Backup camera works when car started up, but will go out after the vehicle has been on for serval minutes and will not work. Know recall on other later models of Ford 2020-2023 backup cameras
My back-up camera only half works. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. My car also doesn’t alert me to when I’m getting too close to another vehicle when I backing into a parking spot. Also, the Bluetooth in my car has not worked or even connect to my phone since I first bought that car, and for this car to not even be 10 years old yet, this is ridiculous. Everyone I know has been having very similar issues. Y’all need to get it together. Is there anyway this issue can be looked into as well please? It’s be really nice to get to use all of my features I pay for. Love the car, hate this electrical bs.
Driver door opened while driving. Door latch will not secure. Remains open. There is a recall for same type of vehicle year make and model. 20S15 is the recall number.
2 car door latches unresponsive and wont lock. Known issue with ford this VIN isnt covered by recall but same issue
A year ago (2022), the passenger door latch failed for unknown reasons out of the blue. The door simply would not close. At the shop, the technician mentioned that it had mechanically and electrically failed and the door would not latch. A year later (2023), The issue is reoccuring; same (passenger) door and driver door both suddenly will not latch making the car inoperable due to safety risks. Upon research, it seems this issue is common to specific Ford models. Re: Ford Fusion Hybrid/Energi Recall Campaign # 20S15/20V177, there is an outstanding recall for certain VIN numbers but Ford refuses to cover my issue despite clear safety concern.
the lug nuts had swollen and were not able to loose without damage. In order to rotate my tires the dealership had me pay for new lug nuts. If they the parts were that cheaply made at the factory, why am i asked to pay for them.
Power steering fault
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
The coolant warning system came on, I added coolant. Several weeks later the car began white smoking from exhaust. I towed it to a mechanic. He informed me the head gasket had blown. He began to repair, and found the block was cracked. I did not repair the vehicle and it was towed to my home.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V695000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while shifting into gear, the digital screen failed to illuminate, and the screen was black. No warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,090.
Vehicle won’t start so I called my roadside/towing assistant number got someone out to do battery jump service because I been through this before twice come to find out that wasn’t the issue might needed more gas still wasn’t the issue so I got the vehicle towed to a shop it came back I needed the dealership to reprogram the vehicle they couldn’t because it wasn’t drivable so I got it towed to another shop just for them to tell me I need a new engine they didn’t know what cause the problem but just off what they seen while doing a diagnostic was low compression on all cylinders oil full and normal color (not brunt) coolant is full and clean warranty doesn’t want to cover parts that’s needed for the vehicle like cylinder head gasket check engine light always came on after repairs was fixed
Coolant reservoir was empty. Filled it and was low in a few days. Also started getting P302 check engine error for Cylinder 2 Misfire. That in combination with coolant leaks shows that coolant is intruding into cylinder 2. Most likely through the design grooves in Engine. This defect should be covered under a recall.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that after reversing out of the driveway and then accelerating forward at approximately 30-40 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power. The speed was reduced to approximately 20 MPH and the vehicle failed to exceed 20 MPH. The check engine warning light started blinking. The contact stated that while on the way to the dealer, while the vehicle was idling at a red light, the vehicle failed to drive forward properly. The contact drove the vehicle at very slow speeds. The vehicle was overheating, and smoke was coming from the rear of the vehicle. The smoke settled once the vehicle had cooled down. The dealer diagnosed that there was a cylinder #3 misfire due to a fractured engine block. The spark plug and the ignition coil were replaced however, the check engine light illuminated shortly after and the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was returned to the dealer who determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 127,000.
My ecoboost Ford Engine in my 2016 Fusion leaks coolant into my 1, 3 and 4 cylinders, over heated, smoke coming out of exhaust, using coolant. I took it to the Ford dealer to have it checked out when all of a sudden while driving the red temp light went off and my check engine light started blinking with a warning light saying critical temperature and I had to pull off side of highway, they said it needs a new motor, he also said it was common for this size engine to have issues, Ford had been dealing with that it was a design flaw............yet they won't fix it free or recall it. they want $8500 for a new engine, which I can't afford, so a car I own and owe on just sits undriveable. He said they offered an extended warranty to replace the short block on 2017 -2019 but mine is 2016 so no extra help was given to people who owned that year, even though its the same engine, flaws and all.
The Airbags lights showing it is off and not functioning.
