TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD RANGER. A SEVEN YEAR OLD ENTERED THE VEHICLE AND PLACED THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION; HOWEVER, HE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF GEAR OR PLACE HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS ON TOP OF A THREE YEAR OLD CHILD. THE CHILD'S LEGS WERE BROKEN AND HIS SKULL WAS FRACTURED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER SHOULDERS AND ARMS IN THE PROCESS. THE HENDERSON POLICE DEPARTMENT FILED REPORT NUMBER 09-12668. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE VEHICLE TO ROLL BACKWARDS ON ITS OWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 15,000.
TIRE VALVE STEM FAILURE ON 2007 FORD RANGER. 1ST FAILURE DEC 08, SECOND FAILURE MAY 09. I JUST RECEIVE A REMINDER LETTER FROM FORD RECOMMENDING CHECKING THE TIRE PRESSURE ROUTINELY AND NOTING THAT THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM IDENTIFIED WITH THESE VALVE STEMS. I CHECKED THE REMAINING TWO AND THEY ARE BOTH ABOUT TO FALL OFF. WHY ISN'T THIS A MANDATORY RECALL???? THEY INDICATE THAT IF MY VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY THEY CAN BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. WELL I DRIVE ALOT AND HAVE 50K ON MY TRUCK. FORD HAS POOR WARRANTIES AND IT IS NOT MY FAULT THEY DID NOT PROPERLY TEST THESE VALVE STEMS PRIOR TO DEPLOYING THEM. I ONLY HAD MY TRUCK FOR 1 1/2 YEARS BEFORE THE FIRST FAILURE. THIS KIND OF STUFF NEEDS TO BE FIXED. NO WONDER THE BIG THREE ARE IN SUCH A WORLD OF HURT. IF THEY WOULD JUST PUT OUT GOOD VEHICLES AND STAND BEHIND THEM. *TR
TIRE DEFLATED DUE TO A CRACKED VALVE STEM. A SECOND DEFLATION THREE DAYS LATER ON ANOTHER OF THE TIRES. THAT ALSO HAD A CRACKED VALVE STEM. I DECIDED TO HAVE THE REMAINING TWO VALVE STEMS REPLACED AS I FELT THIS WAS TOO MUCH OF A COINCIDENCE. I HAD THE WORK DONE AT A LOCAL TIRE SHOP. I OWN A 2007 FORD RANGER. *TR
I HAD ALL 4 VALVE STEMS FAIL ON MY 2006 FORD RANGER WITHIN A WEEK. *TR
REAR ENDED A CAR NOT MY FAULT AT ABOUT 35 MILES PER HOUR AIR BAG ON MY 2007 FORD RANGER FAILED TO DEPLOY THIS WAS INJUNE 2008 TRUCK ONLY HAD 27000 MILES ON IT! SINCE AIR BAG FAILED CAUGHT RIGHT ARM AND HAND IN STEERING WHEEL LEAVING IT CRIPPLED! I SENT MY COMPLAINTS TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY THEY TOTALED IGNORED ALL MY CALLS AND COMPLAINTS! *TR
2007 FORD RANGER AIR BAG FAILURE IN A FRONT END COLLISION. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING PERMANENT INJURY TO HER RIGHT HAND. *NJ
ON 10-07-2007 MY 2007' FORD RANGER PICK UP BURNED UP IN A FIRE THAT STARTED ON THE INSIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE THE AIR BAG WAS. ALSO THE RIGHT KICK PANEL WAS ALSO BURNED. UP. THE FIRE DEPT. CAME OUT PUT THE FIRE OUT AND TOLD US. THERE WAS ANOTHER FORD TRUCK THAT THEY OWNED WHICH DID THE SAME THING, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT TWO BRAND NEW FORD TRUCKS BOTH OF THEM ARE FORD RANGER P/U AND TOLD THEM THAT I WANTED THEM TO LOAN US A CAR AND CHECK OUT THE FORD RANGER THAT WE STILL OWN THE SERVICE LADY SAID THAT ALL THEY WOULD DO IS TAKE A QUICK LOOK AT IT AND BRING IT IN ON A SAT. AM. THEY DON'T CARE WE ARE WORRIED THAT THIS OTHER FORD RANGER IS GOING TO DO THE SAME THING MY WIFE ALMOST DIED BECAUSE JUST RIGHT AFTER SHE GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THE