RECALL 15S16 WAS PERFORMED ON APRIL 24, 2018 TO FIX A DOOR LATCH WHICH HAD NOT MALFUNCTIONED YET. LAST WEEK IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED IN A GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT AS I WAS DRIVING. PASSENGER DOOR OPENED WHILE IN MOTION AND WOULD NOT LATCH. HAD TO TIE IT SHUT WITH A ROPE. TOOK IT FOR REPAIR YESTERDAY AND WAS INFORMED IT WAS MORE THAN A YEAR SO THE LATCH PART WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND I WAS CHARGED $448 TO FIX THE ISSUE. I FEEL FORD SHOULD HAVE FIXED THIS FOR FREE SINCE IT WAS OBVIOUSLY FIXED WITH A FAULTY PART 2 YEARS AGO OR IT WOULDNT HAVE HAPPENED. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY HELP IN BEING REIMBURSED. I SEE ANOTHER RECALL HAPPENED THIS YEAR FOR THIS SAME THING BUT ONLY GOES BACK TO 2014 AND I HAVE A 2013.
MY FORD FUSION HAS HAD A CONSISTENT ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT AFFECTS MANY ASPECTS OF THE VEHICLE. TO START, I WILL RECEIVE A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD THAT READS 'TEMPORARILY LOST CONNECTION WITH THE CLIMATE CONTROL'. THIS LEADS ME TO NOT HAVING ANY CONTROL OF TEMPERATURE, SEAT WARMERS, AC, ETC. I HAVE ALSO LOST THE CONTROL OF OPENING OR CLOSING THE BOTH WINDOWS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS HAS FORCED ME TO KEEP THE WINDOW OPEN OVERNIGHT. I AM WORRIED ABOUT ANYONE GETTING INTO MY VEHICLE OR POTENTIALLY STEALING IT. I'M TIRED OF THIS POSSIBLE SHORTAGE THAT IS HAPPENING AND I HAVE READ MANY OTHER'S COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES.

UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V632000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
I GO TO START MY CAR THIS MORNING TO GO TO WORK AND A STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT COMES ON , CAN'T MOVE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL . I JUST DROVE IT 2 DAYS AGO . NO SIGNS OR ANY WARNINGS THAT ANYTHING HAD BEEN GOING WRONG. I SEE THERE ARE RECALLS ON THIS BUT NOT FOR MINE CAR ACCORDING TO THE VIN
MY CAR IDLES ROUGHLY, AND HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS NO OUTSTANDING RECALLS, AND STILL HAPPENED. A FEW MONTHS AGO IT WAS HAPPENING, AND ON MY WAY TO A REPAIR SHOP, OVERHEATED, AND DID OVER $700 WORTH OF DAMAGE. NOW, A FEW MONTHS LATER, IT'S GOT A ROUGH IDLE AND STALLED ON ME YESTERDAY AS WELL. I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO TAKE AN EXIT, BUT TOOK THE EXIT WITH NO POWER. RESTARTED THE CAR AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR GAVE ME WARNING THAT COOLANT SYSTEM WAS OVERHEATING, THEN CAR STARTED TO AUTO SLOW DOWN UNTIL A COMPLETE STOP ON A PUBLIC ROADWAY. CHECK ENGINE CODE CAME BACK FOR CYLINDER MISFIRE. HAD SPARK PLUGS AND COIL CHANGED BY MECHANIC, AS WELL AS REFILLED ENGINE COOLANT. NEXT DAY, TURN CAR ON AND WHITE SMOKE BILLOWS OUT OF EXHAUST AND ENGINE SHUDDERS, THEN DIES, LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THERE IS A COOLANT LEAK IN THE CYLINDERS. TOOK IT BACK TO MECHANIC AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND AN EXTERIOR COOLANT LEAK AFTER RUNNING TESTS. NEXT DAY, COOLANT LEVEL DROPS BELOW MINIMUM AFTER BEING FULL THE DAY BEFORE. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, THERE IS LIKELY AN INTERIOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A MAIN CITY STREET (STRAIGHT AWAY) THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY SYSTEM LIGHTS CAME ON ALONG WITH THE ABS LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO TRY AND STOP ON ITS OWN WITHOUT ME APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES. IT HAS DONE THIS MULTIPLE TIMES AND I HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP. I HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN AND I AM IN FEAR OF DRIVING MY VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND THE TRANSMISSION CEASED IN GEAR. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
