TL* THE CONTACT OWN A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. KIRK AUTO COMPANY (235 STATE HWY 7 FRONTAGE RD, GRENADA, MS 38901) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT OCCASIONALLY WHILE DRIVING, THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE PUMPED SEVERAL TIMES OR THE PARKING BRAKE HAD TO BE ACTIVATED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING AND IMMEASURABLE AFTER AN ANTILOCK BRAKING INCIDENT, BRAKES BECOME VERY SOFT AND THERE IS A LOT MORE TRAVEL WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP. VEHICLE THEN TAKES LONGER AND A LOT MORE PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP VEHICLE.
CAR WAS PARKED. TURN THE CAR ON AND NO POWER STEERING. SUDDEN FAILURE. TOLD TO I HAVE TO GET A NEW RACK AND PINION WHICH IS OVER $2000. THE POWER STEERING CAME BACK ON AFTER THE BATTERY WAS UNPLUGGED OVER NIGHT. SAME PARTS AS THE RECALLED 2011 FORD FUSION. NOW I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR AND THE REPAIRS ARE ALMOST MORE THAN THE CAR IS WORTH. 88K MILES ON IT
IN DECEMBER OF 2018 WHILE CAR WAS IN MOTION; THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND WE RECEIVED THE ADVANCTRAC / SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW MESSAGE. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED REPLACED SO WE REPLACED THE RACK AND PINION. IN OCT; THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN WHILE DRIVING AND AFTER DIAGNOSIS; WE HAD THE RACK AND PINION CHANGED AGAIN. IN NOV.; THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. THIS TIME THE MECHANIC ACCIDENTALLY LEFT HIS SCANNER ON THE CAR OVER THE WEEKEND AND IT DRAINED THE BATTERY. WHEN THE MECHANIC CHARGED THE SYSTEM AND STARTED THE CAR; THE MESSAGE "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" WAS GONE AND THE POWER STEERING WAS BACK. IN DEC. THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. WE ONCE AGAIN HAD THE RACK AND PINION CHANGED. NOW IT IS JANUARY 24TH AND THE POWER STEERING IS GONE AGAIN. EACH TIME; THE DRIVER OF THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN LUCKY BECAUSE IT HAS HAPPENED AT LOW SPEEDS. IF THIS HAPPENED WHILE GOING AROUND A CURVE GREATER THAN 45 DEGREES; THIS DRIVER WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR. NOW ALL WE WANT TO DO IS GET RID OF THE CAR; UNFORTUNATELY, WE CANNOT KEEP THE POWER STEERING FROM GOING OUT AND I WILL NOT PASS THIS ISSUE ON TO SOMEONE ELSE.
POWER STEERING GOES OUT FOR NO REASON. IN MOTION. HAPPENED ONCE WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT. ANOTHER TIME 15 - 20 MPH. WHAT IF THIS HAPPENS AT HIGHER SPEEDS? DEALERSHIP WANTS MORE THAN $100 TO LOOK AT IT? MORE THAN $1400 TO REPLACE? THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE TO LOOK FOR SOME RECOURSE AND I WAS READ A STANDARD DOCUMENT ABOUT IT BEING THE CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE WAS INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR HANDLES WERE REPLACED BY FORD OF MONROEVILLE, 3696 WILLIAM PENN. HWY, MONROEVILLE, PA 15146 N FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,479.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS REVERSED INTO THE DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHENOWETH FORD INC DEALER, (1564 E PIKE ST, CLARKSBURG, WV 26301) AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIR DUE TO THE REPAIR COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 153,701.
MY SERVICE ADVANCETRAC MESSAGE CAME UP ON MY DISPLAY WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THEN AS I WAS LEAVING EHERE I WAS I STARTED MY CAR AND THE SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW CAME UP ON MY DISPLAY, IT ALSO HAD A TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT MESSAGE. I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND IT WON'T RESET. I HAVE UNHOOKED THE BATTERY TERMINALS, TAKEN IT AND HAD ALL THE CODES RESET. THE DASH WAS CLEAR FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES BUT I STILL HAD NO POWER STEERING. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2011 AND 2012 FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUES IM HAVING.