AIR BAG BLEW OUT AND IT WAS ON FIRE THE FIRE MAN SAID IT WOULD HAD KILLED MY WIFE IF SHE WOULD HAVE HAD BEEN STILL SETTING IN THAT TRUCK. FOLLOW UP REPORT RE:ODI 10205570 I TOOK MY OTHER RANGER P/U TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE AIRBAG AND WIRING CHECKED ALSO I HAVE RATTLE NOISE IN LEFT SIDE REAR WHEEL AND PLASTIC COVER ASY.CHANGED DEALERSHIP HAD MY TRUCK FROM 10-15-07 TO 10-19-07 GOT TRUCK BACK THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FIXED TOOK TRUCK ON HIGHWAY RATTLE SOUND STILL THERE WIFE CONTACTED DEALERSHIP TO ASK IF PART WAS ORDERED AND OR PART WAS REPLACED SERVICE PERSON STATED NO ALSO LOOKS LIKE NOTHING WAS DONE TO THIS TRUCK!!! I AM GOING TO TAKE MY TRUCK TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. I DON'T TRUST THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT MY TWO NEW FORD RANGERS FROM. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 ARGO AVENGER ATV (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE UNIT HAS BETWEEN 90-120 HOURS. THE AXLE OF THE VEHICLE HAS A FLANGE WITH A SEAL ON THE OUTSIDE, WHICH IS USED TO PREVENT EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF WATER FROM LEAKING INTO THE INTERIOR. THE RUBBER SEAL WEARS OR CUTS INTO THE METAL AXLE AND NO LONGER PREVENTS WATER FROM ENTERING THE INTERIOR. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90.
THE EXTERIOR MIRRORS ARE TOO SMALL AND THE INSIDE DOOR/WINDOW COWLING/TRIM IS TO RESTRICTIVE FOR QUICK ACCURATE VISIBILITY. *AK
CRASH: 3 WEEKS AGO ON I-24, EDDYVILLE, KY, INVOLVING ONE OCCUPANT, DRIVER, NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT W/FRONTAL IMPACT WITH BRIDGE, RESULTING IN NUMEROUS ROLLOVERS, CAUSING SIGNIFICANT INJURY TO DRIVER AND DEMOLISHED THE VEHICLE. *AK
TAKATA RECALL I'M STILL WAITING FOR INFORMATION TO GET THIS FIXED. IF SOMEONE DIES, LITIGATION WILL COMMENCE!
2007 FORD RANGER SPORT WITH 3.0 V6. *TR
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE 2007 FORD RANGER CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WHILE DRIVING 45-60 MPH. THE VEHICLE SHOOK UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO WEATHER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, THEY ALSO INFORMED HIM THAT THE ICE BUILD UP IN THE WHEELS AND THREW THE WHEELS OFF BALANCE. THE MANUFACTURER TOLD HIM THAT THE WHEELS WERE NOT MANUFACTURED TO PREVENT WHEEL VIBRATION. *AK UPDATED 03/30/07.*JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD RANGER. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER'S SIDE DOORS RATTLE AND SHAKE AS IF SOMETHING WAS LOOSE. THE CONTACT OFTEN HOLDS HIS LEG AGAINST THE DOOR TO LESSEN THE NOISE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. IN ADDITION, THE TAILGATE HANDLE IS MADE OF METAL, COATED WITH PLASTIC AND HAS LEVERS ON BOTH SIDES. THE DRIVER'S SIDE LEVER DETACHED BECAUSE THE LEVERAGE WAS UNEVENLY DISTRIBUTED. 2007 FORD RANGER CUSTOMER STATES THAT THERE IS AN VIOLENT UNCONTROLLABLE SHAKING AND SHIMMY BETWEEN 45 TO 65 MPH**CC THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONSUMER TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED, THAT ICE AND SNOW WOULD BUILD UP IN THE GROOVE OF THE WHEEL. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT SINCE HE LIVED IN A CITY WITH SEVERE WINTER WEATHER, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. *JB
