I hit a very deep pit hole on the interstate causing a tire blowout on front driver side tire as well as a cracked rim on back drivers side. As I go to put the spare on I can't get the lug nuts off. The tool in the spare kit doesn't fit, resulting me to call a tow truck who couldn't get them off either. It took me 2 days to figure out the lug nuts were swollen and this was a common problem with Ford Fusions. My local Ford shop would not assist in the matter at all and still refuse to replace them. They should in fact replace them and also the cost of the damage caused by this. If the nuts were regular lug nuts I could have remedied the situation my self. No police or injuries were involved just lots of stress and money out of my pocket to fix it.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light would remain illuminated. Occasionally, the vehicle would lose motive power and stall or not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.
Steering wheel has locked in place after starting the car. 64,000 miles and now that I jammed the steering wheel loose, it sounds like there is sand in the column and it is incredibly hard to turn the wheel. The wheels won't go straight after the turn. It needs to be manually man handled.
Brake lights stay on and do not turn off car will not accelerate past 50 MPH received email about recall 22V011
swollen lug nuts that prevent removal of wheel

The brake lights remain constantly on. The cruise control cannot be activated. I can shift from "P" into "N" and "D" without stepping on the brake pedal. I suspected that the brake switch was bad, so I loosened the connected to turn off the brake lights after parking at my home. But if I try to drive the vehicle while the connector was loose, I cannot shift out from "P", even when I am stepping on the brake pedal. I have to reattach the connector every day to drive.

Today, I was told by mechanic that all the lug nuts had to be replaced when they attempted to rotate the tires because the lug nuts were swollen. This is costing me $164 in parts and $74.99 in labor.
The car is making a grinding noise when turning the steering wheel in either direction. Mechanic at Ford dealership service said there is no power steering fluid involved with this type of steering. The internet has many comments from owners that have had the same problem and no recall is shown for this VIN# Owners have reported paying for more than one repair for the same problem. Some have reported paying very expensive charges and the problem returned in a short time. We bought this car for a grandchild who really likes the car and now we are concerned that it is not safe to drive.
The steering wheel just froze when I was driving at 30 miles an hour. I got a message on the display that said "Steering Fault Assist Service required." The service center found that the issue was in the steering rack and the sensors in it.
My steering assist no longer works. Every turn I make is difficult and and unsafe. This problem occurred with no accidents or anything. I was driving one day and I felt it go away. I noticed there was a recall with this issue on the year of my car, however not under my VIN. I’d like this to be looked into.
I was making your left turn into a parking spot and suddenly I've got lights on my dash service advanced track check rear Park aid ABS light on traction control lights on airbag light on and power steering got tight
I purchased the car from Carvana in February of 2021. 2 months after purchase there were issues with the steering. I brought it to a mechanic to find out that the bolts had corroded and were completely sheared off causing the steering gear motor to be seperated from the steering gear. I found that this make and model (and year) of my vehicle is well known for this exact issue and was subject to a recall in august of 2019 (recall number 19V632000) however my VIN is not flagged as having this issue (which it clearly does as i cannot even drive my car now). My car was originally sold in Michigan and according to the carfax has remained in areas where road salt would be an issue for the bolts in question. I have contacted Ford and been told there is nothing they can do. It is now a very costly fix and i still owe on the car. It is clear that the recall needs to be expanded to additional VINs immediately. Incident date reflects date car was officially diagnosed at an official ford service center. Ford uses sub par bolts and as such a system that should last the life span of the car did not and i am left paying. The diagnostic report was vague and wrong - a recall fix was never completed
I do not personally own vehicle, this vehicle is owned by my Government agency employer and vehicle is assigned to me along with responsibility for maintenance and repairs. 12/23/2019 brake pedal went all the way to floor while exiting a parking space. Shortly thereafter, brake system warning light illuminated, along with low brake fluid message and a warning chime. Was able to safely re-park vehicle with almost no system pressure remaining. Had vehicle towed to repair facility, culprit was rotted and ruptured L/F hose to caliper. 12/22/2021, almost exactly 2 years to the day the exact same events unfolded. Again had vehicle towed due to almost no remaining system pressure, and again problem is a rotted and ruptured L/F hose to caliper. This is a serious and now apparently recurring safety issue. Both times I was fortunate that failure occurred while exiting a parking space in areas with minimal traffic, and was able to safely re-park vehicle. Next time I may not be so fortunate.
The car was bought in North America. It has been driving in Belarus, in Minsk for a long time. 12.12.21 I was driving with the children. I heard a crack in the steering rack. This created a threat to the safety of my family. The car began to drive poorly, there was a risk of an accident. turned to an official dealer of Ford Belarus, two mounting bolts of the amplifier were cut off and the steering rack was damaged. They promised to change it for free, but on 01/05/22, they called me and said that a replacement was refused, because my car was not in the revocable Ford company. I am ready to file a lawsuit because I was not warned about this safety fault and could have died with my children in an accident. Thank you.

The failure mileage was approximately 52,490.
