JULY 2016 WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ABOUT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR MUST BE REPLACED. THIS IS TAKING WAY TOO LONG TO BE FIXED. WE ARE A CITY DEPT. IN CHESAPEAKE VA THAT PROVIDES MOSQUITO CONTROL.

TAKATA RECALL - PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR COULD RUPTURE IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE THE SUPPLEMENTAL FRONTAL AIRBAGS ARE DESIGNED TO DEPLOY. THIS HAS TAKEN WAY TOO LONG. WE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION JULY 2016 - ONE YEAR AGO! WE ARE IN A VERY HUMID AREA AND THIS IS A CITY VEHICLE THAT HANDLES MOSQUITO CONTROL. WE ARE IN MOSQUITO SEASON AND NEED THIS VEHICLE!

TAKATA RECALL INITIAL NOTICED WAS RECEIVED IN THE MAIL IN JULY 2016, BUT NEVER RECEIVED A FOLLOW UP LETTER STATING WHERE THE CAR WOULD BE SERVICED AND IF THEY EVEN HAD FOUND THE RIGHT PART FOR MY CAR. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION TO MY JOB WHICH IS 30 MILES AWAY AND REALLY WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED.

TAKATA RECALL: I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD OVER A YEAR AGO NOTIFYING ME OF A RECALL. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO SEVERAL DEALERS AND HAVE CALLED NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE GETTING NOTICE AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK AND THAT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED ONCE THEY GET THE PARTS. I FEEL THAT FORD IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET.
TAKATA RECALL, RECEIVED FORD RECALL 1YEAR AND 2 MONTHS AGO. LOCAL DEALERS STILL DO NOT HAVE ANY REPLACEMENT PARTS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SCAM.
TAKATA RECALL. NOTIFICATION OF JULY 2016 STATED MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 16S26 / NHTSA RECALL 16V-384. SINCE THEN, THERE HAS BEEN NO ACTIVITY OR CORRESPONDENCE. HAVE PLACED NUMEROUS CALLS TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO INFORMED ME THEY HAVE NO REPLACEMENTS. NOW I AM NOTIFIED OF THE TAKATA BANKRUPTCY PROCEEDINGS WITH IMPLICATIONS I MAY LOSE ANY LEGAL RECOURSES IF THE REPAIR IS NOT MADE. WHY HAS NO FURTHER ACTIVITY BEEN PURSUED TO SATISFY MY RECALL? HOW DO I PROTECT MYSELF AND FAMILY FROM PENDING DISASTER?

TAKATA RECALL - IN DECEMBER OF 2016, I CONTACTED : ORCHID ISLE AUTO CENTER, KONA BRANCH, 76-6319 KUAKINI HIGHWAY, KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII 96740, BECAUSE OF AN AIRBAG RECALL I RECEIVED FROM TAKATA IN JULY OF 2016 FOR MY FORD RANGER. ATTACHED IS MY EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS WITH ORCHID ISLE FORD, SINCE THEN. IN SHORT, THEY HAVE NOT REPLACED MY AIRBAG AND I CANNOT SELL MY VEHICLE. DEAR ORCHID ISLE, BECAUSE OUR RANGER IS ALMOST 10 YEARS OLD AND IN THE PAST, YOU HAVE SUGGESTED WE SELL IT ON OUR OWN, WE HAVE PUT OUT SOME FEELERS. UNFORTUNATELY, BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY TAKATA AIRBAG, IT HAS CREATED A SITUATION FOR US IN SELLING THIS TRUCK. WE RECEIVED A NOTICE OF FEDERAL BANKRUPTCY BY TAKATA, WHICH SAYS WE ARE STILL SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE A FREE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT BY THE FORD DEALER THAT SOLD US THE VEHICLE AND IF NOT, THEY HAVE TOLD ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. HERE IS OUR DILEMMA. OUR VEHICLE THAT IS ALMOST 10 YEARS OLD, HAS ONLY 40,000 MILES ON IT. IT LOOKS LIKE IT JUST CAME OUT OF THE SHOWROOM AND YET, WE CANNOT SELL IT. "TAKATA RECALL" IN JULY 2016 I RECEIVED THE "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" FROM FORD TELLING ME MY VEHICLE HAD THE FAULTY PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG AND TO TAKE IT TO MY DEALER FOR REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR. HAVING BEEN INFORMED THAT THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS FAULTY I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO HAVE ANY RIDE AS A PASSENGER BECAUSE IF SOMETHING HAPPENED AND THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND INJURED SOMEONE I WOULD BE AT FAULT AND MY INSURANCE WOULD NOT COVER ME. I RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE CONCERNING THE AIRBAG IN OCTOBER AND ALSO INFO THAT TAKATA WAS FILING BANKRUPTCY. THE DEALER STILL DOES NOT HAVE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR. I WOULD IMAGINE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO IS IN THIS SITUATION. CAN ANYONE DO ANYTHING ABOUT GETTING PARTS TO THE DEALERS TO MAKE REPAIRS? I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT CANNOT BE USED AS DESIGNED.

