MY WIFE REAR ENDED SOMEONE. SHE WAS UNABLE TO STOP. LUCKILY NOBODY WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED. WE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE BRAKES TO FORD FOR TWO YEARS. ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO FORD FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE WHICH IS BELOW. THE MECHANIC AT FORD IN PETALUMA, CA SAID OUR CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE BUT THEY ARE STILLLLLLLLLLLL WAITING ON PARTS. IT WAS PROMISED 1ST QTR OF 2020 BUT THAT HAS PASSED. I AM CONFIDENT THE ACCIDENT WOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN PLACE IF THE BRAKES WORKED AS THEY SHOULD. "SAFETY RISK THIS MAY RESULT IN EXTENDED BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL REQUIRED TO STOP THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. THE CONDITION DOES NOT RESULT IN A LOSS OF BRAKING FUNCTION AND THE VEHICLE CAN BE BROUGHT TO A CONTROLLED STOP. *TR

THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET READILY AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET MY AIRBAG RECALL FIXED ON MY FORD FUSION I TOOK MY CAR TO THE APPOINTMENT WAS IN THERE FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO AN HOUR THEY CAME BACK TO ME TOLD ME THEY CANNOT COMPLETE MY RECALL I HAD ASKED WHY THEY SAID BECAUSE THERE IS AIRBAG BOLTS MISSING AND WE CANNOT COMPLETE THE RECALL UNTIL WE HAVE THOSE BOLTS SO I WAS WANTING TO KNOW THAT IS IT POSSIBLE TO REGISTER A CAR IN PENNSYLVANIANIA WITH A FAULTY AIRBAG SYSTEM IN IT BECAUSE THE PARTS ARE MISSING WHICH WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A NONREPAIRED SYSTEM THE VEHICLE DOES HAVE AN R TITLE
THE BRAKES ON MY 2008 FORD FUSION ONCE AGAIN NEARLY FAILED AFTER ACTIVATION OF THE ABS AND GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH. THIS IS THE PROBLEM REPORTED WITH RECALL/NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 19V904. I KNOW THIS IS THE CASE SINCE THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED ON MY CAR. I HAVE PAID FOR THE LAST TWO REPLACEMENTS WITH ONE BEING A FULL REPLACEMENT AT A FORD DEALER OF AROUND ~$600 AND ANOTHER THAT WAS ABLE TO BE REMEDIED BY BLEEDING THE BRAKE LINES UNTIL THE HYDRAULIC VALVE RESET. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THE NHTSA ONLY HAS 15 COMPLAINTS OF THIS, BUT I GUESS THAT IS THE CASE WHEN YOU HAVE AN OBSCURE REPORTING PROCEDURE. I AM ABLE TO FIND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS WITH A SIMPLE SEARCH. I AM GLAD THIS HAS FINALLY BEEN RECALLED, BUT NOW WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR FORD TO DRAG THEIR FEET ON SAYING PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. IT IS A SHAME THAT THE NHTSA MAKES YOU ENTER ALL OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IN ORDER TO FILE A COMPLAINT. PERHAPS YOU ALL SHOULD LOOK INTO ANONYMOUS REPORTING.

BELL FORD LOCATED AT 1200 NJ-27, COLONIA, NJ 07067 AND MALOUF FORD - LINCOLN, INC. 2210 US-1, NORTH BRUNSWICK TOWNSHIP, NJ 08902, WERE BOTH CONTACTED AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,348. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE FILED ONE REPORT ALREADY ABOUT THE BRAKES. WANTED TO INFORM YOU THAT THE BRAKES ARE CURRENTLY OUT AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL LETTER. WE HAVE ZERO BRAKES AND HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO BE ABLE TO SLOW DOWN. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY HAVENT LOOKED AT IT BC THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT PART WHICH LEAVES US IN LIMBO. WE FOUND THE BRAKES WE NOT WORKING WHILE DRIVING AND TRYING TO SLOW DOWN. PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR DID NOT SLOW THE CAR DOWN WITHOUT USING THE E-BRAKE. THERE WAS NO WARNING.
