I HAD HEADGASKET FIXED AT 87500 MI. WHICH WAS IN 12/98. NOW I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, AND NO WAY TO GET IT FIXED. *AK
HEADLIGHTS WENT ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. CONSUMER TOOK HEADLIGHT SWITCH A PART, AND DICOVERED THAT WIRES INSIDE OF BRACKET WERE MELTED . ALSO, MOTOR MOUNTS WERE DEFECTIVE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 5 MPH A POPPING NOISE WAS COMING FROM BOTTOM OF VEHICLE A TECHNICIAN HAD FOUND OUT THAT FRAME WAS COMING APART AND HAD TO BE WELDED AGAIN.*AK
VEHICLE HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING COOLING SYSTEM PROBLEMS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS BEFORE IT WAS FINALLY DIAGNOSED WITH A HEAD GASKET PROBLEM. THE FIRST FORD DEALER I BROUGHT IT TO REFUSED TO ADMIT A HEAD GASKET PROBLEM AND INSTEAD WANTED TO REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT GASKET. AFTER REPLACING THAT GASKET THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE OVERHEATING PROBLEMS AND IT WAS FINALLY BROUGHT TO ANOTHER FORD DEALER WHERE THE HEAD GASKET WAS REPLACED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON 10/13/00, I NOTICED A GREAT DEAL OF SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST OF MY CAR. I MADE IT TO WORK ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE HEAD GASKETS HAD BLOWN. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND REPAIRED AT A COST OF $1,468.00. I NOW FIND OUT THAT FORD HAS BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE ON A REGULAR BASIS,ALSO THAT THERE WAS A NOTIFICATION TO THIS EFFECT ,WHICH WAS NEVER SENT TO ME. I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT HOW TO GET REIMBURSED FOR MY BILL DUE TO THIS MATTER.
ENGINE HEAD GASKET FAILED. THE ENGINE LOST ALL COOLANT. WE WERE ABLE TO SHUT ENGINE DOWN WITHOUT OVERHEATING THE ENGINE. CHECKED ENGINE OIL FOR POSSIBLE COOLANT CONTAMINATION.. FOUND NO SIGN OF OIL/COOLANT MIX. DEALER SAYS THAT ESTIMATE OF REPAIRS TO BE AROUND $1200.00 TO $1600.00 IF THEY FIND NOTHING ELSE WRONG. THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE 3.8 HEAD GASKET DESIGN. I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH ONLY 20,000 MILES AND HAVE SERVICED IT PERFECTLY. I HAVE CHANGED OIL EVERY 3000 MILES, FLUSHED COOLANT EVERY 30,000 MILES, ETC. ETC. THIS CAR HAS 91,000 MILES ON IT . IT HAS NEVER BEEN DRIVEN HARD OR USED FOR TOWING. I AM A SERVICE MANAGER FOR A COMPANY THAT USES FORD TRUCKS AND VANS FOR SERVICE WORK. WE HAVE THE 351 CI AND 460 CI PUSH ROD ENGINES AS WELL AS THE 5.4L AND 6.8L OVERHEAD CAM TRITON ENGINES AND HAVE WELL OVER 140,000 MILES ON MANY OF THEM AND HAVE NEVER HAD A HEAD GASKET PROBLEM. WHAT'S THE DEAL??
THE CONSUMER REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION DUE TO A FAULTY INPUT PISTON, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON FAILURE IN THE TRANSMISSION DESIGN AND REPLACED THE ALUMINUM PISTON WHICH WAS TOO WEAK WITH A STEEL PISTON, CONSUMER IS REQUESTING A RECALL BE ISSUED DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE PISTON. *MJS
TRANSMISSION FAILED, POSSIBLY DUE TO CRACKED PISTON THAT CONTROLS GEARS. *AK FWD CLUTCH PISTON INSIDE THE FWD CLUTCH DRUM HAD CRACKED. THE PROBLEM IS WIDE SPREAD WITH THESE KINDS OF VEHICLES. *YH
VEHICLE STALLS WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.*AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL BECAME STUCK IN ONE POSITION AND FAILED TO MOVE FROM THAT POSITION EVERY TIME WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH WAS TURNED ON. DEALERSHIP HAS YET TO EXAMINE VEHICLE FOR THIS DEFECT. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS.*AK
IN REGARD TO THE CALIFORNIA JUDGES RECALL ORDER REGARDING THE ENGINE STALL OF THESE VEHICLE I'M A WALKING TESTAMENT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE MODULES, I WAS ON THE FREEWAY IN STOP AND GO RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC WHEN WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE CAR JUST STOPPED. MY FAMILY COULD OF BEEN KILLED. I BELIEVE FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM , I ALSO BELIEVE IT IS PROBABLY A SIMPLE FIX TO THE SOLUTION, BUT THAT FORD WILL NOT OWN UP TO IT AND SO THAT MEANS L WILL END UP PAYING TOP DOLLAR TO HAVE THE MODULE REPLACED,TO INSURE MY FAMILY'S SAFETY, BUT IREPLACING THE MODULE IS NOT THE ANSWER. THE MODULE SHOULD BE MOVED AND REMOUNTED TO A SAFER AND COOLER PLACE IN THE ENGINE. A QUICK $4.00 FIX . FORD SHOULD OFFER TO DO THIS , BUT INSTEAD THEY WILL WAIT TILL THERE HAVE BEEN MANY ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES. BEFORE ADMITTING FAULT.
