THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING FAILED,CAUSING INACCURATE GEAR SELECTION,RESULTING IN CAR ROLLING DOWN MY DRIVEWAY, CROSSING THE STREET AND CRASHING INTO MY NEIGHBORS TREE. DAMAGE INCLUDED THE REAR BUMPER, THE TREE, NO ONE WAS HURT BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE. FORD HAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME YEAR, AND MODEL, BUT INSIST THAT MY CAR IS NOT IN THE LIST. THIS INCIDENT HAS COST TO DATE ALMOST A THOUSAND DOLLARS TO FIX. THE LOSS OF CONFIDENCE REGARDING THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE CANNOT BE MONETIZED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE RESET. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARMS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE DETACHED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,973.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE "STEERING FAULT SERVICE NOW" MESSAGE DISPLAYED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER WHILE DRIVING AROUND A ROUNDABOUT. THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V232000 (STEERING), ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
EXTREMELY ABRUPT SHIFTING BETWEEN 1ST-2ND AND 2ND-3RD. 2013 FORD FUSION TITANIUM AWD. THE SHIFT IS BECOMING SO HARD THAT I BRACE MYSELF AND PLACE MY NECK AGAINST THE HEADREST DURING THE SHIFT. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT'S SO HARD IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING IS GOING TO BREAK. I'VE HAD THE ADAPTIVE SYSTEM REPROGRAMED 3 TIMES AND THE SOLENOIDS IN 2ND AND 3RD REPLACED ALREADY. THE SHIFT IS ABRUPT AND HARD NO MATTER HOW I TRY ACCELERATING, ALSO SPORT MODE DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
HELLO, ON 03/14/2019 I CHATTED FORD ON MY NUMEROUS RECALLS ON MY 2013 FORD FUSION. I WAS GIVEN CASE# (XXXXX) AND TOLD TO TAKE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR ASSESSMENT ON PRIOR RECALL REPAIRS. IN 2017 WE HAD A COOLANT RECALL AND WAS TOLD BY DAVE LITTLETON FORD IN SMITHVILLE, MO. THAT WE HAD ANTI-FREEZE ALL OVER OUR ENGINE AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ENGINE. WE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS OR SIGNS THAT IT HAD A COOLANT PROBLEM? WE TOOK IN BECAUSE WE GOT THE RECALL NOTICE. MY CAR HAS NEVER RAN RIGHT SINCE. IT IDLES FAST ETC. IN DECEMBER OUR FLEX PLATE CRACKED, NOW 3 MONTHS LATER IT CRACKED AGAIN. OUR MECHANIC SAYS THE ENGINE DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN LINED UP CORRECTLY WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE ISSUES BECAUSE OF THE SHOTTY MECHANICAL WORK DONE BY DAVE LITTLETON FORD. WE HAVE TAKEN TO GARY CROSSLEY FORD IN KC, MO. THEY ALSO AGREE THERE IS SHOTTY MECHANICAL WORK DONE TO THE ENGINE REPAIR DUE TO RECALL? WE HAVE BEEN 2 WEEKS WITH NO WORD ON HOW THIS ISSUE IS GOING TO BE RESOLVED AND ARE WITHOUT A CAR? I NEED SOME ANSWERS? THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
PERIODICALLY WILL DELAY WHEN SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, THEN WILL ENGAGE HARD, CAUSING LOUD SOUND, SLAMS INTO GEAR. HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES FROM THE PARKED POSITION BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE. ALSO HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN STOPPING FORWARD MOTION AND SHIFTING INTO REVERSE, SHIFTING DRIVE TO REVERSE ALSO HAS CONDITION WHILE DRIVING THAT TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF LOW GEAR AUTOMATICALLY OR MANUALLY, NEEDED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF ROAD, AND SHUT ENGINE OFF AND RESTART, TRANSMISSION SHIFTED CORRECTLY AFTER RESTARTING ENGINE OWNED VEHICLE FROM NEW, DELAY SHIFTING INTO REVERSE CONDITION OCCURRED PERIODICALLY AFTER ABOUT TWO YEARS OF SERVICE. THE NO UP SHIFT CONDITION HAS ONLY OCCURRED ONCE TO DATE ON 3/1/19
LOSS OF DRIVER STEERING ASSIST. STEERING BECAME STIFF. VEHICLE WAS PARKED.
I WAS DRIVING MYSELF TO MY EMT SALARY, FULL BENEFIT JOB WHEN MY CAR BEGAN TO SMOKE. WHEN I PULLED OVER AND LIFTED THE HOOD FLAMES CAME ROARING OUT. I PERSONALLY WAS ABLE TO PUT IT OUT BEING A FORMER FIRE FIGHTER. NOW INSURANCE SAYS THEY CAN NOT COVER THIS DUE TO IT BEING AN ENGINE FAILURE. DESPITE FULL COVERAGE, GAP INSURANCE, AND FIRE CASUALTY INSURANCE THEY COULD NOT PAY OUT FOR A NEW ENGINE. ONLY THE FIRE DAMAGE DONE UNDER THE HOOD AND NOTHING ELSE. THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED I NEEDED AN ENTIRELY NEW ENGINE PUT IN AND THAT IT WOULD COST 7,000.00. I HAD THIS CAR LESS THEN 6 MONTHS WHEN IT CAUGHT FIRE. I ALSO HAVE 11,000.00+ LOAN OUT ON THIS CAR. I FILED A CLAIM WITH FORD MOTOR AND THEY HAVE IGNORED ALL MY ATTEMPTS. I AM UNABLE TO GET ANOTHER LOAN DUE TO ALREADY HAVING AN OPEN CAR LOAN AND NOT ENOUGH CREDIT. I LOST MY JOB AS A RESULT TO NOT BEING ABLE TO AFFORD A RENTAL AFTER BLOWING THROUGH MY ENTIRE SAVINGS FOR ONE. I TEMPORARILY LOST CUSTODY OF MY SON DUE TO NOT TRANSPORTATION TO HIS SCHOOL. I LOST MY HOME DUE TO NOT HAVING MY FULL TIME JOB ANYMORE. I AM NEARING THE POINT OF LIVING ON THE STREETS. I LOST MY EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL DUE TO HAVING NO HOME. PLEASE HELP A SINGLE MOTHER COME BACK FROM SUCH A LOSS. *JS