I JUST BOIGHT THIS CA 10/22/21 FROM A LOCAL DEALERSHIP, I REALIZED THE CAR HAD ISSUES BY THE 3RD DAY AFTER WHEN THE CAR HAD A FRONT TIRE BLOWOUT AND AFTER I REPAIRED BOTH TIRES ON DRIVERS SIDE I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT THE ALIGNMENT CAUSE THE CAR WAS PULLING. ABOUT A WEEK LATER THE CAR WAS GIVING ME ERROR THAT THE CHARGING SYSTEM NEEDED ATTENTION. THE DEALERSHIP HAS GIVEN ME LIMITED WARRANTY WHEN I PURCHASED BUT HAVE A STRICT RULE ABOUT BRINGING IN VEHICLE BY 9AM BUT I WAS UNABLE TO GET A SCHEDULED DATE CONFIRMED SO I TRIED CHARGING THE BATTERY WITH CABLES AT THAT POINT THE CABLES CAUGHT ON FIRE AFTER DIFUSING THAT ISSUE I WAS ABLE TO JUMP CAR AND GET HOME THE NEXT DAY I PURCHASED A BATTERY CHARGER AND CHARGED MY BATTERY AT HOME FOR 24 HOURS . I APPPLIED BATTERY IN THE CAR THE DAY AFTER AND WEMT TO TEST DRIVE IT, IT LEFT ME STRANDED AND I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME THE CAR HAD COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AT THAT POINT SO I TOOK IN MY OWN HANDS TO JUST SEND IT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP INSTEAD OF THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT CAR FROM CAUSE THE LENGTH OF TIME IT TAKES TO GET THEM TO CALL YOU BACK IS LENGTHY AND I NEED TO GET TO WORK AND BACK ITS IMPORTANT SO I HAD CAR TOWED FROM MY HOME TO MAXWELL FORD. I ALSO HAD LEARNED OF 6 RECALLS THAT HAD BEEN LEFT UNATTENDED TO SO I FIGURED I WOULD GET THOSE FIXED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE ISSUE WITH THE BATTERY . THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SINCE THE 11TH OF DECEMBER WITH NOW A COST OF ALMOST 5600 DOLLARS AND THATS WHERE I AM WITH THINGS.
The steering wheel catches when turning right and left. It is physically hard to straighten the wheel back out. Upon searching, there are recalls for the steering mechanisms in ford fusions, however my specific vehicle does not come up. I do believe that my vehicle is part of this issue.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a left turn, several unknown warning lights illuminated. In addition, the vehicle lost power steering functionality while the warning lights were illuminated. After the warning lights disappeared, the vehicle regained power steering functionality. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The ABS activated when turning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
The wheel lug nuts on this vehicle are faulty. When I purchased new tires the tire installer said these lug nuts are faulty and not safe.
While driving on the freeway lost control of steering, spun around into traffic when trying to switch lanes, and flipped over multiple times across the freeway without airbag deployment. My passenger and I suffered injury due to this. I am still going to physical therapy for my shoulder. No messages prior to the accident, I made sure to follow all safety precautions and take care of maintenance, and all safety recalls as soon as possible. The car has been sent over to the police and insurance company for further inspection.
The car stalls randomly when running at low speeds / low rpms. Scenario: after being parked for extended period of time, like overnight. Drive few miles, 5 to 10 miles and stop at parking lot. Upon re-starting the car and driving slow on the parking lot, the car suddenly lose power and stalls. Need to put on park and crank for about 5 to 10 seconds to restart. Then runs fine. Couple of times was crossing a road from a parking lot and stalled right across the incoming traffic. No engine light. Took to mechanic which could not reproduce the problem.
Battery chronically drains when car is sitting for a day or more. This has been happening since we purchased the car in 2016. It seems as if all the components of the car aren't shutting off completely (even when we check carefully to make sure they are off) or that they are coming on later after the car is turned off. This means we never know when the car will die and leave us stranded somewhere. We've replaced the battery several times and the dealership can't seem to fix this ongoing problem. This is also a problem that many other people report as an issue online.
Engine has failed and what I’ve been hearing and reading all over the internet it’s a common problem in 1.5 engines I need an entire new engine because the coolant was leaking into the motor
Had issues with Ford Fusion not shifting into a higher gear. Car would Rev up to over 4RPM and still wouldn’t shift up. (Automatic) Could’ve caused a crash had it happened driving on a highway. Took car to the mechanic and I just found out from the mechanic that it needs a new transmission! My car is mainly used for commuting and has about 150000 miles on it. I have looked up issues with this vehicle and this is a known issue! HELP! FORD should be recalling the bad transmission and fixing the problem!
2013: Purchased 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE. 2014: Transmission seal replaced by dealer after dashboard alert. After repair, car developed low-pitch whine. Dealer explained it was the battery charging. Nov 2021: Whine volume has increased. No dashboard alerts. Dealer says the transmission needs to be replaced. Dealer says transmission can fail at any time. I have stopped driving the vehicle because I don't want it to become disabled on the highway, possibly causing an accident.
