Car just stopped moving, transmission . There is a recall on this year but not this vin but seems to be the same problem alot of having from researching
while trying to pass another car, my car stalled and would not speed up, then the high temp light came on then it cut off. it has been diagnosed with coolant intrusion by Kirk Brothers which is where I bought it.I can't understand why ford will not do something about this. I guess someone will have to get killed before something gets done. I can't afford to get the car fixed and it's my only vehicle. I commute 40 miles every day to work and have no other option than to drive this unsafe car. I'm scared for my life but if I don't go to work, I cant provide for my family or pay for this car. my car has all the criteria i see on the ford's customer satisfaction page, why is it not on recall. And it was made at the Hermosillo, Mexico plant which has a recall but not on my car.. i don't understand why.

twice while driving my motor stalled and the engine light came on. once the motor shut off completely. white smoke comes from the tail pipe. I took the car to kirk brothers ford greenwood Ms. which is where i bought the car and they diagnosed it as having coolant leaking into the engine. They will not fix it because they say there is no recall. I bought the car in November of 23 and it had less than 80,000 miles on it.
There is a coolant intrusion into the vehicle’s engine, which has in turn created the need for a new engine entirely. This issue is known in 2017 Ford Fusions and vehicles have been recalled but only those made in certain manufacturing areas. The car is currently at the ford dealer for service and the dealership informed us this is a known issue and the engines have been recalled previously. After our own research it is clearly a known issue and should be recalled across the board. This vehicle is under 100,000 miles and inoperable, due to a manufacturer error. This needs to be made right and be an active recall for the 2017 ford fusion. There was no warning. I was driving one day at about 50 mph when the car lost all power to the engine and immediately slowed down on me. There is nothing safe about this and I would expect a company such as Ford, to make this right.
Coolant intrusion into cylinder causing spark plug corrosion and warping of head. Confirmed by dealer that this is a known common issue with the engine and requires the engine to be replaced. Only warning sign on my car was an occasional misfiring that I brought the car in for within a week of noticing. Told that there was a recall on the model but not my specific car and it has expired so nothing can be done.
Shift cable bushing failed. I attempted to back out of a parking spot when the dash lit up with a Shift System Failure. Put on the emergency brake, turned off the car, and popped the hood. The bushing had broke and was laying on a piece of metal under the shift cable.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that there was coolant intrusion into the cylinders and that the engine's long block needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 37,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at approximately 25 MPH, the engine overheating warning light was illuminated with an audible chime. The contact pulled over and checked under the hood and became aware that the coolant reservoir was nearly empty. The contact refilled the coolant reservoir and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was shifted into drive (D) but was unable to accelerate above 10 MPH. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that coolant had intruded into the engine block. The mechanic recommended that the engine be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 139,177.
Shift system failure. 2023 replace plastic piece that was not a recall on 27 but was a recall on all other models. Last week shift system failure $706 to replace shifter picked up car Saturday. Today car is being towed back for shift system failure again. Car will not go out of park. I have all receipts and invoices from.
My car is a 2017 Ford Fusion with a 1.5 liter eco boost engine. 2 weeks ago my check engine light came on. I brought my car and there was apparently a coolant leak that caused my entire engine to cease and I was told by ford my entire engine needs to be replaced for over 8500 dollars. My car is under 67000 miles. The coolant problem was stated to me as something that is seen by a lot of these engines. I did research to find out that this has been a common occurrence with fords carrying these types of engines. The coolant leak could lead to engine stopping in the middle of driving! I have a [XXX] son and a baby on the way. Knowing ford is still letting people drive these cars is unsafe and on top of that making people pay for something that is their fault. Because of this I am financially struggling and am so angry that this could have resulted in something much worse. There is even a class action law suit relating to this happenings against ford and this coolant leak problem. I reached out to ford support and they have stated they are aware this is an issue, but nothing has been recalled yet. So now I am forced to pay for a new engine! Ford is at fault and i am now paying thousands of dollars I do not have. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My engine started to act up so I took it to the dealership. I was told that there was coolant intrusion in the cylinder head due to manufacturer known defect and that my vehicle was unsafe to drive and that the recall for this issue was expired. I was told my vehicle was unsafe to drive as it could hydrolock and cause an accident. This is a frightening issue that should not have a time limit given the fact that it can cause the engine to suddenly lock up which could cause a serious even fatal accident. This issue was confirmed by the dealer technician. There were no warning lamps untill the failure.