AIR BAG LIGHT HAS CAME ON AND WOULD NOT GO OFF THE CAR HASN'T BEEN IN A ACCIDENT OR ANYTHING. THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.

MY CAR HAS BEEN SKIPPING AND HESITATION WITH POWER TRAIN OR TRANSMISSION WHILE DRIVING WHENEVER IT WANTS. IT’S NOTHING SPECIFIC TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN. LAST WEEK BACK POWER WINDOWS QUIT WORKING. NOW....STARTED CAR IN DRIVE, STEERING WAS LOCKED. DROVE BACK AND FORTH, TRIED DIFFERENT GEARS, TRIED RESTARTING, IT FINALLY STARTED BY TURNING KEY OVER. CAME HOME, PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, CAN’T GET STEERING TO UNLOCK AT ALL NOW! I AM OVER AN HOUR AWAY FROM HOME, SO WHENEVER IT DECIDES TO TURN, I CAN HEAD HOME. BUT AFTER READING THESE REVIEWS, DO I DARE? SHIFT LINKAGE CAME APART, THE CAR IS A 2013 BUT ISNT COVERED UNDER THE CURRENT RECALL FOR SOME REASON. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY
I HAVE A 2013 FORD FUSION. IT HAS BEEN DISPLAYING A JERKING MOTION WITH PULLING IS OUT A PARK AND INTO DRIVE. WHEN GOING TO TURN THE CORNER IT STALLED OUT ON ME. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STATED BACK UP BUT WHEN DRIVING ITS LIKE IT HAD NO POWER AND IT WAS GOING SLOW.
MY CAR SHUTTERS AT AN IDOL OR SLOWLY TAKING OFF WHERE IT SHUTS OFF.THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THEN ONCE AND THE SCARY THING IS I'VE PULLED OUT IN A INTERSECTION AND THE CAR SHUTS OFF. I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART IT.IT'S HAPPENING MORE OFTEN NOW MY ENGINE LIGHT JUST CAME ON AFTER THIS HAPPING FOR OVER A MONTH NOW.
THE SHIFT CABLE BECAME DISCONNECTED FROM THE TRANSMISSION ALLOWING THE SHIFT LEVER TO MOVE THROUGH THE POSITIONS, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. FORTUNATELY, THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN PARK AND WE COULD NOT PULL IT OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, BUT IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHEN PULLING IN AND IT HADN'T GONE INTO PARK, IT COULD HAVE ROLLED DOWN OUR DRIVEWAY AND HURT SOMEONE. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE DESCRIBED BY FORD RECALL NUMBER 18S20, HOWEVER MY VEHICLE APPEARS TO NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME MAKE MODEL AND YEAR OF THE RECALLED VEHICLES AND MADE AT THE SAME MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN MEXICO THAT IS COVERED BY THE RECALL.
STEERING ASSIST FAILURE IT SEEMS THAT THERE HAVE BEEN PROBLEMS AND RECALLS WITH THIS STEERING ISSUE HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT ADDRESS THE PROBLEM
I HAVE ALREADY FILED A COMPLAINT , #11173709, I AM FILING AGAIN BECAUSE I WANTED TO ADD INFORMATION TO THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINT BUT COULD NOT FIND HOW TO DO THAT. THIS IS A 2013 MODEL YEAR CAR THAT WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM THE DEALER IN MARCH 2015. THE CAR HAS BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR LESS THAN FOUR YEARS AND HAS ONLY 34750 MILES. THE STEERING ASSIST HAS FAILED, ALMOST CAUSING A FENDER BENDER IN A PARKING LOT. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS , IT SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT FORD HAS WITH SEVERAL CARS. THE COST FOR REPAIR HAS BEEN ESTIMATED AT 1800.00 PLUS TAX FROM OUR LOCAL FORD DEALER. ANOTHER CONCERN I HAVE IS THAT I BOUGHT TWO OF THESE CARS AT THE SAME TIME AND I AM NOW WAITING FOR THE SECOND CARS STEERING TO FAIL.
ARRIVED HOME PLACED MY CAR ON PARK AND WHEN I LIFTED MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK THE VEHICLE KEPT DRIVING FORWARD HITTING A SNOW BANK. PUT MY FOOT ON BREAK AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. TRIED TO START THE CAR BUT IT SAYS "TRANSMISSION NOT ON PARK" ON DASH. CAR WILL NOT START. FOR SAFETY I SET PARKING BREAK. CONTACTED FOR DUE TO RECALL # 18S20 AND WAS ADVISED THAT ACCORDING TO MY VIN # THE RECALL DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE. EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL DESCRIBES IS WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE. I HAVE NO OTHER TRANSPORTATION. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION.

