WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 40 MPH NOTICED CAR WAS SLUGGISH AND WOULD DIE AT STOP SIGNS/ NO HEAT. ALSO, NOTICED GAS MILEAGE HAD DROPPED FROM 22 TO 14 MPH. TOOK VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC WHO SAID THAT IT WAS THE ENGINE HEAD GASKET. MECHANIC SAID THERE HAVE BEEN MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH THES HEAD GASKET. *AK
VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL 98 V 323 000/ SUBFRAME CORROSION ON 03-MAR-1999 AT VICTOR FORD IN WAUCONDA, IL 847-526-5541. CONSUMER STATED THAT REMEDY HAS FAILED. *AK MOTOR MOUNTS HAVE REPLACED, AS WELL AS EXHAUST SYSTEM BECAUSE ENGINE PIPE INTO MUFFLER WAS CRACKED DUE TO CONSTANT JERKING MOTION. *JB
ENGINE HEAD GASKET BLEWOUT WHILE DRIVING AROUND FOR AN HOUR AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH ON CITY ROADS. DEALERSHIP REPLACED LEAKING HEAD GASKET AND VALVE COVER GASKET, AND O2 SENSOR DUE TO COOLANT CONTAMINATION. ALSO, THERMOSTAT AND SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.*AK
DURING A REGULAR CHECK UP A TECHNICIAN FOUND ENGINE HEAD GASKET LEAKAGE. MANUFACTURER SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 1994 FORD TAURUS. *AK

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STARTED MISSING WITH ALOT OF SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE TAIL PIPE. MECHANIC DIAGNOSED IT AS A BLOWN HEAD GASKET AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SINCE FORD IS REIMBURSING FOR THESE REPAIRS ON THE '94 AND '95 TAURUSES, THIS OWNER BELIEVES THAT THE SAME REPAIRS FOR THE '93 SHOULD BE REIMBURSED ALSO. *AK *ML
HEADLIGHTS QUIT WORKING WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. CHANGED FROM HIGH BEAM TO LOW BEAM THEN LIGHTS FAILED FOR APPRX. 5 SECS THEN CAME BACK ON. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED OF 55 MPH NOTICED SMOKE FROM TAIL PIPE AND ENGINE OVERHEATING. DROVE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP THAT INFORMED CONSUMER OF A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. THIS WAS THE SECOND BLOWN HEAD GASKET. FIRST HEAD GASKET WAS REPLACED AT 75,000 MILES. DEALER/MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. *AK *ML
I SAW THAT FORD ISSUED A RECALL ON 94-95 TAURUS WITH THE 3.8L ENGINES THAT HAD A HEAD GASKET FAILURE. I WOULD LIKE YOU TO PUT PRESSURE ON FORD TO OPEN IT UP TO OTHER YEARS AND MODELS OF FORDS. I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET WITH THE SAME PROBLEM THAT I HAVE JUST EXPERIENCED WITH MY HEAD GASKET FAILING. IN ADDITION, I WORK AT A SMALL COMPANY WITH ONLY 25 EMPLOYEES AND JUST FOUND OUT THAT ANOTHER PERSON IN OUR COMPANY HAS A 1993 FORD TAURUS. HE JUSTED HAD TO REPLACE HIS HEAD GASKET ON HIS FORD, AND IT ONLY HAD 60K MILES ON IT. TO ME THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT FORD CAN GET AWAY WITH SO MANY OTHER FORDS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS THE 94-95 THAT THEY JUST RECALLED LAST MONTH. PLEASE PUT PRESSURE ON FORD TO WIDEN THE RECALL TO OTHER YEARS THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS. THANK YOU. *AK
BOTH ENGINE HEAD GASKETS FAILED. FORD HAS EXTENDED WARRANTY ON 94 AND 95 MODEL YEAR CARS WITH SAME ENGINE. WON'T COVER 93. *AK
I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO A TRANSMISSION DEALER IN MESA, AZ, 7 TIMES AND THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. THE CAR DOES NOT SHIFT RIGHT IN SECOND GEAR WHEN IT IS WARMED UP. IT SEEMS TO SHIFT OKAY WHEN IT IS COLD. THEY HAVE REPLACED A SHIFT KIT, TAKEN APART THE TRANSMISSION SEVERAL TIMES, REPLACED A COOLANT PART, VALVES AND OTHER VARIOUS PARTS AND THEY DON'T SEEM TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. HAS THERE BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE 1993 FORD TAURUS SHO?
