After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as needed. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 125,000.
VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN ONE YEAR SINCE IT BROKE DOWN LAST AND NOW I HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM. THE SECONDARY TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER HAS FAILED AND LEAD TO SECONDARY TIMING CHAIN FAILURE BROKEN ROCKER ARM AND MAYBE DAMAGE TO THE PISTON IT HAS BEEN PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM THIS CAR IS A LEMON AND THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED I WAS DRIVING THROUGH AND INTERSECTION AND MY CAR STALLED LUCKILY IT STARTED ONCE MORE JUST LONG ENOUGH TO GET IT OFF THE BUSY ROAD. THERE WAS BOLTS ON THE VALVE COVER THAT'S WEREN'T EVEN DRILLED THROUGH THE PLASTIC VALVE COVER. THERE IS NO REASON A FAIRLY NEW MOTOR SHOULD HAVE MALFUNCTIONED LIKE THIS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL TICKING NOISE DETECTED FROM THE ENGINE AREA. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED METRO FORD 9000 NW (7TH AVE, MIAMI, FL 33150, (305) 751-9711) HOWEVER THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,800.

THROTTLE BODY FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED THREE TIMES. PUT ME IN DANGER FOR MY LIFE AS THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING ON BUSY HIGHWAY. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION FULL SPEED 55 MPH AND THROTTLED DOWN TO COMPLETE STOP. ENGINE RACED BUT WOULD NOT MOVE. I WANT REIMBURSEMENT FOR MY EXPENSES. THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED THREE TIMES FOR FAILING WITHIN A WEEK. WARRENTY EXTENSIONS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR THROTTLE BODY FAILS FOR SIMILAR MODELS. WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT FORD HAS ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLIES AND SENSORS FOR 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES FROM THE DATA OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE. FOR VEHICLES PAST THIS TIME LIMIT, THE WARRANTY IS REPORTED TO BE VALUD UNTIL JANUARY 31, 2015. AFFECTED OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT FORD AND MENTION CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03.
WHILE TRAVELLING ON FDR SOUTH TO WORK MY 2011 FORD MUSTANG LOST POWER. I WAS TRAVELLING AT SPEED OF ABOUT 45 - 50 MPH. ERROR CODE P 2111 THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK STUCK OPEN WAS DISPLAYED. ISSUE WAS WITH THROTTLE BODY, THROTTLE BODY GASKET AND PCV VALVE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, I EXPERIENCED SUDDEN DECELERATION AND HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE GAS PEDAL WAS NOT RESPONSIVE AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. THIS HAPPENED MORE THAN 6 TIMES OVER A TWO WEEK PERIOD. TWO OF THE INSTANCES OCCURRED WHILE PULLING OUT OF A BUSINESS ONTO A MAIN ROAD -- I HAD TO COAST INTO THE TURN LANE TO RESTART. I TOOK THE CAR TO TWO MECHANICS WHO COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE INTERMITTENT ISSUE (BECAUSE THE WRENCH LIGHT RESTS) AND THEN FINALLY MADE IT OVER TO THE FORD DEALER TODAY. 11/14/2014 - VEHICLE ENGINE APPEARED TO STALL OR SHUTDOWN (NO POWER) WITH "WRENCH" DISPLAYED WHILE EXITING HIGHWAY. COASTED TO SHOULDER AND RESTARTED VEHICLE MILEAGE APPROX 32,100. RE-OCCURRED ON 12/9/2014 WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH - WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SHOULDER AND RESTART. FORD DEALER RAN COMPLETE DIAGNOSTICS NEXT DAY BUT COULD NOT IDENTIFY A PROBLEM. VEHICLE MILEAGE LESS THAN 33,000. OCCURRED AGAIN ON 1/27 ON HIGHWAY WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH - COASTED TO SHOULDER AND PLUGGED IN OBD-II DIAGNOSTIC TOOL I HAVE BEEN CARRYING WHICH DISPLAYED P2111 THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM STUCK OPEN. RESTARTED CARE - OCCURRED AGAIN 2 MILES LATER THIS TIME - SAME CODE READING - AND NOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO ON. VEHICLE MILEAGE 34,650. DEALER REPLACED THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL ON 1/28/15 AT MY EXPENSE (NOT UNDER WARRANTY / NO MANUFACTURER RECALL). THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD - UNEXPECTED VEHICLE SHUTDOWN OCCURRING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. *TR
DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS (45 MPH), SUDDENLY ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH LIGHT BOTH ILLUMINATED AND SIMULTANEOUSLY LOST ALL POWER TO THE CAR. I WAS ALMOST CRUSHED BY A SEMI TRUCK AS I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF TURNING. I WAS TOLD BY FORD DEALER TO JUST RESTART ENGINE AND ALL WOULD BE OKAY. THIS TEMPORARILY FIXED THE PROBLEM BUT THE NEXT DAY THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN, THIS TIME I CAUSED A LARGE BACK UP OF CARS BEHIND ME CAUSING A VERY HAZARDOUS CONDITION. NOW WHEN I TALK TO FORD REPRESENTATIVE THEY TELL ME THAT IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT I AM ON MY OWN TO FIX. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH, MY CASE IS NOT ALONE. SOMETIMES IT'S OKAY FOR THE REST OF THE DAY AND OTHER TIMES IT'S NOT EVEN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD AND IT'S DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN...I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS WITH THE FORD COMPANY, AND THERE WERE NONE...MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS SINCE COME ON AND NOW I KNOW FOR SURE THAT IT'S THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR MOTOR...LOOKS LIKE THERE HAVE BEEN QUITE A FEW COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME THING! I WAS TRAVELING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AT THE SPEED LIMIT (75 MPH IN THIS AREA OF TEXAS) AND HAD JUST CHANGED LANES WHEN THE CAR WOULD NOT GO, I KEPT PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF THE HIGHWAY AND WAS ABLE TO GO UP AN OFF RAMP AND PULL OFF THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THE MUSTANG STARTED TO MAKE A NOISE AND SHUTTERED, SO I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE BEING AFRAID THAT THE ENGINE WOULD BE DAMAGED. I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALL FOR HELP. THE ENGINE STARTED TO SHUTTER AGAIN AND THE ACCELERATOR WOULD NOT WORK. ALSO, LUCKILY A FORD DEALERSHIP WAS WITH A MILE SO I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO IT AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A STUCK THROTTLE BODY AND CHARGED A DEDUCTABLE FOR A DEFECTIVE PART THAT FORD SHOULD HAVE HAD A RECALL ON A LONG TIME AGO. I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND WHILE ON THE BUSY HIGHWAY AND INJURED OR KILLED. ALSO MY TRANSMISSION FILLS VERY "JERKY" AT TIMES WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR AFTER STOPPING AND STARTING AGAIN FROM A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. I AM VERY GLAD THAT MY MUSTANG IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN MY THROTTLE LIGHT WENT ON (WRENCH) , MY CAR LOST POWER AND BEGAN TO IDLE. EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING, I HAD CARS COMING AT HIGH SPEEDS ALMOST GETTING REAR ENDED. MY CAR ACCELERATOR GAVE OUT COMPLETELY GOING INTO "SAFE MODE". I FOUND MYSELF HAVING TO GO THROUGH CONSTRUCTION CONES IN ORDER TO PULL OVER SOMEWHERE SEMI SAFE. I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND TURNED IT ON AGAIN. THIS TIME THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF AS WELL AS THE THROTTLE LIGHT. AGAIN MY CAR WAS UNDRIVEABLE. AS I GOT HOME THE CAR WAS SCANNED. RECEIVED TWO ENGINE CODES P2111 & P2112. ALL HAVING TO DO WITH THE THROTTLE BODY . *TR
