THE SEATBELT HAS CAME APART INSIDE. YOU CAN LOOK INSIDE THE ONE THAT'S BROKEN AND THE GOOD ONE AND SEE THERE IS A PIECE MISSING OR BROKEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE SERVICE RESTRAINTS SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO METRO FORD SALES INC (3601 STATE ST, SCHENECTADY, NY 12304, (518) 868-6157) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT THE SERVICE RESTRAINTS MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HERITAGE FORD 2100 SISK RD, MODESTO, CA 95350, FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT BRAKE FLUID WAS PUT INTO THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIR HOWEVER, A DAY LATER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT A WHOLE CAN OF BRAKE FLUID WAS REPLENISHED IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THE BRAKE LINE LEAKED FLUID DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION COMING INTO CONTACT WITH THE BRAKE LINES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I HAVE A 2017 FORD FUSION, PURCHASED 6 MTHS AGO. I WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT, WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE IT IMMEDIATELY THREW ITSELF BACK IN PARK AND GAVE ERROR 'SHIFT SYSTEM FAULT SERVICE SOON'. CYCLED CAR ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE SAME RESULT. THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNING OF ANY ISSUES. I AM READING THIS IS HAPPENING TO ALOT OF 2017 FORD FUSIONS. I AM OUT OF WARRANTY, THE DEALERSHIP IS FIGHTING ME ON WARRANTY WHEN I SPECIFICALLY SAID I WOULD NOT BUY IT WITHOUT ONE, AND I CANT AFFORD TO FIX IT. I STILL OWE OVER $14,000 ON THIS CAR AND JUST HAVING IT 6 MTHS I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. HOPE THIS IS RECALLED!
SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN MARCH OF 2019 IT HAS GIVEN ME PROBLEMS WITH STARTING. IT SEEMS THE BATTERY IS ALWAYS DEAD EVEN WHEN THE BATTERY IS NEW AND THE MECHANIC TELLS ME THE BATTERY IS CHARGED FINALLY TODAY A MECHANIC TOLD ME IT MAY BE THE STARTER. BECAUSE WHEN I TRY TO START IT MOST TIMES IT IS DELAYED OR SOMETIMES IT WON'T START AND I NEED A JUMP . THIS CAR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD. WHY AM I HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE STARTER ? IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS CAR?
I obtained my vehicle on Lease in 2017 with 40K miles from Ford of Branford CT. When off lease I purchased it outright. I still own the vehicle and am still having Two main problems, One since almost the beginning. The First is the automatic seat control(driver's). This system would periodically push the driver into the Steering Wheel. I brought it into that dealership several times for that reason, while still in CT. They did claim to get it to stop doing this with some resets, but over time it continued. Around 2020, the vehicle began going totally dead. Initially it was determined to be the Starting Battery. My concern was it to ba a Compiter or Power drain problem. Several batteries and Dealership visits didn't solve it. I moved to SC in May 2022. These problems continued there, where Cox Ford of Southern Pines took over. After more Service visits the only answer was a BAD BATTERY. Recently, after returning from Vacation and having to jump start the vehicle two times, I had several conversations with the service department. Finally a new Service writer found some information. A Technical Service Bulletin described how in this vehicle, how under seat wiring for the automatic seats, were becoming frayed and shorting on metal rails.(182025A). Also another for Battery Drain (SSM 50250). My Automotive background (which I no longer do) Tells me that electric seat wiring, grounding against seat rails could cause the Battery to be Draining. I believe they could be connected.
WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROX. 32 MPH ON CITY STREET TRAVELING IN A STRAIGHT LINE ENGINE STALLED. 'FULL ACCESSORY POWER ACTIVE' AND ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE DASH. CAR COASTED TO A STOP. ENGINE START TOP BUTTON WAS BLINKING GREEN. PRESSED THE BUTTON. CAR STARTED AND RAN FINE. SECOND INSTANCE OF THIS OCCURRING. FIRST OCCURRENCE @ APPROX. 4000 MI. SECOND (12-24-2019) @ 12,600 MI. ## VIN PASSED ## FORD FUSION SPORT 2017 ##
VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT SEVERAL TIMES WHILE STOPPED IN TRAFFIC. IT TAKES SEVERAL MINUTES TO GET THE VEHICLE STARTED AGAIN. TOOK TO FORD DEALER AND THEY STATED IF THERE IS NO CODE TO READ THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIND OUT THE PROBLEM.