RECEIVED RECALL ON ABS SYSTEM, VALVE STICKING OPEN. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER THE CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT, BRAKES LOCKED UP AND ABC DID NOT SEEM TO FUNCTION. NOW BRAKES HAVE A LOT OF TRAVEL AND UNSURE IF CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE. FORD SAID THEY WILL NOT HAVE THE PARTS UNTIL END OF FIRST QUARTER. * (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS
I RECIEVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL THAT THE CAR WAS BEING RECALLED. WHAT I HAVE NOTICED WHEN I STEPED ON THE BRAKE, IT WOULD MAKE A RUMBLING NOIE, OR VIBERATION. THATS ABOUT IT. I DID STOP AT ONE OF THE FORD DEALERS TO HAVE IT CHECKED BUT THEY WERE SO BUSY , I NEEDED TO GET HOME. VECHILE WAS IN MOTION,CITY STREETS & HIGHWAYS & I WAS BRAKING THE CAR TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP. THAT IS IT.. I CAN'T GIVE YOU A DATE, BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR TILL I RECIEVED THE RECALL PROBABLY SOMETIME IN 2019!

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD (#19S54 / NHTSA #19V-904) REGARDING THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT / ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM. AFTER AN ANTI-LOCK BRAKE INCIDENT, THE BRAKE PEDAL REQUIRES ADDITIONAL DISTANCE TO START BRAKING AND IT TAKES LONGER TO STOP. THIS HAS ALREADY HAPPENED TWICE IN THE PAST, AND I AM CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE AFTER THE ABS ACTIVATED WHILE TRYING TO STOP ON ICE. PREVIOUSLY I TOOK MY CAR TO A MECHANIC WHO WAS ABLE TO TEMPORARILY RESTORE FULL BRAKE FUNCTION, BUT THIS TIME THAT TEMPORARY FIX DIDN'T WORK. I LIVE IN WISCONSIN (WINTER TIME) AND IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THIS CAR WITH THE LIMITED BRAKE FUNCTION, ESPECIALLY IF I NEED TO STOP QUICKLY TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO WORK WITH FORD VIA THEIR CUSTOMER CARE LINE CALL CENTER OUTSIDE OF THE U.S., BUT THEY HAVE BEEN UNHELPFUL AS THE RECALL IS IN THE "ADVANCE NOTICE PERIOD". THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID I NEEDED TO HAVE A FORD DEALER DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE TO ENSURE IT WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL. I DID THIS AND THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT IT MATCHED THE RECALL. THEY CONTACTED FORD CORPORATE TO DETERMINE THE NEXT ACTION, AND FORD STATED THAT THE FIX AND PARTS FOR IT ARE UNAVAILABLE UNTIL LATE 1ST QUARTER 2020. FORD SUGGESTED THAT THE DEALER COMPLETE AN ADVANCED DIAGNOSIS PROCESS TO DETERMINE THE ISSUE, AT A COST OF $300 TO ME. I AM UNWILLING TO DO THIS, AS THERE IS NO STEP TOWARDS FIXING THIS AFTER SPENDING THE $300, AND FORD MAY NOT REIMBURSE THIS COST. THE DEALER CANNOT HELP, UNLESS I CHOOSE TO SPEND MY OWN MONEY AND HOPE THAT FORD WILL REIMBURSE ME FOR THE COSTS. FORD CALL CENTER MANAGERS HAVE BEEN UNWILLING TO HELP AS WELL. I HAVE NOW BEEN WITHOUT A CAR FOR 2 WEEKS, AND IT APPEARS I MAY BE UNTIL MARCH. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, AND FORD'S UNWILLINGNESS TO ACT ON THIS SAFETY ISSUE IS APPALLING. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO HELP GET MY CAR SAFELY BACK ON THE ROAD SOONER?
