WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND EXHIBITED A JERKING SENSATION BEFORE ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE IT WAS EXPIRED. THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH. DOOR LATCH HANDLE AND LOCK POPPED OUT TOWARDS STEERING WHEEL AND DOOR SWUNG OPEN IN TRAFFIC ON 12/31/2016. WHEN DOOR FINALLY LATCHED, IT WOULD NOT LOCK. REMOTE CANNOT ACTUATE LOCK. INSIDE DOOR HANDLE AND LOCK STILL OUT OF POSITION.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE 15 N AT ABOUT 70 MPH. THE STEERING WHEEL VEERED TO THE LEFT AND LOCKED. AT THIS TIME, THE POWER STEERING WAS LOST. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND HE SAID THAT THE RACK AND PINION WAS NO RESPONDING TO ANY INPUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *TR
THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST SYSTEM INTERMITTENTLY SHUTS DOWN. FIRST, WHILE DRIVING, A SERIES OF SENSOR LIGHTS COME ON. AFTER THIS, IF THE ENGINE IS SHUT OF AND THEN BACK ON, THERE IT A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE SIMILAR TO THAT IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000. HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED BY THAT RECALL. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR SERVICE AT HOLMAN FORD TURNERSVILLE LOCATED AT 3641 RT 42 SOUTH TURNERSVILLE, NJ 08012, THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT THE LUG NUTS ON ALL FOR WHEELS WERE DEFECTIVE. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE WHEELS FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LUG NUTS WERE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. SUN VISORS DO NOT STAY IN THEIR SEATING CLIPS. THIS CAUSES THEM TO FALL INTO OUR FIELD OF VISION UNEXPECTEDLY. ALSO, WHEN USING THEM, THEY DROOP INTO OUR FIELD OF VISION
MY DAUGHTERS 2012 FORD FUSION POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. SHE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN NOVEMBER 2016. WE TOOK TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER & THEY SAID THEY NEEDED TO REPROGRAM THE STEERING AND REPLACE THE ENTIRE STEERING ARM. THEY SAID THEY HAD SENT A RECALL LETTER IN JULY 15 WHICH SHE NEVER RECEIVED. NOW THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR REPAIR BECAUSE THE MILEAGE IS 158000. WHICH IS 8000 MILES OVER WHAT THEY SAY THEY HAVE TO COVER IT. IT IS A SAFETY RECALL THEY SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. MY 2012 FORD FUSION LOSES ALL ELECTRICAL POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD CAUSES THE ENGINE TO COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. DOES NOT MATTER THE SPEED YOU ARE GOING. TAKEN THIS TO FORD MANY TIMES AND SINCE IT IS A INTERMITTENT PROBLEM FORD NEVER FINDS ANYTHING WRONG. STARTED HAPPENING AROUND MILEAGE APPROX 4K MILES. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MANY TIMES. AND EACH TIME FORD TOLD ME NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS THEY WILL GET AN ENGINEER TO LOOK AT IT. IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND THEY NEVER GET AN ENGINEER THERE. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS AT A STOP SIGN AND IT SHUT OFF WITH THE MILEAGE AT 73K. WE HAVE TO DRIVE IT CAUSE FORD WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. NOW FORD SENT US A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM CASE [XXX] AND I AM GETTING HASSLED ON THE SERVICE. CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH NO HELP. FORD DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET BACK INTO THE VEHICLE AND STOP IT FROM MOVING. THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. OUR POWER STEERING WENT OUT A FEW DAYS AGO WHILE WE WERE 5 1/2 HOURS FROM HOME. IT WAS WORKING FINE. WE STOPPED IN A PARKING LOT, AND MY HUSBAND COULD TELL SOMETHING HAPPENED WHEN HE TURNED THE CAR OFF. WHEN HE TURNED IT BACK ON, THE POWER STEERING WAS OUT. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR OTHER FORD CARS LIKE OURS, BUT OUR VIN IS NOT ONE THAT WAS RECALLED. WE HAD A DIFFERENT ITEM FIXED ON OUR CAR, AND IT APPARENTLY RESET THE POWER STEERING. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving by using physical strength to steer the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where an unknown software was reset. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving uphill four years later. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact stated that the failure persisted upon turning off and restarting the vehicle. The contact's father then assisted her with driving the vehicle to her residence. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 66,934.

