I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON MY MUSTANG'S AIRBAGS FIVE MONTHS AGO. FORD HAS NOW FOLLOWED UP ON THE ORIGINAL RECALL NOTICE, NOR WILL THEY FIX THE PROBLEM WHEN I TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP. I AM VERY MUCH WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE.

"TAKATA RECALL"...I RECEIVED AN OFFICIAL NOTICE OF A RECALL FROM FORD DATED 5/27/15 CONCERNING THE RECALL AND THE NEED TO REPAIR THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG ON MY 2013 FORD MUSTANG. I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO SET UP THE APPOINTMENT TO CORRECT THE AIRBAG DEFECT ON MY CAR AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL NOTICED I RECEIVED IN THE MAIL APPROXIMATELY 1 WEEK FROM THE DATE ON THE RECALL NOTICE. I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX MY CAR AND THAT I MUST WAIT FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE. I'VE HAVE SINCE CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THEN TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE STATUS OF THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE AIRBAG DEFECT ON MY CAR ONLY TO BE TOLD EACH TIME THAT NO PART IS AVAILABLE TO FIX MY CAR. SINCE I HAVE NO OTHER SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION, I'M FORCED TO DRIVE THIS POTENTIALLY UNSAFE CAR WITH A DEFECT IN THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG THAT IF AN ACCIDENT SHOULD OCCUR AND THIS AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED, I, THE OCCUPANTS OF MY CAR, AND/OR BOTH MAY BE KILLED BY FLYING METAL SHRAPNEL FROM THE FAULTY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR! AFTER WAITING THE FIRST 6-8 MONTHS, I REACHED OUT TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGEMENT TO SEE IF THEY WOULD BUY BACK MY FAULTY AND DANGEROUS VEHICLE SINCE NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE TO FIX MY CAR'S FAULTY AIRBAG. OF COURSE THEY DECLINED. IT IS NOW 10/9/16 AS OF THE WRITING OF THIS COMPLAINT AND STILL NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE TO MY CAR AND NO ATTEMPT TO INFORM ME OF THE STATUS OF THE PARTS NECESSARY FOR THE REPAIR OF MY CAR HAVE BEEN MADE BY FORD. TAKATA RECALL - RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE EFFECTIVE MAY 27, 2015 BUT HAVE NOT HAD THE AIR BAG REPLACED YET.
TAKATA RECALL. THIS VEHICLE WAS RECALLED IN MAY 2015. WE ARE NOW A WEEK AWAY FROM 2017, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO HAVE THE CAR REPAIRED DESPITE REPEATED CALLS TO MY DEALERSHIP. THE NHTSA HAS IDENTIFIED THIS DEFECT AS BEING VERY DANGEROUS, AND I WOULD RATHER NOT DIE DUE TO A SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUE.

TAKATA RECALL I'M NOT SURE WHAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED A "TIMELY MANNER" IN REGARDS TO SOMETHING THAT CAN HARM OR POTENTIALLY KILL ME. I FIRST TRIED TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OFF AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN HAWAII, BACK IN EARLY 2015. THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE STILL WAITING FOR THE PART. I HAVE SINCE BEEN STATIONED IN SOUTH CAROLINA SO I TRIED THE FORD DEALERSHIP HERE, ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. THEY GAVE ME THE SAME RESPONSE. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT BUT I'M AFRAID THAT IF I WERE AND MY AIRBAG DEPLOYED, MY WIFE OR MYSELF CAN BE HARMED.

TAKATA RECALL I LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY AIRBAGS REPLACED SINCE MAY OF 2015. SOUTH FLORIDA IS THE WORST AREA FOR THE AIRBAG TO RUPTURE AND KILL SOMEONE.. MY DEALER AND FORD MOTOR CO. IS NOT HELPING ME AT ALL WITH THIS. CAN YOU HELP ME WITH THIS RECALL?
OKAY, I'VE HAD THIS INCIDENT A COUPLE OF TIMES ALREADY. I WAS GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY AND A WRENCH ICON CAME ON THE DASHBOARD, I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AT. THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOUND NOTHING, AND IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES AFTER I TOOK IT. I'M DRIVING AND THE WRENCH ICON COMES ON, I HAVE NO ACCELERATION, I PRESS THE GAS AND IT WON'T SPEED UP. I HAVE TO BE PULLING OVER AND TURNING OFF THE CAR FOR A FEW MINUTES.