I HAVE A 2010 FORD FUSION APPROX 110,000 MILES ON IT. LATELY WHEN I TURN THE KEY ON I AM RECEIVING A "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" MESSAGE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I CAN NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL. IT IS COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. I CAN TURN THE KEY OFF AND BACK ON AND THE FAULT MESSAGE IS NOT THERE. IT IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT NOW. I HAVE READ ON CONSUMER REPORTS THAT THERE HAS BEEN LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS MATTER. A FEW CASES OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THIS WILL BE A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR, ESTIMATED AT $1800. I HAVE ALSO READ THERE WAS AN INVESTIGATION WHICH RESULTED IN A RECALL BUT MY VIN IS NOT ON THAT LIST. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH FORD AND WAS GIVEN A REFERENCE # CAS-25441897-N4L7N3. I FEEL FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ISSUE ON MY VEHICLE AS WELL.
FROM 6/2019 UNTIL 1/2020, INTERMITTENT AND SIGNIFICANT BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL WOULD OCCUR AFTER AN ABS EVENT, SUCH AS LOSS OF TRACTION DUE TO ROUGH ROAD (E.G. GRAVEL, POT-HOLE). THIS WOULD HAPPEN WHILE BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR COMING TO A STOP IN THE CITY. BRAKING WAS SEVERELY REDUCED AFTER EVENT WITH GRADUAL IMPROVEMENT AFTER PUMPING THE BRAKE PEDAL. DURING A SNOWSTORM IN 1/2020, FREQUENT ABS EVENTS OCCURRED DUE TO LOSS OF TRACTION, AND THE ISSUE TRANSITIONED FROM BEING INTERMITTENT TO CONSTANT. EXCESSIVE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL WAS CONSTANT AT ALL SPEEDS (IN PARK, CITY, HIGHWAY) AND THE ISSUE WAS DIAGNOSED BY DEALER AS A FAILURE OF THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU). DEALER RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF HCU AND FLUSH OF BRAKE FLUID WITH REPLACEMENT OF DOT4 FLUID AT VEHICLE OWNER'S EXPENSE. THIS ISSUE, WITH THE SAME REPAIR PLAN, WAS FOUND BY THE VEHICLE OWNER TO BE ADDRESSED UNDER A RECALL FOR 2006-2010 MODEL YEAR FORD FUSIONS (19S54); HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE OWNER'S 2010 FORD FUSION WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. FROM THE OWNER'S EXPERIENCE, IT IS CLEAR THAT THE ISSUE ADDRESSED IN THE RECENT RECALL MUST BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE MORE VEHICLES, SUCH AS THE OWNER'S VEHICLE
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH IS BROKEN AND IS NOT LATCHING WHICH MEANS THE DOOR IS NOT CLOSING. I DISCOVERED THIS WHEN PARKING MY CAR, EXITING LIKE I HAVE DONE THE ENTIRE TIME I'VE HAD MY CAR, COMING BACK, OPENING THE DOOR, AND GOING TO CLOSE IT AND IT NOT LATCHING. I THOUGHT SOMETHING WAS IN THE DOOR FRAME PREVENTING IT FROM CLOSING BUT UPON LOOKING CLOSELY, THE LATCH IS FREELY MOVING AND NOT LOCKING WITH THE DOOR FRAME. I LOOKED THIS ISSUE UP TO SEE IF IT WAS AN EASY FIX (WHICH IT IS NOT) AND THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER FORD RECALLS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE WHICH MY CAR IS NOT COVERED UNDER. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN MULTIPLE OTHER FORD CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE WITH ALL DIFFERENT MAKES AND MODELS THAT HAVE THAT ALSO WERE NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT MANY FORD OWNERS ARE DEALING WITH BUT ONLY SELECT FEW MAKES AND MODELS WERE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. NOW I HAVE TO BRING MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND PAY A HUGE BILL TO GET THIS FIXED EVEN THOUGH THIS SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED AND IT WAS NOTHING I DID. I DON'T HAVE MANY ISSUES WITH MY FORD, WHICH I CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY FOR. BUT THIS HAZARDOUS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. I SPOKE WITH FORD AND THEY SAID THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME SINCE I'M NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL.