INTERMITTENTLY THE VEHICLE WOULD IDLE ROUGH AFTER FILLING GAS TANK. ALSO AFTER A 30 MIN OR SO DRIVE IT WOULD STALL AFTER EXITING THE FREEWAY AND THEN BE VERY DIFFICULT TO RESTART AND IDLE VERY ROUGH. IT WOULD ALSO MAKE A POPPING NOISE THAT WOULD COME FROM THE GAS TANK. *TR
COOLANT LEAK FROM FREEZE OUT PLUG CAUSING CAR TO OVERHEAT FIRST ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED CAUSING A P0304 CODE THEN SMELLED COOLANT AND STARTED OVERHEATING
I PURCHASED MY 2013 FORD FUSION FROM FAMILY AUTO OF BEREA. MY TOTAL PURCHASE PRICE WAS OVER $13,000 WHICH I AGREED TO PAY IN WEEKLY INSTALLMENTS OF $115. THE ENGINE HAD APPROXIMATELY 130,000 MILES ON IT. I DECIDED ON THE FORD FUSION BASED ON YEARS OF WATCHING MY FATHER AND GRANDPARENTS REPEATEDLY BUY FORD VEHICLES. SOME BRAND NEW, SOME USED. THEY ALL GAVE POSITIVE FEEDBACK CONCERNING THEIR VEHICLES. THEY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT I PURCHASE A FORD AS WELL. I TRUSTED THEM AND I TRUSTED FORD. AFTER ALL, FORD HAD BEEN MAKING QUALITY VEHICLES SINCE THE PRODUCTION OF THE T MODEL IN 1908. I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 FORD FUSION TRAVELING ON 385 SOUTH IN GREENVILLE, SC. I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES AN HOUR IN THE FAR LEFT LANE WITH MY 6 YEAR OLD, SON AND 8 YEAR OLD, DAUGHTER IN THE BACK SEAT. WITHOUT WARNING, MY ENGINE STALLED. I WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN MY SPEED OR ACCELERATE. I PROCEEDED TO USE MY RIGHT TURN SIGNAL TO TRY TO GET TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. CARS WERE FLYING BY US SWITCHING LANES TO DODGE US. AT ANY MOMENT, ANOTHER VEHICLE COULD'VE COLLIDED WITH MY VEHICLE AND WOULD HAVE LIKELY ENDED WITH A FATALITY. I MANAGED TO MAKE IT SAFELY TO THE EMERGENCY LANE WHERE I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND HAD MY CAR TOWED TO MY HOME. I NOTIFIED FAMILY AUTO OF BEREA AND THEY ARRANGED FOR AN INSPECTION OF MY VEHICLE WHICH ULTIMATELY REVEALED THAT MY ENGINE NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE TOTAL AMOUNT FOR THE REPLACEMENT WOULD HAVE TOTALED OVER $2500 OUT OF POCKET BUT I HAD PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH THE DEALERSHIP. I MISSED 4 DAYS OF WORK DUE TO THEM HAVING TO REPLACE THE ENGINE IN ADDITION TO FEARING FOR MY CHILDREN'S SAFETY BC YOUR VEHICLE DIDN'T HOLD UP TO THE STANDARDS AND QUALITY I THOUGHT FORD WAS KNOWN FOR. *TR
LOOSING COOLANT, WHITE SMOKE FROM EXHAUST, ENGINE OVERHEATING MESSAGE
AFTER NOT BEING STARTED FOR A WHILE, CAR WILL START TO SHUDDER, THEN WILL COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. WHEN YOU RESTART THE CAR IT WORKS. IT ONLY WORKS UNTIL YOU GET TO YOUR DESTINATION AND LET IT SIT FOR 15-20 MINS AND THEN YOU TRY TO START IT AGAIN AND IT DOES THE SAME THING. CAR WOULD DIE WHEN CAR IS STAIONARY AND WHILE IN MOTION. I HAD BATTERY CHECKED AND IT IS GOOD. HAD FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR ON THE RAIL CHANGED AND IT IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. I SEARCHED ONLINE AND THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE 2013 FORD FUSIONS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.