ENGINE CHECK LIGHT WENT ON. TEMPERATURE GUAGE WENT TO HOT, BUT NOT IN THE RED ZONE. CHECKED OIL, ADDED HALF A QUART. CHECKED ANTI-FREEZE,ADDED A QUART. PROBLEM STILL PERSISTED. SERVICE STATION TESTED ANTI-FREEZE FOR EXHAUST GAS. BLUE DYE TURNED YELLOW (POSITIVE).*AK
ENGINE STOPPED OPERATING ONE MORNING ON A COLD START AND CAUSED A BLACK SMOKE TO COME OUT OF TAILPIPE. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC, STATED THAT HEAD GASKET HAD FAILED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS. *CONSUMER SPENT APPROXIMATELY $2500.00 TO REPAIR THIS DEFECT.*AK
CHANGED COOLANT, MECHANIC SAID VERY LITTLE COOLANT OR OIL. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE HEAD GASKET WAS BLOWN, ENGINE COULD HAVE FROZEN OR CAUGHT ON FIRE.
VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR FOR CAR WITH LOW MILEAGE. THIS FAILURE WAS DUE TO MANUFACTURER DEFECTIVE PARTS. NO SAFETY DEFECT LISTED. *AK

WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE WAITING FOR OTHER VEHICLES TO PASS, IT JUST DIED. VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE IN ANY GEAR. TOTAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE. *AK
TO DATE THERE HAVE BEEN 7 OR MORE RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE; THIS CAR CAUGHT FIRE TWICE ( FUEL PUMP PROBLEM, CAUSED FIRE AND SUBSEQUENT MELTING OF THE WIRING HARNESS...!!) THIS TIME THERE SEEMS TO BE A COOLING FLIUD CONTAMINATION; CAR IS AT MECHANIC'S, I'M WAITING FOR THE OFFICIAL DIAGNOSIS.
FRONT SWAY BAR IS SWINGING BACK AND FORTH UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. *AK
CATASTROPHIC HEADGASKET FAILURE. *ET
AT 55 MPH, HEATER STARTED TO BLOW ONLY COLD AIR, TEMPERATURE GAUGE SHOT UP TO RED (OVERHEAT) ZONE. CAR WAS STOPPED AND ALLOWED TO COOL DOWN, THEN PROCEEDED TO LIMP 10 MILES HOME AT SLOW SPEED. VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO FORD DEALER. DEALER DETERMINED THE HEADGASKET(S) HAS FAILED CAUSING PROBLEM. NOT SURE IF BEARING DAMAGED OCCURRED. NO VISIBLE WATER / MILKY OIL PRESENT. LOTS OF STEAM FROM EXHAUST. DEALER ALSO NOTED TIMING COVER LEAKING. I ASKED DEALER TO CONTACT FORD ABOUT COST ASSISTANCE SINCE THIS FAILURE NEARLY UNEXPECTEDLY LEFT MY WIFE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN A VERY RURAL AREA AND THE FACT THAT THIS TYPE OF ENGINE FAILURE IS NOT NORMAL AT ONLY 60,000 MILES. PER DEALER, FORD REFUSED TO ASSIST ME DUE TO MILEAGE / AGE. I WAS CHARGED $1343.48 FOR THIS REPAIR. I HAVE SINCE LEANED THAT THIS FAILURE MODE IS COMMON FOR THIS ENGINE AT AROUND 65,000 MILES. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO WARRANTY THIS DEFECT. FORD PREVIOUS TSB'S COVERING THIS PROBLEM WERE NOT BROAD ENOUGH TO EFFECTIVELY ADDRESS ALL THE MODEL YEARS / MILEAGES INVOLVED. I DO NOT FEEL MY VEHICLE BEING DISABLED DUE TO A HEADGASKET FAILURE AT 60,000 MILES SHOULD BE CONSIDERED NORMAL BY THE MANUFACTURER. *AK