TAKATA RECALL - NOTIFIED IN SPRING OF 2015, NOTIFIED AGAIN IN SPRING OF 2016. STILL NO RESOLUTION! CAR OWNERS EFFECTED BY THIS RECALL ARE ADVISED TO NOT DRIVE UNTIL THE ISSUE IS FIXED AS DRIVERS/PASSENGERS MAY SUFFER CRITICAL INJURIES OR LOSS OF LIFE DUE TO THE SHRAPNEL FROM AN AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. WE'RE COMING UPON TWO YEARS SINCE INITIAL OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION AND THE PROBLEM WAS KNOWN BEFORE THAT. FORD HAS ONLY COMPLETED 16% OF THE REPAIRS/REPLACEMENTS. I CONTACT MY DEALERSHIP EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS AND STILL NOTHING. SUPPOSEDLY THE LAST QUARTER OF THIS YEAR. WELL THAT'S HERE AND STILL NOTHING. IF IT EVEN HAPPENS BEFORE YEAR'S END, THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. MY LIFE AND MY LOVED ONE'S ARE ENDANGERED ON A DAILY BASIS DUE TO A FAULTY COMPONENT IN A SYSTEM THAT IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT AND SAVE LIVES. GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO STEP IN AND SPEED THIS UP.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE CONTACT PROCEEDED VERY SLOWLY AT APPROXIMATELY 2 MPH; HOWEVER, THE PRECEDING VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO STOP AND REAR ENDED THE OTHER VEHICLE'S BUMPER AT A LOW SPEED. THE DRIVER'S AND FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUFFERED A BURN ON THE RIGHT ARM THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE PASSENGER WAS UNINJURED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS SHOULD NOT HAVE DEPLOYED AT SUCH A LOW SPEED. THE POLICE ARRIVED, BUT THE CONTACT DID NOT RECALL IF A REPORT WAS FILED. THE AIR BAG FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE CRASH DAMAGE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

THERE IS A RECALL ON THE TASHAKI AIRBAGS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER 5 YEARS TO GET AN AIRBAG I HAD A 2005 FORD MUSTANG IT NEEDED AN AIRBAG THAT CAR HAS SINCE BEEN TRADED OFF THEN I BOUGHT A 2013 FORD MUSTANG AND IT'S THE SAME THING IF THE AIRBAG BUT WITH THIS 2013 FORD MUSTANG THE LIGHTS KEEP FLICKERING ON AND OFF THEY FADE IN AND OUT THEY'LL COME ON AND THEN THEY'LL GO OUT AND COME BACK ON
TURNED VEHICLE TO THE LEFT OUT OF A DRIVEWAY, PRESSED ON ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND, BACK END FISHTAILED, SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL TO TRY TO DECREASE THE SPIN OF THE TIRES, PUMPED THE BRAKES, OVER CORRECTED AND HIT A PARKED VEHICLE AT BETWEEN 15 TO 20 MILES PER HOUR. ONLY ONE PERSON IN MY VEHICLE AND THE OTHER CAR WAS PARKED NO ONE IN VEHICLE. DRIVERS AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY FROM THE IMPACT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRACKET AND BOLTS THAT SECURED THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING, ENGINE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, MADE RATTLING NOISE BUT STILL IDLING. AFTER FULL SHUTDOWN AND RESTART, ENGINE APPEARED TO WORK FINE. DEALER DETERMINED THROTTLE BODY DEFECTIVE, SIMILAR TO OTHER FORD VEHICLE THROTTLE BODY ISSUES WHICH HAD RECENT RECALLS AND WARRANTY EXTENSIONS, HOWEVER THIS PARTICULAR MODEL AND YEAR IS NOT COVERED. $1250 REPAIR BILL. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WHEEL ALIGNMENT NEEDED TO BE COMPLETED AND THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A PROGRESSING FAILURE WITH THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE WOBBLING AND THE SUSPENSION WAS UNSTABLE WHEN DRIVING OVER UNLEVELED LAND. THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE NEAR THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MORE THAN TWO DEALERS. ONE OF THE DEALERS WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE RECEIVED SEVERAL REPAIRS FROM MORE THAN ONE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE NUTS AND BOLTS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK A THIRD TIME TO REPLACE THE LOWER CONTROL ARM. DURING THE FOURTH REPAIR, THE DEALER REPLACED THE NUTS AND BOLTS AND THE LOWER CONTROL ARM AGAIN. THE COMPONENT FRACTURED A FIFTH TIME AND THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO REMEDY. THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN DRIVING OVER UNLEVELED LAND. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED THE VEHICLE IDLING HIGHLY WHILE AT A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ONE DEALER WHO WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. A SECOND DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE LOW SPEED FUSE WAS BLOWN ON THE FAN AND THE HIGH SPEED ACTIVATED DUE TO THE FAILURE, WHICH CAUSED THE CONDITION. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUSE FOR THE LOW SPEED ON THE FAN CONTROL. THE CONTACT WAS STILL UNABLE TO GET THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE SUSPENSION FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE IDLING AT A STOP SIGN. THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, BUT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. BOTH THE DRIVER AND THE PASSENGER SUFFERED INJURIES AND WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED AN INJURED KNEE AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED A LACERATED HIP AND A FRACTURED LUMBER VERTEBRAE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. I PARKED MY V-6 AUTO TRANSMISSION MUSTANG ON A SLIGHT INCLINE AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. APPROX 60 SECONDS AFTER EXITING, THE MUSTANG STARTED TO ROLL DOWN THE HILL. I WAS ABLE TO CATCH UP TO IT, DIVE IN HEAD FIRST AND PUSH TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTOR FORWARD TO MAKE SURE IT WAS IN PARK(IT WAS). IT CONTINUED TO ROLL DOWN HILL UNTIL IT IMPACTED A BUILDING. AFTER IMPACT I CONFIRMED SHIFT LEVER LOCKED IN PARK. THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT LOCK DRIVETRAIN AND THERE WERE NO SKID OR SLIDE MARKS FROM REAR WHEEL LOCKUP. DAYS LATER, I RETURNED TO SCENE AND RECREATED INCIDENT, PARKING IN SAME LOCATION. SAME ANGLE, ETC. PLACING THE CAR IN PARK HELD IT'S POSITION. PLACING THE CAR IN ANY OTHER GEARSHIFT POSITION AND RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL CAUSED AN IMMEDIATE ROLL BACK. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I EXITED THIS VEHICLE UNLESS THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, IT WOULD OF ROLLED IMMEDIATELY AND THE DOOR WOULD OF KNOCKED ME OVER. MY SUMMARY IS: PARK SELECTION OF GEARSHIFT LEVER FAILED TO LOCK DRIVETRAIN, ALLOWING CAR TO ROLL DOWN HILL AND IMPACT A BUILDING. *TR
I HAVE ALWAYS HAD MY 2013 FORD MUSTANG SERVICED BY LICENSED FORD DEALERS. IT HAS ALWAYS HAD REGULAR MAINTENANCE. ON TWO OCCASIONS, I BROUGHT THE RECALL TO THE ATTENTION OF THE FORD SERVICE DEPT. HOWEVER FORD HAS NEVER ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IN FACT, FORD HAS NEVER EVEN NOTIFIED ME OF THE PENDING RECALL - EVEN WHEN I HAVE HAD FORD SERVICE PERFORM MAINTENANCE ON THE CAR. ALL 2013 MUSTANGS COME EQUIPPED WITH LED DRL LAMPS THAT ILLUMINATE FULL TIME WHENEVER THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. THESE ARE TWO WHITE STRIPS ALONGSIDE EACH HEADLAMP. IN BROAD DAYLIGHT, THEY ARE BARELY NOTICEABLE; LESS UP CLOSE. ON OVERCAST DAYS, THEY ARE SLIGHTLY VISIBLE BUT SO DIM, THEY OFFER NO "ADDED" SAFETY EFFECT FOR HAVING THEM ON, VS OTHER VEHICLES WITH DRL'S. I'VE SEEN OTHER MUSTANGS SAME YEAR AS MINE & THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM. AT NIGHT, THEY ARE LIT WITH SAME BRIGHTNESS LEVEL, WHICH IS JUST ABOUT RIGHT (AT NIGHT). 