BELIEVE THAT MANUFACTURER'S. SUGGESTED MAINTENANCE INTERVAL IS TOO LONG AND RESULTS IN FAILURE OF COMPONENTS DUE TO PROLONGED HEAVY USE CONDITIONS AND LARGE SERVICE INTERVAL, RECOMMEND LESS THAN HALF OF CURRENT TRANSMISSION SERVICE INTERVAL TO PREVENT EARLY FAILURES.*AK
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END ACCIDENT AT 22 MPH BECAUSE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE WHILE APPLYING. ASLO, BOTH AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER/MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
HEAD GASKETS FAILURE AND TIMING CASE
HAVE HAD THE SECOND TIRE SEPARATE - WHEN DRIVING IS OUT OF ROUND AND THUMPS ALONG THE ROAD. FRIST TIRE REPLACED BEFORE FAILURE ON HIGHWAY. 2ND TIRE IS NOW SEPERATING AND THUMPS/BUMPS ALONG THE HIGHWAY.*AK (DOT NUMBER: Y79L PUB TIRESIZE: P205/65R15)
THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MY POSSESSION SINCE COMING INTO SERVICE IN JULY 1994. IT WAS A FLEET VEHICLE, OWNED BY GE FLEET AND LEASED TO HONEYWELL. IN 1998, THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED AT APPROXIMATELY 76,000 MILES. IT WAS REPLACED AT MY COMPANYS EXPENSE. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JULY 1999. IN SEPTEMBER OF THIS YEAR, WITH APPROXIMATELY 112,800 MILES (ONLY 36,800 MILES ON THE REPLACED SPEEDOMETER), IT FAILED AGAIN. FORD HAS ISSUED TWO TSBS. THE FIRST IN 1997, TSB 97-12-5 AND THE SECOND IN 1999, 99-7-9. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT SHEEHY FORD IN RICHMOND VA, (MR. RON CRENSHEW), ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE REPAIRS DICTATED UNDER FORDS TSBS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. IN FACT, FAILURES HAVE OCCURRED AT TWICE THE RATE. CLEARLY FORD IS SELLING DEFECTIVE PARTS, BOTH ORIGINAL AND REPLACEMENT. I HAVE TRIED TO WORK THIS OUT WITH THEM, ONLY TO HAVE POLICY WARRANTY SPOUTED AT ME. THEY NEED TO FIX THIS. ILL PAY THE LABOR. THE PART IS OVER $500. THIS IS ABSURD. WE NOW HAVE A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ACCURATELY DETERMINE THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE. I NEED YOUR HELP. THANK YOU. MICHAEL E. VEHICLE ALWAYS MAINTAINED. COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE INCLUDING TORQUE CONVERTER AND PLANETARY GEAR. REBUILT AND DRIVEN 4 DAYS, PLANETARY GEAR PACKAGE FAILED AGAIN! NOTIFYING FORD. UNACCEPTABLE!!*AK
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS MAINTAINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH FORD MANUAL PROVIDED WITH CAR. TRANSMISSION FAILURE EXPOSED DRIVER AND OTHER TRAFFIC TO HARM AS CAR WOULD SUDDENLY GO INTO NEUTRAL IN MOVING TRAFFIC OR NOT MOVE FORWARD FROM STOP IN TRAFFIC SITUATIONS. I HAVE LEARNED THAT FORD REPAIRED MANY OF THESE TAURUS CARS BUT THEY HAVE NOT RESPONED TO MY 2001 REQUEST TO COVER THIS TRANSMISSION REPAIR EXPENSE ($1504).. WHEN APPLYING HER GAS PEDAL VEHICLE JUMPED OUT OF PLACE. MOTOR MOUNTS WERE REPLACED ONCE, AND NOW THE PROBLEM REOCCURRED. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. WHEN PASSING OR SPEEDING AND WHEN ACCELERATING TO PASS DRIVER HAD TO PULL THE ACCELERATOR OFF THE FLOOR, AND HOLD BRAKES. *AK

VEHICLE WILL LURCH AND SURGE WHILE TRAVELING DOWN HILL AT ANY GIVEN SPEED, HAPPENS ON A RANDOM BASIS. DEALERSHIP HAS EXAMINED VEHICLE, AND DETERMINED THAT THERE IS AN AIR CONTROL VALVE THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AIR CONTROL VALVE WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, VEHICLE CONTINUED TO LURCH AND SURGE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS. *AK