EXTENDED BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS TO BE PRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO STOP. THIS HAPPENS ON AND OFF WITHOUT WARNING. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. NO PART AVAILABLE TO REPLACE IT. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED US TO CALL FORD CUSTOMER CARE TO SEE IF SINCE WE ARE EXPERIENCING THE DESCRIBED RECALL ISSUE THEY MAY PUT US IN A RENTAL. CALLED AND SPOKE TO A REP SEVERAL DAYS IN A ROW. ASKED FOR A SUPERVISOR TO CALL US BACK AND THEY SAY THEY WILL BUT DONT. RECALL SAYS IT RAISES RISK OF ACCIDENT. SINCE THE PART IN THE RECALL STICKS WITHOUT NOTICE WE ARE CONCERNED PUTTING OUR FAMILY IN IT. HOWEVER IT IS OUR VEHICLE OF TRANSPORTATION. WE ARE EXPERIENCING THE DESCRIBED ISSUE THAT IS STATED IN THE RECALL. THE BRAKES WORK FINE ONE DAY AND THE NEXT THEY DONT. WE DONT KNOW UNTIL THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. THATS ALARMING. THIS HAPPENS AT ANY TIME AND ANY WHERE WITHOUT WARNING.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal however, the brake pedal went straight to the floorboard. The vehicle failed to slow down which caused the contact to move to a different lane to avoid hitting the vehicle in front. The contact pumped the brake pedal for the vehicle to eventually slow down and stop. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and checked the brake fluid reservoir, and the reservoir was full. The contact pumped the brake pedal several times for the brake pedal to go back to normal. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanic flushed the braking system however, the failure persisted. The contact was informed that failure was like NHTSA campaign number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 157,000.

THE ISSUE RECURRED AGAIN WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE STOPPING SUDDENLY IN FRONT AND THE CONTACT'S BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN GOING ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND A REAR END COLLISION HAPPENING. THE OTHER VEHICLE'S PASSENGER WAS INJURED AND TRANSPORTED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM BY AMBULANCE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WILL PROBABLY BE TOTALED AND THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG DID DEPLOY PROPERLY. ALMOST ALL OF THE DAMAGE WAS TO THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REVIEWED THE REPAIRS AND VERIFIED THE REPAIRS WERE DONE PROPERLY. THE CONTACT HAD RESEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THERE WERE A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ABS SYSTEM WITH THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT MALFUNCTIONING BY NOT PROVIDING AN IMMEDIATE STOP. The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the dealer informed the contact that the parts for the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed and went all the way to the floorboard. The contact stated that the brake pedal hesitated to respond, causing a 6-8 feet stopping distance delay. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that she would be contacted once the parts were available. The contact received another recall notification from the manufacturer that the parts were available and she contacted the dealer. The dealer informed the contact that they would need to order the parts. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the parts were available. A case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
I A MAIL RELATED TO AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL. THERE IS A VALVE IN THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT OF THE ANTI-LOCKING BRAKING SYSTEM THAT IS STUCK OPEN. AND THIS PROBLEM IS MORE NOTICEABLE DURING A RAINY DAY OR WINTER PERIODS. I REALLY HAVE TO DRIVE VERY VERY SLOWLY FOR THE BRAKES TO OPERATE WELL. I ALSO PLANNED TO SELL OFF THE CAR BUT BECAUSE OF THE CONDITION I DID NOT WANT TO RISK LIFE FOR SOMEONE ELSE. BEFORE THE SAFETY RECALL MAIL I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MECHANICS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM THEY FAILED BECAUSE THEY DID NOT KNOW WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS. BUT NOW THAT I KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND FORD COMPANY HAD PROMISED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM BY THE END OF THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2020 BUT NOW WE ARE ALMOST IN THE LAST QUARTER OF 2020, I DON'T KNOW IF THEY GAVE UP ON THEIR PROMISE.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD IN JANUARY 2020, AND A NOTICE FROM FORD THAT PARTS WERE EXPECTED IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2020. IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER A YEAR AND NO PARTS AVAILABLE. THIS IS A 2008 VEHICLE, HOW MANY CAN THERE BE, THAT PARTS AREN'T AVAILABLE?

