This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2008 Ford Fusion. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
NHTSA source checks for this vehicle year
Checks are recorded separately for each dataset, not for the whole page. Dates use UTC. A missing check date does not mean no records exist.

BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. DRIVING ON THE STREET ABOUT 25-30 MILES PER HOUR WHEN BRAKE WAS PRESSED AND IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO WARNING OR LIGHTS POPPING UP. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED IT WITH THE NEED FOR THE MASTER CYLINDER TO BE REPLACED, CALIPERS SERVICED AND SYSTEM BLEED. THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND I LEFT WITH AN UNSAFE VEHICLE AND WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD SON IN THE VEHICLE. TOOK THE CAR BACK AND AFTER 5 DAYS THEY TOLD US THAT WE NEED A NEW HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. THE COST FOR THE REPAIRS IS OVER $2000. MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE SINCE THERE ARE OTHER CUSTOMERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY HAVE THE EXACT SAME VEHICLE. A RECALL IS NEEDED FOR THIS ISSUED SINCE IT'S UNSAFE AND SOMEONE CAN GET HURT WITHOUT ANY SIGNS. MANUFACTURER IS NOT TAKING ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIRS SINCE THERE ARE NO OPEN RECALLS OR WARRANTIES.
TAKATA RECALL WE CANT SELL THE CAR WITH THIS PROBLEM AND THE PASSANGER IS AFRAID TO BE IN IT.
