WITH THE KEY FOB IN THE FRONT SEAT, ON THE FLOOR BOARD, THE DOORS WERE ABLE TO BE LOCKED. THIS RESULTED WITH MY KEY FOB BEING LOCKED IN THE CAR., AND I WAS LEFT IN THE HEAT WITH FROZEN FOOD AFTER GROCERY SHOPPING. *TR
FROM DATE OF PURCHASE TO 9/24/14 I NOTICED CLOUDY BLOTCHES AND STREAKS VARYING IN NUMBER AND SIZE ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTION LOOKING AND TYPE OF DAY ON THE REAR WINDOW. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THE WINDOW JUST HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED WELL. LOOKING THROUGH THE REAR VIEW MIRROR THESE AREAS AFFECT THE DRIVERS VISUAL FIELD BY DISTORTING AND DISTRACTING THE DRIVER VIEW. THE FORD MECHANIC VERIFIED SEEING THIS & NOTIFIED FORD DEALER HOT LINE WHO ALSO VERIFIED THIS ISSUE WAS PRESENT. ALSO THAT THIS ISSUE OCCURS DURING THE TEMPERING PROCESS OF THE GLASS & THAT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. I FEEL THAT A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE IS PRESENT DUE TO THIS ISSUE WHICH AFFECTS VISUAL FIELD OF DRIVERS & BECAUSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET USE TO IT BECAUSE THE BLOTCHES & STREAKS CHANGE CONTINUALLY ACCORDING TO TYPE OF DAY FROM SUNNY TO CLOUDY OR DIRECTION DRIVING IN OR JUST HOW U MIGHT BE LOOKING AT IT. *TR
TRANSMISSION SLIPS. SHUDDERS AND SHAKES SHIFTING INTO GEAR FROM A STOP.
RAINING: THE HIGHEST SPEED SETTING WAS NOT FAST ENOUGH TO CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, CITY AND HAD TO PULL OVER DUE TO THE HIGH SPEED FOR THE WIPER IS NO DIFFERENT THEN BEING ON LOW SPEED. VERY DANGEROUS. DEFINITELY NOT ENOUGH TO CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD IN MODERATE RAIN LET ALONE WHEN HEAVY RAIN WILL COME. FRONT END: EVERY TIME YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL I GET A CLUNKING NOISE AND YOU CAN FEEL IT IN THE GAS PEDAL. THIS HAS BEEN A ONGOING PROBLEM. *TR
ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS WHEN TURNING LEFT USUALLY A HARD LEFT TURN AND USUALLY WHEN I PARK THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT AND THE DASH LIGHTS UP. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES AND THEY CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM BUT IF THE STEERING GOES OUT ON A TURN AT A HIGHER SPEED IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE DEALER SAID WHEN THE PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN TO DRIVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND DON'T TURN OFF THE CAR AND THAT ONLY WORKS IF THEY ARE OPEN. I AM CONCERNED!!! *TR
I WAS EXITING A FREEWAY WHEN I EXPERIENCED MY FIRST PROBLEM. IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, MY CAR SHUT OFF AND I LOST MOST FUNCTIONALITY OF THE VEHICLE. THE DASHBOARD DISPLAYED AN ALERT TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK. I WAS DRIVING NORMALLY AND DID NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS OR MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS TO THE GEARS. HE ONLY THING THAT WAS FUNCTIONING WAS THE BRAKES AND STEERING WHEEL, I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE GAS. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. I WAS SPEEDING UP TO GET ON TO THE FREEWAY WHEN MY CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN, DISPLAYING THE SAME MESSAGE. HOWEVER, THIS TIME, BECAUSE IT WAS NIGHT, THE LIGHTS POWERED OFF AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO SEE WHAT WAS AHEAD OF ME. I TURNED ON MY HAZARDS AND WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE, PLACE THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART THE IGNITION AND CONTINUE ON. I CALLED ABOUT THE ISSUE AS SOON AS THE FORD DEALERSHIP OPENED THE NEXT DAY. THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT RIGHT IN. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN BEFORE I HAD A CHANCE TO BRING IT IN. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I WAS TRYING TO PASS AN 18 WHEELER. I SUCCESSFULLY PASSED THE TRUCK, BUT AFTER I DID, THE POWER SHUT OFF AGAIN AND I WAS SANDWICHED BETWEEN TWO 18 WHEELERS.THE NEXT DAY, I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOOK IT OFF MY HANDS FOR ABOUT A WEEK WHILE THEY TESTED IT FOR PROBLEMS. I RECEIVED A CALL AND THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT THEY FIXED A CABLE THAT APPEARED TO BE LOOSE THAT MIGHT HAVE LED TO THE PROBLEM, AND ALSO GAVE THE CAR A SOFTWARE UPDATE. I WAS PLEASED WITH THE RESPONSE.A WEEK LATER I WAS DRIVING BACK HOME WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN. I IMMEDIATELY DROVE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. I CALLED THE FORD CARE TEAM AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD OPEN A CASE FOR A BUYBACK.ON SEPT 23, I RECEIVED A VOICEMAIL FROM THE DEALERSHIP SAYING THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX THE VEHICLE BECAUSE WHEN THEY TESTED IT WAS FUNCTIONING AS IT SHOULD. THEY CAN AND WILL NOT FIX OR REPLACE THE VEHICLE. *TR
DRIVING TO WORK WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT BECAME INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND CONTROL CAR. I WAS VEERING AT FIRST TO THE LEFT THEN TO THE RIGHT. I TRIED NOT TO HIT THE PERSON ON MY RIGHT AND SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES, WHICH CAUSED ME TO FISHTAIL AND HIT THE GUY ANYWAY. MY REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY GONE-ONLY A RIM REMAINED. THIS CAR HAS BARELY 800 MILES ON IT....SCARY AND SAD FOR THE GUY I HIT...ME-COMPLETELY SPOOKED AND VERY DISAPPOINTED ALBEIT GRATEFUL TO BE ALIVE AND NOT RUN OVER BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC...:( *TR
IN NEW 2014 FUSION WITH 1500 MILES, IT HAS LEFT ME STRANDED THREE TIMES WITH A DEAD BATTERY. THIS MEANS YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE DOOR HANDLE TO ENTER THE CAR. YOU ALSO CANNOT MOVE THE CAR OUT OF THE GARAGE BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION IS LOCKED IN PARK. YOU CANNOT OPEN ANY DOOR EXCEPT THE DRIVERS DOOR AND YOU MUST TAKE APART THE CENTER CONSOLE TO DIS-ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION LOCK. YOU CANNOT OPEN THE TRUNK. HAD PROBLEM TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES WITH TWO NEW BATTERIES AND NO SOLUTION. DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO MORE THAN A 10 MILLIAMP DRAW WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT OPERATING. OWNER'S MANUAL STATES THE "AUTOLAMP" SYSTEM SHUT DOWN ALL POWER AFTER TIME PERIOD FOLLOWING IGNITION SWITCH OFF IS OBVIOUSLY NOT WORKING. *TR