MOTOR MOUNT FAILURE CAUSED A CRACKED RADIATOR. REPLACED RADIATOR, MOTOR MOUNTS. ENGINE RAN HOT: 2 FAN SWITCH REPLACED TWICE; A MONTH LATER, THEN HEAD GASKET BLEW. SINGLE MOM, 2 JOBS, NEED CAR! WANT FORD TO RECALL. *AK
MY 1993 FORD TAURUS STARTED ROUGH. AFTER DRIVING 1/2 MILE, I NOTICED WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. A MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE PROBLEM WAS A BLOWN HEAD GASKETS WHICH NEEDED REPLACING. MY 1993 FORD TAURUS HAS A 3.8 LITER ENGINE. THIS BLOWN HEAD GASKET IS THE RESULT OF A DESIGN PROBLEM -- THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD HAVE A RECALL. AS I PREVIEWED THE COMPLAINTS DATABASE MAINTAINED BY THE NHTSA, I SAW MANY, MANY, MANY OTHER REPORTS FILED BY PEOPLE THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT I AM -- ALL WITH THE 3.8 LITER ENGINE. MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS ARE WITHIN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. THE REPAIR OF A BLOW HEAD GASKET IS VERY, VERY EXPENSIVE AND THE WHITE CLOUD GENERATED BY THE CAR WAS SO BAD THAT THE CARS BEHIND ME ON THE ROAD COULD NOT SEE VERY WELL. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. YOUR ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. *AK

CONSUMER NOTICED ENGINE STALLING AND RUNNING ROUGH. COULD NOT KEEP NORMAL SPEED. DEALER INDICATED BLOWN HEAD GASKET. ENGINE WAS REPLACED AT OWNER'S EXPENSE, EVEN THOUGH THE 94 MODEL WITH THE SAME ENGINE HAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. OWNER WANTS FORD TO REIMBURSE FOR REPAIRS. *ML

AT THE TIME FORD STATED THERE WOULD BE NO FINANCIAL HELP FROM FORD...SO WE OPTED TO TRADE IT IN AND BUY A NEW CAR. HAD WE KNOWN THAT THE FOLLOWING MONTH FORD WOULD BE CONSIDERING CHANGING THEIR POLICY PERHAPS WE WOULD HAVE MADE A DIFFERENT DECISION AND HAD THE CAR REPAIRED! *AK
WHILE DRIVING WITH CHILDREN ON FREEWAY ENGINE SHUT OFF, AND CONSUMER LOST POWER STEERING, AND COULDN'T STEER CAR. TOOK TO MECHANIC. MECHANIC INDICATED THAT A BAD HEAD GASKET ALLOWED WATER TO GET INTO ENGINE AND INTO OIL, CAUSING ENGINE TO SHUTDOWN, AND RUINED THE ENGINE, FORD WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT WAS NOT ADDRESSING THE ISSUE PROPERLY.*AK
HEAD GASKET BLEW, CONSUMER WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THEREFOR FEELS THAT SHE IS ENTITLED TO REIMBURSEMENT. NLM
CONSUMER HAS HAD THREE SETS OF MOTOR MOUNTS REPLACED. *AK
NOBODY FROM FORD WILL HELP ME ON THIS PROBLEM THAT NOW I KNOW MOST 3.8 ENGINES HAVE!!!!!!!! NO SAFETY DEFECT LISTED WITHIN SUMMARY. *AK
WITH NO WARNING THE HEAD GASKETS FAILED INCLUDING A CRACKED HEAD AND RADIATOR. FORD OF COURSE NOT COMPENSATING FOR THIS LOSS, WE OPTED TO PURCHASE A NEW CAR. THE REPAIR ESTIMATE WAS AT LEAST $4200.
