WHILE REAR TRUNK LID WAS UP IT BECAME INOPERATIVE/ FALLING DOWN AND STRIKING OWNER. POSSIBLE CAUSE DEFECTIVE TORSION BAR, MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. *AK
WHEN ACCELERATING VEHICLE MAKES A LOUD NOISE, AND WHEN STOPPING THE ENGINE MAKES A LOUD GRINDING NOISE. ALSO, WHEN DOING 45 TO 50MPH THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES. DEALER HAS NOT SEEN. *AK

THE HEADLIGHTS DON'T GIVE ENOUGH VISIBILITY ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES OF THE VEHICLE. DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING. *AK CONSUMER STATES THAT THERE IS AN OBJECT IN THE CORNER OF THE LENSES THAT KEEPS THE LIGHT FROM SPREADING OUT. *SLC
THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES AND SHIMMIES WHEN DRIVING AT 60 TO 70MPH. DEALER SYAS THEY ARE AWARE OF PROBLEM AND ARE WORKING TO FIX IT. *AK
DESIGN OF VEHICLES WERE CALIBRATED WITH INCREASED DASH-POT FUNCTION CAUSING IN THE VEHICLE NOT DECELERATING WHEN TAKING THE FOOT OFF THE PEDAL.
ERRATIC OPERATION OF CRUISE CONTROL ALLOWS THE VEHICLE TH ACCELERATE 10-15 MILE OVER THE SETTING WHILE THE OVERDRIVE IS ON. WHEN OVERDRIVE IS TURNED OFF CRUISE CONTROL MAINTAINS SETTING.
TRUNK LIGHT BURNED GARMENT IN THE TRUNK, LAMP DID NOT HAVE A COVER DUE TO THE DESIGN.

WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH THE FRONT WHEELS LOCKED UP,CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO A INTERMITTENT SKID. IN ADDITION, DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES WHICH DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT NOT VISIBLE WHEN WHEEL IS TILTED AS (DESIGNED), THE RESULT CAR WAS DRIVEN SEVERAL MILES WITH EMERGENCY BRAKES ENGAGED. YH
SAFETY SEAT DOES NOT STAY FASTENED. MJS
THE AUTO DOSN'T SLOW DOWN CORRECTLY. ON LEVEL HIGHWAY IT ONLY SLOWS TO 45MPH WITHOUT APPLYING THE BRAKES. MY 1992 FORD TAURUS DID NOT ACT THIS WAY. THE DEALER AND FORD CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER SAY THIS IS NORMAL, BUT THE LOANER CAR ALSO A 1998 TAURUS DID NOT ACT THIS WAY. THIS PROBLEM IS A SAFETY HAZARD, WASTES GASOLINE, AND CAUSED THE BREAKS TO WEAR OUT FASTER. I WOULD BE WILLING TO DEMONSTRATE THE CAR TO YOUR DEPARTMENT IF YOU HAVE A LOCATION IN WICHITA, KS. THE TRUNK HAS A SPOILER ON IT AND IT DOES NOT STAY UP WHEN LIFTED. THE TRUNK HAD FALLEN ON THE OWNER NUMEROUS TIMES. DEALER SAU\YS THAT IT IS NORMAL AND CANNOT BE FIXED. *AK
WE CONNECTED THE IMMERSIONBLOCK HEATER AT 9:00, MAR 2. AT ABOUT 8:30. MAR 3, WWE DISCOVERED OUR CAR HAD CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED, THE FRONT END BEING DEMOLISHED: THE ENGINE BURNED TH ROUGH, MUCH OF THE FRONT END BEING MELTED. ROEN FORD PERSONNEL STATE THE CUASE TO BE "UNIDENTIFIED" BUT SUGGEST THE CAUSE MIGHT BE A SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, PERHAPS THE BLOCK HEATER.

WHILE TRAVELING AT 50 MPH, VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN COLLISION IN WHICH THE VEHICLE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE, NEITHER THE PASSENGER SIDE / DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. *YC
VEHICLE DOES NOT DECELERATE NORMALLY WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS RELEASED DUE TO A COMPUTER CONTROLLED DESIGN FEATURE OF THE ENGINE. THE DESIGN FLAW RESULTS IN DECELERATION, AND EXCESIVE ACCELERATION IF GOING DOWN HILL. ALSO CAUSES CRUISE CONTROL TO OVERSHOOT THE SET SPEED BY 20-40 MPH
WHEN COMING TO A STOP VEHICLE WILL LURCH/JUMP FORWARD INTERMITTENTLY, CAUSING SAFETY HAZARD.DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE CAUSE. *AK
POWER STEERING UNIT EXPERIENCES NOISE, REPLACEMENT OF HOSE AND UNIT DID NOT RECTIFY NOISE PROBLEM. *MJS
BRAKE PEDAL AT REST IS ABOUT 1/2 INCH ABOVE THE GAS PEDAL. IF DRIVER PUTS HIS PUT TO THE RIGHT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE TOE OF THE SHOE WILL ALSO CONTACT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AS THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. *AK
CONSUMER WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, APPLIED BRAKES, AND CAR STARTED TO RACE AND RAN INTO A BRICK WALL. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED. ALSO, TWO MONTHS AGO, SUDDEN ACCELERATION OCCURRED AGAIN. *AK *ML
BRAKE PADS DO NOT HAVE A WARNING NOISE DUE TO A CHANGE IN DESIGN, CAUSING OWNER TO BE UNAWARE OF FAULTY BRAKES. DEALER SAYS IT'S NORMAL. *AK
WHEN PUTTING KEY INTO THE IGNITION VEHICLE DID NOT START. HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER HAS SEEN SEVERAL VEHICLES FOR SAME PROBLEM , AND CANNOT FIND SOLUTION. *AK *ML
CONSUMER HAS BEEN HEARING POPPING NOISE IN THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICE, MANY PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. NLM

CATALITIC CONVERTER PIPE BRACKET CRACKED AND SOUNDED LIKE A MANIFOLD LEAK. COST TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT IS ABOUT $600.00 DOLLARS. THIS DOS NOT SEEM TO BE A STANDARD AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THIS TO HAPPEN ON THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. *AK
WOULD TOUCH BRAKE PEDAL LIGHTLY TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP, AND VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY ACCELERATE FOR NO REASON. ACCELERATION PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AT LEAST 3 TIMES & PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. *AK
