I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, THE HEAD GASKET, DRIVE SHAFT AND CARRIER BARRINGS. WHEN I HAD THE VEHICLE FIXED I WAS TOLD I NEED A NEW GAS TANK AS WELL. MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT IS RISING UP FROM THE DASH AND I AM CONCERNED IT WILL DEPLOY EVEN WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT TO INITIATE THE DEPLOY. CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO HELP IN ANY WAY. I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2013 AND HAVE HAD PROBLEMS FROM THE START WITH NO HELP FROM FORD. THANK YOU.
BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR, AND IS SPONGY. CAR DOES NOT STOP AS WELL AS IT SHOULD. HAVE HAD ROTORS, CALIPERS, BRAKE PADS AND FLUID CHANGED. DID GOOGLE SEARCH AND FOUND THIS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH FORD FUSIONS. THE ISSUE IS THE ABS MODULE AND PUMP. A VALVE INSIDE GETS STUCK OPEN AND WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED, THE FLUID JUST RECIRCULATES INSIDE THE MODULE, AND BRAKES LOSE EFFECTIVENESS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,578.
FIRST EVENT, UPON APPROACHING A CITY STOPLIGHT & BRAKING, THE 2008 FORD FUSION SKIDDED ON A MANHOLE COVER, VIBRATED, SHUDDERED & SUDDENLY BRAKES WENT SOFT & I HAD TO PRESS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO STOP. CAR TOOK A LONG TIME & DISTANCE TO STOP, & APPROX. 15 MINUTES TO RECOVER NORMAL BRAKING CAPABILITY. PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED WHEN BRAKE IS ENGAGED & TRAVELLING OVER ROUGH PAVEMENT AS WELL AS MANHOLE COVERS - WITH ADDITIONAL TIME NOW REQUIRED TO RECOVER BRAKES. THESE SUDDEN ANTI-LOCK BRAKING EPISODES OCCUR ON CITY STREETS WHILE COMING TO A STOP SO NO EXCESSIVE SPEED INVOLVED. EPISODES INCREASING IN FREQUENCY OVER PAST YEAR. MECHANICS DISMISSED ISSUE AFTER CHECKING BRAKES A COUPLE TIMES & FINDING NO PROBLEM. OF COURSE, ANTI-LOCK EPISODES ARE INTERMITTENT & NEVER HAPPEN WHEN MECHANICS ARE AT THE WHEEL! ALTHOUGH OUR ONLY VEHICLE, CAR IS GARAGED UNTIL REPLACEMENT PARTS ARRIVE AS UNWILLING TO RISK ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE IN WINTER ROAD CONDITIONS. DANGEROUS ISSUE ALTHOUGH THANKFULLY NO ACCIDENTS TO REPORT.
HAVE HEARD ANYTHING TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE AND THE AREA WHERE THE AIRBAG IS , IS COMING APART.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE WRENCH AND ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER TWO MINUTES, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED NORMALLY, BUT THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR WAS STILL ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY FIFTEEN TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CODES WERE ERRONEOUS AND THE FUEL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,965.
TAKATA RECALL - THERE WAS A RECALL ON OUR VEHICLE AIRBAG OFFICIALLY JUNE F 2016. WE RECACHED OUT TO A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP PRIOR TO THAT DATE (AROUND APRIL OF 2016) AND THEY STATED THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING SINCE THE RECALL HAD YET BEEN ANNOUNCED. ITS NOW ALMOST 2 YEARS LATER AND WE ARE JUST RECEIVING NOTICE THAT NO ONE SHOULD BE RIDING IN THE VEHICLE'S PASSENGER SEAT. THE NOTICE STATES IF SOMEONE RIDES IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, AND THE FAULTY AIRBAG MALFUNCTIONS, THE PERSON CAN BE KILLED OR INJURED. WHEN WE CALLED FORD AGAIN, THEY STATED THEY STILL DID NOT HAVE PARTS TO COMPLETE FIX. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE SINCE WE CARPOOL WITH MULTIPLE PEOPLE. THE FOR DEALERSHIP ALSO STATED THEY COULDN'T SUPPLY A RENTAL CAR.