I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM A PRIVATE DEALER (AMERICAN CAR CENTER IN GA). IN LESS THAN 2 DAYS THE ERROR MESSAGE POPPED UP. THEY WONT FIX THE ISSUE AND FORD WANTS ME TO PAY TO GET IT ON THE COMPUTER TO SEE WHATS WRONG WITH IT. I ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR TWO MONTHS AND NOW I WILL BE OUT OF POCKET! ITS NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIX THIS ISSUE!
MY FUSION ENGINE AUTOMATICALLY TURNS OFF AND DOESN'T WANT TO TURN BACK ON, SHOWING ME A NEEDS NEW BATTERY AND NEEDS SERVICE WARNING. IT TAKES MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE CAR TO GET IT BACK ON SOMETIMES TAKING MINUTES. I TOOK IT TO THE MAC HAIK FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER TODAY AND THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS NORMAL. AS IF THE CAR TELLING ME IT NEEDS A NEW BATTERY, WHILE THE NEEDS SERVICE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, AND THEN TURNING ITSELF OFF IS NORMAL. MY CAR IS DYING AT STOP LIGHTS LEAVING ME STRANDED WITH CARS HONKING AT ME AND THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE. THEY TRIED TO GIVE IT BACK TO ME AS IS AND I TOLD THEM TO GIVE IT TO A BETTER MECHANIC AND THEY ARE CHECKING IT AGAIN. WHEN BACKING FROM A PARKING SPACE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT TO ANY GEAR OR NEUTRAL. NO WARNING OR INDICATION OF ANY PROBLEM, IT JUST QUIT RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A PARKING LOT. VEHICLE SHIFTER KEPT RETURNING TO PARK AND WOULD NOT MOVE! VERY DANGEROUS. MECHANIC SAID THE SHIFT CABLE BROKE. I SEE ON HERE THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND THERE WAS A RECALL UP TO THE 2017 MODELS. I THINK FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THE 2017 MODELS FOR THE SHIFT CABLE AS WELL BECAUSE IT'S OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE. CAR HAS 80K MILES. TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 66K MILES. 2017 FORD FUSIONS ARE AWFUL AND DANGEROUS! DO YOUR CUSTOMERS MATTER, FORD?
I HAVE A 2017 FORD FUSION AND THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING CAME APART CAUSING MY CAR TO BE STUCK IN REVERSE. I COULD NOT START MY CAR IN A PARKING LOT BECAUSE THE DASH SHOWED THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE ALTHOUGH THE SHIFTER WAS IN PARK. MY CAR WAS TOWED THROUGH FORD ROADSIDE. I WAS CHARGED FOR THE TOW AND THE REPAIR THROUGH FORD. I WAS TOLD BY FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT NONE OF THIS IS COVERED BY THE RECALL 19S16. CURRENTLY THE RECALL IS FOR 2013-2016 CARS. MY CAR WAS MADE AT THE SAME HERMOSILLO MEXICO PLANT AS THE OTHER CARS WITH THE RECALL. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED IN 2016. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND MY CAR COULD HAVE ROLLED AWAY IN PARK CAUSING INJURY. A NEW PLASTIC BUSHING WAS INSTALLED ON THE SHIFTER CABLE BUT I'M WORRIED IN ANOTHER TWO YEARS THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN AFTER WEAR.
