AFTER FINDING INFORMATION ON INTERNET ABOUT CRACKS ON SHORTS BLOCK FOR THIS VEHICLE. THEN, TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE DEALER'S TECHNICIAN HAD FOUND A CRACK ON BLOCK BUT DUE TO LIMITED MILEAGE COULD NOT FIX THE VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE MOR INFORMATION. *AK
VEHICLE OVERHEATED. THE CYLINDER HEAD GASKET WAS REPLACED. *MR WHILE TRAVELING, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED ON THREE OCCASIONS. WHEN THE THIRD OCCASION OCCURRED, THE MECHANIC FOUND THE MAIN HEAD GASKET WAS CRACKED. *SCC *JB *CB
FIRST TRANSMISSION FAILURE 21/01/2000 AT 70,000 MILES. SECOND FAILURE 06/16/2001AT 87,000 MILES.*AK
REVERSE GEAR WILL NOT WORK AFTER THE VAN HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD MANY TIMES, ONLY TO BE TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO TO HELP SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OVER 60,000 MILES. I SEE ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, AND AM SO ANGRY THAT NOTHING IS BEING DONE EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION PART. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DO THERE NEED TO BE BEFORE FORD IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THESE REPAIRS? NOT BEING ABLE TO REVERSE THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO BE A VERY MAJOR PROBLEM TO ME, AND I FEEL AS IF FORD IS GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND.*AK
DEALER HAS LOOKED AT PROBLEM SAYS THERE IS NONE. I KNOW OF OTHER 1995 WINDSTAR OWNERS WITH SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS CAUSING A SAFTY PROBLEM BECAUSE I KNOW OF PEOPLE DISCONNECTING THE FUSE TO SHUT THE WARNING AND INTERIOR LIGHT. *AK
FORD HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY ABOUT HEAD GASKET FAILURE ENGINE, BUT MINE IS EXPIRED. I FEEL VERY VERY VERY UNFAIR AND UPSET.*AK
VEHICLE TAKEN TO FORD FOR ENGINE LIGHT ON AND RUNNING ROUGH. FORD DEALER SAID HEAD GASKET WAS BAD AND REPLACED. ALSO FOUND FRONT TIMING COVER LEAKING, AND CHARGED $901.00 TO REPAIR ON MAY 17, 2001. WHILE ON VACATION IN ALASKA, VEHICLE HAD 3000 MILES ON IT SINCE REPAIR WAS DONE AND OIL WAS CHANGED. AFTER TRAVELING A SHORT DISTANCE A NOISE WAS HEARD IN THE MOTOR. WHEN PULLED INTO THE GARAGE THE MOTOR HAD A SERIOUS NOISE, THE OIL PAN WAS DROPPED AND THE BEARINGS WERE WIPED OUT. MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO MAKE IT BACK HOME. COST $4000.00. WOULD LIKE REFUND FROM FORD FOR MONEY PAID OUT FOR THE NEW MOTOR.*AK
RE:1995 FORD WINDSTAR VIN [XXX] THIS COMPLAINT RELATES TO DAMAGE INCURRED JUST PRIOR TO AN OFFICIAL RECALL NOTICE FOR COLLAPSE OF THIS VEHICLE'S SUSPENSION SYSTEM AND FORD'S REFUSAL TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THE DAMAGE INCURRED AND REPAIRS PERFORMED. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, CALLED FORD'S CUSTOMER CARE RECALL LINE, AND WRITTEN TO FORD'S CEO WITH NO RESPONSE. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT FORD IS OBLIGATED TO PAY FOR ALL REPAIRS WHICH RESULTED FROM A SITUATION UNDER WHICH A RECALL IS DECLARED, EVEN IF THEY WERE INCURRED PRIOR TO THE RECALL ANNOUNCEMENT. ON JUNE 12, 2001 THE DRIVER FRONT END COLLAPSED AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED TO THE GROUND AND LISTED TO THE LEFT. THE CAUSE WAS THE FAILURE OF THE FRONT SUSPENSION COILS, WHICH ACTED LIKE A HOOK AND COMPLETELY TORE THROUGH AND SHREDDED THE NEW TIRE I HAD JUST PUT ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE INCIDENT. THE FORD DEALERSHIP WAS BOOKED SEVERAL DAYS OUT SO I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER FACILITY, BOCA TIRE WHO IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AND SUGGESTED THAT WE HAVE BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR SYSTEMS FIXED FOR SAFETY. ON AUGUST 24, 2001, THE STARTER FAILED AND WE WERE ADVISED IT IS LIKELY THIS WAS RELATED TO THE SUSPENSION CRASH. WE SUBSEQUENTLY HAD SUSPECTED TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. SHORTLY AFTER THE INITIAL INCIDENT WE RECEIVED A NOTICE OF AN EXTENDED COVERAGE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS OF THE 1995 WINDSTAR. I CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER AND EXPLAINED ALL OF THESE ISSUES AND PROBLEMS AND THAT IT SEEMS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS ARE NOT RELATED TO THE INITIAL FAILURE OF THE COIL SPRINGS AND THE COLLAPSE OF THE FRONT END. WE INCURRED $1,380 IN REPAIRS. WE TURNED IN MY REPAIR RECEIPTS FOR "FORD REIMBURSEMENT REVIEW" AND RECEIVED A VERY SMALL AMOUNT WHICH NO ONE AT FORD COULD EXPLAIN (DID NOT JUST RELATE TO FRONT END ONLY REPAIRS, ETC). LEAKED QUITE A BIT OF ANTIFREEZE...HAD TO REPLACE TIMING COVER GASKET. ALSO MORE RECENTLY, A FRONT TIRE BLEW DUE TO RUSTED FRONT SPRINGS AND STRUTS WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED. *AK