HEADLINER IS FALLING DOWN AND BLOCKING DRIVER'S VIEW OUT THE REAR WINDOW. CAR HAD 3 ATTEMPTS AT A REPAIR, INCLUDING A "ROBUST" REPAIR BY FORD ENGINEERS, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM PERSISTS AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT FORD IS UNWILLING TO REPLACE THE HEADLINER AS PROMISED, DUE TO UNAVAILABLE PART AND THE FACT THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. WE WERE TOLD THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH OTHER FORD FUSION VEHICLES. *TR
EARLY ON IN OWNERSHIP AND UNDER HEAVY ACCELERATION FROM A DEAD STOP, THE FRONT TIRES (GOODYEAR EAGLE 235/45R18 98Y) WOULD LOCK, HOP, SKIP UNTIL ACCELERATION REDUCE. AS OF MID-DECEMBER, UNDER EVEN LIGHT ACCELERATION FROM A DEAD STOP GOING UP HILL, THE FRONT TIRES WOULD LOCK, HOP, SKIP. THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THE EXISTENCE OF THE PROBLEM 11/24/2014. THE DEALERSHIP TESTED THE ISSUE PER FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND FOUND THAT FUSIONS WITH THE SAME TIRES PRODUCED THE SAME UNWANTED RESULTS. THOUGH FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, IT WILL NOT AUTHORIZED TIRE REPLACEMENT TO FORD FUSIONS WITH THE ECO-BOOST, 2.L ENGINES VEHICLES. FORD'S POSITION, ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, IS THAT THE MOUNTED GOODYEAR TIRES ARE SOLD AS "SPORT" TIRES AND AS "SUMMER" TIRES. VIRGINIA HAS FOUR SEASONS AND FORD SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT THE MOUNTED TIRES WERE NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THE ANNUAL CLIMATE CHANGES IN THIS STATE. *JS
INTERIOR HAS EXTREMELY STRONG MOLD/MILDEW SMELL. PRIOR MODEL YEAR HAD A TSB POSTED FOR FAULTY AC DUCT WORK/MATERIALS. *TR
THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED W/ FORD'S DRIVER ASSIST PACKAGE WHICH INCLUDES BLIS (BLIND SPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM). BLIS ONLY WORKS AS DESCRIBED 50% AT BEST AND EVEN THEN IS WHOLLY INADEQUATE AND NO BETTER THAN NOT HAVING. WHEN BLIS DOES WORK, BY THE TIME THE INDICATOR TRIGGERS THE VEHICLE TRIGGERING IT WAS ALREADY IN THE BLIND SPOT. BLIS TYPICALLY DOES NOT INDICATE WHEN A VEHICLE IS IN THE BLIND SPOT AND TENDS TO BE TRIGGERED EVEN WHEN NO VEHICLE IS PRESENT. IF THE VEHICLE IN/APPROACHING THE BLIND SPOT IS MOVING FAST ENOUGH (35+ MPH), BY THE TIME THE INDICATOR COMES ON THE VEHICLE HAD ALREADY COME AND GONE; THAT'S IF THE INDICATOR WAS TRIGGERED AT ALL. THE INDICATOR IS ALSO ON THE FAR END OF THE MIRROR AND ONLY A SMALL LITTLE LIGHT WHICH DISTRACTS THE DRIVER DUE TO HAVING TO TURN EYES/HEAD FAR ENOUGH TO THE SIDE TO SEE THE INDICATOR. THE MAIN REASON FOR THE COMPLAINT IS THAT NON-DRIVER ASSIST PACKAGE FORD FUSION MODELS COME STANDARD WITH BLIND SPOT MIRRORS WHICH ALLOWS THE DRIVER TO SEE THE BLIND SPOTS WITHOUT HAVING TO TURN THE HEAD (TURNING THE HEAD WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASES THE LIKELIHOOD OF AN ACCIDENT) BUT THE DRIVER ASSIST