I had the car about 3 months when the first service light appeared. Misfire - replaced the cylinder. But 2 months later service light came on again for same issue. Ford Dealership said it was coolant intrusion. Car repeatedly overheats. Service engine light comes on/stays on. Temperature gauge will indicate high temp, then will drop to normal seconds later, then shoot to the top again. At times engine will decrease power, and I have to pull over and park until engine cools, no matter where it happens. I don't feel safe driving on the highway, or any distance more than 20 miles or so. I am also afraid to park in the garage at night in case it's too hot. Ford dealership says it needs a new engine. Called Ford Customer Service but my VIN was not on the service action 19B37 or 21N12 (even though it was manufactured at a listed plant on the listed dates) so they would not assist in covering it.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle accelerated violently. While driving my Ford Fusion to the Local Ford Dealer (Monday 7.1.2024) for the scheduled Oil change the check engine light came on. I informed the Service writer at the dealership upon arrival. He stated they can complete the oil change but, could not check that problem with the engine light coming on due to the fact you have to make an appointment to have the car serviced. At that time I did make an appointment for that service to have my car inspected for the following Monday (7.8.2024). on my way home the car started to run rough, like it was not running on all cylinders. On Friday 7.5.2024 I contacted an independent service mechanic took my car to an independent service mechanic. He ran a diagnostic test. he determined that coolant was leaking into cylinder #2, he stated it was due to either a broken head gasket or a crack block. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, by a tow truck on the same day. On Monday the Ford dealer diagnosed that coolant was leaking into cylinder #2, and it was determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The car has 119,000 miles. It is out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The Service writer informed me that this is a common problem with the 1.5 Eco boost engine. He also stated that this has been a problem since 2014 engines. The Service writer referred me to the Ford Customer Service Department. I contacted the customer Service Department. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The Representative informed me that because the car is out of warranty, they would not do anything to help with replacing the engine.
I took our 2017 Ford Fusion in a couple of weeks ago for a service code showing we had a misfire on #2. We had the repair completed which included new plugs and coils. This past week, the car showed an alert that said the car was overheating. I drove it to the service center and the car gave me an alert that the computer had reduced power to lower the temp of the engine. The mechanic just called me and said that we have coolant in the cylinder. They said this is a known problem and that it is listed under TSB 22-2229 which superseded TSB 22-2133. I have called Ford and Ford dealerships and they sent me to this site to file a complaint. Their answer was that they couldn't fix it until the NHTSA told them to fix it--even though they stated they have seen a lot of these issues.

My Ford Fusion has the 1.5L ecoboost engine. This engine has engineering issues that are known to Ford. My vehicle started producing white smoke from the exhaust and sluggish performance. At approximately 105,000 miles my vehicle went into limp mode due to a cracked head gasket. This was due to coolant intruding into the cylinders. Ford did a short block engine replacement and reprogrammed the PCM to try to fix the issue. At approximately 220,000 miles the vehicle started producing the same symptoms described earlier and the vehicle now requires a complete engine replacement. Ford refuses to fix this for me, even though it is well documented that this engine has engineering issues. These engines should last longer than 105,000 miles.

2017 Ford Fusion Titanium 2.0L Ecoboost purchased brand new. Coolant intrusion into Cylinder #1, causing a misfire, registered in Vehicle Health Alert system; check engine light on. Liberty Ford dealership was notified within the first week of the 1st misfire. Autozone found fault code P0301. Code scanner suggested replacing cylinder #1 spark plug. If misfire cont., it stated to replace Coil on cyl #1. All four spark plugs were replaced and Coil for cylinder #1 was replaced. Veh.began to exhibit a low coolant level, white exhaust smoke & rough running. Coolant fumes were entering the veh. cabin. Coolant added as soon as "Engine Coolant Over Temperature" dash alert. Diagnostic completed at Firestone Complete Auto Care: Determined "Cyl 1 is full of coolant & misfire occurring due to engine burning coolant.TSB out for this issue stating engine block replacement will be needed. Recommend dealership*** Manufacturer's recommended maintenance.… They provided a copy of TSB 22-2229 and stated Ford Manufacturer should replace entire engine (Long Block). I contacted Ford Manufacturer. They stated several times that "this is a KNOWN ISSUE". They stated a diagnostic must be done by a Ford Dealership and submit financial asst. request. They found code P0301 as well as overheating codes are present, coolant level low. Mode 6 shows multiple misfires on cyl1...found same diagnosis. TSB 22-2229 covers this condition, engine build code is 910 and meets criteria." Veh avail for inspection upon request? The veh stranded me away from home 2-4 times. I was given literature that stated low coolant may automatically shut off the engine, even while driving. Antifreeze contains glycols & other liquid chemicals that are sweet smelling but POISONOUS. That entering the veh cabin can possibly cause a person to have damage to the central nervous system, lose consciousness, become nauseated, vomit, dizzy, etc. Ford didn’t notify me of the manufacturer fault that caused the issue, a 3rd party did.