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AGAIN, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAN TAN FORD (1429 E MOTORPLEX LOOP, GILBERT, AZ 85297, (480) 821-3200) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTING CABLE BUSHING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. MY CAR HAD NO SIGNS OF TROUBLE. SUDDENLY SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM THE HEAT VENTS ON THE DASH. I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT AND GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. AT THIS TIME I SAW FLAMES COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I CALLED 911. BY THE TIME OF ARRIVAL OF THE FIRE DEPT THE CAR WAS FULLY INVOLVED IN FLAMES.

AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON, IT ACCELERATED TO 35 MPH ON ITS OWN AND WOULD NOT EXCEED THAT SPEED. DURING THE FAILURE, THE BRAKES DID NOT OPERATE PROPERLY AND FAILED TO IMMEDIATELY STOP THE VEHICLE. TAKATA RECALL, DRIVERS DOOR LATCH FAILED 2 YEARS AFTER RECALL REPAIR
I NOTICED WATER DRIPPING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE DASHBOARD ONTO MY SHOES WHILE DRIVING. WHEN IT RAINED, WATER WAS IN THE FLOOR BOARD AND SINCE I PARK ON A HILL, IT WAS GOING UP UNDER THE SEAT AND SATURATING THE BACK FLOOR BOARD AS WELL. I HAD RECEIVED A CRACK IN THE SUNROOF FROM A TREE BRANCH SO THOUGHT THE WATER WAS COMING IN FROM THAT PROBLEM. TOOK IT TO A COLLISION CENTER FOR THEM TO TELL ME IT WASN'T COMING FROM THE CRACK BUT THE WINDSHIELD IS SEPARATING! I ALSO DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE ISN'T ANY RUBBER SEAL TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE, HAS HAD OVER A DOZEN RECALLS, SEEMS LIKE FORD DOESN'T WANT TO FIX THESE ISSUES. I'VE CALLED AND ASKED ABOUT ALL OF THESE ISSUES, SOMEONE WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL ME BACK, BUT WE ALL KNOW HOW HOW THAT TURNS OUT. AS SOON AS I GET THESE ISSUES FIXED I'LL GET A NEW CAR AND IT WON'T BE A FORD!
THE VEHICLE HAS AN ELECTRICAL GLITCH AND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE CAR IT WILL SHOW AS PARK BUT WILL ACTUALLY SLIP INTO NEUTRAL AND ROLL FORWARD OR BACK IF IN A SLIGHT HILL. ALSO AN MANUFACTURING ERROR IS CAUSING THE CAR TO ABRUPTLY STOP WHILE ON DRIVING. THE RPMS WILL INCREASE BY ITSELF AND THEN SUDDENLY FALL TO 0 AND THE CAR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MOVE. ALL THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WILL STILL BE ON I.E. RADIO , HEAT , LIGHTS BUT THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. IT'S NO WARNING AS TO WHEN IT WILL JUST SUDDENLY STOP SO IT'S EXTREMELY UNSAFE IF DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY.

