TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK DID NOT LATCH WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TEAM FORD LINCOLN (702-395-5100, LOCATED AT 5445 DREXEL RD, LAS VEGAS, NV 89130) WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.
CAR WAS ATTEMPTING TO PARK WHEN THIS HAPPENED: 2013-16 MODEL YEAR FORD FUSION AND 2013-14 FORD ESCAPE VEHICLES TO REPLACE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHINGS. ON AFFECTED VEHICLES, THE BUSHING THAT ATTACHES THE SHIFTER CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION MAY DETACH FROM THE TRANSMISSION. A DEGRADED SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING THAT DETACHES FROM THE TRANSMISSION MAY ALLOW THE TRANSMISSION TO BE IN A GEAR STATE DIFFERENT THAN THE GEAR SHIFT POSITION SELECTED BY THE DRIVER. THE CONDITION COULD ALLOW THE DRIVER TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER TO 'PARK' AND REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY, WHILE THE TRANSMISSION MAY NOT BE IN 'PARK,' WITH NO WARNING MESSAGE OR AUDIBLE CHIME. IF THE PARKING BRAKE IS NOT APPLIED, A DEGRADED SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING THAT DETACHES FROM THE TRANSMISSION COULD RESULT IN UNINTENDED VEHICLE MOVEMENT, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY OR CRASH. CONTACTED FORD DEALERSHIP WITH VIN AND WAS TOLS VIN # DOES NOT MATCH RECALL EVEN THOUGH RECALL WAS MADE IN THE FOURTH YEAR OF OWNERSHIP JULY 2018 AND RECALL MATCHES MY VEHICLE FORD FUSION 2014 YEAR MAKE AND MODEL UNABLE TO CONTACT FORD 800 NUMBEE DUE TO WEEKEND BUSINESS HOURS PLEASE REVIEW ASSIST AND OFFER REMEDY. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE TO WORK ONE MORNING, I STARTED MY VEHICLE, AND PUT IT IN DRIVE. WHEN I HIT THE GAS, I ROLLED BACKWARDS. I NOTICED THE DISPLAY SHOWED ME IN REVERSE EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFTER WAS IN DRIVE. I TRIED SHIFTING GEARS BUT THE DISPLAY STILL HAD ME IN REVERSE EVEN WHEN I SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL AND BACK IN PARK. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND TRIED TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON BUT IT WOULD NOT START BECAUSE THE DISPLAY STILL SHOWED THE TRANSMISSION IN REVERSE EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFTER WAS STILL IN PARK. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE CAR WOULD ROLL FORWARD. I HAD TO USE MY EMERGENCY BRAKE TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING. THIS IS IS A KNOWN RECALL BUT FOR SOME REASON MY VEHICLE'S VIN NUMBER WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL SO I HAD TO PAY FOR TOWING AND REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET.
IN THE SUMMER OF LAST YEAR 2018 I WAS IN A STORE SHOPPING CAME OUT CRANKED MY CAR, THE AIR WOULD NOT COME ON AND THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT ROLL DOWN. IT WAS IN THE 90'S THAT DAY AND EVEN HOTTER INSIDE MY CAR! THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME IN THE PARKING LOT. IT HAD THIS PROBLEM THE REST OF THE SUMMER WHILE THE TEMPERATURES OUTSIDE WAS HOT. IT IS APRIL 2019 AND JUST A FEW DAYS AGO WE HAD A WARM DAY AROUND 75 DEGREES. I LEFT FOR WORK STOPPED AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY HAD THE CAR IN PARK AND LEFT MY DOOR OPEN WHILE I GOT THE MAIL. GOT BACK IN AND AGAIN DID NOT HAVE AIR AND COULD NOT ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS THE RADIO WILL NOT WORK EITHER. LAST YEAR DURING THE TIME THE AIR AND WINDOWS WERE NOT WORKING MY BATTERY WAS DEAD WHEN I WAS GOING TO GO TO WORK ONE MORNING. TOOK IT OUT AND WENT AND HAD IT TESTED AT LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE. THEY SAID THEY HAD NEVER SEEN A BATTERY THAT THEY COULDN'T READ LIKE THAT BEFORE. IT'S LIKE THE BATTERY WAS FRIED. ALONG WITH THOSE PROBLEMS LAST YEAR MY CAR WAS STATIONARY AT HOME IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I WENT TO GET IN MY CAR AND MY DOORS WERE LOCKED I TRIED THE REMOTE AND THE KEYLESS ENTRY AND NOTHING WOULD UNLOCK MY DOORS. SO I HAD NO ACCESS TO GET INTO MY CAR. A FEW DAYS LATER I TRIED AGAIN AND IT UNLOCKED. I'VE ALSO CAME HOME A COUPLE TIMES AT NIGHT IN THE PAST WEEK AND NOTICED THE INSIDE LIGHTS WHERE THE AIR/HEAT & RADIO CONTROLS ARE IS FLASHING ON AND OFF AND THE OUTSIDE GROUND LIGHTS UNDER THE MIRRORS ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR ARE ON. I HAD TO UNHOOK BATTERY. NO KEYS IN IGNITION AND CAR IS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY. I THINK THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOU HAVE NO AIR AND YOU CAN'T ROLL DOWN YOUR WINDOWS IN HOT WEATHER AND ALSO WHEN YOU GET LOCKED OUT OF YOUR CAR. THE CAR IS DEFINITELY NOT DRIVABLE IN HOT WEATHER! UNKNOWN CAUSE, MAY POSSIBLY BE SOMETHING IN THE COMPUTER OR WIRING OF THE CAR.
