There are 3 owner-reported visibility & wipers complaints for the 2024 Ford Mustangin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
While driving approximately 55 mph on a four-lane highway around 8 p.m., the rear window of my 2024 Mustang GT 5.0 Premium exploded/shattered and is now visibly pulling away from the frame. The glass appears ready to collapse inward. Weather conditions were damp with light misting rain and a temperature near 55°F. The rear defroster was not in use, and there were no warning signs or cracks prior to the failure. Only one other vehicle was nearby, so it is not consistent with road debris. The explosion/shatter occurred suddenly and without impact. Photos clearly show the glass shattered separating from the body seam. This presents a clear safety hazard because the rear window could shatter or detach while driving, risking injury to occupants and other motorists. I have photos documenting the damage. The vehicle has not yet been repaired. Ford dealership will be notified when they open in the morning. No injuries occurred, but safety risk is significant. This vehicle is a year old and is garage kept and not exposed to harsh environments. There was no reason for the window to shatter.
I was driving on the highway went to adjust my rearview mirror and my mirror just snapped from the windshield and broke off from the windshield also breaking the windshield as well took it to the ford dealership the car is just only 5k miles they wouldn’t even cover it said it was “excessive force” multiple people with the same vehicle had the same issue and they don’t want to cover it it’s $1000 to replace the windshield or you rearview mirror is just broke and the windshield is just cracked
The contact owns a 2024 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to make a left turn, the contact was unable to see oncoming traffic in the passenger's side rearview mirror. The contact adjusted the passenger's side rearview mirror, but the failure persisted. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 400.