APRIL 2019 WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY CHECK ENGINE AND DASH LIGHTS FLASHED ALONG WITH VEHICLE OVERHEATING MESSAGE. HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE SHOULDER AND CALL FOR A TOW TO THE PURCHASING DEALERSHIP. WATER PUMP WAS REPLACED AND COOLING SYSTEM CHECKED. AUGUST 2019 WHILE TRAVELING ON A CITY STREET CHECK ENGINE AND LOW COOLANT LIGHT MESSAGE APPEARED. TOOK VEHICLE TO PURCHASING DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY PREFORMED AN OIL CHANGE AND PULLED CODES P0303 AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR. REPAIR WAS NEVER DONE DUE TO NO CODES AT TIME OF APPOINTMENT. FEBRUARY 2020 WHILE TRAVELING ON A CITY STREET VEHICLE STARTS TO SHAKE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES. DROVE VEHICLE TO PURCHASING DEALERSHIP AND DIAGNOSED WITH A CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK AND MUST REPLACE ENGINE AT A COST OF $6600.00 + TAX. EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY DECLINED COVERAGE AND PURCHASING DEALERSHIP IGNORE REQUEST FOR RESOLUTION.

RANDOMLY RECEIVING POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT AND STEERING/CAR PULLS TO SIDE SOMETIMES WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS.
2013 FORD FUSION. I WAS DRIVING DOWNHILL ON FREEWAY WHEN POWER STEERING JUST STIFFENED UP . I MANAGE TO GET OFF AT NEXT EXIT . AFTER I PARKED, SHUT OFF, THEN RESTARTED VEHICLE THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD IT CHECKED BY MECHANIC AND THEY SAID THE STEERING GEAR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED 2500.00 THIS PROBLEM IS EXACTLY WHAT THE CURRENT RECALL IS FOR BUT THEY SAID MY VIN # HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO INCLUDE THE VIN#'S THAT ARE ACTUALLY AFFECTED BY THIS PROBLEM THEY ARE RECALLING. MY CAR MATCHES THE EXACT INFORMATION OF THE VEHICLES THEY ARE RECALLING.
I WAS DRIVING DOWNHILL ON FREEWAY RUNNING APPROX 70 MPH WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL JUST WENT STIFF. POWER STEERING JUST SHUT OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I MANAGED TO GET OFF AT THE FOLLOWING EXIT . THEN WHEN I CAME TO A FULL STOP I HAD TO FORCE THE STEERING TO TURN. THE WARNING LIGHT FOR STEERING PROBLEM CAME ON AFTER I SHUT OFF VEHICLE AND RESTARTED. I HAD THE CAR DIAGNOSED AND MECHANIC SAID THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND DAMAGES DID NOT LOOK LIKE IT WAS CAUSED BY NORMAL DRIVING. ESTIMATED COSTS 2500.00. I CHECKED THE RECENT RECALLS AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V632000 IT FITS THE DESCRIPTION BUT FORD ADVISED THAT VIN# WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND IT MOST OF VEHICLES WERE IN THE EAST COAST. I TOLD THEM THAT MY CAR CAME FROM THE EAST COAST (MN) .
FOR ABOUT A MONTH NOW MY COOLANT HAS BEEN DROPPING IN THE RESERVOIR ABOUT EVERY 2 WEEKS. I HAD THE OIL CHANGED TODAY AND ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK AND SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS LEAKING AROUND THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING. THIS IS IN DIRECT RELATION TO THE RECALLS BUT OF COURSE THEY SAY MINE IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. I WONDER WHAT FORD WILL THINK IF IT CATCHES FIRE AND I'M INJURED AND MY CHILDREN SUE THEM! PLEASE HELP I'M ON DISABILITY AND CAN'T AFFORD THE $450 THE DEALER WANTS TO FIX IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JACK DEMMER FORD, INC.37300 MICHIGAN AVE, WAYNE, MI 48184 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WHOLE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE ELECTRIC STEERING RACK MOTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO ANY RECALLS. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V250000 (STEERING), 13V232000 (STEERING), NOR 19V632000 (STEERING). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
I PUT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE REAR SEATS DOWN (THE 60 OF THE 60/40 REAR SEATS) AND THE SEAT WILL NOT COME BACK UP. THE MIDDLE SEATBELT IS LOCKED IN POSITION MAKING PUTTING THE SEAT UP IMPOSSIBLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY ON A LEVEL SURFACE.