MY PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT LATCH OR STAY SHUT. MY VIN DIDN'T RECOGNIZE THE RECALL. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH MY SITUATION SEEMS IDENTICAL TO FORDS RECALL 15S16 OR ( 17V-210) FORD RECALLED 390K VEHICLES SPANNING THE YEAR MY VEHICLE WAS PRODUCED. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE IS AFFECTED BY A FAULTY DOOR LATCH THAT FORD HAS FAILED TO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS OCCURRED HOWEVER THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH UNDER ANY CONDITION NOW. I HAVE TO USE A RATCHET STRAP TO KEEP THE DOOR SHUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND IN THE PARK POSITION, IT REVERSED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT RAN OUTSIDE, OPENED THE DRIVER'S DOOR, AND APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO CRASH OR INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO YEMM FORD, INC. (2201 W MAIN ST, GALESBURG, IL 61401, (888) 420-6993) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 205,208.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING WAS FAULTY. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. IN ADDITION, THE POWER STEERING AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND "ASSIST POWER STEERING" APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PARISH FORD (2900 RIVER RD W, GOOCHLAND, VA 23063, (804) 556-4444) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW STEERING COLUMN AND/OR POWER STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE WARRANTY MILEAGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER IN 2015 FOR REPAIRS AT 84,000 MILES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER STARTED COUNTING AT 84,000 MILES AND NOT FROM WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 216,022.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ASHLAND FORD CHRYSLER (28715 US-2, ASHLAND, WI 54806) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTERNAL STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. AFTER ADDING FUEL IN THE VEHICLE AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED. AN ABNORMAL HUMMING NOISE EMERGED FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED ROYAL OAK FORD (27550 WOODWARD AVE, ROYAL OAK, MI 48067, (248) 548-4100), BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE PURGE VALVE CANISTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,750. *DT *TR
CAR ACCELERATES AND DECELERATES SOMETIMES SPUTTERS BAD WHEN IN REVERSE. WRENCH ICON COMES ON. FORD REPLACED THE WIRE HARNESS AND PIGTAIL FOR AN EXPENSIVE COST TO ME BUT NOW ITS DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. ALL THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING DOWN CITY STREETS.
POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE IS MALFUNCTIONING. THIS IS CAUSING MY STEERING TO ACT ON IT'S OWN. THE CAR AT TIMES WILL TRY TO TURN ON IT'S OWN, OTHER TIMES IT TRIES TO COUNTER STEER WHILE GOING AROUND BENDS. THE FASTER YOU GO THE WORSE IT GETS.
TAKATA RECALL- STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS ARE NOT WORKING, INCLUDING TURN SIGNALS AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS; BLUETOOTH NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. PHONE CONNECTS, BUT THERE IS NO CONNECTION WHEN PLAYING MUSIC FROM DEVICE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR OPENED ON ITS OWN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR LATCH WOULD NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. MADISON COUNTY FORD LINCOLN (6012 ATWOOD DR, RICHMOND, KY 40475) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V210000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 151,000.
CAR SHIFTS EXTREMELY HARD OUT OF PARK AFTER SITTING FOR AN HOUR OR MORE. ALSO SHIFTS VERY HARD INTO 3RD GEAR WHILE DRIVING, REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH THROTTLE YOU GIVE IT.