2008 FORD FUSION FAULTY BRAKES "HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT". (SEE LINKS BELOW )MY WIFE AND CHILD WHERE ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN SHE SWITCHED LANES AND ATTEMPTED TO USE HER BRAKES AT THE SAME TIME. LIKE OUT OF A HORROR FILM HER BRAKES DID NOT WORK AND PEDAL WENT DOWN ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. BRAKES WENT SUPER SOFT AND THE VEHICLES EMERGENCY BRAKE NEEDED TO BE USED TO AVOID A COLLISION. AFTER DOING RESEARCH I AM NOT SURE WHY THIS HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL YET. I FOUND COUNTLESS PEOPLE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT REPORTING FAULTY BRAKES AND DEALER REPORTED A FAULTY HYDRAULIC CONTROL MODULE (PLEASE SEE LINKS BELOW). WITH A COST OF UP TO $1000. WHILE DRIVING I WAS REQUIRED TO APPLY THE BRAKE PEDAL FURTHER THAN NORMAL. TO STOP THE PEDAL MUST BE APPLIED ALMOST TO THE FLOOR. BRAKE PEDAL FEELS SOFT, SPONGE LIKE, WHEN APPLIED. VEHICLE STILL STOPS BUT PUMPING THEM REPEATEDLY IS REQUIRED. THIS IS REQUIRED WHEN STATIONARY, IN MOTION AND ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. VEHICLE HAS 120K BUT THIS ISSUE JUST STARTED. STATING THE OBVIOUS THAT BRAKES ARE AN IMPORTANT BUT CERTAINLY CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE EVEN IF THE BRAKES STOP THE VEHICLE. YOU HAVE TO ADJUST YOUR SPEED AND TIMING WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. ALTHOUGH THIS HAS NOT OCCURRED YET, SUDDEN OR EMERGENCY BRAKING MAY BE REQUIRED SO I CAN'T CONFIRM HOW THEY WOULD REACT TO THIS SITUATION.
THERE WAS A RECALL. I RECEIVED A LETTER ON THIS OVER A YEAR AGO AND STILL IT IS NOT FIXED. I AM NOT PLEASED THAT FORD IA LETTING SOMETHING THIS SERIOUS BE PUT OFF. IF SOMEONE GETS HURT OR DIES WHILE RIDING AS A PASSENGER IN MY CAR I WILL BE SUING!

BRAKES ARE SPONGY AND INTERMITTENTLY DO WORK AT ALL ..HAVE REPLACED CALIPERS TWICE AND BLED THE LINES ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. AIR BAG ON PASSENGERS SIDE IS COMING APART IN DASH. DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE SNAPPED AND THE DOORS LOCK THEMSELVES EVEN WITH KEY IN IGNITION RUNNING. LOOKING ONLINE I SEE THAT MANY HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES.
BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR WHEN ABS KICKS IN. BRAKE PEDAL IS NOW SPONGY. CD PLAYER MAKES NOISES LIKE IT IS TRYING TO CHANGE CD'S BUT THERE ARE NO CD'S IN IT.
MY BRAKES KEEP FAILING ON MY CAR , EVEN AFTER NEW BRAKES. THEY GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN 6 DIFFERENT ACCIDENTS, ONCE HAVING TO TAKE THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND DAMAGING A RIM. IT STARTED AT 14000 ISH OFF AND ON AND I ONLY HAVE 59000 ON IT NOW, AND FORD NEEDS TO TAKE CARE OF THIS. I HAVE READ SO MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME. I MEAN THIS IS NOT ONLY DANGEROUS FOR ME AND MY PASSENGERS , BUT FOR ANYONE IN FRONT OF ME. I WANT MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO KNOW I HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE, AND I ALSO HAVE PRINTED A FILE OF ALL COMPLAINTS I HAVE FOUND. THEY NOT ONLY FAIL, BUT THEY GRIND..... WITH NEW ROTORS AND BRAKES AS EVERYONE ELSE IS SAYING. I CANNOT DRIVE IT IF IT RAINS OR SNOWS, BECAUSE YOU JUST CANNOT STOP THE CAR. I NEARLY WAS IN A PILE UP ON THE HIWAY AS WELL. IT IS SCAREY. I WOULD CHALLENGE THEM ON THIS. THE OTHER DAY I COULD NOT STOP AGAIN. THIS IS A PROBLEM ....SO MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME THING.