PACKAGE MODELS ONLY HAVE BLIS AND BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION OF THE INDICATOR THE DRIVER CANNOT ADD A THIRD PARTY BLIND SPOT MIRROR TO AUGMENT THE INEFFECTIVE BLIS. BLIS SHOULD BE IN ADDITION TO THE BLIND SPOT MIRRORS, NOT REPLACE THEM WHEN THEY DO NOT MEET THE SAME FUNCTIONS AND DOES NOT WORK AS DESCRIBED (EVEN WHEN TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE TIMES WHEN FORD SAYS BLIS DOES NOT WORK). THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO FORD'S ATTENTION TO NO AVAIL. THERE HAVE ALREADY BEEN SEVERAL TIMES WHEN DRIVING THAT I'VE PERSONALLY ALMOST HIT SOMEONE BECAUSE THE INDICATOR WAS NOT TRIGGERED OR WHEN HAVING TO TURN MY HEAD TO DOUBLE CHECK WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, BOTH OF WHICH WERE NOT AN ISSUE WITH MY PREVIOUS NON-DRIVER ASSIST PACKAGE MODEL. *TR

WHILE DRIVING DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO WIPE FAST ENOUGH TO REMOVE RAIN FROM THE WINDSHIELD, DESPITE IF IT WERE MODERATE OR HEAVY RAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE, BUT INDICATED THAT THE WIPERS WERE OPERATING NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
AIR CONDITIONING FAILURE WHICH ALLOWS FOR NON-COOLING OF HV BATTERY IN ENERGI. VEHICLE FORCED INTO HYBRID MODE TO "COOL BATTERY" THOUGH IT IS UNCLEAR WHETHER THERE WAS ANY CAPACITY TO COOL HV BATTERY DUE TO COMPLETELY DEPLETED FREON. CONCERN OVER HV BATTERY CAPACITY COMPARED TO OTHER FUSION ENERGI MODELS. *TR
VEHICLE WAS ON CRUISE CONTROL (65 MPH), TAPPED BRAKES TO SLOW AROUND A CURVE, VEHICLE LOST POWER(CURVE LEFT ). NO INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON, COASTED TO STOP ON SHOULDER. TURNED OFF IGNITION. RESTARTED VEHICLE, RESUMED TRIP. *TR
CAR HAD PREVIOUSLY LOST FULL POWER AND BRAKES IN APRIL, INCIDENT REPEATED ITSELF THIS TIME 5500 MILES LATER WHILE AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. CAR LOST POWER BRAKES AND STEERING, WAS ABLE TO COST TO A STOP. AFTER STOPPING CAR LOCKED ITSELF IN PARK AND ENGAGED THE PARKING BRAKE, MAKING TOWING VERY DIFFICULT. AFTER NUMEROUS RESTARTS ERROR LIGHTS DISAPPEARED AND THE CAR DROVE FINE AND WAS ABLE TO BE MOVED OUT OF TRAFFIC. AFTER STOPPING CAR LOCKED ITSELF IN PARK AGAIN AND WOULD NO LONGER FUNCTION. DEALER HAS NO IDEA HOW TO FIX THIS ISSUE, HAD THIS OCCURRED WITH HIGH TRAFFIC IT WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A CRASH. FORD WAS CONTACTED TO ATTEMPT BUY BACK PROGRAM. *TR
I HAD MY 2014 FORD FUSION BROUGHT TO WALMART FOR AN OIL CHANGE ON JULY 11, 2014. THE TECHNICIANS COMMENT ON THE SERVICE ORDER/RECEIPT STATED TRANSMISSION IS LEAKING. THE TECHNICIAN INVITED TO THEIR WORK AREA AND SHOWED ME THE LEAK. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. I DROPPED OFF THE CAR TO THEM ON JULY 28, 2014 AROUND 5:00 PM. ON THE FOLLOWING DAY, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THEM TELLING ME THAT THE CAR WAS FIXED. THE PROBLEM WAS THE ? LEFT FRONT AXLE SEAL LEAKS. RESEARCHING ON THE INTERNET, I FOUND OUT THIS IS NOT REALLY AN ISOLATED CASE. FOR SOME REASON, I NOW HAVE A FEELING THAT THIS MAY NOT BE THE LAST TIME I WILL BE DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM SINCE ONLY THE SEAL WAS REPLACED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SPUN AROUND AND THE FRONT END WAS STRUCK BY A SECOND VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE TAIL BONE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
