ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS BROKE, CAUSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO GET STUCK AND ALMOST RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. *AK.ET.
ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE DUE TO POWER STEERING RETURN HOSE SPILL ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WHICH STARTED A FIRE FROM THE FLUID GETTING DOWN ONTO THE ENGINE. *AK
THE CONSUMER HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH REAR BODY FRAME. WHEN THE CONSUMER TRIES TO STEER THE ENGINE STALLS . THE DEFECT DESCRIBED COMPLIES WITH THE DEFECTS DESCRIBED IN RECALL NUMBER 93V106002. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
BOTH ENGINE MOUNTS FAILED.
THERE IS A CLUNKING SOUND IN THE TRANSMISSION AREA WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR TAKING OFF. MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR RETAINING PLATES ARE BROKEN, AND THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. DEALER NOT WILLING TO CORRECT FREE OF CHARGE. VEHICLE NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL # 93V106002 STRUCTURE: FRAME MEMBERS AND BODY. *AK
FRONT & REAR ENGINE MOUNTS REPLACE ABOUT 3 TO 4 YEARS AGO UNDER FORD RECALL PROGRAM. FRONT & REAR ENGINE MOUNTS FAILED AGAIN CAUSING EXTREME ENGINE VIBRATION AND CAUSING ENGINE TO HIT CAR HOOD. FORD WAS CONTACTED AND REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND REPLACE THE PREVIOUSLY FAILED AND REPLACED ENGINE MOUNTS HAD FAILED AGAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME. IN ORDER TO AVOID ANY FURTHER DAMAGE, I REPLACED THESE PARTS AT MY OWN EXPENSE. THIS CAR IS 8 YEARS OLD AND IS ON IT'S THIRD SET OF ENGINE MOUNTS ! THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE REPLACED BY FORD.
BODY MOUNTS SEPARATED FROM THE ENGINE, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO FALL ONTO THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
SUBFRAME RECALL WORK PERFORMED AND FAILED RESULTING IN THE DRIVER LOOSING STEERING ABILITY.
THE 2 MAJOR BOLTS THAT HOLD THE SUB-FRAMES UP BROKE, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO FALL WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
SUBFRAME MOUNTS FAILED AFTER RECALL REPAIRS, CAUSING STEERING PROBLEMS. (QCAW)
I HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY (SAFETY RECALL 98S36) FOR THE SAME PROBLEM ON A 1987 FORD TAURUS WHICH I ALSO OWN. TO DATE, HOWEVER, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE 1990 FORD TAURUS DESCRIBED ABOVE, ALTHOUGH THIS VEHICLE HAS IN FACT EXPERIENCED A SUB-FRAME FAILURE. THIS IS QUITE LIKELY MORE A FAILURE OF COMMUNICATION THAN A LAPSE ON THE PART OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY. I WOULD APPRECIATE ASSISTANCE IN GETTING A RECALL NOTICE ON THE 1990 FORD TAURUS. *AK
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 92V1130, SEAT BELT BUCKLES; ; OVER 6 YRS AGO. DUE TO NATURE OF JOB (TRAVELING) WAS UNABLE TO HAVE WORK DONE UNTIL NOW. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER & TOLD NO RECALLS SHOWING. MANUFACTURER CHECKED & SHOWED 5 RECALLS. DEALER REPAIRED 3 RECALLS, BUT SAID OTHER 2 WERE ALREADY DONE BUT NOT SHOWING IN COMPUTER. *AK
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 91V-134.001 OVER 6YRS AGO. DUE TO NATURE OF JOB WAS UNABLE TO GET REPAIRS DONE UNTIL NOW. DEALER SHOWS NO RECALL. MANUFACTURER SHOWS 5 RECALLS. DEALER REPAIRED 3 RECALLS, BUT DID NOT SHOW OTHER 2, BRAKES & BELTS. SAID WAS DONE ALREADY. OWNER DID NOT HAVE REPAIRS DONE YET. *AK
RECALL 92S61/S1; SUB-FRAME MOUNT BOLTS BROKE LOOSE. THERE WAS A RECALL IN 7/93. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED IN 94, AND FOUR YEARS LATER THE PROBLEM REOCCURRED, ANDERSON FORD IS NO LONGER IN BUSINESS, AND JACK ADKINS FORD CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WAS DRIVING VEHICLE WHEN ENGINE MOUNTS GAVE WAY. ENGINE FELL DOWN. WAS TOLD BY DEALER, THAT BOLTS WENT THROUGH CUPS WHICH WERE RUSTED RECALL 93V106002. *AK
DUE TO AN ANTI-FREEZE LEAK A SMELL COMES THROUGH THE VEHICLE WHICH MAY CAUSE DIZZINESS. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.
STEERIN BECAME HEAVY AND FAILED, MOTOR DROPPED ONTO AXLE - EXACTLY LIKE RECALL #93V106002. FORD CLAIMS NO SUCH RECALL EXISTS.
VEHICLE COULD BE STARTED WITHOUT KEY IN THE IGNITION. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK PRIOR TO THIS, THE KEY WOULD BECOME STUCK IN THE IGNITION CYLINDER AND WOULD NOT BUDGE, IGNITION CYLINDER COMPLETELY FAILED ON 18-JUN-1998, CONSUMER NO LONGER OWNS THIS VEHICLE. *SLC
VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE AT AN INTERSECTION, AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER WAS INJURED. *AK *ML

DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG EXPLODED VIOLENTLY. BURNS AND CHEST INJURY TO DRIVER AND PASSENGER.