MY POWER STEERING WHEN OUT IN A CURVE. NO WARNING AT ALL!! I HAD MY MOTHER AND MY 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR AT THE TIME. I SLID OFF THE ROAD AND MESSED UP MY CAR AND HURT ME AND MY MOTHER. MY DAUGHTER THANK GOD WAS NOT HURT THANKS TO HER CAR SEAT. FORD TOLD ME THIS WAS MY PROBLEM! WHY IS THIS CAR NOT RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM?
FORD HAS SENT "SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 19S54/NHTSA RECALL 19V-904" IN JANUARY 2020 AND AGAIN IN OCTOBER 2020. THEIR JANUARY 2020 NOTICE SAID THAT THEY WOULD HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THIS BRAKE PROBLEM BY "LATE FIRST QUARTER 2020". TO DATE, AND AFTER SEVERAL INQUIRIES ABOUT THIS RECALL NOTICE, FORD HAS YET TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. AFTER TALKING WITH THE SELLING DEALER, I HAVE CALLED FORD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER. THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO FURTHER INFORMATION ON THIS NOTICE. PLEASE DO WHAT YOU CAN TO GET FORD TO CORRECT THIS SEEMINGLY DANGEROUS BRAKE PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE POWER STEERING AND THE TRACTION CONTROL FAILED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A DITCH. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A POLE COMING TO A STOP AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MAINTENANCE SERVICE TRACK AND THE SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW WARNING MESSAGES ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE POLICE WERE NOTIFIED AND A REPORT WAS FILED. NO MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED AT THE SCENE, HOWEVER, THE MOTHER AND THE CONTACT SUFFERED FROM BACK PAIN AFTER THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND LATER TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DESTROYED; THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED OR TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED HER THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON HER VEHICLE NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 19V001000 (AIR BAGS) .THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188,000.
I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE HARD AND THE ABS ENGAGED. AFTER THAT, IT WAS LIKE MY BRAKES WERE ALMOST GONE. THEY ALMOST WENT TO THE FLOOR. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. SOMETIMES IT STAYS LIKE THAT FOR MANY DAYS. OTHER TIMES THE BRAKES COME BACK AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED, A WEEK AGO, THE BRAKES NEVER FULLY CAME BACK. THEY ARE STILL 75% -80% GONE AFTER I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE HARD. I WAS IN MOTION BOTH ON A CITY STREET AND ON A HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I WAS NOT TURNING. I BELIEVE THIS IS RELATED TO THE RECALL THAT WAS JUST ISSUED: 19S54. HOWEVER, THIS RECALL DOES NOT SHOW UP UNDER MY VIN NUMBER. I CONTACTED FORD CORPORATE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL NOTICE BECAUSE THE BUILD DATE WAS OUTSIDE OF THE AFFECTED DATE RANGE. HOWEVER, I BELIEVE THE DATE IN THEIR SYSTEM MIGHT BE WRONG FOR MY VEHICLE AS IT SAYS THAT THE BUILD AND RELEASE DATE ARE THE SAME DATE. IN ADDITION, I HAVE A COUPLE OF THE INVOICE THE DEALERSHIP GAVE ME FOR MY CAR. THE DATE ON THE INVOICE IS BEFORE THE BUILD DATE FORD HAS IN THEIR DATABASE. PLEASE HELP!
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND A ADVANCE TRAC SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW POPPED ON MY DASHBOARD. I KNOW THERE IS A RECALL ON 2011'S. WHY IS IT NOT ONE ON THE 2010'S KNOWING THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS VERY EXPENSIVE PROBLEM MANY TIMES BEFORE. AND ALSO KNOWING THAT THE THROTTLE BODY COULD BE THE REASON THIS IS HAPPENING. MY THROTTLE BODY HAS ALSO WENT AND FORD REFUSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WE THE CONSUMERS NEED ANSWERS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT FROM THIS PROBLEM.
