Engine seized up. Going 70MPH on the highway and suddenly I'm losing speed. I get pulled over to the side of the road and shut the car off. So I start the car and notice my oil light is on. I shut it back off and check the oil. Levels are good. Turn the car back on and got back up to 35 MPH and it just wouldn't go anymore. Engine wouldn't turn back over. Mechanic confirmed engine was seized up and wasn't because of lack of oil. He told me others have had complaints on this issue as well. Only 60k miles on the car and had to get the engine replaced.
When filling the vehicle with gas the vehicle shakes uncontrollably and shuts off for about 5 minutes due to the cylenoid in the fuel tank. This year make and model has an open recall for this however my vin is not listed under the recall .

I have a 2016 Ford Focus which I can no longer drive. Not safe. At times car doesn't move. Gears don't engage. Ford doesn't think this is a safety issue. There are warning lights on my dash. Ford is suppose to fix the issue, but can't make the parts. CSP 14m02 and 19n08 are the Customer Satisfaction Program . This will be the second time that my car is getting fixed. The risk is that I might get hit because the car will not move. So I can no longer drive the car. The car has been inspected by a Ford dealer. All they say is that I have to wait until the parts come in. Why is the same parts being used. They don't seem to fix the problem. There needs to be a better answer from Ford on how they are going to fix this issue. All Ford tells me is that I just have to wait and they are no giving me any other options. I really believe they need to rethink this repair, because it isn't fixing the problem. You can look at all the Focus that are on the lot and see that they have been fixed multiple times and most likely they will have to be fixed again. I just need answers and something done by Ford.

The vehicle was purchased used on June 4, 2022 from Next car imports (984) 989 5000. June 10th 2022 approximately 8 pm, while stopped at a light, the car shut off. I turned the key. The car crank back up. This occurred after putting gas into the car. Being the dealership added a warranty, I called the customer service and dealership. I called the dealership and spoke with [XXX] of (next car import, Clayton, nc) agreed to take the car and have their mechanic look at. Calling the dealership was the instruction from [XXX], of First Automotive (warranty) . Next Car Import kept the car from June 13th thru June 15th. Stated they drove the car tested the car and no issue. The evening of June 15th several hours after retrieving the car, I drove 1 mile from my home to get gas and the car stopped in the middle of the road, a very busy road. Someone push the car using another car the rest of the way to the gas station. I filled the car up and it still wouldn't start, it took at least 10 minutes before cranking up. The car has shut off several more times since then. Including the scariest of all being on a busy interstate June 19, 2022 while heading home from work. Barely 2 weeks owning this car, the dealership isn't willing to take it back. I'm experiencing anxiety every time I have to get in my car. I need options INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I got my 2016 Ford Focus in the summer of 2019 and from the start i had issues. The first issue was my car overheating the coolant tank kept getting a hole burned in it and the coolant would leak leaving my car to overheat I've had the tank replaced twice. The second issue was my car just kept turning off still don't know what that was about. Third issue was the vehicle not telling me the correct amount of gas i had it would say i would have a good amount of gas, but it really had little to no gas. The last issue was the Transmisson the car was stalling and gave me kick back that's the only way i can describe it I took it to my mechanic because there was no recall when i looked up my VIN, I paid almost $4000 for the transmission to be fixed to just bring it back to the mechanic because the transmission started giving me problems again. My mechanic told me that Hes having problems figuring out the programming. Today 12/08/2022 I read an article talking about how thousands of Ford Focus owners are having the same issue. I was never contacted by Ford. I called my local ford dealership, and they told me the part that my vehicle needs are on back order and they can't even look at my car until February.

Many cars of this make, model and year have had a recall for the automatic clutch. I’ve taken it into a Ford dealer when the vehicle had around 55,000 miles and they replaced the clutch under warranty. Ford said that they extended the warranty to 7 years, 100,000 miles. My automatic clutch started doing the same thing again after about 20,000 miles after the first repair. I took it to the Ford dealer last week and they confirmed the automatic clutch was bad again but my VIN didn’t show up as being covered under the extended warranty. Their comment was “it depends on what plant the car was manufactured at.” My comment was “Ford already replaced this clutch once so it has nothing to do with where my car was manufactured at.” They would not fix it under warranty so I paid my $150 diagnostic fee and left the dealership very upset. Doesn’t make sense to me and I think Ford is purposely not covering all vehicles with this clutch problem. The vehicle is still drive-able but the faulty clutch makes the whole car shudder often, so much so that if the shudder doesn’t break the clutch it’s going to break something else.

I was driving the car about 25 mph and it shudders, and the acceleration is very bad. Sometimes the engine rpms go up to about 5000 before it shifts into the next gear. Also while driving, a "transmission is hot, pull over" message appears randomly. I was able to restart the vehicle after sitting for about 10 minutes on the highway, but the message reappears randomly while driving, and I have to pull over again. The car was taken to Ford, where they said the transmission was in perfect health, but I was charged for replacing the Transmission control unit. Take note that all of the transmission overheating issues are after the Transmission control unit were installed. Every time the car is driven, the hot transmission message pops up and I have to pull over and wait. This is ridiculous. I noticed on this website there are more than 300 powertrain transmission complaints. When will something be done? How many people need to complain before Ford is forced to fix this? The car is very jerky as well, and it does not feel safe to drive.
The transmission went and I went to a known transmission service company and they told me it is a known fact that dual clutch assembly in the ford focus goes bad. I brought the car less then 4 months ago. They told me I had to replace multiple parts. No warnings came on and when I drive. The car stops accelerating randomly and the transmisson overheats
Certain engine types of the Ford Focus had a recall campaign to replace the stuck canister purge valve. However, the 1.0 Ecoboost 3-cylinder engine was not included in that campaign. Our car is having the same exact issue and we don't understand why the campaign wasn't extended to the other engine types. This should have been an issue corrected by Ford. Please let me know if there is any way to have Ford correct this issue for this vehicle. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