3.8 LITER V6 CAR HEAD GASKET FAILED. COOLANT RUINED ENGINE. I HAVE JUST DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 3.8 LITER FORD TAURUS BUT THEY ARE FAILING TO ADDRESS IT WITH THE 1993 FORD TAURUS. WE SUFFERED A SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL LOSS DUE TO THIS DEFECT. *AK

EA99023, WINDSHIELD WIPERS; WHILE DRIVING WINDSHIELD WIPERS QUIT WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF OPERATION. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CONTINUE TO WORK. *AK *ML
THE HEAD GASKET FAILED AT 65000 MILES JUST LIKE IT'S DOING ON THE 1994 AND 1995 MODELS BEING COVERED. THIS CAR HAS THE SAME 3.8L ENGINE. SO, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY FORD WON'T COVER IT LIKE THEY ARE THE 1994 AND 1995 MODEL YEARS. THIS WAS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND WE WANT SOME SATISFACTION FROM FORD. VEHICLE OVERHEATED AND BLEW THE HEADGASKET WHILE ON MY WAY TO THE GARAGE TO SEE WHY HEATER WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY . ON MY WAY BACK TO GEORGIA.THEY HAD CHECKED TO SEE IF FAN WAS WORKING AND SAID THEY SAW NO PROBLEM.NOT LONG AFTER RETURNING TO HINESVILLE ,GA I TOOK VEHICLE INTO HINESVILLE FORD AGAIN ABOUT THE COOLING SYSTEM. THEY CHARGED ME 68 DOLLARS AND DID A RECALL ISSUED FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM WHICH I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF SENT ME ON MY WAY AND SAID I SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY MORE PROBLEMS.I T COST ME $1040.79 TO HAVE REPAIRS COMPLETED ON CAR PLUS THE INCONVIENCE OF HAVING TO GET A CAR TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK .I FEEL THAT HAD THE PROBLEM BEEN INVESTIGATED EARLIER KNOWING THERE WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH HEADGASKETS I WOULD NOT BE OUT OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS AND THEREFORE I AM ENTITLED TO A FULL REFUND AS I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROBLEM BUT THEY WERE AWARE OF ONE. *AK
WIPER MOTOR SLOWS DOWN AND STOPS WHEN WIPERS ARE ON HIGH SPEED. NEW WIPER MOTOR INSTALLED, SAME PROBLEM RESULTED WITH NEW MOTOR. REAR PASSENGER WINDOW DOES NOT GO DOWN WITH EITHER DRIVER POWER BUTTON OR REAR PASSENGER POWER BUTTON. AIR CONDITIONER FAILED AND CEASED WORKING ENTIRELY.
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
CONSUMER HAS BEEN REFILLING THE ENGINE WITH COOLANT FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. FINALLY, TOOK VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP, AND WAS TOLD THERE THAT FORD WOULD REPLACE ENGINE. CONSUMER CALLED MANUFACTURER, BUT WAS TOLD THAT VIN# DIDN'T MATCH THE RECALL 97V019000 CONCERNING ENGINE COOLING FAN. *AK
CONSUMER HAD PROBLEM WITH STARTING VEHICLE AND OVERHEATING. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, AND THEY TOLD HER THAT SHE NEEDED A NEW HEAD GASKET. FORD HAS RECALLS ON 94 AND 95 MODLES FOR THIS PROBLEM, OWNER THINKS 93 MODELS SHOULD BE INCLUDED. ALSO, OWNER NOTES THAT THE MIDDLE OF THE BACK SEAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE SAFEST PLACE FOR A CSS, YET THEY CANNOT BE PROPERLY SECURED IN THIS PLACE IN MOST SMALL CARS. *AK *ML
WHEN VEHICLE IS STARTED OR MOVED FROM DRIVE OR REVERSE IT MAKES A VERY LOUD NOISE ALSO, STEERING ALIGNMENT GOES OUT ALOT. NO OTHER SIGNS OF PROBLEM. NO ACCIDENT OR INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 70 MPH STEPPED ON BRAKE PEDAL AND TRIED TO START VEHICLE, BUT IT DID NOT START. THEN, TRIED AGAIN AND VEHICLE STARTED. ONCE AGAIN ON ROAD AT A RED LIGHT ENGINE DIED. CONSUMER LET VEHICLE COOL DOWN AND STARTED IT AGAIN. IT LOOKED LIKE WHEN VEHICLE HEATED UP ENGINE WILL DIE. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED TWICE. *AK