FORWARD COLLISION WARNING.THIS SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO WARN YOU THAT THE CAR IS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND YOU APPROACHES CAR OR IF HE PULLS IN FRONT OF YOU SLOWS DOWN QUICK TO GIVE YOU SUFFICIENT TIME TO STOP.ON MY CAR YOU HAVE TO BE 10 FEET FROM THE OTHER CAR OR AT TIMES IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. TO PROVE THIS I HAVE RUN MANY TESTS. THE DEALER SAYS WHEN FOLLOWING CLOSELY BEHIND A VEHICLE OR ONE STOPS QUICKLY IN FRONT OF YOU THE RED LIGHTS ARE NOT COMING ON THE AND ACTIVATING THE DRIVER ASSISTED BRAKING. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY TROUBLE AND THEY SAY EVERYTHING IS WORKING CORRECTLY. THE SAID ALSO THE FRONT CRASH SENSORS ARE NOT WORKING AND BEING TOO CLOSE TO THE VEHICLE FRONT OF THEM. I BELIEVE FORD HAS ENGINEERED SYSTEM POORLY AND IT COULD BE A DANGER TO MANY FAMILIES DEPENDING ON THIS IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO QUICKLY PREVENT ANY POSSIBILITY OF A REAR END CRASH AND TO WARN THEM BEFORE THE COLLISION OCCURS. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SHOW YOU ON THIS FORM A VIDEO TO SHOWING YOU HOW THE SYSTEM SHOULD PERFORM. HOPE YOU LOOK INTO THIS MATTER QUICKLY BEFORE IT CAUSES THE BAD REAR END COLLISION. THANK YOU *TR
BOUGHT A NEW 2014 FORD FUSION SE EGO BOOST IN JULY OF 2014. WHEN FUEL TANK IS FULL, THERE IS A LOUD AND DISTINCT RATTLING NOISE ORIGINATING FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR WHICH APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK. INITIAL INSPECTION BY FORD FAILED TO DETERMINE THE NATURE OF THE PROBLEM AS THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE NOISE. DRIVING THE CAR FOR SEVERAL WEEKS LED ME TO DETERMINE THAT THE NOISE WAS PRESENT ONLY WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO FORD TWICE, BOTH TIMES WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THE NOISE IS "NORMAL" BUT THERE IS NOTHING NORMAL ABOUT IT. I'VE ESCALATED MY CONCERNS TO FORD'S CORPORATE OFFICE AND THE WOMAN I SPOKE TO TOLD ME THAT THE NOISE IS INHERENT IN THE DESIGN AND NOT A SAFETY PROBLEM, I TOLD HER THAT ANYTIME A FUEL TANK IS VIBRATING AND HITTING EITHER THE EXHAUST OR THE UNDER BODY OF THE CAR IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. SHE TOLD ME THAT HER TECH HAVE INFORMED HER THAT THE NOISE IS COMING FROM BAD BAFFLES IN THE TANK, I TOLD HER THAT WHO EVER SAID THAT THINKS THAT I AM STUPID AND THAT I CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A RATTLE AND A BAFFLE PROBLEM. SHE REPEATED IT NOT A SAFETY CONCERN. I TOLD HER THAT IT MAY NOT SEEM THAT WAY NOW, BUT YEARS DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE FUEL STARTS TO LEAK FROM YEARS OF RUBBING IT WILL BE BECAUSE AT THAT TIME A FIRE OR EXPLOSION WILL HAPPEN. AT THIS POINT FORD REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING TO FIX THIS ISSUE. *TR

MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING SOUTH ON I-95 IN FLORIDA. UNBEKNOWNST TO ME, MY WIFE'S BLOUSE CAUGHT ON THE ELECTRIC EMERGENCY BRAKE LOCATED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CENTER CONSOLE AND THIS MOMENTARILY ENGAGED IT. OUR CAR SCREECHED AND LURCHED FORWARD AS THE BRAKE TRIED TO ENGAGE. WHEN SHE FINALLY DISENGAGED HER CLOTHING FROM THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LEVER, THE CAR RETURNED TO NORMAL OPERATION. MIND YOU ALL OF THIS HAPPENED AT 70 MPH! FIRST, WHY WOULD THAT SWITCH BE ACTIVE WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING? UNLIKE A MANUAL EMERGENCY BRAKE OPERATED BY A LEVER, THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE GOES "FULL ON" AT ENGAGEMENT, MAKING IT PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS IF IT ACCIDENTALLY BECOMES ENGAGED WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING, ESPECIALLY AT HIGH SPEED. SECOND, I WAS LUCKY AS TRAFFIC WAS PRETTY LIGHT AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT. 2014 FORD FUSION TITANIUM LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER ON 03/03/2014 WHEN MY WIFE PULLED INTO THE GARAGE. SHE SAID THAT SHE TRIED TO REMOVE THE CD DISC BUT IT WOULD NOT EJECT. I WENT INTO THE GARAGE AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO ELECTRICAL POWER AT ALL. FROM THE FIRST TEST DRIVE THESE TIRES FAILED TO HAVE ANYTHING CLOSE TO REASONABLE TRACTION ON SNOW AND ICE, RESULTING IN THE SALES-REP BEING BARELY ABLE TO BACK THE CAR OUT OF THE LOT FOR A TEST-DRIVE. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WASN'T THRILLED ABOUT THEM. AFTER GETTING THE CAR ONTO THE ROAD, IT SEEMED TO DO BETTER, SO I WENT AHEAD AND PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. AFTER OWNING IT FOR LESS THAN 48 HOURS, HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS WITH STOPPING, CORNERING AND ACCELERATION WHERE THE TRACTION CONTROL, ANTI-LOCK BREAKS ALL FUNCTIONING NORMALLY, JUST THE TIRES NOT HAVING ANY SORT OF REASONABLE GRIP OR TRACTION. IN ONE INSTANCE, I SLID THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WHEN TRYING TO STOP AT 5MPH. IN ANOTHER INSTANCE IT TOOK ME MOST OF A MINUTE TO GO THROUGH A SINGLE-LANE INTERSECTION BECAUSE THE FRONT TIRES WERE TURNING SO SLOWLY BECAUSE THE TRACTION CONTROL WAS STUTTERING THE WHEEL TURN AS THE TIRES KEPT LOSING GRIP/TRACTION. REPEATED COMPLAINTS THROUGH THE SALES AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT, EVEN WITH THE SALES PEOPLE ADMITTING THE TIRES WERE BAD FOR WINTER AND THE SERVICE MANAGER FLAT OUT SAYING, AND I QUOTE, "THOSE LS2S ARE [XXX] FOR WINTER", NOTHING WAS DONE TO REPLACE THEM WITH A COMPARABLE TIRE THAT WAS A TRUE ALL-SEASON TIRE. THE FUEL LIGHT GAUGE INTERMITTENTLY LIGHTS UP BETWEEN 1/4 OR 1/8 OF A TANK, OTHERWISE IT LIGHTS UP WHEN THE LINE IS BASICALLY AT THE BOTTOM. INTERMITTENTLY THE SUNROOF DOESN'T OPEN OR CLOSE PROPERLY. SOMETIMES IT REMAINS OPEN WHILE AT THE SAME TIME, THE INTERIOR HEADLINER IS ACTUALLY CLOSED. IF YOU AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW THE SUNROOF IS ACTUALLY OPEN BECAUSE THE INTERIOR HEADLINER REMAINS CLOSED.