Driving my 2014 Ford Fusion I lost power steering when making a right hand turn almost causing me to lose control of the vehicle and almost hit a full bus stop. I have heard a number of people that have had the same issue, Ford recalled this for previous model years.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that on multiple occasions; the vehicle failed to start up after refueling the vehicle with gasoline. The contact also stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled with the check engine and manufacturer control warning lights illuminated. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to a dealer where they diagnosed the vehicle with a fuel evaporation leak. As the failure persisted, the contact took the vehicle to Angela Krause Ford (1575 Mansell Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30009) where she was informed that there were recalled on her vehicle for the canister purge valve which the dealer related to the failure; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The contact was referred to NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that the vehicle would hesitate and independently shift gears upon depression of the accelerator pedal as the check engine warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel. The manufacturer had yet to be notified. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
[XXX] 11/2/21. I was driving mi kids to the movies on 10/31/21 when suddenly I made a right turn to enter the theater parking lot, and the left rear door open. My daughter was sitting there and tilt to the left while the door was open, she grabbed my seat to hold her self. She was with her seat belt on, and I was entering the parking lot at low speed, which I am very thankful. I already made an appointment with my local Ford dealer for them to fix the problem, but I really can't trust this vehicle anymore. That's a serious safety concern that the doors don't latch to securely close. This is a LEMON CAR and I don't feel safe. I will like to get help with getting this vehicle off my hands and from any other's persons possession, IT'S NOT SAFE! Now I just learned that there's more safety recalls on the vehicle besides the doors not latching. Please help me. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while reversing, the rearview camera activated; however, the rearview camera chime and red line alerting that the vehicle was too close to another vehicle, pedestrian or curb failed to engage. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was unknown.
The car had been driven about 5 minutes and then there was a complete loss of brakes. Because the vehicle is a PHEV there was regen braking to help slow the vehicle and get it off the road. We towed the vehicle to a Ford dealer where it took 5 weeks for them to determine the problem and fix. The dealer said it required a new wiring harness and charged approx $550. It is very disturbing that a wiring harness failure (electrical) should cause a complete loss of braking control — something that should have mechanical backup safety mechanisms.
Lug Nuts outer casing were swelled or distorted, not allowing removal to change a flat tire. After talking with a local Ford dealership, that said they sometimes have to hammer on the socket (19mm) to remove lug nut. This cause a safety issue just to remove let alone get out of the socket. The tire could not be repaired, so I had all four replaced, after having the one replaced, to drive the car. With the lug nuts distorted / out of dimensional shape, the integrity of getting them properly locked (torqued) back down is the safety issue. How can you trust they are properly locked down? I looked this issue up, which is a know issue, yet no recall. How is one to know this is an issue? Thankfully I was not on the side of busy highway. It is unsafe to remove, let along reinstall. Trying to remove could cause the car to fall off the jack? For safety I had to order all new lug nuts, with different size sockets to remove the old, and use the designed 19mm to reinstall the new lug nuts. The original lug nuts are not safe to remove or properly torque back down. The risk is the lug nut is not properly torqued and comes loose.
On multiple occasions the trunk has popped open fully on its own. I have woken up to my trunk open on multiple occasions. I even witnessed it open itself. I had used the keypad on my car, then locked my car. I sat on my porch and 10 minutes later I watched the trunk pop open. The keys were on the table so it wasn’t an accidental press of a button. I’ve noticed it usually happens after using the keypad. The keypad also has issues itself and often times in the hot sun the keypad just doesn’t work and can leave you stranded. The trunk thing can happen in any climate though. I’ve had the trunk pop open around 10 times.
Vehicle locked itself into drive position (Transmission) and will not move to any other shift. Car turned off and now will not turn back off. Had to get help pushing vehicle back into driveway until this can be fixed. Vehicle is now locked in drive mode, engine is off. Will not restart.
While driving, my steering wheel locked and it felt as if I was driving a vehicle without power steering and it became hard to turn my wheel and two service lights came on; the stability control. It was normal road conditions on a straight road.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while the vehicle was being inspected, the contact learned that the vehicle was leaking power steering fluid. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed the power steering fluid leak. Additionally, the gear shaft had failed to function correctly. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.
My steering wheel is ready to fall off. Certain 2014 Ford Fusions have a recall for this problem and my vehicle is not one of them. The car cannot be driven at this time since my steering is affected,When I called Ford they say even if my car does have this problem I will have to pay for it.This vehicle only has 15 k miles on it.
Transmission shifter cable bushing worn out… dealership can’t get me in in a timely manner to diagnose/repair and didn’t provide with a rental car or loner.
Trunk pops open randomly. Has had three times that I’m aware of.
My car is hard shifting, doesn't pick up on speed and has a whining noise coming underneath the hood of the car. My fluid levels are bad the fluid is black I got the 5 quarts replaced but there is still black fluid in the rest of the transmission. Is that causing my car to still mess up?
