2003 FORD MUSTANG COBRA CONVERTIBLE STALL WHEN DEPRESSING THE CLUTCH ON OCCASION. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER, BUT THEY INSIST THAT THEIR IS NOT MUCH THAN CAN DO ABOUT IT. THEY HAVE TRIED TO RE-FLASH MY COMPUTER, BUT THE PROBLEM CAME BACK. *NLM
CAR STALLS UNDER BRAKING. GETTING ONTO HIGHWAY FROM ACCESS RAMP, I ACCELERATED TO 70 MPH THEN TOUCHED BRAKES TO SLOW TO 65 AND THE CAR STALLED. I LOST POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, AND ACCELERATION. A CAR CUT ME OFF AND I ALMOST RAN INTO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE LOSS OF BRAKING POWER AND TRIED TO SWERVE ONTO THE SHOULDER BUT THE STEERING WAS TOUGH DUE TO THE LACK OF POWER. *JB
WE HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THIS CAR SINCE IT WAS BOUGHT NEW. ALL ISSUES HAVE BEEN LOOKED AT BY THE DEALER DURING THE FACTORY WARRANTY AND STILL REMAIN UNRESOLVED. I HAVE WRITTEN A LETTER TO FORD HEADQUARTERS BUT THEY SENT A COMPLETE REJECTION LETTER. I WAS TOLD TODAY BY A FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TO FILE A COMPLAINT HERE. I CAN SUPPLY DOCUMENTS AND THE ORIGINAL LETTER TO FORD IF NEEDED. THE MAIN ISSUES FROM PURCHASING NEW AND DRIVING OFF THE LOT ARE (IN ROUGH ORDER OF IMPORTANCE): -MAJOR PAINT AND CLEAR COAT ISSUES (BROUGHT TO DEALER TWO DAYS AFTER PURCHASE TO COMPLAIN. THEY HAVE NEVER RESOLVED PROBLEM AND IT HAS CONTINUED TO GET WORSE TO THIS DAY.) -DRIVER DOOR WINDOW STOPS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. -CAR ENGINE SURGING MAKING CAR LURCH FORWARD (MY WIFE WAS INVOLVED IN A MINOR ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS. IT WAS REPORTED TO INSURANCE.) -ENGINE ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO STALL WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL IN REVERSE. -HEADLIGHT LENSES COMPLETELY CLOUDED EARLY ON (HAVE HAD TO HAVE RESTORATION DONE TO HEADLIGHTS SEVERAL TIMES.) -ENGINE SOUNDS LIKE DIESEL WHEN AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS HIGH. -BULGE IN SEAL ABOVE WINDSHIELD FRAME WHERE CONVERTIBLE TOP SEATS AGAINST IT. -STEREO INTERFERENCE (LOUD CONTINUOUS BUZZING SOUND.) -AC THUMP (HIGH PRESSURE COOLANT LINE HITS FIREWALL WHEN COMPRESSOR STARTS.) -DRIVER DOOR RATTLE (AFTER THE WINDOW WAS WORKED ON BUT WAS NOT FIXED.) -LIGHT BURNED OUT IN AC PANEL (OCCURRED AFTER STEREO WAS REPLACE TO TRY TO ELIMINATE INTERFERENCE, BUT WAS NOT RESOLVED.) WE HAVE MAINTAINED AND KEPT OUR LOW MILEAGE MUSTANG IN EXCELLENT CONDITION OTHERWISE. WE DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO FROM HERE. THANK YOU *TR
AFTER DRIVING TO WORK ONE MORNING, ONCE I PARKED I NOTICED THAT COOLANT WAS LEAKING FROM BOTTOM RADATOR HOSE. DEALER REPLACED COOLING HOSES AND CLAMPS. ALSO THE PAINT WERE THE HOOD SCOOP MEETS THE HOOD STARTED TO CHIP, WATER GETS CAUGHT UNDER THE HOOD SCOOP MAKING IT DIFFICULT THE KEEP IT CLEAN.*AK
DT: WHEN THE CONSUMER WOULD APPLY THE BRAKES THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD JERK OUT OF CONSUMERS HAND. THE STEERING WOULD PULL TOWARD THE LEFT. THIS OCCURRED AT LEAST FOUR TIMES. THE CONSUMER DID NOT HAVE ANY ACCIDENTS BECAUSE ONCE HE LET OFF THE BRAKE IT WAS FINE. THE FIRST TIME HE TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP THEY DID NOTHING TO THE VEHICLE. THE SECOND TIME THEY GREASED A BUSHING. THE THIRD TIME THEY TOLD HIM IT WAS TO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ,AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR A PART. ALSO, THEY TOLD CONSUMER THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING BROKEN IN THE STEERING AREA, BUT THEY WILL NOT TELL HIM WHAT IT WAS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AS OF YET, IT IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP. CONSUMER HAS NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AS OF YET. *AK
WHEEL BECAME LOOSE AND SWAYED FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. CONSUMER LOSS CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, CONSUMER NOTICED THE WHEEL WAS OFF THE RIM.*JB
