I BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRBAG AND SELT BELTS SINCE AUGUST 2017.I RECEIVE A RECALL IN THE MAIL LETTING ME KNOW THAT MY AIRBAG IN MY CAR IS BEEN RECALL.
FORD BRAKES: WHENEVER YOU HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE BRAKES CATCH AIR AND THEY DO NOT WORK!
PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS HCU. ABS ACTIVATED AFTER HITTING LARGE BUMP IN THE ROAD AND THEN BRAKE PEDAL HAS BEEN SOFT EVER SINCE. IT HAS DONE THIS TWICE IN THE PAST HOWEVER IT HAS CORRECTED ITSELF RATHER QUICKLY. THIS TIME IT HAS NOT CORRECTED ITSELF AFTER 3 DAYS.
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANY MORE INFORMATION REGARDING THIS RECALL SINCE 2016. FORD HAS NOT REACHED OUT TO ME TO GET THIS RESOLVED AND NOW MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS LIGHTING UP ON MY DASHBOARD.
NO ISSUES DIRECTLY, I HAVE RECEIVED MULTIPLE LETTER FROM FORD ABOUT THE RECALL AND THEY ADVISE TO DO NOTHING. THEY WILL CONTACT AT A LATER TIME TO COME INTO TO A DEALER FOR AIRBAGS TO BE FIXED. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON AT LEAST A YEAR MAYBE LONGER. IF THIS IS SUCH AN URGENT ISSUE, WHY ARE THEY NOT TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS HOWEVER; MY DAUGHTER OFTEN IS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. IF THIS IS A RECALL AND SHOULD BE FIXED, WHY IS FORD NOT HAVING ME COME IN URGENTLY TO GET THE AIRBAG REPAIRED.
"TAKATA RECALL". I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY IN JULY 2016 CONCERNING THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR WHICH MAY RUPTURE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. I UNDERSTAND THAT FORD WILL EVENTUALLY REPAIR THIS PROBLEM BUT MY PROBLEM IS THAT THE AIRBAG LOOKS LIKE IT IS GETTING READY TO DEPLOY RIGHT NOW? I HAVE NO PROBLEM WAITING FOR A SOLUTION FROM FORD BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY AT ANYTIME. I KEEP CHECKING THIS SITE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION BUT IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS NO FURTHER INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS RECALL. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF SOMEONE COULD INFORM ME AS TO THE STATUS OF THIS RECALL BEFORE A PASSENGER OR EVEN MYSELF GETS INJURED IN THE MEANTIME.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70PMH, TRIED TO SLOW ENTERING A CURVE ONTO ANOTHER HIGHWAY, 271S TO 71S, IN OHIO AND HAD TO HIT MY BRAKES HARD BECAUSE TRAFFIC JAMMED SUDDENLY. I DIDN'T HAVE BRAKES AT ALL, MY ABS NEVER KICKED IN. I WENT OFF THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND EVEN THEN COULDN'T STOP WITH MY FOOT ALL THE WAY DOWN.I NEARLY HIT THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME GOING ABOUT 50+. I TOOK IT DIRECTLY TO MY MECHANIC WHO REPLACED MY MASTER CYLINDER AGAIN (2X IN 5 MONTHS) AND AFTER HE WAS DONE THE PEDAL NO LONGER BRAKES PROPERLY. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE PEDAL IS NEARLY TO THE FLOOR. IT IS AKIN TO NOT HAVING PEDALS AT ALL. I HAVE TO STAND ON IT TO STOP AND EVEN THEN ITS THE PANIC FEELING OF BEING UNABLE TO STOP. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT COULD KILL AND I'VE READ MANY OTHER STORIES OF PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR ISSUES WITH BRAKING. FORD SAID THAT HAPPENS SOMETIMES WHEN MY MECHANIC CALLED AND GAVE NO FURTHER REASONING TO IT. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING A CAR I'VE HAD A YEAR THAT'S NOT EVEN A DECADE OLD.