I HAD MY 2008 FORD FUSION SE CHECKED OUT DUE TO THE REAR TIRES WERE GOING BALD. I HAVE PUT 6 TIRES ON THE REAR TIL THE BODYSHOP PUT IT ON A LIGHT AND SAID THERE WAS A BEND IN MY KNUCKLE ASSEMBLY AND MY LOWER REAR PASSENGER CONTROL ARM WAS SLIGHTLY BENT. MY STEERING WHEEL TURNS TO THE LEFT WHILE DRIVING AND THE WHEEL ARE STRAIGHT. MY BACK TO TIRES NEEDLESS TO SAY BOW OUT, AND I CONTINUOUSLY BUY TIRES BECAUSE THE PARTS AND LABOR ARE OVER 1000.00. ALSO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COVER IS LOOSE AND IM AFRAID THT THE AIRBAG WILL POP WHILE IM DRIVING.
WHILE BRAKING AND HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD THAT ACTIVATED THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) SYSTEM THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT ENGAGE PROPERLY AFTER THIS. THE PEDAL WOULD HAVE TO BE DEPRESSED ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO STOP. VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND DETERMINED TO HAVE A STUCK VALVE ON THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT WHICH IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE ABS SYSTEM. REPAIR COST WAS $100 TO BLEED ALL NEW FLUID INTO THE SYSTEM AND $925 TO DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR THE FAULTY ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT.
THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS SLIDING INTO TRAFFIC DUE TO ICY CONDITIONS. AFTER HITTING THE BRAKES HARD AND ENGAGING THE ABS SYSTEM THE BRAKES BECAME SPONGEY AND WENT TO THE FLOOR. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN AFTER HAVING TO HIT THE BRAKES HARD AGAIN AND THIS TIME WE WERE ON AN INTERSTATE. MY MECHANIC HAS REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER, BRAKES, AND ADJUSTED THEM. AFTER THIS HAPPENING SEVERAL TIMES MY MECHANIC RESEARCHED IT TO FIND THE THE ABS MODULES ON THIS MODEL ARE FAULTY. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS AND EXPENSIVE DEFECT ON THIS AUTOMOBILE. AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS WITH THIS MODEL AND THE SAME DEFECT HAS BEEN NOTED.
ABS ACTIVATED WHEN SLOWING FOR A RIGHT HAND TURN ON WET ROADS THEN BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND GOT VERY SOFT. CAR WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN, HAD TO PULL OUT OF TRAFFIC LANES. ABS INDICATOR CAME ON. AFTER RESTARTING CAR BRAKES RECOVERED TO NORMAL HOWEVER ABS INDICATOR COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY.
AIR BAG CAME LOSE WHEN DRIVER THE CAR AND WE WERE IN MOTION. TOOK THE CAR BACK FEB 16 2016 TO THE DEALER AND THEY GLUE IT BACK DOWN. THIS WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND WE WERE NOT HAPPY.
APPROACHING A STOP SIGN ON A MORNING WITH SOME ICE ON THE ROADS, THE ABS ENGAGED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. ALL SUBSEQUENT BRAKING ATTEMPTS RESULT IN THE PEDAL GOING DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE YEARS WITH THIS CAR. DIFFERENT COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT NEVER SOLVED THE PROBLEM. IT TYPICALLY GOES AWAY ON ITS OWN EVENTUALLY. DOESN'T FEEL LIKE A SAFE SITUATION.