77K MILES, SHIFT SYSTEM FAULT WHILE VEHICLE IN USE, TRYING TO CHANGE FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE ON A DOWNTOWN CITY STREET. GEAR SELECTOR KNOB RETURNS TO PARK FROM SELECTING REVERSE, OR DRIVE. FORD FUSION IS NOT OPERABLE AND HAD TO BE TOWED. REVIEWED PREVIOUS INCIDENT REPORTS FOR 2017 MODEL IDENTIFYING PLASTIC BUSHING HOLDING THE SHIFT LINK CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION FAILING. FORD FUSION MODEL 2016 AND EARLIER RECALLS FOR THE SAME PLASTIC BUSHING FAILURE, ALONG WITH MY WIFE'S 2014 FORD ESCAPE HAVING A RECALL FOR THE SAME PLASTIC BUSHING. WHY DOES THIS DEFECTIVE PLASTIC BUSHING REMAIN IN USE AFTER YEARS OF RECALLS?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A CEMENT STRUCTURE. DURING THE CRASH, THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ALSO, THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT LOCKING MECHANISM BECAME JAMMED AND THE DRIVER COULD NOT IMMEDIATELY EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DETERMINED. LIBERTY FORD BRUNSWICK (3101 CENTER RD, BRUNSWICK, OH) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING AND APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAYED "AUTO START STOP SHIFT TO (P) THEN RESTART ENGINE". THE CONTACT DID AS INSTRUCTED AND WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED EACH TIME THE VEHICLE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. THE CONTACT CALLED MIDWAY FORD (2777 SNELLING AVE N, ROSEVILLE, MN 55113, (651) 636-8200) AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FAILURE CODE WAS FOUND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AT 61,000 MILES, THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,115. *LN*JB
THE REAR SEATBELTS RATCHET DOWN CONTINUOUSLY CAUSING THE REAR PASSENGERS TO HAVE TO TAKE THEM OFF AND REBUCKLE THEM.
WE WENT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS REPORTED TO US FROM A FORD SALESMAN THAT THIS CAR HAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH ANTIFREEZE/COOLANT ENTERING THE ENGINE. WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS COULD RESULT IN THE ENGINE SEIZING ABRUPTLY AT ANY TIME. WE HAD BEEN OBSERVING FOR QUITE A WHILE (4 TO 5 MONTHS) THAT THE ENGINE SMOLKED A BLUEISH SMOKE EVERY MORNING.
FORD SYNC 3 "APIM" FAILURE. THE MODULE CONTROLLING THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM IN THE CAR FAILED AFTER A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO VERSION 3.0. HAPPENED 7 DAYS PAST AND 6000MI BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRED WITH FORD UNWILLING TO COVER ANY OF THE COST. AFTER APIM REPLACEMENT BATTERY ALSO FAILED. AFTERMARKET SELLERS OF APIM'S ACKNOWLEDGE HIGH FAILURE RATE ON 1ST GEN (2016-17) APIMS.
I had a bad car accident October 2019 going 45 mph, I push the breaks the car didn’t stop and I crashed not after a month from getting the car from drivetime on a special discount
WHILE MY 2017 FUSION SE WAS IN MOTION I GOT A CHECK ENGINE LAMP INDICATING THAT I HAD A MISS-FIRING CYLINDER AND ANOTHER LAMP TELLING ME "ENGINE COOLANT OVER TEMPERATURE". WHEN THE LAMP COMES ON IT REDUCES ENGINE TORQUE AND VEHICLE SPEED, MAKING THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE IT SLOWS THE VEHICLE TO ABOUT 25 MPH. I TOOK IT TO FORD AND THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST $2,500 TO REMOVE THE HEAD TO LOOK FOR COOLANT WAS IN THE CYLINDER, $4,500 TO REPLACE WITH A USED ENGINE. I LATER TOOK THE CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND HAD SENSOR FOR ENGINE COOLANT REPLACED. THE CAR SEEM TO DRIVE WITHOUT AN ISSUE, BUT AFTER A WEEK, THE PROBLEM RETURNED AS DESCRIBED ABOVE.