ACCELERATOR STUCK WHILE ACCELERATING ONTO HIGHWAY. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ALONE AND COULD NOT REGAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR. CAR WAS WRECKED BEYOND REPAIR.
FORD HAS A SECRET WARRANTY ON THIS ITEM IN CERTAIN STATES, FORD REFUSES TO FIX THIS OR HELP, THEY SAY THERE IS NO WARRANTY

CONSUMER EXPERIENCED SYMTOMS OF RECALL NOTICE 98S36 PRIOR TO RECALL NOTICE WHICH RESULTED IN LOSS OF CONTROL AND ACCIDENT.
WHILE DRIVING TEMPERATURE SENSOR CAME ON/OFF, AND VEHICLE CUT OFF. MECHANIC SAID IT WAS TIMING CHAIN. THEN, ANOTHER MECHANIC SAID IT WAS HEAD GASKET. *AK
RIGHT/REAR POLY COATED STEEL WHEEL CRACKED OPEN FROM STUD HOLE TO CENTER HOLE.
RECALLS 93V-106.002/MFR 98S36.THE SAME PROBLEM EXISTS WITH THE FRONT BODY MOUNTS. DEALER CONTACTED, AND CANNOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM WITH RECALL. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
WHEN PUTTING VEHICLE IN REVERSE, THE ENGINE REVVED, AND THE VEHICLE ZOOMED OUT OF THE GARAGE AT A VERY HIGH RATE OF SPEED. WENT ACROSS THE STREET AND HIT A DITCH. THE DRIVER NEVER PUT FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL OR BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE IS BEING REPAIRED. *AK
HEAD GASKET FAILED TWICE.
CAR WAS DRIVEN AT SLOW SPEED IN ORDER TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN. IN DOING SO, PART OF THE STEERING ASSEMBLY UNDER THE FRONT OF THE CAR BROKE OFF, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY WHICH BROKE PUNCTURED THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE.
CAR WAS DRIVEN AT LOW SPEED TURNING CORNER (DIRECTION OF TURN - RIGHT), WHEN FRONT STEERING CONTROL WAS SUDDENLY LOST. STEERING CONTROL LOSS WAS DUE TO STEERING ASSEMBLY UNDER FRONT END OF CAR BECOMING DETACHED FROM STRUT. THIS CAUSED SEVERED STEERING ASSEMBLY TO PUNCTURE RIGHT FRONT TIRE AND RIGHT REAR TIRE DUE TO SUDDEN BREAKING OF VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 55MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY LOCKED UP. COULD NOT CHANGE FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRALOR PARK. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER & WAS INFORMED THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHOT & COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 55MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY LOCKED UP. COULD NOT CHANGE FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL OR PARK. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER, AND WAS INFORMED THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHOT AND COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. *AK
WATER PUMP FAILED.
VIOLENT DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER'S AIR BAG DURING A COLLISION, RESULTED IN A BROKEN NOSE/CHEEK FRACTURE/NECK VERTEBRAE DAMAGE AND MOUTH BURNS. ALSO VEHICLE WAS TOTALLED. *AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING APPROX. 40 MPH, WHEN THE AIR BAG MADE A NOISE, THEN DEPLOYED. THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE AND SMOKE. CONSUMER CONTACTED FORD AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD OR COULD DO. *AK
VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING. OWNER HAD VEHICLE TOWED INTO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE STARTS UP IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT STALLS AND DIES. *AK
DURING FRONTAL IMPACT AT 30-35 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK *SLC
BODY MOUNTS AT THE REAR CORNER OF THE SUBFRAMECAME DETACHED THE REAR CORNER OF THE SUBFRAME DETACHED . CAR WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL #93V106002 IN MARCH OF 1993. *AK THE BOLTS RUSTED ON 4 YEARS OF THE RECALL REPAIR, CONSUMER WAS CHARGED FOR REPAIRS. *SLC
WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE ENGINE COMPLETELY DIES OUT. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TAKEN TO A MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC PUT IT ON A TESTING MACHINE AND IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION COIL AND THE DISTRIBUTOR WERE FRIED. ALSO THEY CONTACTED THE DEALER ,AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. *AK
MOTOR MOUNTS FAILED, CAUSING STEERING LOSS .
MANIFOLD AIR PRESSURE SENSOR FAILURE CAUSED ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN.
THE CAR IS UNDER THE MOTOR MOUNT RECALL AND FORD SAID IT WAS DONE ONCE, BUT THE MOUNTS HAVE FAILED AGAIN. FORD REFUSES TO FIX THEM AGAIN UNDER THE RECALL AND WANTS THE CUSTOMER TO PAY FOR IT. *AK
DUE TO EXCESSIVE RUSTING, MAIN REAR SUBFRAME MOUNT BOLTS SNAPPED LEAVING VEHICLE OUT OF CONTROL AND UNDRIVABLE.
NO SUMMARY
PASSENGER'S SEATBELT DOES NOT RETRACT.IT WON'T PROTECT OCCUPANT IN EVENT OF A CRASH. THERE IS A RECALL 92V113000, BUT THIS VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BUT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE THROTTLE LINKAGE AND CONTROL MALFUNCTIONED, OVERRIDING THE BRAKING SYSTEM WHICH COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *AK
THE DEFECTIVE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS WHEELS CRACKED IN HALF, STARTING AT EDGE NEXT TO TIRE THROUGH THE LUG NUTS INTO THE HUB AREA WHICH CAUSED LOSS OF CONTROL, ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *AK *JB
