMS SO THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THAT. AGAIN I REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP HOWEVER THIS TIME THEY BLAMED IT ON THE PURGE VALVE IN THE GAS TANK WHICH THEY REPLACED. THIS DID NOT FIX THE RUMBLE ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT TRY TO VERIFY THE RUMBLE. THEY SIMPLY DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT BY STATING THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. FEW MONTHS LATER WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY, THE RUMBLE OCCURRED AGAIN BUT WORSE THAN BEFORE. IMMEDIATELY MY VEHICLE LOST POWER AS IF IT'S STUCK AT FIRST GEAR. THE VEHICLE'S SPEED DROPPED TREMENDOUSLY WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SINCE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND EVERYONE WAS GOING 60+ MPH. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY WITHOUT GETTING HIT. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT RAN CONTINUE TO RUMBLE BUT NOT AS VIOLENTLY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I QUICKLY BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, THE WARRANTY COMPANY REFUSE TO COVER THE TRANSMISSION REPAIR BECAUSE THE DUAL CLUTCH SYSTEM IS TECHNICALLY A MANUAL CLUTCH. FOR THAT REASON THEY DO NOT COVER IT. AS A CONSUMER, WE HAVE NO IDEA EXACTLY WHAT TYPE OF PARTS THE VEHICLE CONTAINS. THE VEHICLE WAS ADVERTISED AS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WHICH IN COMMON SENSE, IT DOES NOT CONTAIN A MANUAL CLUTCH. THE DEALERSHIP WAS REQUESTING $2000+ FEE TO REPLACE THIS CLUTCH. AT THE SAME TIME OF THIS INSPECTION, THE PURGE VALVE IN THE GAS TANK WAS ALSO DEFECTED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

I HAD TO CONTROL THE CAR RIGHT AWAY AS IT STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FRANKLIN FORD (LOCATED AT 175 EAST CENTRAL STREET, FRANKLIN, MA 02038) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,276.
ENGINE WAS STALLING WHEN I CAME TO STOPS, CHECK ENGLINE LIGHT CAME ON. CODE WAS FOR EVAP SYSTEM. IT WAS FOUND THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE WAS FAULTY, CAUSING THE ENGINE STALLING. KEEPING THE GAS TANK FILLED ABOVE HALF TANK ALLEVIATES THE PROBLEM. WE REPLACED THE PURGE VALVE BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON AS WE CANNOT REPROGRAM THE PCM AND I CANT AFFORD TO LET MY CAR SIT AT FORD FOR THREE DAYS BEFORE THEY EVEN LOOK AT IT AND THEN THE EXORBITANT COST TO REPAIR.