ONE EVENING WHEN PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY IN REVERSE AND THEN SHIFTING INTO DRIVE, THE RADIAL DIAL SHIFTER AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTED TO PARK. IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK AT ALL, AND I SAT STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE MY CAR FOR OVER TWO HOURS. THE ROAD IS SUCH THAT PEOPLE HAD TO DRIVE THROUGH NEIGHBORS' YARDS TO GET AROUND ME. I'M VERY FORTUNATE THAT MY NEIGHBOR IS AN ENGINE MECHANIC AND WAS ABLE TO WALK OVER AND DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. HE TOLD ME THE SHIFT LINKAGE WAS NOT CONNECTED AND THAT THE BUSHING THAT HOLDS IT ON APPEARED TO BE MISSING. IF IT WERE NOT FOR HIM I MAY STILL BE SITTING IN THE ROAD. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL OF THIS EXACT SAME PART FOR FORD FUSION MODEL YEARS 2013-2016. HOWEVER, MINE IS A 2017 THAT CAME OUT OF THE PLANT IN APRIL OF 2016. THEREFORE, IT STANDS TO REASON THAT THE DESIGN OF THIS SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING DID NOT DRASTICALLY CHANGE BETWEEN THE MAKING OF MY VEHICLE IN APRIL OF 2016 AND A 2016 MODEL THAT WAS MADE JUST A MONTH OR SO EARLIER WHICH WAS ELIGIBLE FOR A RECALL. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT I HAVE A YOUNG CHILD AND MY DRIVEWAY IS ON AN INCLINE. THE COMPLAINTS THAT I'VE RESEARCHED SAID THAT WITH THIS ISSUE THE CAR COULD BE STUCK IN NEUTRAL WHEN YOU THINK IT IS IN PARK FOR EXAMPLE, AND MY CHILD COULD HAVE BEEN IN THEIR CAR SEAT WHILE THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY. THIS IS NOT OK! FORD SAID MY 2017 FUSION WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL AND CHARGED $6 FOR THE BUSHING AND $60 TO INSTALL A PART THAT'S BEEN A RECALL ISSUE ON OTHER MODELS. MY CONCERN IS THE SAFETY OF OTHERS AND THE FACT THAT MY VEHICLE IS SURELY ONE OF THE EARLIER 2017 MODELS MANUFACTURED WITH THE SAME EXACT ISSUE AS A RECALLED MODEL WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN MADE JUST A MONTH OR TWO PRIOR. I DO HOPE THAT IT'S LOOKED INTO FOR THE 2017 FORD FUSION MODELS TO BE ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST FOR THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC NEWER STYLE VACUUM PUMP FAILED IN MY 2017 FORD FUSION ALMOST REAR ENDED A TRUCK WHILE DIDNT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS TALKED TO A FEW FORD DEALERS THAT TOLD ME IT WOULD BE OVER A WEEK BEFORE I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET MY CAR SERVICED. SO I STARTED TO TEST MY MY PARTS GOT A P0012 AND P0014 CODE AND PINPOINTED A DESTROYED VACUUM PUMP THAT HAD NO SUCTION.BREAKS ASSISTANCE WAS LOST
2017 FUSION IS ONCE AGAIN BACK TO MAKE A SECOND ATTEMPT TO FIND WHY THE BATTERY IS BEING DRAINED. I HAVE PICS OF EACH TIME THAT IT AS COMPLETELY DIED AND I HAD TO RECHARGE THE BATTERY. THE LAST TIME IT WAS SITTING ON MY DRIVEWAY FOR 5 DAYS AND IT COMPETELY DRAINED THE BATTERY. I HAD TO PUT A CHARGER ON IT OVERNIGHT THROUGH THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THEN WHEN I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE TRUNK THEN I HAD TO RECHARGE THE BATTERY FOR OVER 8 HOURS TO GET THE VEHICLE STARTED. I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO TAKE THIS PROBLEM TO THE TO THE DEALER EACH TIME BUT I AM GOING TO TAKE IT IN AGAIN THIS WEEK 9-23-2019 TO SEE IF THEY CAN LOOK INTO WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE TO US THAT FORD DOES NOT RECALL THESE CARS.

AFTER TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND BACK ON, THE "SHIFT SYSTEM FAULTY" MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE CONNECTOR WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. PIONEER FORD (150 HWY 27 NORTH BYPASS, BREMEN, GA 30110) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
MY CAR WILL NOT SAY IN GEAR IT WILL CONTINUE TO GO IN PARK NO MATTER WHAT GEAR IT'S IN. I WAS ON THE CITY STREET WHEN THAT HAPPEN. IT TOOK ME ABOUT 30 MINUTES FOR IT TO DO ANYTHING. ONCE I GOT IT PARKED IT DID IT AGAIN. ON THE SCREEN IT SAID SHIFT SYSTEM FAULT. AT ONE POINT IT WAS STUCK IN REVERSE. THEY ARE TELLING ME IT'S NOT A RECALL ON THAT WHEN IT SHOULD BE. I COULD'VE BEEN DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN IT HAD CHANGED GEAR. MY KIDS AND I COULD'VE GOT SERIOUSLY HURT.