ABS ENGAGES WHEN BRAKING GOING OVER GRAVEL, OR OTHER SMALL BUMPS IN THE ROAD AND DOES NOT RETURN TO NORMAL. BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR, RESULTING IN ALMOST COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES. BRAKES DO NOT RETURN TO NORMAL UNTIL THE CAR IS RESTARTED. THIS HAS HAPPENED CONSISTENTLY WHENEVER THE ABS ENGAGES.
TAMARA RECALL I WAS NOT MADE AWARE THAT MY VEHICLE WAS APART OF THIS RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WINDOW FAILED TO STAY UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN PLACED A STOPPER BETWEEN THE GLASS AND THE DOOR TO KEEP IT FROM FALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED LINCOLN OF FRANKLIN AT (615) 794-4585 (1129 MURFREESBORO RD, FRANKLIN, TN 37064) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF ANY RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE WHEN I PURCHASED IT. I HAD AN ACCIDENT LAST MONTH AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND I COULDN'T CONTROL THE STEERING AND WENT CAREENING OFF THE ROADWAY INTO A STATIONARY SIGN AND TOW UP THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG NEVER DEPLOYED. NOR THE DRIVER AIR BAG.
BRAKES GO TO THE FLOOR AFTER ABS ENGAGEMENT. ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT AND MECHANICS ARE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE IT. VEHICLE IS COMING TO A STOP HAPPENS RANDOMLY UNDER EXTREME AND REGULAR BRAKING.

WHILE DRIVING ON A POT HOLD OR CRACKED STREET THE BRAKES SEEM TO SHAKE AND EITHER BECOME LOOSE OR GO TO THE FLOOR AS THE CAR IS IN MOTION IT'S DIFFICULT TO STOP. ALSO STARTING TO NOTICE THAT THE BRAKES EHEN PUSHED ALL THE WAY ARE NOT ALLOWING THE CAR TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WITHOUT HITTING ANY ROUGH STREETS. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FROM JAN 2015 TILL NOW JULY 2017 AND THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED TO ME MULTIPLE TIMES APPROXIMATELY 8 TO 10 TIMES. MOST RECENT BRAKE ISSUE WAS TODAY 7/7/17 DRIVING 10MPH AND MY MILEAGE IS AT 127,000 MILES
ABS CONTROL VALVE STICKS WHEN BRAKE IS USED HARD. AFTER THAT, LOSES BRAKE PEDAL. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR YEARS 07-09.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED AT HER OWN EXPENSE. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT WAS DENIED A LOANER VEHICLE. 16S26/NHTSA RECALL 16V-384 THIS RECALL ON MY FORD VEHICLE IS OVER ONE YEAR OLD AND HAS NOT BEEN FIXED WHAT IS THE STATUS OF THIS RECALL NOTICE?

TAKATA RECALL- HAS BEEN IN EFFECT SINCE JUNE 2016 AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WHEN WE CHECK THE STATUS OF THE RECALL ON LINE IT ALWAYS STATES THAT THERE IS NO CORRECTIVE ACTION TO BE TAKEN AT THIS TIME. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WAS LITERALLY POPPING OUT OF THE DASH AND WE HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AT OUR OWN EXPENSE SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL CORRECTION.
TAKATA RECALL - I CANNOT REGISTER MY VEHICLE IN CANADA (SINCE JUNE 2017 WHEN I MOVED) BECAUSE IT CANNOT BE IMPORTED. IT CANNOT BE IMPORTED DUE TO THE RECALL THAT HAS NOT BE REMEDIED BY FORD. FORD HAS NOT REMEDIED THIS PROBLEM IN A TIMELY FASHION. NO ACCIDENT OR INJURY HAS OCCURRED, I JUST WANT TO REGISTER MY VEHICLE IN ONTARIO. THE ADDRESS I LEFT IS MY MOTHER'S ADDRESS IN NEW YORK STATE.
AIRBAG RECALL 16V384000. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS NO PARTS AND MAY NEVER GET REPLACED. IT HAS BEEN OVER 1 YEAR SINCE THE RECALL HAS BEEN RECEIVED.