I CHECKED WITH MY LOCAL FORD DEALER, WHO INDICATED TO ME FORD STILL DOESN'T HAVE REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!! A YEAR AND A HALF LATER, AND STILL NO COMPLIANCE? THE VALUE OF MY VEHICLE IS AFFECTED, NOT TO MENTION MY SAFETY. MAYBE IF I NAME NHTSA AS A DEFENDANT IN A LAWSUIT, THEY'LL FINALLY PUT THE SCREWS TO FORD???

I WENT TO FORD.COM AND DID A CHAT WITH AN AGENT THAT FED ME CANNED RESPONSES THAT TOLD ME THERE WERE ISSUES FINDING A SUPPLIER TO MAKE THE PARTS AND THERE WAS NO WHERE TO ESCALATE THE ISSUE AND I WOULD RECEIVE A LETTER IN THE MAIL WHEN PARTS WERE RECEIVED. I AM VERY CONCERNED BY FORDS NEGLIGENCE IN DEALING WITH THIS RECALL. HOW CAN THEY SEND ME A LETTER SAYING IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT MY AIRBAG MAY KILL ME AND NOT DO ANYTHING FOR A YEAR AND A HALF TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. HOW CAN I GET HELP IN GETTING THIS RECALL COMPLETED?

WE WERE NOTIFIED IN JULY 2016 OF THE RECALL AND HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE A DTAE WHEN THEY WILL REPLACE THE VEHICLE AIR BAG.

TAKATA RECALL. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN UNDER A RECALL FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS. INITIALLY I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS OKAY TO ALLOW A PASSENGER TO RIDE IN THAT SEAT. THAT HAS BEEN CHANGED TO NOT ALLOW A PASSENGER. THIS IS TOO LONG FOR VERY LIMITED USE OF MY VEHICLE. OTHER PEOPLE'S FORDS HAVE BEEN REPAIRED AND I SEE WHERE FOR SOME RANGERS THE PARTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN RELEGATED TO A LESS IMPORTANT POSITION. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF VEHICLES UNDER RECALL, BUT I AM SURE THEY'RE CAPABLE OF CREATING REPLACEMENTS IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS. I FIRST RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN JUNE 2016 AND MY VEHICLE HAS YET TO BE REPAIRED. I HAVE CONTACTED THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN MY HOMETOWN AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS AND I STILL GET THE WORD THAT "THE PARTS ARE NOT IN YET." I HAVE FURTHER RECEIVED THE NOTICE FROM TK HOLDINGS INC. REGARDING THE BANKRUPTCY. PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED IF THEY ARE REFUSING TO SHIP THE PARTS OUT TO DEALERSHIPS.

I EVEN CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CO AND THEY PUT ME OFF TOO. HUFF FORD IN WYTHEVILLE VA IS THE DEALERSHIP (1-888-475-0584). NO ACCIDENTS YET, BUT I FEEL IT IS UNSAFE FOR ANYONE TO ERIDE WITH ME OR TO TAKE LLONG TRIPS. PLEASE HELP SINCE NO ONE ELSE WILL.