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. *JB THE CONSUMER HAD NO WHERE TO GO ON THE FOUR LANE HIGHWAY WHEN THE OTHER VEHICLE HIT THE CONSUMER HEAD ON. THE ENTIRE FRONT END WAS SMASHED AND NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED ON IMPACT. *SCC *JB
DRIVERS SEATBELT NOT RETRACTING PROPERLY. FREQUENTLY HAVE TO DRIVE WITHOUT THE SEATBELT AS IT GETS PROGRESSIVELY TIGHTER. WHEN PUTTING ON THE SEATBELT I CAN FEEL A LOT OF TENSION ON THE BELT FOR SOME REASON. ALSO AT TIME IT WILL NOT RETRACT AT ALL AND HANGS LOOSE.*AK
VEHICLE HAD NO HEAT, COOLANT LEAKAGE, VEHICLE RAN ROUGH, ETC. (NAR) *PH *CB
IN DECEMBER OF 2002 I PURCHASED A 2003 SVT COBRA MUSTANG FROM SATCHER FORD. THIS CAR HAD A NUMBER OF PROBLEMS WHICH CAUSED FORD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE, RE-FLASH THE COMPUTER, REPLACE CLUTCH. THIS CAR HAD A STALLING PROBLEM THAT LEFT ME AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. WHEN YOU WOULD DEPRESS THE CLUTCH, THE CAR WOULD SOMETIMES STALL. THIS WOULD CAUSE THE LOSS OF BRAKES AND STEERING AND NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. FORD FINALLY AGREED TO BUY BACK THE CAR AND GET ME ANOTHER CAR, BUT I AM HAVING THE SAME STALLING PROBLEM WITH THAT 2003 COBRA AS WELL. SATCHER FORD HAS INDICATED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX YET. FORD NEED TO LOOK AT THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT WILL GET SOMEONE KILLED IF THEY DO NOT CORRECT IT. *NLM
INADVERTANT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT ON MY DAUGHTER'S 2003 MUSTANG GT CONVERTIBLE, WHILE PARKING, CAUSED HER TO JUMP THE PARKING CHOCK, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR. THERE WAS NO APPEARANT DAMAGE TO THE CAR AND THE SPEED WAS LESS THAN 10MPH.
2003 MUSTANG COBRA. VEHICLE STALLS ON DECELERATION CAUSING LOSS OF POWER BRAKES AND STEERING. CAR STARTS RIGHT UP AFTER STALL BUT THIS HAS HAPPENED A DOZEN OR MORE TIMES FIRST THING IN THE MORNING OR AFTER THE CAR HAS SAT FOR AN EXTENDED TIME. *TT
SVT COBRA IS INTERMITTENTLY STALLING WHILE THE CLUTCH IS FULLY DEPRESSED AND DECELERATING TO A STOP. THIS INTERMITTENT STALLING OCCURS MOST FREQUENTLY AT IDLE. THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED AT LEAST TEN TIMES IN THE FIRST 1174 MILES OF OWNERSHIP. OCCURS WITH GREATER FREQUENCY IN WARM WEATHER WHILE THE ENGINE IS HOT. TWO SERVICE DEPARTMENTS CHECKED THE ENGINE AND ONE RESET THE IDLE CONTROLLER. THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE CONDITION, HOWEVER, THE STALLING PERSISTS WITH NO CHANGE IN SYMPTOMS. ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE RESTARTS IMMEDIATELY, THE CONDITION SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASES THE CHANCES OF A COLLISION WHILE TRYING TO REGAIN CONTROL AND RESTART IN TRAFFIC.
CAR WOULD NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT AT 15 MILES PER HOUR, WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE(BRAKES DID NOT FEEL RIGHT) TO AVOID THE ACCIDENT THE CAR KEPT RIGHT ON GOING. THERE WAS NO PULSATION FEELING, THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT GO TO THE FLOOR. TS
VEHICLE STALLS WHEN COASTING IN NEUTRAL WITH CLUTCH RELEASED. CONDITION IS MOST NOTABLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND WHEN COASTING DOWNHILL. ENGINE STALL CAUSES POWER STEERING AND BRAKES TO REVERT TO MANUAL WHICH MAKES CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE VERY DANGEROUS. TS
FOR 2 YEARS I HAVE OWNED A 2003 MUSTANG COBRA CONVERTIBLE. WHENEVER I REACH 60-65 MILES AN HOUR MY CAR START TO VIBRATE LIKE A WHEEL IS OFF BALANCE. I'VE GOTTEN NEW TIRES SEVERAL BALANCE BUT NOTHING AND ALIGNMENTS AND NOTHING SEEM TO HELP THE PROBLEM. *TR

WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER SUDDENLY HEARD A LOUD BOOM. STEERING WHEEL BECAME HARD TO STEER WHICH RESULTED IN AN ABRUPT STOP TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. CONSUMER NOTICED THEAT FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE BLEWOUT. GOODYEAR, P22555R16.*AK
WHILE DRIVING SMOKE CAME OUT OF THE AIR VENTS. THEN, REAR SEATS CAUGHT ON FIRE. THIS WAS CAUSED BY POORLY DESIGNED SPEAKER WIRES. *AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE SEAT MOVED FORWARD. DRIVER'S SEAT SHOOK WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.*AK
