I WAS DRIVING AT A SPEED OF MAYBE 45 MILES AN HOUR AND I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS WHEN APPROACHING A RED LIGHT. MY CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE REALLY FAST. I TAPPED THE GAS HARD AND IT STOPPED. SINCE THEN IT DOES IT ALL THE TIME. NOW THE CAR IS HESITANT AND JERKING. THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT RECENTLY CAME ON AND WENT AWAY BUT THE ACCELERATION IS GETTING WORSE EACH DAY.

WAS DRIVING MY CAR WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN IT ACCELERATED UP TO 40+MPH WITH OUR ME EVEN TOUCHING PEDAL... I ATTEMPTED TO HIT BRAKES BUT IT KEPT GOING AND SLAMMED INTO CURB ON PASSENGER SIDE.. NO BODY DAMAGE WAS DONE BUT I DESTROYED BOTH RIMS, TIRES ARE FLAT AND WHEELS ARE BENT WHICH I'M ASSUMING IS THE ALIGNMENT AND SUSPENSION... I JUST BOUGHT/FINANCED THIS CAR FROM A USED LOT ON 10-18-2014 AND NOW OWE FOR A CAR THAT'S PRETTY MUCH TOTALED... HOWEVER I DID NOTIFY THEM THAT NIGHT (5 HRS AFTER PURCHASE) THAT THE CAR WAS REVVING HIGH AND ACCELERATING AND HARD TO STOP. I ALSO TOOK VIDEO OF THIS... BUT I HAD TO WORK ALL WEEK AND DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO GO IN AND COMPLAIN ABOUT ISSUE.. THEN ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 24TH AFTER I GOT OFF WORK AND WAS ALMOST HOME.. THE CAR SPED UP AND I COULDN'T STOP IT HAD TO HIT CURB IN ORDER TO STOP CAR FROM DRIVING ME THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AND INTO A CONCRETE WALL. AND NOW THE CAR IS PARKED IN MY COMPLEX, AND CAN'T BE DRIVEN.... I'M JUST EXTREMELY THANKFULL THAT MY WIFE AND NEWBORN WERE NOT WITH ME THIS TIME.. *TR
2005 FORD TAURUS SEDAN - REAR TRUCK WILL RELEASE WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. WE BOUGHT THE USED VEHICLE IN THE SUMMER OF 2009, ON AT LEAST SIX OCCASIONS, THE REAR TRUCK LID OPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AN INTERNAL RELEASE BUTTON, A REMOTE RELEASE BUTTON AND AN INTERNAL SAFETY RELEASE STRING. ON EACH OCCASION NEITHER BUTTON WERE ACTIVATED. NO CLICKING SOUND WAS HEARD ON EACH OCCASION. THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAD NOT RECEIVED ANY REPORTS OF THIS. RIGHT FRONT (PASSENGER) STRUT SYSTEM - ON COMPLETION OF AN ALIGNMENT OF FORD TAURUS, THE RIGHT FRONT (PASSENGER) STRUT SYSTEM WAS DEEMED BROKEN. ALL OTHER SUSPENSION SYSTEMS WERE ALIGNED WITHIN THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY REQUIREMENTS, THE RIGHT FRONT STRUT SYSTEM COULD ONLY BE ALIGNED JUST OUTSIDE OF THE MAXIMUM SAFETY REQUIREMENTS, AND NO FURTHER ADJUSTMENT CAN BE MADE WITHOUT REPLACEMENT. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 60-70MPH THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WAS NO VISIBLE ROAD DEBRIS PRESENT. UPON INSPECTION THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE CAMPER TOE ON THE AXEL WAS BENT. AFTER THE DEALER REPLACED THE AXEL BAR, THE PROBLEM RETURNED LESS THAN A WEEK LATER. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE REOCCURRENCE.
DT: THE CONTACT STATES THERE WAS A POPPING NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEN TURNING. THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND WHERE THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM. HOWEVER THE SUSPENSION WORKED ERRATICALLY. THERE WAS A TEAR WHERE THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG WAS LOCATED ,AND THE LIGHT INDICATES IT WAS OFF. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNAWARE THAT THERE WAS A TEAR UNDER THE AIRBAG AND WHY IT HAPPENED. ALSO, THEY DID NOT CHECK TO SEE IF THERE WAS AN AIRBAG IN THE VEHICLE.*AK
2005 FORD TAURUS WITH A STICKING ACCELERATOR PEDAL, OR THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGING WHEN NOT TURNED ON. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD GO FROM 45 MPH TO 70 MPH IN LESS THAN 1/4 OF A MILE WITHOUT APPLYING THE ACCELERATOR. THE RIGHT REAR STRUT, ALTERNATOR AND STARTER ALL HAD TO BE REPLACED. *JB