THE FORD "SYNC 3" SYSTEM, WHICH SEEMS TO BE THE BRAINS OF NEARLY ALL INTERIOR CONTROLS AND ACCESSORIES HAS BEEN MALFUNCTIONING IN MULTIPLE FORD MODELS FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. THING AFFECTED INCLUDE ALL HVAC CONTROLS, AUDIO CONTROLS, POWER SEATS, WINDOWS, REMOTE START ABILITIES AND MORE. FORD AWARE OF THE MALFUNCTIONS IN CURRENT AND PREVIOUS MODELS, YET THEY REFUSE TO ISSUE ANY RECALL OR TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. THE DEALERSHIPS INSIST THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE EVEN AFTER HAVING BEEN SHOWN VIDEOS OF THE CARS MALFUNCTIONS. A QUICK SEARCH THROUGH ONLINE FORD FORUMS WILL THIS ISSUE IS WIDELY EXPERIENCED AND THAT IT'S CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND FORD SHOULD BE LIABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED FROM DRIVE INTO REVERSE WITHOUT WARNING AND THE PARKING BRAKE MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.

THE VEHICLE STARTED HESITATING BUT WAS NOT BAD UNTIL THE CAR GEARED DOWN IN TRAFFIC, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THE TROUBLE INDICATOR WAS A "WRENCH" WHICH INDICATED A POWER TRAIN ISSUE. I GOT THE CAR BACK HOME AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP, WHERE THE DIAGNOSIS WAS I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION FOR A 2017 FORD FUSION, WITH 66,238 MILES. COST OF REPAIR IS QUOTED AT $4875 TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. CURIOUS AS TO HOW A THREE YEAR OLD VEHICLE HAS TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED.
MY 2017 FORD FUSION HAD A LOW TIRE SENSOR LEAK. UPON AN INITIAL FORD DEALER INSPECTION TO INVESTIGATE THE TIRE LEAK FORD DEALERSHIP REVEALED TO ME THAT MY CAR HAD NO COOLANT LEFT IN IT & ENGINE WAS HEATING UP & WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. FORD CONDUCTED A PRESSURE TEST OF THE ENGINE & I WAS TOLD NEEDED A NEW ENGINE REPLACEMENT. NEEDLESS, TO SAY THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR ME TO DRIVE WITH A DEFECTIVE ENGINE & APPEARS I THE CONSUMER AM OUT OF $24,000 DOLLARS PAID & DEMAND FORD MANUFACTURER RESTITUTION!
2017 FUSION IS ONCE AGAIN BACK AT THE DEALER TO MAKE A THIRD ATTEMPT TO FIND WHY THE BATTERY IS BEING DRAINED. EACH TIME 10/DEC/18, 11/JAN/19, AND 18/AUG/19 THE VEHICLE DID NOT START IT WAS PARKED IN OUR GARAGE. IT ALSO TOOK HOURS TO RECHARGE THE BATTERY TO GET IT STARTED TO DRIVE IT BACK TO THE DEALER EACH TIME. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE TO US THAT FORD DOES NOT RECALL THESE CARS.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,223.
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AFTER TRYING TO GO INTO REVERSE THE GEARS WOULD NOT CHANGE, I ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN THE DRIVE POSITION AND THE GEAR BECAME STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION. THE "SHIFT SYSTEM FAULT, SEE MANUAL" MESSAGE APPEARED.
I HAVE A 2017 FORD FUSION. MY ISSUE IS THE THE SHIFTER LINK CABLE. THERE IS A LITTLE PLASTIC BUSHING THAT HOLDS THE CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION THAT ALLOWS YOU TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO NEUTRAL REVERSE AND DRIVE. WELL MINE BROKE AND I'M GLAD IT WAS IN PARK. IF IT WASN'T IN PARK I WOULD HAVE NO WAY TO EVEN GET IT IN PARK NOT ATKEAST BY MYSELF ANYWAY. WHEN I WOULD TRY TO CHANGE GEARS I GOT A WARNING MESSAGE THAT SAID SHIFT SYSTEM FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED! IT TOOK ME FOREVER TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. AFTER FURTHER DOING MORE RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THAT THE 13-16 FUSIONS HAD THIS ISSUE AND WERE RECALLED. I FOUND THE PART NUMBER FROM FORD WHICH IS DG92-7K340-A. I TOOK IT TO FORWARD AND TOLD THEM THE ISSUE AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL FOR IT SO I HAVE THEM MY VIN NUMBER AND THEY SAID THAT THERE'S NO RECALL FOR THE 2017 FUSION THAT THEY FIXED THE ISSUE WITH THEM. WELL OBVIOUSLY NOT! THE GUY TRIED TELLING ME I NEEDED TO BUY THE WHOLE CABLE TO FIX IT. WHICH I KNEW BETTER I GAVE HIM THE PART NUMBER AND THEY HAD A BIG BOX OF THE BUSHINGS SITTING ON THE DESK TOOK IT HOME AND FIXED IT IN LIKE 5MIN. I'M GLAD I WAS HOME WHEN IT HAPPENED AND NOT DRIVING BECAUSE IF SO MY VEHICLE WOULDN'T GO INTO PARK OR ANY GEAR FOR THAT MATTER.