Sync does not work nor has it ever worked contacted dealer they do not know what’s wrong with it nor have they fixed it or offered to
Windshield wiper motor works and there’s windshield wiper fluid and wind water tank but when you pull the windshield wiper flu lever to disperse clean your windshield nothing comes out taking it to mechanic. He can’t find anything wrong with it fluid go somewhere when you pull the lever except for on the windshield. Don’t know where it goes because you can empty the fluid tank out and not see anything on the ground or on the car
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that coolant had leaked into the engine and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number and advised to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
Safety Recall 23S12/23v162 recalls with problem with FRONT brake flexible hoses ...same problem exists with these hoses on REAR brakes. Notified dealer where I purchased but the service department was not interested in an u reporting
BRAKES WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW LIGHT CAME ON. MYSLEF AND OTHERS WERE AT GREAT RISK AS I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS WITHOUT A WAY TO BRAKE. GOT IT TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND WAS CONFIRMED TO BE THE FRONT BRAKE HOSES. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS OF THIS HAPPENING.
In July took vehicle to Ford service center for car throwing “engine coolant about temperature” warning. They told me there was a crack in engine caused by RECALL 23E03. They gave me invoice stating so but it’s a LIE because that recall has nothing to do with the engine. I have paperwork to prove they stated so and they were asking for +$10k for repair and labor. I declined the work. They also confirmed coolant intrusion. They told me I had to tow my car out of there as it was not operational but when I arrived I was able to drive it off. In august vehicle began to throw warning for “engine coolant above temperature” again.” When this would happen temp gauge would go to MAX, but as soon as warning went away, temp immediately dropped to medium temp.I took it to another mechanic. Warning light turned onwhen going on on-ramp and then car went into “reduce power to engine”. Took to mechanic and replaced thermostat, spark plugs, and coolant. $1,240.78 in repairs and labor. Engine coolant tempt and power reduce happened again in October. They mentioned all my coolant was almost gone and and oil was not registering on dip stick. They replaced all ignition coils, fluids, oil filter. $1175.98 repair and labor. November 9th both warnings come on and off intermittently. Took to mechanic but warning not present. Serpentine belt replaced + fuel throttle service. $683.79 in repairs and labor. On 11/27/23 took car to mechanic and they confirmed transmission needs to be rebuilt or replaced. This has put my and my families saftey at risk as vehicle stops in the middle of the road whether service street or freeway and has impeded my day to day lifestyle. Ford motors lied to me about the issues and had caused more problems and out of pockets costs. This issues has been reported with other people as well.
The drivers seatbelt is stuck and will not release to allow me to buckle myself in.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while the dad was driving with the cruise control set at 65 MHP. While approaching a slower vehicle ahead the driver pressed both the brake pedal and the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel but the cruise control did not deactivate. As the driver switched to the left lane to avoid a collision the vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle and a third vehicle was also crashed into. Which vehicle crashed into the third vehicle was undetermined. During the crash, no injuries were reported from either of the three vehicles involved in the crash. A police report was taken and the scene and the vehicle was towed to a nearby wrecking yard. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 85,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine seized. The contact stated that the failure had occurred two times since July of 2023. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with coolant intrusion and engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was made aware of Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N12 (Short Block Replacement After Coolant Intrusion); however, the vehicle was not included. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he observed plumes of white smoke emanating from the exhaust, after which the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 22-2322. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 175,000.
WHILE DRIVING TRYING TO MAKE A TURN...MY STEERING WHEEL JERKED AND I ALMOST RAN INTO A PARKED CAR BECAUSE MY POWER STEERING JUST ALL OF A SUDDEN FAILED!!! HOW DOES THAT..JUST HAPPEN? SO MY POWER STEERING ASSIST AND MY SERVICE ADVANCED TRAC LIGHT CAME ON.. AFTER THIS HAPPENED..! UNACCEPTABLE..I TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY VEHICLE..SO I SEE THERE WERE A WHOLE LOT OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS HAPPENING...AND WOULD LIKE FORD DEALER TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATLY...THIS IS UNSAFE. IM IN CHICAGO.
After parking the car, I opened the front passenger door from the outside and then attempted to close it but the door would not latch. The latch was not engaging to keep it should. I can hear the lock working when pressed with the key remote and on the door, but did not change the catching of the door. This is a safety issue because the door is currently tied shut with rope as I am working on getting it fixed. I am concerned that the door could open while driving and windows must be rolled down to tie it, so it is not secured when left parked. A Ford dealer mechanic did look at the door and confirmed the issue as it has still not been fixed. There were no warning signs or issues leading up to the door latch giving way. However there is a current recall on door latches of 2016 Ford Fusions sold in Arizona (where the car was bought and still located) with the exact same issue. However, after speaking with the Ford service department they stated that my VIN number was not included in the recall, even though it was the exact same issue.