RECALL: 19S54 IS ONLY ALLOWING FUSIONS MANUFACTURED UP TO 07/09. MY FUSION WAS MADE IN SEPT. AT THE MEXICO PLANT. VEHICLE EXHIBITS EXACT SYMPTOMS AND IS CURRENTLY EXHIBITING THEM. SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. LAST YEAR HAD ABS EVENT AND PEDAL TRAVELED FURTHER. VALVE BECAME UNSTUCK BY ITSELF AND WAS FINE UNTIL THE OTHER DAY WHEN ANOTHER ABS EVENT OCCURRED AND PEDAL IS TRAVELING FURTHER NOW. LATEST EVENT, WAS TRAVELING DOWN SLIGHT HILL ON A SNOWY ROAD AND NEEDED TO STOP. IT WAS A LONG ABS EVENT. AFTER COMING TO COMPLETE STOP, WAITED A MINUTE OR SO AND BEGAN TRAVELING WITH TRAFFIC AGAIN. WENT TO SLOW DOWN/STOP AGAIN AND NOTICED PEDAL IS TRAVELING FURTHER. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
WHEN OPERATING MY VEHICLE IT MAKES AUDIBLE BREAKING SOUNDS. WHEN COMING TO A STOP YOU CAN HEAR THE SCREECHING OF BRAKES. IT WAS LIGHT, BUT IT SEEM'S LIKE IT'S GETTING LOUDER THOUGH. THIS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING IN TOWN ON THE STREETS.
THE EV SYSTEM IS NO LONGER WORKING. THE HYBRID BATTERY IS HEALTHY AND THE OWNERS MANUAL STATES IT IS EXPECTED TO LAST THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE. MANY OTHERS HAVE NOTED THIS ISSUE AS THE BATTERY "AGING OUT" AS PROGRAMMED BY FORD. A SUGGESTED REMEDY IS TO RESET THE BATTERY TO AGE >0;<10. WITHOUT THIS RESET, THE HYBRID RUNS ON ONLY THE GAS MOTOR. AT TIMES, THIS DELAYS ACCELERATION BOTH FORWARDS AND BACKWARDS AS THE GAS MOTOR (ICE) STARTS BACK UP AFTER STOP. THIS HESITATION CAN EASILY CAUSE A WRECK WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC FROM A STOP.
'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT' THIS SHOWED UP ON MY SCREEN AS I WAS DRIVING AND THEN IT SLOWED ME DOWN TO A COMPLETE STOP. THEN AFTER A FEW WEEKS MY POWER STEERING WHEEL WENT OUT AND NOW IT SAYS 'SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW'
AFTER MUCH RESEARCH I HAVE DETERMINED THE THROTTLE BODY IS FAILING TO FUNCTION PROPERLY IN THIS CAR. THIS PART HAS BEEN RECALLED ON NON HYBRID MODELS BUT NOT HYBRID MODELS, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE IDENTICAL PARTS.
the inside door handle broke was unable to open the door, the inside door assembly was broken also... drivers side also the window door motors malfunctioned window would go up and down not knowing what direction and also change directions disallowing window to be opened or closed
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport. The contact stated while driving at slow speeds, the brake pedal was applied but was soft and depressed to the floorboard. The vehicle was slow to stop when the brake pedal was applied. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed the rotors were warped. The vehicle was repaired however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but no additional assistance was provided. The contact stated the failure was to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic)The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN THE FAST LANE ON THE HIGHWAY MY 2010 FORD FUSION SPORT OVERHEATED AND CUT OFF DUE TO A FAULTY HEAT PUMP WHICH RESULTED IN COOLANT LEAKING INTO IT AND WARPING MY ENGINE. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY OTHER INDICATOR THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE. I HAD EVEN JUST GOTTEN MY CAR "WINTER READY" WITH MY MECHANIC AND IN NOVEMBER.
