PROBLEMS STARTED AFTER THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE CHANGED BACK IN NOVEMBER 2017. FIRST, THE BATTERY LIGHT AND CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM WENT ON RIGHT AFTER THE FORD DEALER CHANGED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE ELECTRICAL OUTPUT WAS FINE DESPITE THE WARNING LIGHT. SINCE THEN SEVERAL ALTERNATORS WERE CHANGED BY THE DEALER BUT THE WARNING LIGHT REMAINED AND THE DEALER DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS. TODAY WHILE DRIVING (STREETS AND HIGHWAY) THE DASHBOARD (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER) WENT OFF AND ON AND ALL GAUGES WENT TO ZERO AND BACK ON AFTER A WHILE DURING DRIVING. THERE WAS A KICK TO THE ENGINE EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENED. MY BACKLIGHTS WENT CRAZY (INCLUDING REVERSE LIGHTS) WHILE DRIVING FORWARD ON STREETS/HIGHWAY. TURNING LIGHTS WERE ALSO AFFECTED. OTHER DRIVERS ALERTED ME TODAY. THIS IS A DANGER TO US AND OTHERS. I FEAR THE ENGINE COULD EVENTUALLY GET AFFECTED TOO. THERE ARE MANY POSTS ONLINE WITH IDENTICAL ISSUES AND FORD DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE WILLING OR ABLE TO SOLVE THIS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY LUNGED FORWARD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA AND THE DEALER. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 165,000.
LAST WINTER THE DOOR LATCHES FROZE AND WOULD NOT STAY SHUT. I HAD TO BUNGEE THE 2 REAR DOORS TOGETHER. SO I DID RESEARCH FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THAT ISSUES BACK IN 2006. THE NUMBER ON THE OLD LETTER WAS WHO I CONTACTED. THE LADY WENT ON TO SAY THEY WILL NOT COVER THE RECHECK OF ISSUE OR RE-PERFORM THE RECALL. SO I SAID SO WHAT YOUR SAYING IS SINCE YOU ARE SAYING YOU CANNOT FIX THE ISSUE AND DOORS MALFUNCTION I COULD OPEN A LAWSUIT! SHE SAID " YES "! I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THE ADVISOR THERE SAID THAT THE RECALL HAS NEVER BEEN PERFORMED IN MY VEHICLE. WINTER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER AND I WOULD MY CHILDREN TO BE SAFE IN THE BACK SEAT AND NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEM. WHILE I WAS AT MY LOCAL FORD DEALER THEY HAD ONE KIT LEFT IN STOCK BUT NOT EXACTLY SURE ON HOW TO PERFORM IT AND WILL ATTEMPT IF NECESSARY BUT WOULD RATHER HAVE IT DONE CORRECTLY AND PROFESSIONALLY.
TRANSMISSION SURGES OR LUNGES FORWARD DANGEROUSLY AT LOW SPEEDS, AND OFTEN WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR A CROSSWALK. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT 7 OR 8 MONTHS. TWICE THE SURGING OR LUNGING HAS RESULTED IN A NEAR ACCIDENT, ONCE WHILE STOPPED FOR A PEDESTRIAN IN A CROSSWALK, AND A 2ND WHEN STOPPED BEHIND ANOTHER VEHICLE, NEARLY RESULTING IN AN IMPACT WITH THE FRONT VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE WRENCH WARNING ICON ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE'S SPEED DECREASED WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER, TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE IGNITION, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP (LONA BROTHERS CAR SALES IN KANSAS CITY, MO, 64108) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
VEHICLE SURGES WHILE PARKING OR MOVING AT LOW SPEED, ESPECIALLY WHILE IN A TURN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. WHILE DRIVING, A GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE DECELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO LOW GEAR AND DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, IT MOVED SLOWLY. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS NO REPLACEMENT KIT TO REPAIR THE FAILURE AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE 2006 TRANSMISSION WAS FAILING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED MAPLECREST FORD OF MENDHAM (LOCATED AT 102 E MAIN ST, MENDHAM, NJ 07945, (800) 797-7259) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY COULD REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION FOR $9,000. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, A WRENCH WARNING INDICATOR AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE WRENCH WARNING INDICATOR WAS NO LONGER ILLUMINATED, BUT THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BROOSTER FORD WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL FAILED. THE DEALER CLEANED THE THROTTLE BOTTLE AND REPROGRAMMED THE PCM; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE WRENCH LIGHT WILL RANDOMLY COME ON AND THE RPMS GO CRAZY AND THE CAR STRUGGLES TO SHIFT GEARS. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR, IT WILL DRIVE FINE FOR A WHILE - SOMETIMES WEEKS - BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN. AFTER IT HAPPENS A FEW TIMES, THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL TURN ON BUT WILL GO BACK OFF AFTER DRIVING A LITTLE OR RESTARTING IT A FEW TIMES. NOW, A FEW DAYS AGO IT STARTED JUMPING AND STRUGGLING TO MOVE FROM A COMPLETE STOP, NO WRENCH LIGHT THIS TIME. TURNING THE CAR OFF & LETTING IT SIT FOR A COUPLE MINUTES HELPED & I GOT TO WORK. THEN ON MY WAY HOME, I MADE IT 5 OF THE 7 MILES BEFORE IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN. THIS TIME SLUGGISH ACCELERATION FROM A COMPLETE STOP. AFTER SITTING FOR A COUPLE DAYS, THE CAR DROVE SMOOTHLY FOR 3 MILES, STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND CAR JERKED AGAIN THEN LIMPED FORWARD. PULLED OVER & RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT DROVE SMOOTHLY FOR A LITTLE THEN VERY SLUGGISH ACCELERATION AGAIN. ONCE IT GOT MOVING, IT WAS GOOD, UNTIL THE NEXT COMPLETE STOP. I MANAGED TO GET A BLOCK FROM HOME AND PARK THE CAR AND I'M WAITING TO TAKE IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP 2 BLOCKS AWAY. HOPEFULLY AFTER LETTING THE CAR SIT FOR A DAY IT WILL MAKE IT THERE WITH NO PROBLEM...

VECHICLE SURGES OR RAVE FORWARD WITH PRESSING GAS PEDAL ON SHIFTING FORWARD OR REVERSE,LOSES DRIVE POWER,WRENCH LIGHT ON!
THIS CAR HAS MANY PROBLEMS. I WOULDN'T BUY THIS CAR AGAIN. I HAVE INVESTED TOO MUCH MONEY FOR REPAIRS. THE AIR BAG SENSOR KEEPS COMING ON. THE CAR HAS NO SPEED AFTER I HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. THE LIGHTS ON DASH ARE OFF AND ON.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,658.
THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER DOOR SEAL IS FAULTY, LETTING WATER GET INTO THE DOOR CAUSING IT TO FREEZE AND RUST. THE ELECTRICAL FOR THE DRIVER HEATED SEAT KEEPS MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING IT TO KEEP BREAKING. THE LEVERS THAT FLIP THE SECOND AND THIRD ROW SEATING HAVE BECOME FAULTY AND WILL NO LONGER WORK. LASTLY, THE ALL-WHEEL DRIVE COMPONENT ON MY VEHICLE STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING. IT WAS DURING THE WINTER AND THE ROADS WERE ICY SO IT CAUSED ME TO HAVE LESS TRACTION AND FISH TAIL. *TR
TAKATA RECALL THIRD ROW SEAT IS UNSAFELY UNHINGED BECAUSE THE BODY HAS RUSTED AWAY AND LEAVES THE SEAT UNSECURED AND A HOLE TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE.
UPON UTILIZING THE DRIVE THROUGH OF A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT, THE BREAKS WERE BEING FEATHERED TO CREEP UP TO THE WINDOW; THE 2006 FORD FREESTYLE LUNGED FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY AND ALMOST HIT A WOMEN AND HER KID CROSSING IN FRONT OF THE CAR; I MOVED THE CAR FROM THE DRIVE THROUGH AND STOPPED AT THE EDGE OF THE PARKING LOT BEFORE CONTINUING ONTO THE SIDE STREET; AT THIS TIME WHEN I MOVED MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK THE CAR AGAIN UNEXPECTEDLY LUNGED FORWARD STICKING THE NOSE OF MY CAR OUT INTO TRAFFIC, CARS SWERVED INTO THE FAR LANE TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH THE FRONT OF MY CAR. I IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE FORD SERVICE DEALER. UPON ARRIVING AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS FAILING, ADDITIONAL RESEARCH REVEALED THAT FORD ISSUE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR A CLEANING OF THE THROTTLE BODY; HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS IT IS FAULTY, THE CLEANING WOULDN'T SUFFICE.
SAFETY COMPLAINT FOR FORD FREESTYLE 2006. THE WRENCH AND ENGINE LIGHT APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE ENGINE GOES TO LIMP MODE AND THE SPEED DROPS TO 30 MILES PER HOUR FROM HIGHWAY SPEED OF 60 TO 70 MILES PER HOUR WITH NO WARNING OTHER THAN THE QUICK DROP IN SPEED AND WRENCH LIGHT. DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY WITH TRUCKS AND CARS GOING 70 MILES PER HOUR OR MORE IS BEYOND DANGEROUS AND ASKING TO GET HIT. WE HAVE HAD FORD SERVICE ON THIS CAR BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM. VEHICLE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY. HAVE HAD CAR TOWED, PULLED OVER TO BREAKDOWN LANE AND TRAVELED SIDE ROADS FOR FEAR OF GETTING HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO FORD CORP TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE THERE IS TRAGEDY.