I HAD SENT A COMPLAINT TODAY 10-10-00 JUST AFTER I GOT OF LINE I RECIEVED A PHONE CALL FROM BRUCE THE SERVICE MANAGER AT ASHLEY FORD IN NEW BEDFORD STATING THAT FORD WAS NOW GOING TO COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS 100%
MY TAURUS HAD A HEAD GASKET FAIL AND NOW I'M TOLD THAT BECAUSE IT'S 594 MILES OVER THE 100,000 LIMIT I'LL HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND WAS PREVIOUSLY DEALER MAINTANED AT ANOTHER DEALER SHIP ABOUT 50 MILES FROM HERE BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER.THE SERVICE MANAGER AT ASHLEY FORD IN NEW BEDFORD HAS BEEN HELPFUL BUT SAYS HIS HANDS ARE TIED AND THAT IT WAS FORD'S DECISION TO MAKE NOT HIS HE HAD CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD REP. BUT WAS SO FAR ONLY ABLE TO GET ME A 30% DISCOUNT . I'VE FELT ALL ALONG THAT FORD SHOULD REPAIR THIS AT NO COST TO ME BECAUSE THIS IS OBVIOUSLLY A PROBLEM EXCLUSIVELY TO THE 3.8 FORD ENGINE OR EVER CAR ON THE ROADS HEAD GASKETS WOULD BE FAILING . WHEN I SPOKE TO THE FORD REP AT THE 800 # (1-800-392-3673) ELAINE SHE WASN'T HELPFUL AT ALL AND SEEMED MAD AT ME FOR TRYING TO GET SOME HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM , LIKE IT WAS MY FAULT .I'VE TOLD THE MANAGER BRUCE THAT AT THIS POINT I'LD BE WILLING TO PAY 20% OF THE COST TO REPAIR JUST SO WE CAN GET OUR CAR BACK WE'RE PAYING A LOAN ON THIS CAR AND CAN'T EVEN USE IT . CAR WAS SIDESWIPED WHEN NEW AND DECLARED TOTALED, HAD SIDE PANELS REPLACED AS NEW AND CAR RETITLED. HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT SINCE THE CAR WAS RETITLED THAT THE HEAD GASKET RECALL IS VOID. PLEASE ADVISE.
PLEASE ASK FORD MOTOR CO. TO RECALL THEIR VEHICLES WITH THE DISTRIBUTOR MOUNTED IGNITION MODULE. MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED A 1994 TAURUS FROM MY MOTHER THREE YEARS AGO. AT THAT TIME THE CAR HAD 14,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. IN THE PAST THREE YEARS WE HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH OUR TAURUS STALLING WHILE WE WERE DRIVING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. WE TOOK OUR CAR TO SEVERAL MECHANICS IN THE PAST THREE YEARS TRYING TO FIND A SOLUTION TO OUR PROBLEM. NOTHING THAT WE HAD DONE EVER SEEMED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. FINALLY, THIS PAST SUMMER IN THE HOT TEXAS HEAT THE PROBLEM BECAME TOO MUCH TO BEAR. WE TOOK OUR TAURUS TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP--BRINSON FORD IN CORSICANA, TEXAS. WE THOUGHT THAT SURELY THE DEALORSHIP MECHANICS WOULD BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE OUR PROBLEM. THE DEALORSHIP TOLD US THAT THEY FELT OUR FUEL PUMP WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. THEY TOLD US THAT OUR PUMP WOULD PROBABLY NOT LAST MUCH LONGER. I QUESTIONED THEIR DIAGNOSIS SINCE WE HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM FOR 80,000 MILES. WE PAID $556 AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS WE HAVE NOTICED THAT THE PROBLEM LESSENS AS THE TEMPERATURES DROP. I AM CONVINCED THAT CALIFORNIA SUPREME COURT JUDGE MICHAEL BALLACHEY HAS HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. THIS IS A SITUATION INVOLVING "CONCEALMENT OF DANGEROUS CONDITIONS."