STARTING VEHICLE, POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT DISPLAYED AND STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN. TURNED OFF IGNITION. WAITED A MINUTE AND RESTARTED. CONDITION DISAPPEARED. FEARFUL OF DRIVING VEHICLE AS I NOW READ THIS FAULT HAS OCCURRED TO OTHERS WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT EXCELEREATED SPEEDS. I CAN DEFINITELY SEE THIS COULD BE A DEADLY SITUATION IF IT OCCURS AGAIN WHILE IN MOTION. ALSO SEE OTHER YEARS OF FUSIONS RECALLED FOR THIS FAULT. IT IS CONCERNING THIS 2010 ISN'T ON A RECALL FOR THIS FAULT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD TO APPLY MORE PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL THAN USUAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO STOP AT A LOWER SPEED THAN THE AMOUNT OF FORCE THAT WAS NEEDED TO APPLY THE BRAKES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT OF A FUTURE RECALL REGARDING THE BRAKES. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, WHEN I WENT TO TURN IT ON IT HAD A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. ENDED UP HAVING TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHO ARE WORKING ON IT RIGHT NOW. TOTAL COST OF THE WORK IS ABOUT $1,800 AND LOOKING ONLINE IT'S OBVIOUS MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. WHEN I BROUGHT UP THE RECALL ON 2010 FORD FUSIONS (RECALL 15S18) I WAS TOLD THAT ONLY APPLIED TO CARS BUILT IN SEPTEMBER OF 2010 TO ANOTHER DATE, WHEN MINE WAS BUILD IN JUNE - MEANING IT DIDN'T QUALIFY. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THIS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BY FORD AS MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE.
CAME OUT FROM SHOPPING ON 12-26-19 WENT TO LEAVE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT CAME ON AND IT BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO STEER. TOOK TO MECHANIC TOLD ME ITS THE RACK PINION WHICH IS GOING TO COST OVER $2000 TO FIX . AND THEN I SEE ITS A KNOWN FORD PROBLEM. I DO SEE THAT THERE IS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION WITH SEVERAL COMPLAINTS
WITHING DRIVING LESS THAN 5 MINUTES, THE BRAKES BECAME NON-RESPONSIVE. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AND PRESSING ON THE BREAK PEDAL HARDER, WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO FINALLY COME TO A STOP. WE WERE DRIVING LESS THAN 40 MPH. WE HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD TO GET THE CAR TO SLOW DOWN. IT WAS TERRIFYING. HEARD THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT WHEN CONTACTING FORD THEY JUST GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER & HASN'T REACHED OUT TO ME SINCE EVEN THOUGH MY ISSUE WAS RECENT & THE RECALL WAS RECENT. AFTER THIS HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LACK OF RESPONSE, THIS WILL BE MY LAST FORD. THE REPAIRS COST US OVER ALMOST 2K.
AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT DISPLAYS AND STEERING IS "LOCKED" I.E. CAN NOT BE TURNED. CYCLED THE IGNITION A NUMBER OF TIMES AND EVENTUALLY THE STEERING FUNCTIONED. THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE. DEALER WANTS $1600 FOR THIS REPAIR.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER AFTER THE REPAIRS THE FAILURE REOCCURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING AND NEARLY CAUSED ME TO WRECK, SOMEHOW I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR OFF THE ROAD SAFELY. THE WARNING MESSAGE 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT' APPEARED ON THE DASH AND SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2010 FUSIONS AND OTHER MODELS. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF TWICE THE MESSAGE RESET AND POWER STEERING CAME BACK HOWEVER I'M SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR NOT KNOWING IF THIS ISSUE WILL POP UP WHEN I'M ON THE HIGHWAY AT A HIGH SPEED. LUCKILY I DIDN'T INJURE OR KILL MYSELF OR OTHERS THIS TIME.
FOR A SECOND TIME ON THIS CAR, THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE BROKE. I PAID FOR THE REPAIR THE FIRST TIME, BUT FORD SAYS THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED ON THIS 2ND HANDLE. I WAS DRIVING ON HWY 23 WHEN ALL OF SUDDEN THE DASH LIGHT CAME ON SAYING DEFAULT TRAC SERVICE SOON. THEN MY STEERING WENT OUT && IT WAS LIKE I HAD NO POWER STEERING. ABOUT 2 WEEKS PRIOR I HAD TO HAVE TYSON ROD ENDS PUT ON INSIDE & OUT AFTER JUST HAVING THEM REPLACED IN APRIL. MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON SAYING PASSENGER AIRBAG. A NOISE LIKE A RUBBING/SCRAPING NOISE EVERY TIME I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL THAT I'VE HAD THE CAR LOOKED AT SEVERAL TIMES.