I BOUGHT MY 2013 FORD FUSION BRAND NEW. I ONLY HAVE 70,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND ZERO ACCIDENTS. I DROVE MY CAR TO THE GYM ON A SATURDAY MORNING AND MADE IT HOME NO PROBLEM. WHEN I WENT OUT TO MY CAR THE FOLLOWING DAY THE DASH LIT UP WITH NOTICES OF "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" THE WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN AND WAS UNDRIVEABLE IN MY DRIVEWAY. I HAVE FOUND COUNTLESS OTHER INCIDENCE OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE YET IT HASN'T BEEN RECALLED AND IT'S AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE FIX. IN THE FIVE YEAR OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE IT'S HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS.
I WAS ON A CITY STREET. I WAS SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE AND THE CAR KEPT ROLLING FORWARD. EVEN WHEN I SHIFT TO WHAT THOUGHT WAS PARK AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TRY TO START AGAIN THE DASH READ CAR NOT IN PARK. I HAD SOMEONE COME TO HELP ME AND FOUND THE BUSHING TO THE SHIFT CABLE SNAPPED. SO HE PLACED A TUBE IN THE HOLE WHERE THE BUSHING WAS TO HOLD IT PLACE TO SHIFT AND GOT ME BAT HOME TO PA. I WENT TO THE FORD DEALER WHO SAID IT WOULD COST $500.00 TO FIX. I CHECKED ONLINE AND THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM BUT NOT MY VIN# WHY NOT THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM AS RECALL# 18S20.

MY 2013 FORD FUSIONS AUTOMATIC STEERING CABLE BUSHING FELL OUT WHILE I WAS IN LINE AT THE BANK. I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE MY VEHICLE AND HAD IT TOWED. WE LOOKED AT RECALLS ON 1/7/2019 AND FOUND A RECALL BUT NOT SPECIFIC TO MY VIN NUMBER. HOW CAN THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO MY VEHICLE AND NOT BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL? I WAS IN DANGER AND HAD TO USE MY PARKING BRAKE IMMEDIATELY WHEN I THOUGHT MY CAR WAS IN PARK.
ON JANUARY 3RD 2019 AROUND 5AM, I SAW A SIGNAL SAYING "ENGINE COOLANT OVER TEMPERATURE" AND ANOTHER ONE REGARDING THE STEERING WHEEL. I THEN NOTICED THAT MY STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED BUT I MANAGED TO PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. A VEHICLE BEHIND ME NOTIFIED ME THAT THERE WAS A FIRE. MY VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE LESS THAN 24 HOURS AFTER LEAVING FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR AN OIL CHANGE. RECORDS ALSO SHOW THAT MY VEHICLE WAS PART OF A RECALL REGARDING THE ENGINE COOLANT, THAT MAY LEAD TO FIRE. I RECEIVED THAT RECALL LETTER DAYS AFTER MY CAR BROKE DOWN DUE TO AN ENGINE COOLANT RELATED ISSUE AND TOWED MY VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST REPAIR SHOP IN 2017. AFTER RECEPTION OF THAT RECALL LETTER, I ALSO MADE SURE TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO FORD SERVICES, WITH THE INVOICE OF THE REPAIR THAT HAD JUST BEEN DONE. THEY TOOK MY CAR TO THEIR SHOP AND REASSURED ME THAT THE RECALL ISSUE WAS RESOLVED BY THE RECENT REPAIR AND FILED FOR A REIMBURSEMENT CHECK FROM FORD, THAT I HAVE RECEIVED. AS OF TODAY, WHEN I PUT MY VIN NUMBER TO VERIFY THE RECALL, IT SAYS "INCOMPLETE". I FILED A CLAIM THROUGH FORD ON JANUARY 4TH 2019, A DAY AFTER THE FIRE AND HAS YET TO HEAR FROM THEM.

THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR CAR, BUT FOR SOME REASON THE VIN DID NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL. COMPLETE STEERING UNIT REQUIRES REPLACING AT COST OF $2700.00. OVER 500 ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. 56,000 MILES APPROX