The steering wheel is suddenly incredibly loose and while in park the steering wheel will rotate but the tires do not move with the steering wheel. While driving the steering wheel suddenly gets caught on something and will hold the steering wheel in place while turning the steering wheel. I have not the slightest idea on why this is happening but it is very concerning.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that on several occasions while the vehicle was parked, the contact observed condensation underneath the front of the vehicle. The engine temperature warning light remained illuminated while the check engine warning light was illuminated on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that several unknown parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 256,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the check engine and the power train warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed to the residence and was later diagnosed by an independent mechanic. The independent mechanic determined that there was coolant intrusion into the engine, causing a misfire in cylinder #1. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 71,000.
Right passenger door came open while driving and without warning. The door will not latch to secure the door to the car frame in a closed or secure manner. The door has to be secured with a strap until it can repaired appropriately.
Check engine light came on as the car started riding and idling rough. Took my car to Firestone and they hooked car up to computer and pulled codes. Engine misfire in cylinder 4. They weren't confident what the issue/fix was, so they recommended that I take to the Ford dealership to have them assess. Dealing with the dealership was a nightmare and after staying on top of them for 10 days, I finally was able to get a diagnosis that it was my spark plugs. Not wanting to wait another 10 days for a fix, I took the car back to Firestone since Ford had said what the issue was. Firestone changed the spark plugs and problem was resolved. The next day, check engine came back on and was riding/idling rough. Took back to Firestone. It was a misfire in cylinder again and they changed all 4 spark plugs again thinking it might be the spark plugs. They also confirmed that the coils were not the issue. Problem was solved. Four days later, the check engine light comes back on and the car is riding rough. Took back to Firestone and they dug deeper and confirmed that coolant was leaking into the cylinder causing the misfire. They said that it is a well-known and well-documented issue with the Eco Boost engines as they have a design flaw that allows coolant to leak into the cylinder. Firestone cautioned that I needed to be careful to monitor my coolant levels as the leak into the engine will drain my levels and can cause serious engine and safety issues. They said that I would need a new engine to fix the problem as there was no other solution to stop the misfire. My car only has 79,097 miles on it! We take extremely good care and get it maintenanced regularly. I checked and there are no recalls for my car for this issue even though I can find many, many instances where others are having the same issue with this engine. Without a recall, I will be responsible for paying for a new engine even though it is a design flaw that Ford is well aware of and not an issue that I caused.
When I got into my car today, the “airbag” symbol near the speedometer as well as the dash kept flickering off and on. My trip was 20 minutes and the illumination flickered off/ on the entire time. My car is steadily becoming increasingly unsafe to drive
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated he was able to restart the vehicle and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with an oil leak into the cylinders and engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure; a case was filed and then closed because the manufacturer stated that the vehicle out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 56,720.
Lug wrenches don't go on lugs. Can't remove lugs.
Passenger front door opened while braking at intersection while passenger in seat. Fortunately it did not hit a car next to us. Door had to be held shut by passenger for remainder of trip. Was inspected by Ford dealer and although there is a recall on nearly 250,000 of these door latches to include this specific car for a manufacturing period of 542 days, this car falls outside of it by eighteen days and the dealer wants $832.00 to fix it.
When driving straight the steering wheel was turned to the right, after I turned the steering wheel a couple of turns the steering wheel and the car was driving straight. the stirring wheel was wobbly. I took it to a dealer they tightened up the steering wheel. no warning signs
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 67 MPH, the vehicle started to sputter. The vehicle inadvertently decelerated while the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate over 15 MPH. The contact veered the vehicle off the road and turned the vehicle off. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was taken to O’Reilly’s Auto Parts by the contact’s husband to be diagnosed and the mechanic retrieved DTC code: P0011 and diagnosed that the actuator throttle failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified the failure and the contact was provided a case number and advised to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.