VEHICLE IS A 2010 FUSION HYBRID. VEHICLE HESITATES FOR 1-3 SECONDS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THERE IS A DELAY BECAUSE OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE A FAILURE OF THE HYBRID DRIVE SYSTEM TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE POWER. I ALSO NOTICE THIS DURING ROUTINE DRIVING, ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT A SAFETY CONCERN THEN. THE HYBRID POWER SYSTEM HAS SIMPLY STOPPED PROVIDING THE ADDITIONAL POWER REQUIRED BY THE POWERTRAIN TO OPERATE PROPERLY. THIS IS PARTICULARLY PROBLEMATIC WHEN PULLING OUT OF A SIDE STREET ONTO A BUSY ROAD. THE CAR HAS ENOUGH POWER TO GET ME INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD BUT THEN HESITATES TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY FOR 2-3 SECONDS, PRESENTING A DANGER TO ME AND OTHER CARS. I AM LEARNING TO COMPENSATE FOR THIS DELAY BUT THIS IS SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND OTHER DRIVERS. CAR WAS IN DETACHED VERY COLD GARAGE, STARTED CAR. WHEN PUTTING IN REVERSE NOTICED A WARNING ON SCREEN STATING POWER STEERING FAILURE. AS I WAS BACKING OUT OF GARAGE I COULDN'T TURN THE STEERING WHEEL WITHOUT A GREAT DEAL OF DIFFICULTY. AFTER SPEAKING WITH A FRIEND DECIDED TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND RESTART. WHEN I DID SO, THE POWER STEERING WARNING WAS GONE AND I COULD TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR 5 MILES TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WORRYING THE ENTIRE WAY THAT IT WOULD GO OFF AGAIN. I'VE SINCE BEEN INFORMED BY FORD DEALERSHIP THAT THE ENTIRE POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

FISHERS IN) WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. NOW FORD IS TELLING ME I NEED NEW TIE RODS AND FRONT CONTROL ARM AND IF THAT DOESNT WORK THEY SAID I NEED TO REPLACE RACK AND PINION. EVERYTHING I READ ONLINE TELLS ME IM THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO A NUMBER OF PEOPLE WITH SAME VEHICLE.

AFTER 1 VISIT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND 1 VISIT TO A FORD SERVICE CENTER MOST RECENTLY IN DEC. 2019, THE MECHANICS COULD NOT FIND A CAUSE. I'VE SINCE READ ABOUT FORD RECALL 19S54 WHICH DESCRIBES MY SITUATION ALMOST EXACTLY. THIS IS NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000. I CALLED THE FORD DEALER ON 1/8/2021 AND WAS TOLD MY CAR IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL AND I CAN PAY FOR THE REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET IF I CHOOSE TO DO SO. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS BRAKE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR..FIRST @ 23,000 MILES BACK BRAKES FROZE UP ON ME, HAD TO HAVE BOTH ROTORS & PADS REPLACED, SINCE THEN HAD PADS REPLACED AGAIN ON THE BACK. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT PADS TWICE, JUST THIS MONTH WITH 46,000 MILES ON MY CAR, HAD TO REPLACE BOTH FRONT ROTORS & PADS BECAUSE THEY WERE MAKING A SQUEALING NOISE ..I FEEL THE BRAKES ARE A SAFETY ISSUE, NEVER KNOW WHEN THEY ARE GOING TO STOP WORKING ESPECIALLY IF I'M DRIVING 🚗

ON RESTART THE ERROR RETURNED. I DROVE CAR TO MECHANIC AND HAD NO POWER STEERING. AFTER TALKING WITH MECHANIC ATTEMPTED TO LEAVE AND STILL NO POWER STEERING. ANOTHER ERROR TURNED ON PRIOR TO LEAVING THE PARKING LOT WITH ADVANCETRAC FAILURE. LEFT CAR AT MECHANIC. ERROR SOUNDS SIMILAR TO OTHER FORD AND LINCOLN CARS WITH POWER STEERING FAILURE.
