The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle experienced random hesitation and stalling with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired but the failure had reoccurred. The contact indicated that the transmission had been rebuilt on three separate occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 FORD FUSION. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SEIZED. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL RETURNED TO NORMAL. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES SEIZED WHILE IN TRAFFIC THIS WEEK, WHICH ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH AND THE CHECK MANUAL WARNING MESSAGE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FLAMMER FORD (3335 COMMERCIAL WAY, SPRING HILL, FL 34606, (352) 686-8255) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT AN AUTO STOP/START MODULE NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED, BUT AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 9, 2019. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND WOULD NOT ALLOW THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE COULD NOT BE READ DURING THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,070.