THE BRAKES ARE "SPONGY", SLOW TO STOP, GO TO FLOOR, ETC. THE PADS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, ROTORS/DRUMS SERVICED, FLUID CHECKED. ALL IS IN GOOD REPAIR BUT PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER DRIVING ON SURFACE STREETS OR INTERSTATES, ON DRY AND WET ROADS. IT'S BEEN A PROBLEM FOR ALMOST A YEAR. I WAS RECENTLY ADVISED THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT WHILE RESEARCHING THE COST OF THIS, I CAME ACROSS MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM, SPANNING SEVERAL MODEL YEARS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A FACTORY DEFECT THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY NEEDS TO ADDRESS AND ISSUE A RECALL ON. *TR

2013 WE HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT (92K MILES) IN AUGUST 2014 HAD TO TAKE BACK TO TRANSMISSION SHOP I HAD A PROBLEM WITH SHIFT SOLENOID STICKING THEY REPAIRED. IN 2015 BACK TO TRANSMISSION SHOP SAME PROBLEM. JANUARY 25, 2016 BACK TO TRANSMISSION SHOP SAME PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THESE TRANSMISSION. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PUT 2500.00 FOR A REBUILT TRANSMISSION TWICE.. 65K MILES LATER IT IS BAD AGAIN. I DON'T DRIVE HILLS OR MOUNTAINS. I LIVE FLAT LAND AND I DRIVE A LOT OF HWY MILES. THIS IS BULL!!!! I WENT TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY RECALLS ON IT AND THERE IS NOT BUT I SEE A WHOLE LOT OF COMPLAINTS. ALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. UPON YOUR REQUEST I CAN FORWARD THE PAPERWORK FOR THE REPAIRS ONCE MY CAR HAS BEEN DONE THIS WEEK. I WANT FORD TO STEP UP AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN R I WAS HOLDING ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL BECAUSE IT JERK SO HARD I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO SEND ME THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN FORD AND I HAVE OWNED SO MANY OF THEM OVER THE YEARS.

BRAKE PEDAL LOSES ALMOST ALL POWER WHEN BRAKING OVER SMALL BUMPS OR POT HOLES OR ON SLIPPERY SURFACES. FAULTY ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. HYDRAULIC VALVES GETS STUCK CAUSING THE ISSUE TO OCCUR. CAN LOSE COMPLETE BRAKING POWER FOR DAYS TO WEEKS AT A TIME
AFTER ENGAGING THE ABS ON LIGHT SNOW, MY BRAKES BECAME SPONGY. COUPLE OF INCHES OF PLAY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL BEFORE IT WOULD ENGAGE
IN NOVEMBER 2015 I TOOK MY 2008 FORD FUSION TO A MECHANIC BECAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT SOFT. AS I RECALL, I HIT A REGULAR OLE POT HOLE AND THE BRAKES WERE NON-EXISTENT UNTIL I PUSHED THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC, HE SAID THERE WAS POWER STEERING IN MY MASTER CYLINDER, AND THAT I NEEDED MY MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED. I ALLOWED HIM TO DO SO AND THE BRAKES WERE WORKING PROPERLY AGAIN. IN DECEMBER OF 2015 I WAS PULLING INTO TED'S HOTDOGS AND THE PEDAL WENT SOFT, AGAIN. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SAME MECHANIC AND HE NOTICED THE SOFT PEDAL. AFTER BLEEDING OUT THE BRAKES THE BRAKES RETURNED TO WORKING PROPERLY. HE SAID HE SAW NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND CALLED IT, "WEIRD." WHEN I PICKED IT UP EVERYTHING WAS WORKING FINE. JANUARY 13TH, 2016 I WAS RETURNING HOME. THERE WAS SNOW ON THE GROUND AND I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN ONTO MY STREET. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT SOFT AGAIN. THIS MORNING MY MOTHER TOOK IT TO WORK AND SHE WAS FORCED TO RUN A RED LIGHT AT 5:30 AM BECAUSE SHE COULD NOT STOP BECAUSE THE PEDAL WAS SOFT. EVERY TIME THE PEDAL WENT SOFT, IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS MAKING A TURN. THE SPEEDS I WAS GOING AT WERE 40MPH, 35MPH AND 20MPH. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, I HAVE LEARNED THAT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER, BRAKES, ROTORS NOR CALIPERS, BUT HAS TO DO WITH THE ABS AND HCU.