TRANSMISSION HAS A HUGE DELAY WHEN CALLING FOR POWER, WONT DOWNSHIFT WHEN IT SHOULD, SHIFTS HARD AT TIMES RANDOMLY. DELAY CAUSES ENGINE WIND UP AND SUDDEN BURSTS OF ACCELERATION MAKING STOPPING A LOT HARDER AND ROUGHER.
FORD AS WELL AS PAT MILLIKEN FORD IN REDFORD MICHIGAN ALLOWED ME TO UNSAFELY DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT HAD AN OPEN RECALL FOR A SHIFT CABLE BUSHING DUE TO THE FACT SOEMONE IN THERE DEPARTMENT 'MISTAKENLY' MARKED MY VEHICLE RECALL AS REPAIRED ON FEBRUARY 13TH, 2019 TOTAL SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KELLY FORD (420 CABOT STREET, BEVERLY, MA 01915, (888) 865-9541) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT WAS FAULTY AND THE TRANSMISSION AXLE WAS LEAKING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED; THEREFORE, THEY WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
ON 6/29/17 I HAD A RECALL FOR THE DOOR LATCHES THEY WERE ALL REPLACED, I HAD 42,984 MILES, IN 2019 UNTIL NOW 2020 I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT MY DRIVER DOOR NOT LATCHING AND THE " DRIVER DOOR AJAR" MESSAGE APPEARS ON THE DASH I HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF TIMES WHERE I WAS DRIVING AND HAD TO PULL OFF TO CLOSE THE DOOR I TOOK IT A MONTH AGO WITH THIS COMPLAINT , BUT OF COURSE THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE, SO I CALLED A FORD REP CUSTOMER SERVICE, SHE SAID YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I SAID I DID SEVERAL TIMES BUT IT DOESN'T DO IT FOR THEM, WELL NOW I SEE 2014 FORD FUSION IS HAVING ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE DOOR LATCHES BUT MINE ISN'T ONE OF THEM FOR THE RECALL, IT SHOULD BE BECAUSE I AND WHOEVER DRIVES MY CAR ARE IN DANGER OF THE DOOR FLYING OPEN AND SOMEONE FALLING OUT , SO I FEEL MY CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED AGAIN FOR FAULTY LATCHES
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY CAR STARTED TO SAY THAT IT THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE IS OVER HEATINGS PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF YET.AFTER SITTING FOR OVER 3 HOURS THE CAR STILL ALERTS ME THAT THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE IS HIGH. I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR.
SHIFT CABLE OFF TRANSMISSION CABLE BUSHING. PARKED AT WORK, SHIFTED TO PARK AND TOOK FOOT OFF BRAKE AND BEGAN ROLLING. SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION BUT CAR WAS IN DRIVE. USED E-BRAKE AVOID ROLLING INTO VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME. BOB ALLEN FORD IN OVERLAND PARK, KS COMPLETED THE REPAIRS AND NOTED "C/S THE CAR WILL NOT START IT THINKS IT IS IN DRIVE FOUND SHIFT CABLE OFF TRANSMISSION REPLACED CABLE BUSHING AND ADJUSTED CABLE, VERIFIED OPERATION. THIS IS KNOWN RECALL ON 2013 AND 2014 FORD FUSIONS MANUFACTURED AT THE HERMOSILLO MEXICO PLANT, BUT MY CAR MANUFACTURED IN DECEMBER OF 2013, DOES NOT FALL WITHIN THE DATES ON THE RECALL SO I WAS REQUIRED TO PAY FOR REPAIRS, PARTS, LABOR, AND A TOW TO THE SERVICE CENTER TOTALING $447.12. ADVISED BY BOB ALLEN FORD TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND/OR CONTACT FORD ABOUT THE ISSUE AND REQUEST A REFUND.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,710.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.

THE DEALER PLACED DYE IN THE VEHICLE TO DETERMINE WHERE THE OIL LEAK WAS ORIGINATING, BUT THEY WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS EMAILED AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A REPLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.

WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE, THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS ENGAGED; HOWEVER, UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE, IT MOVED IN REVERSE. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GREEN FORD (LOCATED AT 2211 W PIONEER PKWY, PEORIA, IL 61615, (309) 693-2525) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLIP FRACTURED AND THE SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,668. THE VIN WAS INVALID.

THE CONTACT CONTACTED A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,567.