I FOUND MY WIFES FORD FUSION UNDER RECALL AND AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS REPLACED I HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE ARE NO AIRBAGS AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL AT THIS TIME. HER AIRBAG LIGHT HAS STAYED ON AFTER STARTING HER CAR AT LEAST 4 TIMES THIS YEAR, I HAVE FOUND NO WAY TO SAFELY DISCONNECT OR TURN OFF THE AIRBAGS UNTIL NEW AIRBAGS ARE AVAILABLE, I WORRY EVERY TIME SHE DRIVES HER CAR OR HAS PASSENGERS WITH HER, ESPECIALLY HER ELDERLY HANDICAPPED MOTHER OR WHEN WE HAVE OUR 5 MONTH OLD GRANDDAUGHTER WITH US, WHAT IF THE AIRBAGS GO OFF FOR NO REASON? WHO PAYS? WHAT IF THERE ARE DEATHS, NOT JUST IN OUR CAR, BUT WHAT IF THE BAGS CAUSE US TO HIT ANOTHER CAR HEAD ON, THEN WHAT? WE ARE TERRIFIED OF THESE AIRBAGS AND NEED HELP!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A TURN, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS SPONGY TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD BEFORE BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WAITED FOR A WHILE, AND RESUMED DRIVING SLOWLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC (CARLO AUTO REPAIR SHOP) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
WHEN I PUT THE AC ON THE CAR TRIES TO STALL OUT, AND WON'T PICK UP ANY SPEED, I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED MORE THAN ONCE BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLM
CAR ACCELERATION WAS UNCONTROLLABLE, UNABLE TO ACCELERATE, STALLING DURING ACCELERATION. CAR WILL ACCELERATE TO 40 AND THEN DROP TO 0 IN A MATTER OF SECONDS, ALL WHILE ACCELERATOR IS BEING PRESSED.
TAKATA RECALL - I AM WAITING TO HAVE MY AIRBAGS REPLACED ON RECALL. THIS WAS A MANDATORY RECALL CONCERNING THE TAKATA AIR BAGS
TAKATA RECALL. MANUFACTURER STILL CANNOT REPLACE AIR BAGS AND IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE THE RECALL WAS ISSUED (MAY 2016)
DRIVER HIT POTHOLE/BUMP WHILE DRIVING WHICH ACTIVATED THE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM. BRAKE PETAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, REMAINED VERY SOFT AND IS VERY CLOSE TO THE FLOOR. BRAKES WORK BUT HAVE TO BE DEPRESSED ALMOST TO THE FLOOR. INFORMED ABS CONTROL/HYDRAULIC ASSEMBLY NEEDS GO BE REPLACED. THE ABS PUMP/HYDRAULIC ASSEMBLY FAILED WHICH IS A BRAKING SAFETY HAZARD.
WHEN I'M DRIVING AND RUNNING 45 MILL'S MY CAR GET DEATH. I WENT TO AUTO ZONE AND THEY SAY THE THROTTLE BODY IT'S NOT GOOD.I HAVE INFORMATION THIS PART IT'S UNDER INVESTIGATION
THE MOTOR IS MAKING THIS KNOCKING NOISE WHENEVER I DRIVE
BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEMS. GOING TO STOP WITH BRAKES VERY SOFT OR NON EXISTENT. MOST OF THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH OEM PARTS TO NO AVAIL. PROBLEM TO BE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT FOR ABS SYSTEM. ALMOST CAUSED NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PETAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. STARTED AFTER ABS SYSTEM KICKED IN LAST WINTER. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND ROADS WERE SLIGHTLY ICY. HAPPENED AGAIN LAST NIGHT MAY 18 2017 AT 1130 AT NIGHT. CAR FAILED TO STOP AT INTERSECTION AT MY WORK IN BUTLER PA PULLING ON TO ROUTE 8 A MAJOR HIGHWAY. CAR FINALLY STOPPED ABOUT AN 1/8 TH OF WAY THREW THEN LIGHT CHANGED TO GREEN THEN PROCEED IN MY WAY HOME BRAKES RETURNED TO THE NORMAL SOFT PETAL AND MADE IT HOME SAFELY.