First of all i drive a 2016 Ford Fusion. Two years ago as i was leaving work my back driver's side door swung open and i thought i forgot to shut it. As i went to attempt to shut it it wouldnt close. My boyfriend had to meet me at work and tie it closed with rope that he had. I contacted Ford and they said they would fix it and charged me almost $500. Now just last week as i get into my passenger side of my car, my boyfriend was driving, as i went to shut the door the SAME THING happened! It would not close! What if that door lock had broken as we were driving?? I could of fallen out of the car if i didnt have my seatbelt on?? So i do some research online and go back to Ford in Delray Beach Florida. I see that there has been recalls with this EXACT problem on certain makes and models of Fords! I tell them.that and show the manager and he tells me that MY car vin is not under the recalls! So i tell him than there must be a mistake and my car is supposed to be under that recall and why did I have to pay almost $500 to fix the first door lock that broke?? He looked at me and acted as if he could care less! That is why i am writing you.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to stop in a reasonable amount of time. The brake fluid warning light then illuminated. The contact stated that he applied added pressure to the brake pedal and the brake pedal extended to the floorboard and the vehicle rolled to a stop. Upon inspecting the brake fluid reservoir, the contact became aware that the brake fluid level was low. The contact added brake fluid however, the brake fluid leaked out again. The vehicle was taken to Pep Boys where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake hose needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle there was white smoke coming from the exhaust tip. The contact inspected the vehicle and became aware that the coolant level was low. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that there was coolant intrusion into the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N12 (Short Block Replacement After Coolant Intrusion). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.
I bought my car new at AutoNation st the end of 2015. I serviced it there the whole time I had it. The check engine light came on back in may. They said it was a spark plug. The car ran for a few weeks and the check engine light came back on. I tried getting it back into AutoNation. They wouldn't return my phone call for over a week. So I decided to take it to Spritzer in Hartville. They diagnosed it as coolant leaking into the engine cylinders due to a defective engine block. That they've known was a problem for years. Spritzer told me that they get a few in every month with the same problem. I feel Ford has sold these Echoboost engines knowingly to the public. I was told my car was out of warranty and I have to trade it in or pay $11,000 to replace the long block. My car only has 72,000 miles on it and was well taken care of. I feel Ford needs to recall these engines because if it blows up on the highway you'd lose control of the vehicle possibly.
First of all steering wheel came loose from steering column luckily I was pulling into a parking spot due to steering wheel feeling very loose and the electric steering went out also this could have resulted in terrible accident as I was driving back from working offshore approximately 45 miles away. The dealership replaced the steering wheel due to a bolt which was a recall item after 3 weeks of sitting at the dealership but they told me the electric steering issue was not a recall item on my vehicle. They also said they fixed something with break system and something with transmission shift linkage which they did say were recall items. While the vehicle was getting steering wheel changed out they did something to the steering system which allowed the vehicle steering system to operate normal but two weeks later the steering went out again. I had seen online somewhere that 2016 Fusion also had some wires in steering column short out due to loose steering wheel but dealer said they were not aware of that issue. Bohn Ford Lapalco Blvd. Marrero, La. performed the repair on the vehicle. I’m offshore Gulf of Mexico working so I don’t have repair paperwork.
Our camera cuts in and out. We took it to Ford initially to run a diagnostic but they killed our battery doing the test and never finished. Now the camera is showing things opposite..our mailbox is on our right backing out but camea shows left. Same when a car pulled to our right but camera showed left and caused us a scare. Completely unreliable. It cuts off/on constantly when using it to back out and sometimes doesn't beep.
Water intrusion on #3 cylinder in motor. Ford won’t cover the expense.
Was driving and my wheel was hard to turn the wheel. Had to get a tow truck to pull it to my house. No lights didn’t show on the board indicating that there were any issues but, I can’t and haven’t been able to drive my car since the wheel locked.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated with a message indicating that the engine was overheating. The vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was towed to an unknown dealer, who informed the contact that the coolant reservoir was empty. The contact added coolant to the vehicle and drove to the residence. The vehicle was then taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with coolant intrusion in the engine, causing the spark plugs to be corroded, and that cylinder #4 was misfiring. The dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in an unknown recall due to the plant where the vehicle was manufactured. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
My check engine light starting coming on and off intermittently. After a week of this going on, I took it to a ford dealership for a diagnostic. I had taken it to auto zone prior to the appointment and their diagnostic indicated a cylinder 2 misfire. They told me it was probably a coil or spark plug that needed replacing but to follow up with the ford dealership. The ford dealer informed me at my appointment that the engine coolant was low and had been leaking into the engine. Told me it would require a short block replacement and quoted me almost $13,000!! The car has never had any problems and only has 88,000 miles. After researching this problem, ford has had numerous complaints about the safety issues this could cause and even appears to have had recalls at some point previously. If so, I never received anything and there is no active recall on my vehicle.
The passenger side door latch won't latch or move into the locked position. We can't have anyone sitting the front seat because the door won't close completely. No warning lights or anything came on to indicate this would fail.
My engine died from the design error with the engine block and coolant leaking. This needs to be remedied by Ford. It is not on the recall list, and it absolutely should be.