LIGHT SNOW ON ROADS WHEN I APPROACHED A STOP SIGN. APPROACHED SLOWLY AND BEGAN TO LIGHTLY APPLY THE BRAKES. FELT/HEARD ABS ENGAGE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL LOST ALL RESISTANCE AND WENT TO THE FLOOR. BEGAN FRANTICLY PUMPING THE BRAKES AND, AFTER APPROXIMATELY 10 PUMPS, THEY RETURNED. PULLED AWAY FROM INTERSECTION AND LIGHTLY APPLIED BRAKES ON A DRY AREA OF PAVEMENT; SAME RESULT AS ABOVE. ABS INDICATOR LIGHT IS NOT ON. IMMEDIATELY TOOK VEHICLE TO A REPAIR FACILITY (PUMPING MY LEG OFF EVERY TIME I HAD TO DECREASE SPEED) AND THEY FOUND NO ISSUE. STATED THE PROBLEM IS LIKELY WITH THE ABS HCU (AS THEY HAD SEEN THE SAME ISSUE OCCUR ON A LINCOLN MKS). PEDAL RESTORED TO NORMAL WHILE TRAVELING HOME FROM SHOP.**UPDATED 9/28/16 TWO DAYS AFTER I REPORTED THE ORIGINAL INCIDENT, I WAS DRIVING MY MORNING COMMUTE AND BEGAN TO BRAKE AS I APPROACHED A BUSY INTERSECTION (THREE DIRECTIONS OF TRAFFIC BUT ONLY 1 DIRECTION HAS TO STOP). VERY SMALL SPOTS OF UNMELTED SNOW WERE PRESENT ON THE ROAD AND AGAIN, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I ALSO WENT BEYOND MY DESIRED STOPPING POINT ON THIS OCCASION, AS WELL. IN FACT, THE VEHICLE ONLY STOPPED BECAUSE I WRECKED INTO THE BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS WAITING TO TURN.*SMCH
WHILE TRYING TO STOP THE CAR WHILE IN MOTION, THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES DOWN ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, AND IT TAKES LONGER THAN IT SHOULD TO STOP THE CAR. FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AFTER STARTING TO PRESS THE BRAKE, IT SEEMS LIKE THE CAR WILL NOT STOP EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKE IS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR. I'VE ALMOST BEEN IN SEVERAL WRECKS AND HAVE ONLY AVOIDED THEM BY PRESSING MY BRAKES WELL BEFORE I HAVE NEEDED TO THE POINT OF TRYING TO STOP AT GREEN LIGHTS JUST IN CASE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 3 DIFFERENT FORD DEALERSHIPS TO TRY AND FIX THE BREAKS TO THE POINT WHERE THE BRAKE BOOSTER, CALIPER, AND BRAKE MODULE HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED YET THE BRAKES STILL DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. I HOPE THAT THIS PROBLEM CAN BE RESOLVED BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED BECAUSE HE OR SHE WAS UNABLE TO STOP HIS OR HER CAR DUE TO THE FAULTY BREAKS.

MY CAR HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. I, AND MANY OTHERS, HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH FORD FUSION BRAKE PROBLEMS AFTER AN ABS EVENT (AS IT IS REFERRED TO). THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND WHEN BRAKING AND HITTING A PATCH OF ICE, FOR EXAMPLE, THE ABS ACTIVATE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE BRAKES DO NOT RETURN TO NORMAL IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE THE ABS PUMP VALVES GET STUCK AND THE BRAKE FLUID CIRCULATES. IT TAKES TIME TO COME BACK TO NORMAL WHICH IS NOT A NORMAL THING. WE BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND THAT THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE PUMP/CONTROL MODULE SHOULD BE RECALLED. IF YOU WERE TO GOOGLE SEARCH FORD FUSION BRAKE PROBLEMS AND OR SOFT BRAKE PEDALS, ETC (REGARDING THE FUSION) YOU WILL FIND A LOT OF INFORMATION. I RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG AND I CONTACT THE FORD DEALEAR BUT THEY SAY THAT THE PARTS FOR AIRBAG IS NOT IN AND THIS WAS LAST YEAR 2016 AND I AM STILL WAITING SO WILL BE 2017.
THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS BULGING OUT WHERE THE AIRBAG IS. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID AIRBAG IS AT RISK FOR DEPLOYING, BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT IS BULGING... IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE YOU CAN TELL AIRBAG IS PUSHING ON THE DASH. WE HAVE TRIED FIXING IT BUT ITS THE BULGING AIRBAG THAT IS THE ISSUE NOT THE DASH ITSELF. I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND THAT OTHER PEOLE ARE ALSO HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR AIRBAG. PLEASE RECALL, BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.
AFTER AN ABS EVEN THE BRAKES BECOME SPONGY OR EVEN NON-EXISTANT. 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS SAY NO PROBLEMS. THIS ISSUE HAS NEARLY CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS AS THE BRAKES ARE INCONSISTENT. ON-LINE SEVERAL PEOPLE POINT TO A FAILURE OF THE HBU. I JUST NEED TO KNOW IF THIS IS IT. I CAN NOT KEEP THROWING MONEY AT THIS ISSUE. DASH ON PASSENGER SIDE IS PULLING AWAY FROM AIR BAG, WAS SO BAD YOU COULD SEE THE FOAM UNDERNEATH. NO RECALL DEALER WILL NOT FIX, I REFUSE TO PURCHASE A WHOLE NEW DASH. USED GORILLA GLUE TO HOLD IT DOWN, WITH THE HEAT UP HERE IN FAR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA IT'S STARTING TO PULL AWAY AGAIN. ALSO DUE TO THE HEAT UP HERE THE DEFROSTER VENT HAS BROKEN AND POPPED OUT OF THE DASH. USING GLUE TO HOLD IT IN PLACE AS WELL.
WHEN BRAKING ON ICY,WET, OR SNOWY ROADS THE BRAKES WORK THE FIRST TIME BUT THEN WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO BRAKE AGAIN THE BRAKE PEDAL HITS THE FLOOR AND YOU LOOSE BRAKE PRESSURE. IN ORDER TO REGAIN BRAKE PRESSURE YOU HAVE TO PUMP THE BRAKES HARD OR SLAM ON THEM A FEW TIMES FOR THE BRAKES TO BEGIN WORKING AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5X LAST WINTER. WE CALLED SEVERAL FORD DEALERS TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM AND WERE TOLD THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF IT. AFTER FEARING FOR OUR SAFETY WE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND MANY OTHER FUSION OWNERS REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAD SUCCESS FIXING THIS PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE ABS. WE TOOK OUR CAR TO A DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO CONFIRM THE PROBLEM. WE WENT WITH OUR GUT AND HAD THE ABS REPLACED. WE PAID OUT OF POCKET ABOUT 2,000 FOR THIS REPAIR.

HAD INSTANCE TO HIT BREAKS WHEN SLIDING ON ICE. CAR STOPPED AND ABS WAS WORKING. AFTERWORDS, PEDAL DEPRESSED TO FLOOR. I COULD STOP BY PUMPING THEM, BUT THOUGHT THEY HAD SUFFURED FAILURE. MECHANIC I TOOK THE CAR TO, SAID HE RESET COMPUTER CODE, FOUND AIR IN LINE, AND THEY WORKED FINE FOR OVER A YEAR. LAST MONTH, THEY DID THE SAME THING. THIS TIME OVER THE COURSE OF A COUPLE OF DAYS WHILE WERE AWAY FROM HOME, WE STOPPED VERY CAREFULLY. THEY DID SEEM TO CORRECT THEMSELVES OVER THE COURSE OF TIME. RETURNED TO MECHANIC, WHO WENT ONLINE TO TRY AND FIND REASON FOR PROBLEM, AFTER FINDING NO OTHER PROBLEM WITH SYSTEM, BELIEVES THAT THE FAULT LIES IN THE ABS MODULE. THESE INCIDENTS ALL HAPPENED DURING EXTREME BRAKING PROCEEDURES.