FORD INITIALLY REJECTED COVERAGE FOR HEAD GASKET, I RECV'D RECALL LETTER. THIS IS 3RD TRANSMISSION ON 6YR OLD VEHICLE. TRANS WOULD JERK FORWARD BEFORE COMPLETE FAILURE
WHEN VEHICLE IS DRIVEN FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME AND COMING TO A STOP VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT AND DIE. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
ALTHOUGH CAR HAS NEVER ACTUALLY OVERHEATED, IT RUNS VERY HOT. IT LOSES ALOT OF WATER (OVERFLOW WILL BE EMPTY EVERY 3 DAYS OR LESS) BUT THERE IS NO LEAK. TOOK IT IN FOR A TUNEUP AND WAS TOLD THE HEAD GASKETS WERE BLOWN. CALLED AROUND AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL ON ENGINE. CALLED DEALER. THEY KEPT IT FOR 3 DAYS AND TOLD US IT WAS NOT THE ENGINE, BUT THE WATER PUMP. THEY REFUSED TO FIX OR REPLACE ENGINE EVEN THOUGH UNDER RECALL. CALLED FORD MOTOR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. WAS TOLD "WE STAND BEHIND OUR CERTIFIED TECHS" AND THEY WILL DO NOTHING. ENGINE IS UNDER RECALL FOR ANOTHER 1,000 MILES, BUT FORD IS REFUSING TO FIX DUE TO RUSTY'S SAYING IT IS NOT THE HEAD GASKETS. HAD IT LOOKED AT AT A THIRD PLACE AND THEY SAY THE WATER PUMP IS FINE. THEY COULD NOT LOCATE THE PROBLEM, BUT CAR IS STILL LOSING FLUID AND YOU CAN WATCH THE TEMP GUAGE RISE VERY QUICKLY AS YOU ARE DRIVING. DOES A RECALL MEAN THAT THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE, OR IS IT ONLY IF I HAVE PROBLEMS? I WAS TOLD BY RUSTY'S THAT IF SOMEONE ELSE SAYS THE HEAD GASKETS ARE BLOWN, THEY WILL HAVE TO PROVE IT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT TEARING THE ENGINE APART. HELP!!!
FORD MOTOR COMPANY, WAS CONTACTED AND HAS CHOSE DO GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND. NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT TO HELP ME OUT OF MY DILEMMA AT THIS TIME. NO SAFETY DEFECT MENTIONED IN SUMMARY. *AK

WHILE DRIVING AIR CONDITIONINGJUST QUIT WORKING WITHOUT WARNING. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THEY SAID THAT FLUID WAS LOW. DEALER FILLED VEHICLE UP AND STARTED WORKING AGAIN. THEN IT QUIT. CONSUMER STATED IT WAS THE O-RINGS THAT FAILED. *AK
WHY ONLY THAT LEFT ON BRAKES AFTER ONLY 38950 MILES? THIS NOT NORMAL
IT'S NOT GEARED TO ANY MANUFACTURE BECAUSE ALL THE VEHICLES I HAVE DRIVEN WORK THE SAME WAY. THIS PERTAINING TO CRUISE CONTROL. THEIR IS ONLY TWO WAYS TO SHUT IT OFF. THE ONE WAY YOU SHUT IT OFF IS TO HIT THE BRAKES LIKE IF YOU HAVE STOP FAST TO AVOID A ACCIDENT. BUT THE PROBLEM IS IF THE BRAKE LIGHT FUSE IS BLOWN IT WILL NOT SHUT OFF THE CRUISE AND YOU ARE FIGHTING THE BRAKE WITH THE ENGINE REVVING AT A HIGHER RATE LIKE HIGHWAY SPEED. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN BRING IT OFF CRUISE IS MANUALLY SHUT IT OFF THROUGH THE ON AND OFF SWITCH. NOW AT AVOIDING A ACCIDENT THE FIRST THING YOU DO HIT THE BRAKE I DON'T I THINK MOST PEOPLE WOULD SHUT IT OFF MANUALLY AT THE TIME OF A ACCIDENT WHEN THEIR UNDER PRESSURE OF A ACCIDENT AND HAVE TIME TO THE BURN OUT FUSE CAN HAPPEN FROM A SHORT THAT HAPPENS WITHIN THE VEHICLE ELECTRIC OR A SHORT IN A THE TOWING OBJECT. THIS HAPPENED YEARS AGO WITH ME BUT WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS WITH THROTTLE THAT HAS HAPPEN RECENT MADE ME THINK ABOUT WHAT HAPPEN TO ME. AND AGAIN THIS IS NOT GEARED TO ANY CERTAIN MANUFACTURE I HAVE HAD FORD TO GM. *TR
THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED OVERHEATING SYMPTOMS. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND FOUND OUT THAT THE TIMING CASE GASKET WAS LEAKING AND IT MIGHT DAMAGE THE ENGINE, WHICH ALREADY HAD DEVLOPED KNOCKING NOISES. I CONTACTED THE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ASKED THEM FOR WARRANTY COVERAGE, SINCE IT WAS OUT OF MY REACH TO REPAIR/INSTALL A NEW ENGINE. FORD COMPANY WHICH THEN WAS SENDING LETTERS FOR FREE CHANGE OF HEAD GASKETS WHICH COULD PRODUCE THE SAME PROBLEMS AS MINE. BUT MY REQUEST WENT IN A VAIN. NOW THE VEHICLE HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED OPERATION SINCE THE WATER HAS MIXED WITH THE ENGINE OIL. THIS SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND HENCE I APPEAL THAT NHTSA SHOULD RESPOND TO THIS IN A BETTER MANNER. THANKING YOU.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH HOOD DEFECTIVE DOUBLE LATCH BECAME UNHOOKED, CAUSING HOOD TO FLY OPEN, ALMOST CAUSING A CRASH, AND RESULTING IN $5,000 DAMAGE. CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK AS THE RESULT OF THE ACCIDENT, THE WINDSHIELD WAS TOTALLY SHATTERED. *YH

ON 7/24/00 I TOOK MY CAR TO TULSA AUTO COLLECTION QUALITY CARE FACILITY AT 11122 EAST 71ST STREET TULSA, OK. (918-250-3555) TO HAVE MY A/C SYSTEM REPAIRED, AS IT WAS WORKING JUST FINE THE DAY BEFORE. TOM, THE MECHANIC WHO INSPECTED MY CAR, STATED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS HAD FAILED, WHICH RESULTED IN ENGINE VIBRATION. THE VIBRATION WAS HARD ENOUGH TO CAUSE A RUPTURE IN A A/C LINE, WHICH IN TURN CAUSED A COMPLETE A/C SYSTEM FAILURE. A MAJOR LEAK WAS FOUND AT THE HIGH PRESSURE LINE TO CONDENSOR. WILL REQUIRE MANIFOLD HOSE REPLACEMENT. WILL ALSO NEED NEW FILTER DRYER HOSE ASSEMBLY, SINCE SYSTEM HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO AIR. REPLACE ESTIMATED REPAIRS $625. ALSO MOTOR MOUNTS ARE BAD AND MUST BE REPLACED BEFORE ANY A/C WORK IS PERFORMED. ESTIMATED MOTOR MOUNT REPLACE $450-$600. NOW, SINCE IT IS GETTING COLD, I HAVE FOUND THAT MY HEATER IS NOT WORKING. POSSIBLY AS A RESULT OF THE RUPTURE IN THE A/C LINES. I AM ASKING THAT FORD KINDLY REPAIR MY CAR BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN AT NTHSA'S WEB SITE MANY COMPLAINTS THAT PEOPLE HAVE MADE ABOUT PROBLEM MOTOR MOUNTS OVER THE SPAN OF SEVERAL YEARS. THE STALLING OF MY FORD HAD ENDANGERED MY FAMILY ON A JUNE VACATION TRIP TO SAN DIEGO. THE ENGINE STALLED ENTIRELY WITHOUT WARNING. I WAS SUCCESSFUL IN DRIVING THE CAR ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, WHERE WE WERE TO BECOME THE VICTIMS OF THE SUMMER HEAT. REPEATED EFFORTS TO GET THE CAR GOING WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. WE WERE TOWED TO GILA BEND, AZ WHERE A MECHANIC LOOKED AT THE CAR THE NEXT MORNING. THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED AT THAT TIME. AT THAT TIME I WAS NOT EVEN AWARE OF A DESIGN PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. UNTIL THIS DEFECT IS ADDRESSED, THIS VEHICLE IS A DANGER TO MY FAMILY AND THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME.