AFTER MY COOLING SYSTEM RECALL WAS REPAIRED, I KEPT HAVING TO ADD COOLANT TO THE SYSTEM. I REPORTED THIS TO FORD AND WENT BACK FOR THEM TO CHECK IT. I WAS TOLD IT WASN'T ANY LEAKS. SO A YEAR LATER I AM STILL ADDING COOLANT WHEN IT GETS LOW. I FILLED UP THE COOLANT ON A WEDNESDAY. ON SATURDAY AT ABOUT 2 AM I CAME OUT AND SAW SOMETHING HAD LEAKED ON THE GROUND, I THOUGH IT WAS WATER BECAUSE I HAD THE AIR ON. I STARTED DRIVING HOME ON A CITY STREET AND MY CAR SUDDENLY SPIKES TO OVERHEATS AND STALLS OUT. I PULLED OVER AND WAITED AND THEN ADDED SOME COOLANT. WHEN I POURED IT IN THE RESERVOIR IT LEAKED OUT RIGHT ON THE GROUND LIKE THE RESERVOIR HAD A CRACK IN IT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY HOME AND HAD A MECHANIC COME AND LOOK AT IT. HE TOOK THE RESERVOIR OUT AND FILLED IT WITH WATER. IT DIDN'T HAVE A CRACK. HE THEN DID MORE INVESTIGATING AND FOUND THAT THE WATER PUMP WENT BAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER, THINKING MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS STILL IN PLACE. ONCE TOWED THE FORD DEALER SAID THAT I WAS 836 MILES OVER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WOULD HAVE TO PAY $1460.00 FOR THE REPAIR. NEEDLESS TO SAY I DIDN'T HAVE THE REPAIR DONE. I ASKED THE DEALER IF THE COOLANT RECALL WOULD HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE WATER PUMP GOING BAD. THEY SAID IT WAS ALL CONNECTED BUT NOT PART OF THE RECALL. I ASKED EVEN THOUGH I WAS HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE COOLANT SINCE THE RECALL WAS DONE. AND THEY SAID YES, FORD DID NOT HAVE THE WATER PUMP AS PART OF ANY RECALL.

THE REPAIR WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.*DT*JB

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED INTERMITTENTLY, THEN THE VEHICLE VIBRATED ABNORMALLY AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD LINCOLN QUEENS SERVICE, 92-12 173RD ST, JAMAICA, JAMAICA, NY 11435, WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY COOLANT LEAKING IN TO THE ENGINE WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE BLOCK TO FRACTURE. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED BY THE SAME DEALER FORD LINCOLN QUEENS SERVICE, 92-12 173RD ST, JAMAICA, JAMAICA, NY 11435, UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
I HAVE HAD 2 DOOR LATCH FAILURES ON MY VEHICLE WITHIN 7 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER. THE FIRST ONE WAS MY DRIVER DOOR, 2ND FAILURE WAS MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR. I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CORPORATION, AND THEY ADVISED ME THESE WERE SUPPOSEDLY ALREADY FIXED UNDER THE RECALL THAT THE VEHICLE PREVIOUS HAD. THE FIRST DOOR LATCH FAILED ON 07/06/2019, THE 2ND FAILURE HAPPENED ON 1/19/2020. THE FAILURE HAS CAUSED THE DOORS OPEN AND NOT LATCH CLOSE EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR BOTH OF THESE REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET WHEN IT IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE. MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR IS RARELY USED, I DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN AND I DO NOT OPEN THAT DOOR OFTEN. MY DRIVER DOOR OPENED ON ME WHEN I WAS GOING AROUND A CORNER AT 45 MPH, AND THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR OPENED ON ME AS I WAS PARKING IN A SPOT GOING ABOUT 3 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CONTACT NHTSA TO PLACE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,069.
WHEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND YOU GO TO MAKE A STOP WITH THE VEHICLE AT LIKE 20 MILES TO 15 MILES PER HOUR THE BRAKING SYSTEM GO TO BREAKS REALLY HARD OR JERK. MAKE IT HARD FOR YOU TO STOP. AND FEEL LIKE YOU ABOUT TO FLY THROUGH THE WINDOW. MAKING THE TRACTION CONTROL AND HILL ASSIST LIGHT INDICATE, AND THE LIGHT WILL GO BACK OUT ON THE VEHICLE AS IF NOT HAPPENED ONCE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. AT 5 TO 10 MILES PER HOUR. THIS WILL HAPPEN VERY OFTEN WHILE DRIVING.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE STREETS WHEN WE LOST STEERING POWER.
THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM WENT OUT DUE TO A MANUFACTURER DEFECT IN THE RACK AND PINON ELECTRICAL BOARD. THIS WAS NOT DUE TO WEAR AND TEAR ON THE CAR, BUT INSTEAD DUE TO POOR MANUFACTURING OF THE PART. THE RACK AND PINON ELECTRIC BOARD SHOULD NEVER FAIL, AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM WENT OUT TWICE, ONCE WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD DURING A SNOWSTORM AND ANOTHER WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. VERY UNSAFE TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AS THE STEERING WHEEL IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN.