IN MAY, MY CAR LOST NEARLY ALL BRAKE PRESSURE AFTER I HAD TO MAKE AN ABRUPT STOP TO AVOID A COLLISION. I WAS TRAVELING STRAIGHT ON A PAVED ROAD WHEN I ENGAGED IN THE ABRUPT STOP AT AN APPROXIMATE SPEED OF 45 MPH. THIS ISSUE HAD OCCURRED IN THE PAST AS WELL, BUT WITHIN THE NEXT 1-2 TIMES I DROVE MY CAR THE BRAKE PRESSURE WOULD RETURN. THIS TIME IT DID NOT. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO A LOCAL BRAKE MECHANIC SHOP,. I WAS INITIALLY TOLD THAT I NEEDED A NEW MASTER CYLINDER. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN TO HAVE THE MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT UPON FURTHER REVIEW HE WAS ABLE TO TELL THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER IN THE BRAKES IS NOT THE ISSUE, AND HE'S RESTORED BRAKE PRESSURE TO THE SYSTEM; HOWEVER, ONCE THE ABS SYSTEM WAS ENGAGED THE "SOFT" BRAKES RETURNED. THE MECHANIC FURTHER NOTED THAT HIS BELIEF IS THAT THE ABS MODULE HAS FAILED.
NO BRAKES .... MY CAR HAS BEEN BASICALLY YARD ART FOR SEVERAL MONTHS .... HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH SPONGY BRAKES FOR YEARS IF I HAD TO STOP SUDDENLY AND THE ABS BRAKES WHERE ENGAGED ...THEN THE BRAKES WOULD GO SPONGY.. ANOTHER TIME I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IF THE CAR WAS GOING TO STOP I SLIDE INSTEAD OF STOPPING ... THIS PAST MAY 2017 I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND A CAR PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME HAD TO SLAM MY BRAKES ON AND I BARELY GOT STOPPED ! SCARED ME TO DEATH .. BRAKES WERE EXTREMELY SPONGY BY THE TIME I MADE IT HOME I DIDN'T HAVE ANY BRAKES AT ALL !!! MY HUSBAND REPLACED BRAKE PADS , CALIBERS, MASTER CYLINDER , AND ROTORS ! WELL OVER $700 I PAID OUT . STILL HAVE NO BRAKES AT ALL . THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHY IS NOTHING BEING DONE ????? I'M THE ONLY INCOME MY FAMILY HAS AND NOW I HAVE A CAR ALMOST PAID FOR THAT JUST SITS !!! IT'S YARD ART PRETT MUCH .... I AM SPENDING A FORTUNE TO GET TO WORK AND BACK AND CAN'T AFFORD THE $500 FOR THEABS MODULE / PUMP NOT TO MENTION THE COST TO HAVE IT PUT ON !!! THIS IS HORRIBLE ... I'M ALREADY DIE HARD FORD GIRL BUT AFTER HIS EXPERIENCE I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE ....
STILL WAITING TO GET PASSENGER SIDE TAKATA AIRBAG REPLACED. HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO ALLOW THIS ISSUE TO CONTINUE. MAKE TAKATA PROVIDE RENTAL CARS TO VEHICLES AFFECTED AND THAT WILL GET THEM MOVING.
BRAKES WERE OPERATIONAL W/ NORMAL FUNCTION/ RESPONSE. I FIRMLY PRESSED THE PEDAL, TO AVOID A POTHOLE, TRAVELING OVER A RAILROAD CROSSING. IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER, THE BRAKES BECAME/REMAIN 30% EFFECTIVE, W/ NO LOSS OF FLUID. I'VE HAD MY MECHANIC REPLACE THE ABS MODULE & MASTER CYLINDER TO NO AVAIL/ SUCCESS. I'LL NOW TAKE TO DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS, SO I MAY UNLOAD/SELL IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER REPAIRS.
TOOK THE MY VEHICLE IN TWICE TO THE FORD DEALER IN WESTLAKE,OHIO. FIRST TIME IN JULY, 2016 AND THE SECOND TIME IN MAY, 2017. BOTH TIMES THEY INFORMED ME THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL THEY RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT AND THEY HAD NO IDEA WHEN THIS WOULD BE.