I HAVE HAD ACCELERATION/ DECELERATION ISSUES SINCE I TOOK DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE IN JANUARY 2014, THE ISSUES ARE INTERMITTENT AND HAPPEN AT VARIOUS RPM AND VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE PROBLEMS ARE AS FOLLOWS....WHEN SHIFTING GEARS THE ACCELERATOR WILL OCCASIONALLY STICK AND HOLD THAT HIGHER RPM FOR 5 OR 6 SECONDS BEFORE DECELERATING, THIS HAPPENS APPROX. 50% OF THE TIME WHILE SHIFTING. THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THIS IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN THIS WAY. MY RESPONSE IS... IF IT IS SUPPOSED TO PERFORM THIS WAY THEN WHY DOESN'T IT PERFORM THIS WAY ALL THE TIME RATHER THAN 50% OF THE TIME? THE SECOND ACCELERATION/ DECELERATION ISSUE IS....THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY ACCELERATE TO 5500- 6000 RPM, THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH IN 6TH GEAR IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHILE SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT WILL MAINTAIN THAT HIGH RPM FOR 5 OR 6 SECONDS THEN DECELERATE. PLEASE ADVISE ON POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THE CAN DO TO RID THE CAR OF THE SMELL. *TR
CANNOT SEE ADEQUATELY IN RAIN EVEN WITH WIPERS ON HIGH SPEED. *TR
VERY SHORTLY AFTER FIRST ADJUSTING THE STEERING WHEEL'S TILT AND TELESCOPE (WHICH MAY BE UNRELATED), DURING A SHORT DRIVE, MANY CONTROLS ATTACHED TO THE STEERING WHEEL STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THIS INCLUDED TURN SIGNALS, CRUISE CONTROL, CELL PHONE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL, RADIO VOLUME ON STEERING WHEEL, AND INFORMATION DISPLAY CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL. OF THESE, THE TURN SIGNALS ARE PROBABLY MOST CRITICAL TO SAFE OPERATION. NOTE THAT THE HORN, AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER, CONTINUED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE NEXT MORNING, A SALES REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE DEALERSHIP FOUND THE VEHICLE IN THE SAME CONDITION, BUT SEEMINGLY WAS ABLE TO RESTORE SERVICE BY "JIGGLING" THE TURN SIGNAL LEVER, INDICATING TO ME THAT IT WAS RESTING VERY SLIGHTLY FORWARD OF THE NORMAL AT-REST POSITION, AND RECOMMENDED SERVICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATE FURTHER. DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOUND A CIRCUIT BOARD FAULTY. PART HAS BEEN ORDERED FOR INSTALLATION. IN AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION, CONCERNED THAT AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT MIGHT BE IMPAIRED WERE AN ACCIDENT TO OCCUR, THE DEALER PROVIDED SUBSTITUTE TRANSPORTATION PENDING REPAIR.
THE WIPERS ARE VERY INEFFECTIVE IN CLEANING RAIN WATER. THE WINDSHIELD IS SO BLURRY I CAN HARDLY SEE. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT, SO MUCH SO THAT I WON'T DRIVE IT IF NOT A NECESSITY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, I ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE REAR RIGHT WINDOW. I FELT THE POWER GOING TO THE WINDOW, BUT THE WINDOW DID NOT LOWER. I ATTEMPTED TO LOWER WINDOW AGAIN, BUT THEN THERE WAS NO POWER FELT. FORTUNATELY THERE IS NO URGENT NEED TO LOWER THE WINDOW DURING THE FREEZING WEATHER WE ARE EXPERIENCING. I WILL BE TAKING THE CAR BACK TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AGAIN (NOW WITH 2000 MILES DRIVEN) AS SOON AS I GET A CHANCE AND ITS WARMER OUT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING HOME ON A 2 LANE HWY. AND MESSAGE CAME "STEERING FAULT SERVICE NOW" I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP FROM THE CAR AND WAS TOLD IF THE CAR WASN'T DOING ANYTHING ABNORMAL, KEEP DRIVING AND BRING IT IN MONDAY. I ARRIVED HOME SAFELY TURNED OFF CAR AND TOOK PKGS. IN THE HOUSE. I CAME BACK OUT AND STARTED THE CAR RIGHT AWAY AND THE MESSAGE WAS "LOSS OF STEERING" AND INDEED NO POWER STEERING. I CALLED FORD AND THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK DRIVER AND WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT HASN'T BEEN SERVICED YET. *TR