MARCH 7 2019 I TURNED MY CAR ON NOTICED MY HEAT WAS NOT ON AND MY SEAT DID NOT MOVE, TURNED MY CAR OFF AND ON STILL WASN'T WORKING, TOUCH SCREEN WASN'T WORKING, PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS DIDN'T WORK THE DRIVER SIDE DID, THERE WASN'T ANYTHING SHOWING THAT THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG. DROVE HOME WITHOUT ANY HEAT, WHEN I GOT HOME I TURNED IT OFF AND ON, THEN EVERYTHING WORKED FINE. MARCH 10, I WAS DRIVING NO WARNING LIGHTS, MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF DRIVING THROUGH MY APARTMENT ON THE WAY TO STORE THEN IT TURNED BACK ON. THEN I DROVE FOR A COUPLE HOURS WENT TO ANOTHER STORE LEFT MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR WITH THE DOG AND SOME MUSIC THEN IT SAID THAT IT WAS GOING TO SHUT DOWN TO CONSERVE BATTERY, MY CAR WAS DEAD COULDN'T TURN OVER I HAD TO GET A JUMP TO GET IT TO START. TOOK IT TO A SHOP MARCH 11 THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR AND THERE WAS NO CODES.
THERE IS A RECALL ON FORD FUSIONS FOR SHIFTER CABLE COMING LOOSE WHICH OCCURRED TO MY FUSION I WAS INFORMED AT THE FORD DEALER THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL SO I HAD TO PAY $500 TO HAVE IT REPAIRED.SINCE THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE SAME YEAR MODEL VEHICLES IN THE RECALL , I THINK ALL FUSIONS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN RECALL BEFORE SOME ONE IS IN AN ACCIDENT OR INJURED
THIS IS A 2014 FORD FUSION TITANIUM. 42,*** MILES ON THE CAR. MY CAR IS A CERTIFIED PREOWED CAR. I JUST STARTED MY CAR IN THE MORNING AND 3 DIFFERENT WARNINGS CAME ON. THE CAR WASN'T MOVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED. CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. DRIVEN THE NIGHT BEFORE NO PROBLEMS. I HAVEN'T HIT ANYTHING OR ANY OTHER SERVICE PERFORMED SINCE LAST OIL CHANGE. LIGHTS THAT CAME ON STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED, HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC. THESE ARE THE LIGHT AND WARNINGS THAT CAME ON. THIS MAKES IT TO WHERE THE CAR HAD NO POWER STEERING AND VERY HARD TO MOVE THE WHEEL. I HAD TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY'RE CURRENTLY LOOKING AT IT FOR THE CAUSE. I DO HAVE A VIDEO OF THE WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON.
THE PROBLEM BEGAN IN FEBRUARY 2019 WHEN THE DESCRIBED CAR BEGAN TO STALL WHILE IN DRIVE, REVERSE AND/OR PARK. CAR SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND THEN DIES STATING 'PRESS BRAKE TO START'. AFTER THE CAR IS PUT IN PARK, TURNED OFF AND BACK ON, CAR RESUMES NORMAL FUNCTION. AFTER FIRST TAKING IN THE CAR, THE TURBOCHARGER WAS FOUND TO BE THE CULPRIT. AFTER GETTING A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR DONE, THE PROBLEM RETURNED SHORTLY AFTER. TRAVELING ACROSS THE COUNTRY, THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN. AFTER RETURNING HOME AND HAVING MORE WORK DONE, THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO HAPPEN. WHEN ON CITY ROADS, IN THE DRIVEWAY OR PARKING LOTS, THE STALLING CONTINUED. IN ONLY NINE MONTHS, THE NEW SPARK PLUGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND TWO ENGINE COILS HAD FAILED. THEN AFTER THIS WORK WAS COMPLETED, THE PROBLEM CONTINUED BUT NO ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME ON. THEN IN DECEMBER 2019 THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO A FORD DEALERSHIP IN KANSAS TO BE DIAGNOSED. AFTER CLAIMING THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED WORK OR EVEN WORSE POSSIBLE REPLACEMENT, I WAS FACED WITH THE QUESTION OF WHETHER OR NOT TO KEEP THE CAR. AFTER THE CAR WAS FINISHED AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO REPAIR DONE OTHER THAN A RECALL, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE PROBLEM BECAME WORSE: MORE FREQUENT AND MORE INTENSE SHAKING. AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS MADE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ABOUT AFTER MARKET WARRANTY COVERAGE ON THE REPAIR, THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT CALLED BACK.