RECEIVED A NOTICE ON MY DASH STATING THE SHIFT SYSTEM HAS A FAULT AND SERVICE IS REQUIRED. I AM UNABLE TO PUT MY CAR INTO REVERSE, DRIVE, OR ANY GEAR. IT IS CURRENTLY STUCK IN PARK. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR FORD FUSIONS BETWEEN THE YEARS OF 2013-2020. IN 2017 FORD RECALLED 259,182 CARS DUE TO A FAULTY SHIFTER CABLE.
Engine light came on while driving on the highway with no other warnings or symptoms that could be noticed during standard operation. Vehicle was taken in to Ford for service the next day and it was discovered that coolant was leaking into cylinder #1 due to the design of the engine long block. Coolant intrusion into the cylinder was causing the cylinder to misfire, as well as engine overheating. If I had not taken the vehicle in for service immediately, overheating would have continued, leading to engine failure while actively driving. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY FORD AFFECTING SOME OF THEIR 2.0L ECO BOOST ENGINES. Ford issued a technical service bulletin (TSB 19-2346) for its technicians on how to diagnose and fix this defect in December 19th of 2019. Ford service told me the repair would not be covered in any extended coverage or powertrain coverage from the factory.

2017 Ford Fusion with 90,000miles-Check engine light went on in the AM, no drivable concerns noticed. Took fusion to my mechanic, motor had coolant leak into cylinder #4, cylinder #4 had stopped firing. Complete 1.5L engine replacement needed. Engine coolant thermostat house gasket replaced Engine gasket kit/seals replaced Complete Engine assembly performed Removed & replaced 1.5L engine Engine Long Block replaced $7,900.00 in parts and labor Had the engine seized while driving due to this coolant leak catastrophic incident may have incurred with possible death. Found that other Ford models have had a recall for this issue but that 2017 Ford Fusions do not have enough incidents to be included. Extremely dangerous and deadly.
See attached document for complaint.
The contact's son owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while her son was driving at 45 MPH, the check engine warning light was illuminated, and the temperature gauge increased to hot. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power and failed to accelerate above 35 MPH. The check engine light began coming on. I took it to the mechanic to determine what may be going on, but he could not find anything. The check engine light continued to come on. Took it back in for deep-dive diagnostics. Service Charging System came on - randomly and intermittently - took it to two different mechanics. At this time problem was intermittent and not consistent. Three mechanics attempted to dive deep into the situation but could not find it. They ruled out the alternator and other issues they suspected. The coolant and Temperature lamps came on once. I immediately stopped driving and checked the coolant. Then, I had mechanics check the coolant and make sure all was good. I took it to another mechanic, and he said it was now throwing all kinds of codes. Took vehicle to local Ford dealership where I was told I needed a new motor and it was not covered by Ford. The cost would be over $13,000. Upon my own investigation, I found that this is a common and recurring problem with this motor. This vehicle has 94k miles on it. In 2022, we purchased it with 78k miles on it for my son to go to college in. Now, I am being told by Ford that the motor will cost more than the car actually did.
According to repair shop check engine light will remain on as anti freeze leaks due to a malfunction in my car. Repair shop states this is not a recall as it is not a safety issue and yet when I put on gas peddle car doesn't auto engage to proper speed. I also don't see how coolant leaking on engine wouldn't be safety issue.
EVAP system leak causes car to not start after putting gas in the car. Engine light stays on causing the key fob not to auto start the car. Loud Knocking noise coming from the gas tank.