THANKFULLY AND FORTUNATELY OR I WOULDN'T BE HERE TO SEND THIS "INCIDENT INFORMATION", MY BRAKES DID NOT FAIL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I WAS TRAVELING ON CITY STREETS AT 30-35 MPH WHEN THEY FAILED. THE CAR WAS TOTALED AND ON JANUARY 23RD, 2020 WE RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 19S54/NHTSA RECALL 19V-904. HAD WE RECEIVED THIS NOTICE BEFORE 12/27/19 WE BELIEVE REPAIRS WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THE ACCIDENT AND THE CAR WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SOLD FOR PARTS.
I TOOK MY FUSION IN FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL. THE AIRBAG WAS REPLACED AND NOW THE DASH IS SLIGHTLY RAISED UP AND LOOKS LIKE THE AIRBAG IS GOING TO BLOW OUT OF IT ANYTIME. NOW THE AIRBAG LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS TURNING ON AND OFF RANDOMLY. I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO REPLACED THE AIRBAG AND THEY SAY THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT THEY DID. SO NOW I DO NOT KNOW IF MY CAR IS SAFE OR NOT TO BE DRIVING.

THIS NEW COMPLAINT IS BECAUSE THE RECALL WAS MADE ON DECEMBER 18TH OF 2019 AND NOW OVER A YEAR LATER FORD HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO A FORD DEALER ON 01/08/21 AND THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE HCU UNIT IS DEFECTIVE BUT THEY TOLD ME FORD DOESN'T HAVE THE PART AND DOESN'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO REPLACE IT. THIS IS OVER A YEAR AFTER IT WAS RECALLED. I'M SURE FORD HAS BUILT A LOT OF CARS AND TRUCKS IN THE LAST YEAR AND HAS SOLD A LOT OF PARTS SO IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT THEY CANNOT GET THIS PART. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR IF THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE ENGAGES AND MOST OF THE TIME I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND PUMP THE PEDAL TO GET IT BACK TO WHERE IT SHOULD ENGAGE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED , I HAD BOTH CALIPERS REPLACED, BOTH REAR STRUTS REPLACED. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN LOCKING UP WHEN THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE IS ENGAGED. I HAVE TAKEN TO TWO REPAIR SHOPS AND THEY HAVE NOT FOUND ANY CODES OR REASONS . WHY WOULD THIS BE HAPPENING, IS IT RELATED TO THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNITS RECALL?
I NOTICED THAT I WAS HAVING TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL LOWER AND LOWER FOR MY CAR TO STOP. I TOOK MY CAR TO DUNN TIRE FOR MY SIX MONTH TIRE ROTATION AND ASKED THEM IF THEY WOULD CHECK MY BRAKES BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM MENTIONED. THEY ROTATED THE TIRES BUT SAID MY CAR WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE OF THE BRAKES. I HAD TO LEAVE IT THERE AND THEY GOT ME A RIDE HOME. THEY SAID THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED SO THEY HAD MY CAR FROM FRIDAY TO MONDAY. I WAS NOT EXPECTING TO HAVE TO PAY $499.69, BUT DID SO THAT I COULD GET MY CAR BACK. WHEN I RETURNED FOR MY CAR I WAS TOLD ME THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS LEAKING FLUID. THEY REPLACED THE CYLINDER AND PERFORMED THE PROCEDURE MULTIPLE TIMES TO BLEED THE BRAKE SYSTEM. PEDAL IS BETTER AND VEHICLE STOPS, BUT IS STILL NOT AS HARD AS IS SHOULD/COULD BE. THEY RECOMMENDED TAKING CAR TO DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS INTO THE ABS MODULE OR BOOSTER. WHEN THEY TOLD ME THE APPROXIMATE COST, I COULD NOT DO IT AS I AM ON A FIXED INCOME. I HEARD ABOUT THE RECALL THE OTHER DAY ON TV AND WENT TO THIS SITE TO SEE IF MY CAR WAS AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. IT IS. I HAVE LIMITED MY DRIVING ESPECIALLY IN INCLEMENT WEATHER BECAUSE I'M AFRAID THERE MIGHT BE A BRAKING PROBLEM OR WORSE. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT MY BRAKES MIGHT GO OUT AT ANY TIME.