HIT A POTHOLE IN ROAD JUST PRIOR TO STOP LIGHT, BRAKES DID NOT STOP CAR UNTIL AFTER GOING THROUGH INTERSECTION, THEN TOOK A LONG TIME TO STOP EVEN AT SLOW SPEEDS WHILE DRIVING TO REPAIR SHOP. I HAD TO PUSH BRAKE PEDAL NEARLY TO THE FLOOR TO GET IT TO STOP, EVEN AT SLOW SPEEDS.
ABS BRAKING SYSTEM ISSUE ON FORD FUSION. AFTER ENGAGING ABS, THE BRAKES ARE LOOSE AND SOFT CAUSING DRIVER TO PRESS FIRMLY TO APPLIED BRAKES AND CAUSING LONGER STOPS. HAVE HAD TWO BRAKE SPECIALIST REVIEW AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO RESOLVE. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON COMPLAINT AMONG FORD FUSION OWNERS. OWN FORD FOCUS, EDGE, EXPLORER, AND MERCURY MONTERREY AND MOUNTAINEER THAT DO NOT EXHIBIT THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE SERVICE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND A STRONG ODOR WAS DETECTED FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS HARD TO OPEN UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,000.
WHEN BRAKING, THE PEDAL MAY INITIALLY REQUIRE LITTLE MOVEMENT TO SLOW DOWN BUT MAY SUDDENLY STOP BRAKING AND THE PEDAL WILL DROP TO NEARLY FULL TRAVEL BEFORE BRAKES START WORKING AGAIN, AND THEN SOMETIMES AT THAT POINT BRAKE HARD. OTHER TIMES, IF BRAKING HARD ENOUGH ON THE SLIPPERY SURFACE, THE ABS WILL KICK IN, BUT AFTERWARDS THE PEDAL WILL BECOME VERY SOFT AND INEFFECTIVE. SOMETIMES, TURNING OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTING WILL "RESET" THE BRAKES, BUT NOT ALWAYS. ALSO, SOME DAYS WITHOUT EXPLANATIONS THE PEDAL IS SOFTER THAN OTHER TIMES. THERE IS NOT A CONSISTENT AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED FOR THE SAME BRAKING. THE VEHICLE SHOWS NO ERROR CODES AT ANY OF THESE TIMES. THE PEDAL GOING SOFT FOR NO REASON WITHOUT AN ABS EVENT HAPPENED TODAY SO I WILL ENTER TODAY AS THE DAY THIS HAPPENED, BUT THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN HAPPENING OFTEN FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS.

NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: OPENS NEW WINDOW TAKES AWAY FROM VIN LOOKUP SECTION> 16V384 RECALL DATE: JUNE 1, 2016 MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: 16S26 IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR SINCE THIS RECALL CAME UP AND THERE IS STILL NOT A REMEDY FOR IT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY FAMILY, AS MY OLDER CHILDREN USUALLY RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHEN I CAN EXPECT A RESOLUTION TO THIS RECALL SO THAT I CAN GET MY VEHICLE FIXED.
I WAS DRIVING HOME THE CAR STARTED SHAKING AND IDLING VERY ROUGH. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR DIED ON ME RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I WAS STUCK ON A CITY STREET DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC.GOT IT TO A DEALER COIL PACK HAD EXPLODED FRYING THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE. RESEARCH SHOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE ON FUSIONS 2006-2009. BUT NO RESOLUTIONS ARE OFFERED BY FORD.
ABS LIGHT IS ON WITH SOFT BRAKING.
WHEN BRAKING ON A BUMPY ROAD, BRAKES BECOME SOFT/ GOES TO THE FLOOR. ABS PROBLEM. HAPPENED ABOUT 9X ALREADY. ALMOST COST AN ACCIDENT. HAVE TO RE TRIGGER THE ABS TO RESTORE BRAKE FIRMNESS.