I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END ACCIDENT YESTERDAY WHILE COMING OFF THE HIGHWAY OFFRAMP. A SODA CAN WAS UNDER MY BRAKE PEDAL MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SLOW DOWN. I REAR ENDED A VEHICLE STOPPED AT THE LIGHT, I WAS GOING 35 -40 MPH. BOTH VEHICLES WERE TOTALLED AND I HIT MY HEAD ON THE WINDSHIELD BECAUSE THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED.
I PURCHASED MY FUSION IN SEPTEMBER AND IN NOVEMBER STARTED USING THE HEATING OPTION ON THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT. IT WOULD GET SO HOT I HAD TO SHUT IT OFF AS IT FELT LIKE IT WAS BURNING ME, MY SKIN WAS EXTREMELY SORE AFTER USING THE HEATER FOR A SHORT TIME.EN IN DECEMBER IT QUIT WORKING COMPLETELY. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP RECENTLY AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST AROUND $500 TO FIX AND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER IT. I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS AND AM HOPING FORR A RECALL OR ASSISTANCE IN PAYING TO HAVE THIS FIXED.

TAKATA RECALL I BOUGHT MY CAR IN OCT.2016 FROM A DEALERSHIP .I ASKED THEM IF IT HAD ANY RECALLES THEY SAID NO.I DROVE MY CAR FOR 2 YEARS WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT IT DID. I WAS TOLD ABOUT IT IN APRIL 2018 FORD PUT ME IN A RENTIAL WHEN I ASKED FORD MOTOR CO. AFTER BEING IN THE CAR FOR 5 MONTHS. THEY SAID THEY DONT HAVE A FIX FOR IT YET. WHEN I ASKED FOR A DEADLINE THEY SAID THAT IT WOULD NOT BE TILL THE END OF 20018 OR MID 2019. I TRYED TO TRADE IT IN OR SALE IT AND NO ONE WOULD BUY IT BC OF RECALL SO I HAD TO TURN IT IN . TO US AUTO CREDIT AND FIND A NEW CAR .I HADE TO PUT DOWN $2000.00 . THIS HAS PUT MY FAMILEY IN A BAD PLACE IT HAS MESSED UP MY CREDIT. WE WERE GOING TO BUY A HOUSE AND BC OF THIS IT HAS MESSED UP MY CHANCE TO DO SO.
THERE WAS RECALL 2015 FOR POWER STEERING SERVICE AND I HAD IT REPAIRED 10/2016 AND THIS SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN AGAIN 2017 I TOO CAR BACK TO GREEN FORD IN GREENSBORO,NC TO REPAIR IT AGAIN BUT I WAS TOLD IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THEY COULDN'T HAVE FIX THE RECALL. NOW I DON'T KNOW LOT ABOUT THIS PROCESS BUT I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IF IT'S RECALL THE RESPONSIBILITY LIES ON FORD. I'M SO AFRAID THAT THIS ISSUE CAN BE VERY HAZARDOUS TO ME AND MY FAMILY. I SHOULDN'T BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING FOR THE REPAIRS. I JUST WANT AS A CONSUMER THAT FORD BE HELL TO HIGHER STANDARDS AND FIX THE PROBLEMS THEY HAVE RECALLED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS T-BONED AND THE DRIVER'S DOOR WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK AND BACK, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO FORD MILLER MOTORS IN BURLINGTON, WISCONSIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE CRASH. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
THE POWER STEERING OF MY 2012 FORD FUSION STOPPED WORKING. THE MESSAGE, " POWER STEERING ASSIST DEFAULT," APPEARED IN THE MIDDLE OF MY STEERING WHEEL. I CAN STILL DRIVE, BUT VERY HARD TO TURN WHEEL. THERE IS A RECALL FOR POWER STEERING ON 2012 FORD FUSION, BUT BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER WASN'T INCLUDED IN CARS RECALLED, I AM NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RECALL. SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL, BUT NOT VIN NUMBER.