A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED CAUSING THE OWNER (MYSELF) TO TAKE THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AS THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND LOW PRESSURE FUEL SENSOR SIMULTANEOUSLY FAILING. THE ONLY WARNING SIGNS PREVIOUSLY WAS THE CAR STALLING AND TURNING OFF (DASH BOARD STAYED ILLUMINATED). THIS WOULD HAPPEN AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND EITHER PUTTING THE CAR INTO REVERSE OR DRIVING WITHIN THE FIRST FEW MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR THIS ISSUE AND AN ISSUE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE IDENTIFIED AT THE TIME. UPON OWNER INVESTIGATION AT A LATER DATE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THESE ISSUED HAD BEEN REPORTED TO BE RELATED.

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ALSO EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND FILE A REPORT. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TOW YARD AND THEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WATER PUMP, THE HEADS CRACK DUE TO THE EXTREME HEAT THAT SPILL OUT OIL WHICH CAUSE THE FIRE. THE WATER PUMP THE PULLEY AND HEADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
MY 2013 FORD FUSION HAS AN EPAS STEERING SYSTEM. GIRLFRIENDS TOOK THE CAR TO WISCONSIN OVER THE WEEKEND BEFORE THE BLIZZARD AND NOTICED THE STEERING GOT A LITTLE TIGHT. NEXT DAY AFTER AN OIL CHANGE WAS DONE AND THE VEHICLE WAS BACK IN HER PARENTS DRIVEWAY SHE WENT OUTSIDE TO GO PICK UP OUR DAUGHTER AND THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY WENT OUT. SHE WAS NOT DRIVING AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT BUT THERE WERE NO WARNING OF POWER STEERING NOT WORKING WHEN THIS HAPPENED. VEHICLE BECAME VERY HARD TO STEER AND SHE WAS NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT HOME. 4.5 HOURS AWAY. I LEFT SATURDAY NIGHT AT 9PM AND GOT TO WISCONSIN AROUND 1-2AM SWITCHED OUT VEHICLES WITH HER AND DROVE MY FORD BACK TO FARGO RETURNING AT 9:45AM SUNDAY MORNING. TWO WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON ABOUT THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM AND ALONG THE DRIVE I NOTICED THAT ITS NOT JUST HARD TO STEER THE VEHICLE BUT IT ALSO LIKES TO STEER ITSELF A LITTLE LEFT AND RIGHT AT RANDOM TIMES.

ONLY DROVE APPROX. 1/4 MILE FROM WHERE IT WAS PARKED ON A SUBURBAN ROAD. CAR NEARLY UNDRIVEABLE. SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES HAD JUST BEEN REPLACED BY MECHANIC RECOMMENDATION THE DAY BEFORE. ENGINE MISFIRING.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 169,823.
CAR STALLS AT AFTER STOPPING AT RED LIGHTS AND SOME TIMES AFTER IT BEEN SHUT AND RESTARTED FOR NO REASON. THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP HAS HAD IT FOR 3-4 DAYS AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON. NO CODES ARE BEING GIVING FROM THE CAR. AND THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS IS MY DAUGHTERS CAR AND THIS ISSUE HAS ALMOST CAUSED HER TO BE IN AN CRASH DUE TO IT STALLING AT AN INTERSECTION!

I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY STREET AND THE POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING WHILE MANEUVERING AROUND SOME OTHER DRIVER, AND I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. IT IS VERY HARD TO STEER NOW, I HAVE CHECKED THE FUSES AND HEARD THAT FORD'S POWER STEERING ASSIST IS NOTORIOUS FOR FAILING.
ADVANCE TRACK, ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, BLINDSPOT, ALL LIGHT UP ON DISPLAY. WHEN ACCELERATING CAR IT MAKES A STALLING JERKING MOTION. FREQUENTLY WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES IT'S JUMPING FORWARD AND MAKING LOUD NOISES. ALSO WHEN RELEASING BREAKS, IT MAKES A SPRING LIKE NOISE. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON AND ALL OF A SUDDEN BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN.
FIRST TIME PROBLEM OCCURRED WAS IN A PARKING LOT. ABLE TO REVERSE. AS SOON AS VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO DRIVE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING. ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS WORKED. THIS HAPPENED 2 TIMES IN A PARKING LOT AND A SIMILAR SITUATION HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. NO WARNING LIGHTS CODES OR ANY WARNING BEFORE VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF. WHEN VEHICLE SHUTS OFF ONLY REAL SIGN IS LOSS OF ACCELERATION