MY DASHBOARD IS SEPARATING FROM THE CAR. IT IS GETTING SO BAD THAT NOW IT IS SEPARATING FROM WHERE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS AT. THE OTHER ISSUE IS THAT I HAVE IN THE PASSENGER DOOR AN IMPLODED AIRBAG THAT HAS CAUSED A BUBBLE IN MY DOOR. MY CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY FORM OF ACCIDENTS FOR EITHER OF THESE ITEMS TO OCCUR. AS FOR MY AIRBAG THAT HAS BEEN ON RECALL FOR 21/2 YEARS AND HAS YET TO BE HANDLED, YET MY BROTHER IN LAW AND MY COUSIN HAVE BOTH HAD THEIR CARS FIXED (NOT FORDS) WHICH MAKES ME WONDER WHAT THE ISSUE IS.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE I CONTACTED MY DEALER AND IT SEEMS THAT IT WILL BE MONTHS BEFORE THIS IS RESOLVED. NOW THAT I KNOW, I AM UNCOMFORTABLE WITH DRIVING MY CAR AND WOULD LIKE A RENTAL UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS REMEDIED. MY DEALER (SORENS FORD - BROOKFIELD, WI) INDICATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO AUTHORIZE A RENTAL UNTIL THE PARTS COME IN FOR THE REPAIR. IS THERE ANY OTHER RECOURSE THAT I MAY HAVE??
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AFTER GOING OVER AN UNEVEN SURFACE THE VEHICLE HAS DEVELOPED A SOFT BRAKE PEDAL AFTER ABS ACTIVATION. THIS OF COURSE SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASES THE STOPPING DISTANCE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONDITION WILL PERSIST BUT CAN TYPICALLY BE TEMPORARILY CORRECTED BY PERFORMING A PANIC STOP THAT CAUSES THE ABS TO ACTIVATE. I AM A FORMER ASE CERTIFIED MASTER TECHNICIAN, SERVICE ADVISOR AND CURRENT ASSISTANCE SERVICE MANAGER FOR VARIOUS MANUFACTURER AT A DEALER LEVEL. THIS ISSUE OBVIOUSLY ORIGINATES FROM ONE OR MORE VALVES INSIDE THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT STICKING. YOUR AVERAGE CUSTOMER/CONSUMER WOULD NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT THIS CONDITION OCCURS AND ACCIDENTS HAVE OBVIOUSLY ALREADY HAPPENED AND WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. YOU'RE AVERAGE INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOPS WOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO DIAGNOSE THIS CONDITION AND LIKELY NOT BE ABLE TO REPAIR IT. MY MOTHER DRIVES THIS CAR WHICH I GAVE TO HER AND THANKFULLY HARDLY DRIVES. AFTER WORKING FOR GENERAL MOTORS DURING THE IGNITION SWITCH DISASTER AND THE DOZENS OF RECALLS THEY RELEASED AFTER I WOULDN'T BE UPSET TO NEVER SEE ANOTHER RECALL AGAIN. HOWEVER THIS IS A FAULT WITHIN A VEHICLE I FIRMLY BELIEVE SHOULD NOT BE THE CONSUMERS RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR. THIS AFFECTS THE SAFETY OF NOT JUST THOSE IN THE CAR BUT THOSE OUTSIDE THE CAR AS WELL.
MY IGNITION COILS HAVE MELTED AND FRIED THE PCM. LONG STORY SHORT IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHERE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY GOING 50MPH WHEN MY CAR JUST WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. IT STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO LOSE CONTROL. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY MAKE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAVE IT TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. UNFORTUNATELY, FORD HAS YET TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND RECALL THESE DEFECTIVE PARTS. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS FILED ONLINE. THIS ISSUE COSTS THOUSANDS TO FIX AND SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY BY FORD. EVEN THE DEALERSHIP COMMENTED THAT THEY THOUGHT THE IGNITION COIL MAY HAVE MELTED BEFORE THEY EVEN LOOKED AT IT BECAUSE THEY KNOW THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH FORD FUSIONS. I'M REALLY DISAPPOINTED IN FORD.
