I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED BY FORD PER NHTSA 16V-643 BECAUSE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN 2016 AND PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE ACCORDING TO MY LOCAL DEALER! DO YOU KNOW WHEN FORD WILL HAVE PARTS TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY RECALL?
ISSUES WITH MY TRANSMISSION SHUDDERING WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP IN JUNE OF 2017. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR DIAGNOSIS AND WAS INFORMED THAT CLUTCH SHUDDER WAS OVER THE LIMIT. CLUTCH ASSEMBLY ON THE VEHICLE WAS REPLACED. THIS WAS AT 49131 MILES. IN JUNE OF 2018 SAME ISSUE WITH SHUDDERING TRANSMISSION RETURNED. VEHICLE WAS AGAIN TAKEN TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT. INFORMED THAT THE CLUTCH WAS SHUDDERING ST 443 AND THE MAX IS 250. WAS AGAIN TOLD THAT THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS WAS AT 71351
VEHICLE HAS INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEMS. INSIDE DASH LIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF. CANNOT HAVE INSIDE DOME LIGHT ON (THE LIGHT THAT COMES ON WHEN DOORS OPEN) OR IT DRAINS THE BATTERY. SETTINGS FOR RADIO/HEATER/CLOCK/ETC. CHANGE ON THEIR OWN. NOTHING EVER STAYS SET. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP A COUPLE TIMES NOW AND THEY CAN NEVER FIND ANYTHING. THEY KEPT IT FOR 3 DAYS THE LAST TIME. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I BOUGHT IT. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY WHEN I HAVE THE STARTING PROBLEM. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL START IN A FEW MINUTES, SOMETIMES LONGER. THE OTHER PROBLEMS WITH INSIDE LIGHTS AND DASHBOARD HAPPEN WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION. THIS HAPPENS ON VARIOUS DAYS AND TIMES.
WHEN I TURN ON THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, THE WIPER BLADES SOMETIME STOP, WITH THE BLADES IN A VERTICAL POSITION OR ANOTHER ANGLE ON THE WINDSHIELD. THEY MAY REMAIN IN THAT POSITION FOR A MINUTE OR MORE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AND ON HIGHWAYS. TO GET THE WIPERS WORKING AGAIN, I USUALLY HAVE TO TURN THE WIPER CONTROL OFF AND THEN BACK ON. DURING THIS TIME, RAIN IS ACCUMULATING ON THE WINDSHIELD, REDUCING VISIBILITY. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. I REPORTED THE WIPER PROBLEM TO THE DEALER, BOB THOMAS FORD, 2215 DIXWELL AVENUE, HAMDEN, CONNECTICUT 06514, ON AUGUST 15, 2018, WHEN THE CAR HAD 11,122 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE DEALER DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. RECEIPT FROM THE DEALERSHIP INSPECTION STATED: "REFER TO SSM 45753." REPAIR TECHNICIAN SAID HE COULD DO NOTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM. SINCE THAT TIME, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAVE CONTINUED TO STOP, UNPREDICTABLY, IN A VERTICAL OR OTHER POSITION ON THE WINDSHIELD.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that there was hesitation or lagging while attempting to accelerate at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch had failed. The clutch was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was returned to the dealer but was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and it was confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 92,000.
I THINK I HAVE A FAULTY FUEL MODULATOR RELATED TO THE RECALL OF THE BOSCH FUEL PUMP SYSTEMS THAT'S AFFECTED THE 2014 FORD FOCUS AND THE 2015 VW'S. MY CAR WON'T START TURN OVER IMMEDIATELY AFTER FULL REFILL OF GAS TANK. I'VE NOTICED THAT GAS ACTUALLY SPILLS OUT UNDER THE CAR AFTER FILLING UP ALL THE WAY. OCASSIONALLY MY CAR ENGINE WILL STOP ENTIRELY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD! IT'S HAPPENED TWICE NOW WHEN SHIFTING INTO 1ST AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A LIGHT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED IT'S THE FUEL MODULATOR AND THAT IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE SAME ISSUE AS THE OTHER RECALLED UNITS. THANK YOU!
THE DRIVER'S SIDE WIPER IS FREEZING AND DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY NO MATTER WHAT OPERATION IT IS IN: LOW, MEDIUM OR HIGH. I HAVE HAD THE WIPER BLADES, WIPER ARM, AND WIPER MOTOR REPLACED AND NONE OF IT HAS FIXED THE PROBLEM. IT HAS LEFT ME IN SEVERAL DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. I HAVE ALMOST WRECKED NUMEROUS TIMES. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THREE MONTHS. NOBODY SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM, INCLUDING THE FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT.

WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, IT RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DCH FORD OF EATONTOWN (67 NJ-36, EATONTOWN, NJ 07725, 732-982-4222) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
THE CAR HAS A KNOWN RECALL ABOUT THE FUEL SYSTEM THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY JUST SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING FORD SAID YOU MUST KEEP THE CAR ON A HALF TANK OF GAS AT ALL TIMES.THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS BUT MY CAR IS GETTING SO BAD VERY VERY BAD
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FOR APPROXIMATELY A MILE AND A HALF BEFORE IT STALLED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AT LEAST FIFTEEN TIMES DURING THE PAST MONTH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TWICE FOR THE STALLING FAILURE AND THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,643.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the vehicle made an abnormal grinding sound and hesitated to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the transmission clutch was replaced several times under an extended warranty; however, the failure persisted. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a fee would be charged for a diagnostic test and repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
GAS GADGET (AND MILES) WILL READ 1/2 TANK (200 OR SO MILE) AND WITH NO WARNINGS STALL (TURN OFF) EVEN ONCE PUTTING GAS IN VEHICLE HARD TO GET IT STARTED!ALSO AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON (MOST THE TIME) ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR HAS TO BE "SLAMMED" OR CLOSED HARD IN ORDER TO LATCH. I BOUGHT THIS CAR AS FIRST OWNER IN 2015! VERY DISAPPOINTED! I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE TURN OFF ON ME AT LEAST 5 TIMES EVEN WITH MY DISABLE SON WITH ME, I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT AND WE COULD'VE BEEN HURT OR WORSE!

THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER; HOWEVER, THE SERVICE STEERING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER (POMPANO FORD LINCOLN, 2741 N FEDERAL HWY, POMPANO BEACH, FL 33064, (888) 718-9266) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. I HAVEN'T HAD THE CAR A MONTH. STARTED NOTICING THE PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY. WHEN I TAKE OFF THE CAR SHUTTERS AND ACTS LIKE ITS MISSING GEARS. IT DOES IT FROM A COMPLETE STOP BUT ALSO FROM A SLOW SPEED. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S IN THE CITY OR ON THE HIGHWAY.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.

WHEN THE CONTACT RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE JERKING STOPPED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHAWNEE MISSION FORD (11501 SHAWNEE MISSION PKWY, SHAWNEE, KS 66203 (913) 631-0000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED AND THE VEHICLE QUICKLY LOST POWER. THE CAR ACTED LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL SINCE THE ENGINE REVVED UP TO HIGH RPM BUT THE GEAR SELECTOR WAS STILL SHOWING IN D. AFTER PULLING OFF TO SHOULDER AND STOPPING AND SHIFTING TO PARK, I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE AND OPERATE THE VEHICLE. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE AND IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO THE FORD DEALER WHO HAS ANALYZED THE OBD AND FOUND NO CODES TO INDICATE A PROBLEM. THE DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSIONS AND CLUTCHES AND TCMS ON THESE CARS. THE TCM WAS REPLACED ALREADY UNDER A RECALL YET I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE CAR WILL STOP MOVING NEXT. FORD'S REGIONAL MANAGER REFUSES TO ADMIT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND KEEPS REFERRING ME BACK TO THE DEALER.

IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE WAS NOT FUNCTIONING NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE DROVE ROUGHLY AND THERE WAS A REDUCTION IN POWER AND SPEED, WHICH COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL. NORTH COUNTY FORD (450 W VISTA WAY, VISTA, CA 92083, 1-(888) 833-0634) STATED THAT CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18S32 (STUCK CANISTER PURGE VALVE MAY CAUSE A STALL) COULD REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER AWAITING REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
CAR WAS STATIONARY LOST POWER AND COULD NOT START ENGINE. INSPECTED UNDER HOOD AND THERE WAS WHITE POWDER EVERY WHERE AROUND ENGINE. REMOVED BATTERY COVER AND POSITIVE TERMINAL WAS EXTREMELY CORRODED. DEALER REPLACED BATTERY
CAR WAS STATIONARY. NO POWER AND COULD NOT START THE ENGINE. INSPECTED UNDER THE HOOD AND THERE WAS WHILE POWDER SPOTS EVERY WHERE AROUND THE ENGINE. REMOVED THE BATTERY COVER AND BATTERY APPEARED TO HAVE EXPLODED. POSITIVE TERMINAL WAS COMPLETELY CORRODED. DEALER CLEANED AREA AND REPLACED A NEW BATTERY. NOW STARTS AND RUNS.
THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED BUT WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE IT HESITATED AND STARTED TO SHUDDER. PROBLEM WAS THE CLUTCH IN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THIS HAS BEEN REPLACED 5 TIMES AND FORD STILL HAS NO FIX FOR THIS DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. THIS WAS ON A SIDE STREET ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT ONTO A BUSY NUMBERED ROADWAY. THIS ALMOST RESULTED IN A COLLISION.
I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, ACCELERATED TO CROSS THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR ROLLED FORWARD INTO TRAFFIC THEN THE CAR ACTED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL AND THE RPMS WENT WAY UP BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T GO FORWARD. LUCKILY REVERSE WORKED OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT BY A CAR BEING AS I WAS STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF US1 SOUTH. I HAD TO REVERSE THE CAR OUT OF THE ROAD AND ONTO THE SHOULDER UNTIL A TOW TRUCK CAME. FORD HAS REPLACED THE CLUTCH THREE TIMES CLAIMING THIS WAS THE ISSUE BUT MY CAR REMAINS UNSAFE. THEY ALSO HAD MY BABY BUY A NEW BATTERY KNOWING THAT THE ISSUE WAS WITH THE TRANSMISSION.
THE NHTSA IS NON COMPLIANT WITH STANDARDS THAT THEY HAVE SET. FROM 2012-2015 FORD FOCUSES HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED/SOLD/LEASED THAT ARE UNSAFE FOR PUBLIC USE. THE SAFETY DEFECT IS WITH THE POWER TRAIN OF THE VEHICLE; THE TRANSMISSION FAILS WHILE BEING OPERATED AND IAN LIABLE TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MYSELF WHILE DRIVING AND THE NHTSA HAS IGNORED THE ISSUE. THIS SAFETY DEFECT MEETS THE STANDARDS OF WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR A VEHICLE TO BE INVESTIGATED WITH INTENT TO RECALL. THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION IS NOT BEING HELD TO HER RESPONSIBILITY TO INVESTIGATE SAFETY DEFECTS THAT HAVE POTENTIAL OF DEATH/INJURY. I REQUEST AN INVESTIGATION INTO MY VEHICLE SPECIFICALLY WHICH IS A 2015 FORD FOCUS. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THE MANUFACTURER ASKS AS FAR AS REGULAR MAINTENANCE, NEW TIRES WHEN NECESSARY, REGULAR SERVICING, REPLACING ALL PARTS AND EQUIPMENT ADVISED MY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF MY VEHICLES MANUFACTURER (FORD MOTOR COMPANY). THE VEHICLE HASN'T NEARLY KILLED ME 3 TIMES AND IS UNSAFE. WHEN WILL THE NHTSA HONOR THEIR LEGAL REQUIREMENTS TO TAKE ACTION ON KNOWN SAFETY ISSUES?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
PURCHASED MY CAR NEW 2015, WITHIN MONTHS CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE AND JERK, CAUSING CAR TO SLOW DOWN AND JERK FORWARD. WENT TO CAR DEALERSHIP AND TOLD IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM, AND THEY HAD A PERMANENT FIX FOR IT. TCM CLUTCH PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN BACK 2 MORE TIMES WITH SAME PROBLEM, THIS LAST TIME, DEALERSHIP STATES THEY WILL NO LONGER FIX THE PROBLEM UNDER WARRANTY, BUT I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS. I STILL OWE ON THE CAR, AND NO OTHER AUTO DEALERSHIP WOULD GIVE ME ANYTHING FOR IT SINCE THE AUTO HAS THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. I AM STUCK WITH THE CAR.
TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS AND JERKS FEELS LIKE THE CAR WILL LOSE POWER OR BREAK DOWN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHIFT GEARS INDEPENDENTLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CAPITAL FORD OF CHARLOTTE (5411 N TRYON ST, CHARLOTTE, NC 28213). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REFUEL THE VEHICLE AT A SERVICE STATION, I NOTICED GAS LEAKING ONTO THE PAVEMENT COMING FROM UNDERNIEGH THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL WELL. AS I FURTHER INVESTIGATED THE PROBLEM I COULD SEE GAS DRAINING DOWN FROM THE FUEL PIPE THAT LEADS INTO THE GAS TANK. I DIDN'T WANT TO TRY AND START THE VEHICLE IN FEAR THAT THE GAS MIGHT REACH THE HOT EXHAUST SYSTEM AND CATCH ON FIRE. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE GAS FUELER PIPE HAD INDEED BROKE AND REPAIRED IT UNDER WARRANTY.
OCTOBER 15 2015 I BOUGHT A FORD FOCUS 2015 S 4DR FROM THE DEALERSHIP. RIGHT AWAY HAD ISSUES WITH IT STALLING AND SHORTING OUT THE COMPUTER AND KEEPING A CHARGE. HOWEVER ON JANUARY 4TH 2018, I WAS SIDESWIPED GOING 45 MPH AND COLLIDED INTO A TREE AND A FEW OTHER VEHICHLES ALSO. I SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURIES DUE TO NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYING. Transmission slips jerks shakes when trying to take off. It will not pick up speed until it's in third gear,. This car is not a manual it's an automatic transmission. It was taken to a Ford dealer and we were charged money and told that it was fixed. This Is a 78-year-old womans car. She was unaware that the vehicle had an issue. The car only has 62,000 miles on it and is a 2015. And it also has a warning light that comes on when you drive with the AC on or on hot days or if you drive longer than a few miles a warning light comes on and tells you to pull over and that the car is overheating. Both of these items I'm listing are very dangerous especially when getting on an interstate or pulling out in traffic. I don't know if it's an electrical issue with the overheating light coming on but the radio has also stopped working. The transmission definitely has a safety issue. I'm afraid of driving very far because of these two issues.

EVERYTIME MY CAR IS GOING THROUGH FIRST GEAR THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS. THIS GETS MUCH WORSE WHEN WHEN MY CAR IS CLOSE TO BEING DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE. IVE SERVICED THE CAR REGULARLY AND SOME MONTHS HAD TO GET MULTIPLE OIL CHANGES TO TRY AND COMBAT THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERING.