HI I HAVE A 2017 FUSION THAT BEGAN TO STALL AND HAVE ISSUES AT 72,000 MILES. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE MECHANIC THEY DETERMINED THAT A NEW ENGINE WAS NEEDED AND HAVE FOUND BULLETINS STATING THIS IS DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT KNOWN BY FORD AS FORD HAD RELEASED THE BULLETINS. THIS DEFECT LEADS TO ENGINE FAILURE AND IS NOTHING CAUSED BY THE DRIVER BUT SOLELY DUE TO THE FACT THAT WHEN CERTAIN ENGINES WERE MANUFACTURED THEY WERE MANUFACTURED INCORRECTLY. FORD IS UNWILLING TO PAY FOR ENGINE REPLACEMENT EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE ADMITTED THIS IS FAULT DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESSES IF THE ENGINE IS TO STALL OR SEIZE DURING DRIVING THIS COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY, ACCIDENT, AND EVEN DEATH. FORD IS NOT RECALLING THIS ENGINE AT THIS TIME. LUCKILY MY ENGINE SEIZED WHILE STOPPED.
IF I TURN ON MY ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE AND TURN MY CAR OFF BY THE TIME I WAKE UP MY CAR BATTERY WILL BE DRAINED
I HAVE A GOOD BATTERY AND MY CAR KEEPS ON DRAINING THE BATTERY. THE CAR WAS ONLY DRIVEN 8400 MILES MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES AND THE ONLY WAY I CAN START IT IS BY JUMPING THE BATTERY.
ON JULY 22, 2019, I ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT GO IN REVERSE, IT KEPT TURNING BACK TO PARK. THE MESSAGE ON THE DASH SAID SHIFT SYSTEM FAULT, CALL GEICO TO HAVE IT TOWED TOOK 2 HOURS FOR THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER TO GET CAR ON THE TRUCK BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT SHIFT, HE CALLED FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT TO SEE IF ANY OF THEM COULD TELL HIM WHAT TO DO, HE TALKED TO (EIGHT) TECHS AND NOT ONE KNEW THE ANSWER, ANYWAYS, THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEMS WAS WITH THE SHIFT KNOB AND TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD COST $545 TO REPAIR AND IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. AND EVEN THOUGH THE 2013-2016 FORD FUSIONS HAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT MY 2017. WHICH IS NOT RIGHT.
UPDATE TO COMPLAINT 11229418 POSTED 7/4/19 CAR STAYED IN SHOP FOR A WEEK. REPLACED INPUT SHAFT, FLUID PUMP, FILTER, VALVE BODY, SOLENOID BODY, TORQUE CONVERTER, AND ANY ASSOCIATED GASKETS AND HARDWARE CAR IS GOING BACK TO THE SHOP TOMORROW DUE TO IT SHIFTING HARDER THAN BEFORE. SAFETY PARK FEATURE NO LONGER WORKS EITHER. CAN HEAR HARD SHIFTING WHEN CHANGING FROM PARK, REVERE, AND DRIVE. REVERSE IS THE WORST AND CAR SHAKES WITH EACH GEAR SELECTION. MOVES HARD AS IF I HIT SOMETHING WHEN PLACING INTO PARK.

THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A DITCH AND STRUCK A TREE. ALL THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED EXCEPT THE ONE IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL FELT LOOSE EVERYDAY EVER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2018. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE. THE CONTACT WAS TREATED FOR BACK PAIN AND RELEASED THE SAME DAY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP AND THEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
DRIVING CAR ONE DAY AND TURN SIGNALS FAILED TO FUNCTION WHEN PREPARING TO MAKE A TURN IN TOWN. CHECKED FUSES AND BULBS AND ALL WERE GOOD. TRIED THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL AND IT WAS NOT WORKING EITHER. ALSO NOTICED WIPERS AND NONE OF THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS WERE OPERATIONAL.
MECHANIC STATES...POWER CITIC DRAW IS CAUSING CAR TO LOSE POWER AT ANY GIVEN TIME. CAR NEEDS TO BE JUMP STARTED TO RUN; WE JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 3MONTHDS PRIOR FROM DRIVE TIME & WERE NOT AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE.
SHIFT SYSTEM FAULT
VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WHEN TURNED ON THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHILE DRIVING AROUND 45 MPH , THE POWER TRAIN LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK VEHICLE INTO DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED I NEEDED A NEW TORQUE CONVERTER. WAITING TO HEAR BACK ON IF THEY HAVE FOUND THE PART, AS THEY COULDN'T THE DAY I TOOK IT IN. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 24K MILES ON IT. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE PREVIOUS RECALL REGARDING THIS PART WAS FIXED OR NOT BECAUSE IT WAS PRIOR TO THE DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR.
Manufactured dates for the 2.7L engine put only into the trim model Ford Fusion Sport (a rare trim) during 06/16 - 01/17 have been documented to have cylinder head issues resulting in long block issues. (Meaning a whole new engine is needed) the only way you got this issue fixed is if it was done in the first 3 years of 2017 or within 39k miles. But for those that didn’t get their vehicles in during that time frame are supposed to pay out of pocket for a defect ford knew to exist and have no issued a recall on these vehicles.
APPROXIMATELY A WEEK AGO I NOTICED MY VEH WAS CUTTING OUT AND LOSING POWER ON SLOW ACCELERATION AROUND 30-40 MPH AS THE GEARS WERE SHIFTING. TOOK THE VEH TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION FLUID SMELLS BURNT AND IS DARK. THEY SAID THE CLUTCH IS BREAKING APART AND THEY SAID I NEED AN ENTIRE NEW TRANSMISSION. THE VEH ONLY HAS 66K MILES ON IT.
LOST ALL ELECTRICAL WHILE DRIVING, HEADLIGHTS,ENGINE DIED, ALL AT SPEED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY AT NIGHT.WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING MINOR ELECTRICAL DEFECTS/GLITCHES IN THE PAST MONTH.WINDOWS GOING UP AND DOWN IF YOU TOUCH THE WINDOW SWITCH. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH AND APPROACHING TRAFFIC, THE BRAKES FAILED AGAIN WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CLIPPED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SUSTAINED FRONT END DAMAGE. THE CONTACT HAD TO PAY A $1,000 DEDUCTIBLE TO THE AUTO BODY SHOP TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME DEALER, BUT WAS OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MEANT TO OPERATE IN THAT MANNER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BIG VALLEY FORD (HIGHWAY M-28, EWEN, MI 49925, 906-988-2323) WHERE THEY WERE INITIALLY UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK A MECHANIC TO TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A COMPUTERIZED BRAKING MODULE DEFECT AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
I HAD TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP YESTERDAY BECAUSE I WAS GETTING AN ERROR MESSAGE ON MY DASH STATING "SHIFT SYSTEM FAULT - SERVICE SOON." I WAS NOT ABLE TO PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE OR NEUTRAL AND WHEN TRYING TO DO SO, THE PARK BRAKE WAS AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING HAD CAME A PART WHICH WILL COST OVER $315 TO BE FIXED. I READ ONLINE THAT FORD RECALLED OVER 500,000 FUSIONS (2013-2016) AND ESCAPES FOR THE SAME EXACT REASON. WILL FORD BE ISSUING ANOTHER RECALL ON THE NEWER MODEL CARS? I'M HAVING TO COME OUT POCKET FOR A PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH OTHER VEHICLES IN THE PAST. AS SOON AS I GET THE FINAL RECEIPT FROM THE DEALERSHIP, I WILL HAPPILY UPLOAD IT.