ANYTIME IT RAINS MY VEHICLE FILLS WITH WATER. I HAVE MOLD STARTING IN MY VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP FOR RECALL WORK BUT IT STILL LEAKS HORRIBLE BAD. THIS CAR IS MOSTLY STATIONARY. WE HAVE HAD RAIN THE LAST TWO DAYS AND IT HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE DRIVE WAY. I CHECKED IT TODAY AND IT IS FULL OF WATER. THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2013

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

LONG STORY SHORT....MY VEHICLE WILL INCREASE THROTTLE ON IT'S OWN WHEN SITTING AT A LIGHT IN TRAFFIC OR WITHOUT TRAFFIC. SOMETIMES WHEN I RELEASE THE BRAKE TO TAKE OFF IT WILL THROTTLE UP JUST BEFORE AND THEN STALL OUT. I AM ONLY ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR IF I TURN OF THE AIR CONDITIONING. TODAY AS WITH MANY OTHER DAYS, THE THROTTLE INCREASED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SLOWLY BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES TO GET THE CAR TO STOP AS THE THROTTLE CONTIUED TO INCREASE AND THEN STALL OUT. I HAVE NOTICED SEVERELY INCREASING INCIDENTS OF THIS HAPPENING AND AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR. I HAVE NO OTHER OPTIONS. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE. I DON'T WANT TO DIE OR KILL SOMEONE ELSE BECAUSE THE CAR SEEMS TO HAVE A MIND OF ITS OWN AND MY EFFORTS TO CONTROL THE CAR ARE FUTILE AT TIMES.
VEHICLE WAS DISCOVERED TO HAVE SEVERE RUST ON FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY DRIVERS SIDE DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON TODAY'S DATE. IT APPEARS THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR SOME TIME AND HAS JUST BECAME PAINFULLY APPARENT. THE CORROSION/RUST/DETERIORATION OCCURS DIRECTLY BELOW AN AREA WHERE THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM DISPENSES LATER/CONDENSATION. EROSION TO STRUCTURAL SUPPORT IS SO BAD IT HAS EATEN AWAY BOTTOM, SIDES AND TOP OF FRAME ASSEMBLY. SOMETIMES KNOWN AS AN ENGINE CRADLE. IN ORDER TO REPLACE, THE ENGINE MUST BE MOVED AND OTHER FRONT END COMPONENTS REMOVED FROM VEHICLE. IT IS THE OPINION OF COMPLAINANT THAT THIS RUST ISSUE COULD RESULT IN A DANGEROUS CONDITION FOR THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE, THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS OTHER MOTORISTS ON THE ROAD AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. IT IS ALSO THE OPINION OF THE COMPLAINANT THAT THIS RUST ISSUE COULD RESULT IN THE STRUCTURAL ABILITY TO SUSPEND THE ENGINE. POSSIBLY RESULTING IN MISALIGNMENT OF KEY COMPONENTS OR MOVING PARTS AND COULD RESULT IN EXCESSIVE WEAR AND DAMAGE TO OTHER COMPONENTS OF THE AUTOMOBILE. IT IS ALSO THE OPINION OF THE COMPLAINANT THAT THE RUST ISSUE AND WEAKENING OF FRONT END SUPPORT MEMBERS COULD POSSIBLY IMPACT STEERING, TIRE LIFE, TIRE PATTERN ON ROADWAY DURING HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS, ETC. FORD MOTOR COMPANY APPEARS TO HAVE SIMILAR RUST/CHASSIS/FRAME ISSUES ON OTHER MODELS OF VEHICLES AFTER DOING QUICK SEARCH ONLINE REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND COMPARING PHOTOGRAPHS. FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS ISSUED RECALLS FOR OTHER RUST/FRAME/CHASSIS ISSUES, BUT NOT FOR THE FORD FREESTYLE.
WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE WITHOUT WARNING. HAPPENS IN BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. WRENCH INDICATOR AND CHECK ENGINE INDICATORS LIGHT ON DASH. VEHICLE SLOWS AND CAN BARELY ACCELERATE CAUSING NEAR-ACCIDENT. RESETTING CODE P0701 ALLOWS NORMAL OPERATION TILL CYCLE REPEATS IN SHORT AND RANDOM TIME OF DRIVING. ENGINE SHUT DOWN/RESTART CLEARS WRENCH LIGHT TILL CYCLE REPEATS. TOOK CAR TO 2 FORD DEALERS AND INDEPENDENT TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST. ALL ADVISED THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION CANNOT BE REBUILT OR REPAIRED AND THAT REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSIONS ARE GENERALLY NOT AVAILABLE. ALL ADVISED NOT REPAIRING THE CAR BECAUSE EVEN IF A NEW TRANSMISSION WERE AVAILABLE, COST IS $4500-$5500 FOR THE UNIT PLUS OVER $1000 LABOR TO REMOVE/REPLACE TRANSMISSION. RESEARCH SHOWS THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS CAR AND IT'S SIMILAR MODELS (FORD 500) OF ALL YEARS (2005-2007).
I WILL BE DRIVING AND EITHER THE AC WILL BE ON OR THE DVD SYSTEM WILL BE IN USE AND THE CONSOL TURNS BLACK AND THE LIGHTS GO OFF ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE ENGINE REVS AND SOMETIMES IT SAYS CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM. THIS HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE LIGHTS WILL TURN BACK ON IN THE DASHBOARD AND THEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS BLINKING. IT IS VERY CORNERING AS I DRIVE MY CHILDREN IN THIS CAR. I AM AFRAID IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN AND I WILL BE UNABLE TO STOP AND EITHER CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR HURT MY CHILDREN AND MYSELF BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM JUST SHUTTING DOWN. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND SHOULD BE FIXED BY FORD. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS HAS STARTED HAPPENING WITH MORE REGULARITY SINCE 1/2016
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AND BOTH REAR DOORS FAILED TO LATCH IN COLD WEATHER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LATCH MECHANISM HAD FROZEN AND WOULD HAVE TO HAVE A SHIELD PLACED OVER THE FRONT LATCHES AND LUBRICANT APPLIED TO ALL LATCHES. NOW 3 YEARS AFTER WE FIXED THE TRANSMISSION WE ARE BACK AT THE SAME JUNCTURE WHERE OUR TRANSMISSION IS CAUSING US A PROBLEM AGAIN! I TOOK IT IN BECAUSE IT WAS OVERHEATING AND I ENDED UP HAVING TO HAVE THE RADIATOR AND A PORTION OF THE WATER HOSE REPLACED AT ALMOST $1000! TWO DAYS LATER I'M DRIVING AND AS I PULL OFF FROM A LIGHT I NOTICE THE CAR DOES A PRETTY HEAVY JERK FORWARD! I THOUGHT I HIT THE PEDAL TOO HARD SO I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT! BUT ON MY WAY BACK HOME EACH TIME I TAKE OFF AT A LIGHT MY CAR IS HEAVING FORWARD AND THEN IT STARTS JERKING A LITTLE VIOLENTLY AND FINALLY AS I'M HEADING TO THE SHOP IT STARTS STALLING OUT AND FEELING LIKE IT'S NOT CATCHING GEARS TO CHANGE! I HAVE CHECKED AGAINST OTHER COMPLAINTS FOR THIS SAME CAR AND APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE, UNFORTUNATELY, IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S TIME FOR FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND STOP MAKING YOUR FAITHFUL CAR OWNERS GO FOR BROKE FIXING AN ISSUE THAT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING ISSUE/DEFECT! I NOW HAVE 180,100 MILES AND A LOAN FOR STILL OVER $3000. AFTER PRAYING AND FINALLY MAKING TO THE SHOP, HE PLACED THE DIAGNOSTIC MAC OF THINE ON IT ONLY TO INFORM ME THAT IT IS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY WAS OPENED. I SEARCHED FOR A RECALL OR SOMETHING TO OFFSET THE COST BUT I HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL THUS FAR. THIS WAS A VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE AND THANKFULLY ONE WHERE I DIDN'T GET INJURED DUE TO CARS ALMOST HITTING ME, RUNNING UP ON MY BUMPER EVEN WITH THE FLASHERS ON, IT'S NOT FAIR THAT THIS COMPLAINT IS CLOSED. MY SON COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED . THEIR WAS NO ENGINE LIGHT WARNING NO TRANSMISSION LIGHT AND HE HAD TO CROSS OVER 4 LANES OF HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC TO GET TO THE SHOULDER OF THE GARDEN STATE PKWY. I HAD THE ENGINE REPLACED AND 6 WEEKS LATER UPON PICKING UP THE VEHICLE IT NOW HAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THE DAY I PICKED UP THE CAR IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 60MPH FOR ME TO ENTER TRAFFIC. WE HAVE A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MILES PER HOUR AND THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL WHEN WE ASKED. BUT I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS IS MANY CARS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND LOTS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAFETY.