MY CARS ENGINE SHUTS OFF AFTER ACCELERATING WITH NO WARNING. NO ENGINE LIGHTS COME ON DURING THE PROCESS AND MY CAR REMAINS IN MOTION BUT CAN'T ACCELERATE. THE CAR STARTS TO SHAKE VIGOROUSLY WHEN RIGHT BEFORE SHUTTING OFF. I NEED TO SHUT OFF THE CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON TO GET IT GOING, BUT IT BECOMES DANGEROUS WHEN ON THE ROAD. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO CAN'T DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE. THIS ISSUE ONLY HAPPENS AFTER A SECOND STARTUP OF THE VEHICLE WITHIN AN HOUR TIME OF SHUTTING OFF THE VEHICLE FOR THE FIRST TIME. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AFTER THE SECOND FAILED DRIVE, EVERYTHING WORKS CORRECTLY AGAIN. ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS KEEP WORKING WHEN THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. HAPPENED 12 DIFFERENT TIMES FOR ME SINCE FEBRUARY.
PARKING BRAKE CAME ON WITHOUT BEING TOUCHED BY THE DRIVER. LOCKED THE REAR WHEELS. VERY DANGEROUS. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT LOW SPEED ON A SUBURBAN STREET, WHILE DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. AFTER THE EVENT, TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, WHERE WE HAVE ALL THE SERVICE WORK DONE. FORD FOUND NO ERROR CODES IN COMPUTER AND COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM ON TEST DRIVES, AND AS A RESULT SAID THEY COULD NOT FIX THE CAR. IF THIS HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY OR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THIS VEHICLE DEFECT COULD RESULT IN FATALITIES. FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS.
TAKATA RECALL - I WAS TRYING TO PARK MY CAR AND AS I MOVED THE GEAR SHIFT TO REVERSE THE DASH REFLECTED THAT THE CAR WAS STILL IN DRIVE. ONLY WAY I COULD GET MY CAR TO STOP WAS PUTTING ON THE EMERGENCY BREAK. I DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE RECALL NUMBER 18V471000 BUT BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT LISTED FOR THE RECALL FORD DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX IT WITHOUT CHARGE.
MY CAR IS A 2014 FORD FUSION I PURCHASED AT THE DEALERSHIP 2 YEARS AGO. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL RECENTLY. AFTER I TURN ON MY CAR AND SWITCH GEAR TO "DRIVE" MY CAR WILL SHUT DOWN WITHIN 20 FEET. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PROBLEM. I WAS ADVISED IT WILL COST ME $110.00 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC, WHICH I PAID. I WAITED FOR 4 HOURS AND ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC THE ANTIFREEZE IS MIXING WITH THE ENGINE OIL AND THAT'S WHAT CAUSE THE CAR TO STALL OCCASIONALLY AND THE COST OF REPAIR WILL BE $2,100.00. WHEN I CHECKED THE CAR ALONG WITH A PERSONAL MECHANIC THERE IS NO INDICATION OF ANYTHING MIXING WITH THE ENGINE OIL, THE OIL IS CLEAN IS NOT MILKY AND IT SMELLS FINE. BOTTOM LINE I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS SERIOUS ISSUE AND EVEN MORE SO THAT FORD DEALERSHIP WAS SO DISHONEST ABOUT THE CAR SYMPTOMS. SHIFTER CABLE DETERIORATED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO NOT GO TO "PARK". THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT AND WOULD NOT START DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I PUT THE PARKING BRAKE ON TO PREVENT ROLLING AWAY.
DRIVING STEADY STATE ON NORMAL STATE HIGHWAY ROAD SURFACE IN DRY DAYLIGHT CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE BEGAN CHIMING AND DISPLAYING A LONG SEQUENCE OF ERROR MESSAGES AND MILS. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, SPEEDOMETER ZEROED AND CLUSTER LOST POWER. CENTER STACK THEN LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE HAD NO EXTERIOR LIGHTS, NO HORN. VEHICLE "BELIEVES" IGNITION IS OFF, THEREFORE NO AIRBAGS. AFTER PULLING OVER AND A KEY OFF/ KEY ON, VEHICLE WAS NORMAL FOR A COUPLE MINUTES, THEN REPEATED THIS PROBLEM. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS FOR THIS INTERMITTENT ISSUE. FIRST ISSUE WAS WITH VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY AND DEALER FOUND NO PROBLEM OTHER THAN LONG LIST OF CODES. 2ND DEALER IN DEC 2018 PERFORMED REPAIR DETAILED ON TSB TO WRAP CHAFFED WIRE. PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN JAN 23 AND 26, 2019. ADDITIONALLY TODAY VEHICLE WILL NOT START.