I JUST WENT OUT TO MY CAR, GOT IN, STARTED IT AND NOTICED MY DOOR LOCK BUTTON WAS FUNKY. THEN WENT TO OPEN MY DOOR AND IT DOES NOT OPEN, IT IS BROKEN! I HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND OPEN IT FROM THE OUTSIDE - NOT OKAY. I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO DRIVES MY CAR AND I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY CAR. I WENT TO THE INTERNET AND FOUND LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE DOOR HANDLE BREAKING. IS THERE A RECALL FOR A 2012 FORD FUSION? I ONLY SAW ONE FOR THE FUSION STARTING IN 2013.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY , MY POWER STEERING JUST STOPPED , WHEN I LOOKED AT THE DASH IT STATES TO CHECK POWER STEERING NOW . WHEN I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ON LINE THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM ON 2012 FUSION BUT MY MANUFACTURER DATE IS A MONTH PASSED. I NOTICE OTHER FUSIONS ON SOCIAL FORUMS FROM 2012 TO 2014 HAVING THE SAME ISSUES , I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO FORD AND THEY SAID ITS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL .I CALLED FORDS MAIN HEADQUARTERS AND THEY WONT BUDGE. IF THIS WASN'T A SAFETY ISSUE , I WOULD NOT BE AS CONCERNED ,BUT POWER STEERING FAILURE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH DOES NOT ENGAGE COMPLETELY AND CAN BE OPENED WITH A SLIGHT PUSH FROM INSIDE.
TAILLIGHTS SOCKETS ARE DISCOLORED AND BURNT LOOKING. THE PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE SOCKET IS MELTED.
TAKATA INFLATOR: ON SEPTEMBER 23RD I WAS DRIVING TO WORK USING LOCAL STET AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR LOST ALL POWER, IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I HIT THE GAS. SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON INSIDE THE CAR INCLUDING THE ENGINE LIGHT. IT HAPPEN ONCE AGAIN ON OCT 5, 2016 WHILE DRIVING ON 408. THANK GOD THAT THE TRAFFIC WAS HEAVY AND I WAS ABLE TO PLACE THE CAR INTO PARK, TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN. I THE TRAFFIC WAS NOT HEAVY I COULD HAVE BEEN BADLY INJURED. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE. PLEASE DON'T LET SOMEONE LOOSE THEY LIFE BEFORE THE ISSUE IS FIXED

POWER STEERING WENT OUT
MY ADULT SON WAS USING MY VEHICLE. HE PARKED MY VEHICLE IN HIS DRIVEWAY AND CLOSED THE DRIVER'S DOOR. WHEN HE WENT TO USE MY VEHICLE, THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN. HE HAD TO GO TO WORK, SO HE ENTERED THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE. AFTER GETTING TO WORK THE DRIVER'S DOOR STILL WOULDN'T OPEN SO AGAIN HAD TO VACATE THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP. THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR TWO DAYS BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT GET THE DOOR TO OPEN EITHER. THEY CALLED FORD DIRECTLY FOR INSTRUCTIONS. COME TO FIND OUT IT WAS A FAULTY LATCH (SAME REASON THEY ARE NOW RECALLING FORD FUSION FROM THE YEAR 2013-2014 - MINE IS A 2012). I CALLED THE FORD COMPANY AND THEY SAID THEY WILL REPORT IT AND I TOLD THEM I WOULD DO THE SAME. THEY MADE ME PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE ON MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND I FELT SINCE IT IS A KNOWN DEFECT, THAT I SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO PAY MY DEDUCTIBLE OF $100. I HAVE A CASE # FROM FORD: CAS-10775544-Z653C9
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE IS BROKEN ON THE INSIDE. CHEAP PLASTIC, NORMAL USE. NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. MANY OTHERS HAVE SAME PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND BROKEN AS I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR.