2013-14 FORD MUSTANG SHELBY GT500S ARE SHIPPED WITH STOCK GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 SUPERCAR G:2 TIRES WHICH, ACCORDING TO A GOODYEAR PRODUCT SERVICE BULLETIN FROM MARCH 28, 2011 ARE KNOWN TO CRACK IN TEMPERATURES BELOW 40F. THE CRACKS APPEAR IN THE SIDEWALLS/TREAD AND CAN CAUSE THE TIRE TO SEPARATE WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING A CRASH AND SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DEATH. I CALLED FORD TODAY WHEN I NOTICED THAT AT LEAST ONE OF MY REAR TIRES HAD DEVELOPED A CRACK (ITS IN THE 40S OUTSIDE TODAY; WAS HIGH 30S OVERNIGHT - THOUGH MY CAR IS STORED INSIDE IN A 2 CAR GARAGE, AND THEREFORE WARMER). FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE ADVISED THEY WERE POWERLESS TO DO ANYTHING AND I NEEDED TO CONTACT GOODYEAR DIRECTLY. GOODYEAR IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE (THEY ISSUED THE PSB AFTER ALL), AND ARE WILLING TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE TIRES (ON A PRORATED BASIS) - BUT THEY CONTINUE TO SELL THE TIRE!. FORD HAS WASHED THEIR HANDS OF THE ISSUE COMPLETELY AND REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE - STATING THEY'RE NOT AWARE OF GOODYEAR'S PUBLICALLY AVAILABLE PSB (HEARD FROM BOTH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LOCAL FORD DEALER). MANY, MANY OWNERS OF THESE CARS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE CRACKS AND REPLACED TIRES AT THEIR OWN COST (USUALLY SWITCHING TO ANOTHER BRAND). I ACCELERATED FROM A TRAFFIC LIGHT, FROM A FULL STOP. AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH I DEPRESSED FULLY THE CLUTCH PEDAL IN ORDER TO SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR. THE CLUTCH PEDAL REMAINED IN THE FULLY DEPRESSED POSITION AND DID NOT RETURN TO THE RAISED POSITION. THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER COULD NOT BE MOVED INTO ANY GEAR, BUT COULD BE MOVED FREELY WITHIN THE NEUTRAL POSITION. I RAISED THE CLUTCH PEDAL BY PLACING THE TIP OF MY SHOE UNDER IT AND PULLING UPWARD, BUT NO CHANGE WAS OBSERVED IN THE OPERATION OF THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER. I COULD START, AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE AS USUAL, THUS I HAD POWER BRAKES AND POWER STEERING AS I PUSHED THE CAR AND THEN COASTED TO A STORE'S PARKING LOT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED HOME. THERE WAS NO CHANGE IN THE OPERATION OF THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER OR THE CLUTCH PEDAL AFTER THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED OVERNIGHT. THE CLUTCH PEDAL REMAINS FULLY DEPRESSED, UNLESS ONE RAISES IT. THE CONDITION DESCRIBED ABOVE HAS NOT AFFECTED THE OPERATION OF THE STARTER INTERLOCK, THUS THE ENGINE WILL NOT START UNLESS THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS FULLY DEPRESSED. *TR
WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED MY VEHICLE, I NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD MAKE A GRINDING SOUND LIKE METAL ON METAL WHEN I WOULD PUSH THE BRAKES TO STOP. THIS FIRST HAPPENED AT AROUND 2K MILES. I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY ASKED ME A QUESTION, THEY ASKED "HOW OFTEN DO YOU DRIVE THE VEHICLE?" THEN THEY PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT "IF YOU DONOT DRIVE IT ENOUGH, IT IS RUST ON THE ROTORS CAUSING THIS NOISE." THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND THAT WAS THAT. I LATER ON TOOK MY VEHICLE IN WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT AT AROUND 10K MILES WHEN I WANTED TO HAVE MY OIL CHANGED AND MY TIRES ROTATED. I WANTED THEM TO CHECK MY BRAKING SYSTEM WHILE DOING THAT. AFTER SERVICE WAS DONE, THEY INFORMED ME THAT NO ISSUES WERE FOUND WITH MY BRAKES, OR THE BRAKING SYSTEM. MY VEHICLE STILL MAKES THE NOISE WHEN I PUSH THE BREAKS.