1. BLOWN CYLINDER HEAD GASKET...TOLD BY TECHNICIAN AT BANNER FORD THAT THIS IS INDEED COMMON, AND I SHOULD SEEK REPARATIONS FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY. I WILL CALL THEM ABOUT IT TOMORROW! 2. ENGINE MOUNTS FAILED A SECOND TIME...FIRST TIME WAS REPLACED THROUGH RECALL PROGRAM. I WILL CALL FMC ABOUT THIS, TOO. 3. LOUD SQUEAK NOISE FROM ENGINE AREA TURNED OUT TO BE A FAILED PULLEY TENSIONER, REPLACED IT...THIS COMMON AND NEEDLESSLY EXPENSIVE COMPONENT FAILURE IS DOCUMENTED BY FMC IN THEIR SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER 94-1-4. *AK
HEAD GASKET BLEW AT 65K. AS I LATER FOUND OUT, THIS IS THE SECOND HEAD GASKET ON THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST HEAD GASKET BLEW AT 39K. TIMING COVER NEEDED TO REPLACED AS WELL. *AK
HEAD GASKET BLEW AFTER ABOUT 1 MONTH OF CAR STARTING TO RUN HOT, BUT NOT OVER REDLINE
CAR SUDDENLY SLOWED, AND IMMEDIATE LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. EXHAUST STARTED OMITTING WHITE "SMOKE". I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD WITH NO INCIDENT. COOLANT AND FLUIDS LEAKED INTO THE MAIN ENGINE COMPARTMENT I FOUND OUT LATER, RESULTING FROM BLOWN HEAD GASKETS. MY CAR WAS IN THE GARAGE AT THIS SAME DEALER SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE GASKETS BLEW. FORD WAS AWARE OF DEFECTIVE GASKETS INTHIS ENGINE AND AT NO TIME DID THIS FORD CERTIFIED DEALER ADVISE ME TO HAVE THE GASKETS REPLACED. THEY OWED THE PUBLIC A RESPONSIBILITY TO WARN THEM OF THE POTENTIAL FAILURE. IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND IN HOT WEATHER IT COULD HAVE FROZEN OR LOCKED UP THE ENGINE. I DROVE THE CAR AFTERWARDS TRYING TO DETERMINE WHAT THE ENGINE FAILURES WAS AND COULD NOT GET IT IN UNTIL AFTER CHRISTMAS. I DO NOT NOT WHAT RESIDIDUAL DAMAGE THERE HAS BEEN TO THE ENGINE SINCE THE PATIENT WAS SEWN BACK UP IN THIS CASE. UNDOUBTEDLY, THE ENGINE LIFE HAS BEEN SHORTNED AS A RESULT OF DRIVING THE CAR WITH COLLANT AND FOREIGN FLUIDS IN THE ENGINE. I ALSO OWNED A 1990 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL WITH THE SAME ENGINE. IT FROZE. I WAS TOLD BY FORD IT WOULD COST ME $3800 TO PUT A NEW ENGINE IN IT.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 30-40 MPH HAD A DIRECT FRONTAL IMPACT, AND DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, WHICH DID NOT PROTECT THE OCCUPANT WHO SUSTAINED INJURIES BECAUSE OF THE CRASH. MANUFACTURER NOR INSURANCE COMPANY HAVE INSPECTED VEHICLE. NO PRIOR PROBLEMS WITH AIRBAG SYSTEM. *AK VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL ENGINE RELATED PROBLEMS, THE TIMING COVER GASKET WAS REPLACED AND THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED, AFTER THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED THERE WERE STILL CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE, THE HEATER HOSE WAS REPLACED, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO STALL, AND THE TENSIONER PULLEY AND BELT WERE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE TURBINE SHAFT SPEED SENSOR WAS REPLACED. *SLC
I KNOW THAT A RECALL (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID # 98V009000) HAS BEEN DONE ON 1993 FORD TAURUS.... I LOOKED THIS UP AFTER I BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY HEADLIGHTS GOING OFF AND ON WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT MY TAURUS WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM AND WOULD NOT BE COVERED. I HAVE CONTACTED THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY REGUARDING THIS MATTER AND AM VERY DISSATISFIED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO MY VEHICLE AS WELL AS THE OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW APPROX. 506000 VEHICLES WERE FOUND TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM BUT YET WHEN MY TAURUS ALSO IS AFFECTED (SAME YEAR OF THE RECALL/SAME MODEL) IT IS NOT COVERED. I WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU COULD LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. *AK