PREMATURE WEAR OF THE HEAD GASKETS. HEAD GASKETS BLEW OUT, CAUSING ENGINE TO LOCK UP, RESULTING IN DRIVER LOSING CONTROL OF VEHICLE, DEALER WAS REPLACING MOTOR. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD AN ENGINE KNOCK. THE DEALER EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE HEAD GASKET WAS LEAKING AND THE BEARING HAD FAILED. AFTER AN OIL PRESSURE TEST, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE OIL PRESSURE WAS LOW AND THE COOLANT WAS IN THE OIL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENGINE. THE CONSUMER LATER RECEIVED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE NOTICE FROM THE MANUFACTURE FOR POSSIBLE HEAD GASKET FAILURE WHICH COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT. *YH
WHILE THE INSURED WAS DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WHEEL CAME OFF. CLAIM# 13-7361-978 *YH
ENTIRE FRONT PANEL (WITH AC/HEATER, RADIO, AND REAR WINDOW CONTROLS) BECOMES TOO HOT TO TOUCH, ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVEN MORE THAN 60 MINUTES CONTINUOUSLY. ENGINE HAD TO BE TURNED OFF FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES. "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON. REPAIR SHOP FOUND NO EXPOSED WIRES BUT WARNED OF FIRE RISK; HAD SEEN SAME PROBLEM IN OTHER MID-90'S WINDSTARS.*AK
CRUNCHING NOISE FROM FRONT BRAKE WHEN BRAKING OR PULLING OUT, CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE ABS WAS INOPERATIVE, ALSO THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKES HAD AFTERMARKET PADS, DEALER RECOMMENDED REFACED OR REPLACED.*YD
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN GARAGE, CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE, WENT OVER TO VEHICLE AND SAW THAT FRONT RIGHT OF VEHICLE HAD DROPPED. FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE COIL SPRING BROKE. NO PRIOR PROBLEMS ON THIS ISSUE. *AK
TORQUE CONVERTER WAS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID ,AND SLIPPING BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEARS. DEALERSHIP REPLACED TRANSMISSION AT CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. CONSUMER STATED THAT THERE WERE MULTIPLE TSB'S FOR THIS PROBLEM. ENGINE WAS REPLACED A YEAR AGO UNDER A SERVICE PROGRAM BY THE DEALER/MANUFACTURER. *AK

I HAVE HAD A CONTINUING STREAM OF ENDLESS REPAIRS TO THIS FORD WINDSTAR. STARING WITH THE WATER PUMP ONE WEEK AFTER PURCHASE; THEN THE LEFT FRONT SPRING AND STRUT COLLASPED; NEXT THE ABS SYSTEM ALMOST COST ME MY LIFE BY FAILING ON A DOWNGRADE INTO AN INTERSECTION; A COMPOENT OF THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM IN THE MAIN COMPUTER FAILED; THE REAR MASTER CYLINDER ON THE BRAKES WAS LEAKING; THE TRANSMISSION HAS NEVER SHIFTED CORRECTLY ALMOST GIVING PASSENGERS WHIPLASH; THE REAR POWER DOOR LOCK ON THE TAILGATE HAS JUST NEVER WORKED FORM DAY ONE; I DID RECEIVE A RECALL FOR THE HOOD AND THAT WAS REPLACED; NOW THE POWER WINDOWS OPERATE WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, BUT THE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK AND THE VEHICLE IS TOTALLY DIABLED, IT WILL NOT START OR EVEN TRY TO TURN OVER. I AM JUST A NURSE NOT A MILLIONAIRE, I HAVE PAID ALMOST $5,000.00 IN REPAIRS INTO THIS VEHICLE IN THE 2 1/2 YEARS I HAVE OWNED IT. AND NOW IT IS DEAD, LEAVING ME WITH NO TRANSPORTATION TO WORK, MY ONLY SOURCE OF INCOME. PLEASE HELP.

THIS IS THE 2ND TRANSMISSION THAT I HAVE HAD GO BAD. THE FIRST ONE HAD TO BE COMPLETELY OVERHAULED AT 39,000 MILES AT A COST OF $1, 254.20. THE VAN NOW HAS 85,000 MILES ON IT AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED AGAIN. THIS TIME IT WILL COST $1,517.50 TO FIX IT. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT BECAUSE THERE ARE NO CURRENT PROGRAMS AVAILABLE TO COVER THIS PROBLEM, THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY THEM TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AGAIN AND "WAIT AND SEE" WHAT HAPPENS IN THE FUTURE WITH A POSSIBLE RECALL. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE IN 1996. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE HEAD GASKETS NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR THE THIRD TIME. THEY WERE REPLACED AT 53,000, 58,000 AND NOW 85,000. *AK
FRONT SUSPENSION SPRING HAD SNAPPED WHILE PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY. CONTACTED MECHANIC, AND INFORMED CONSUMER NOT TO DRIVE VEHICLE, BUT HAVE IT TOWED IN FOR REPAIRS. *AK
HAD MINOR COOLANT LEAK, TURNED OUT TO BE "FORD PROGRAM" ENGINE REPLACEMENT. JUST OVER 100 MILES LATER, TRANSMISSION FLUID ALL LEAKED OUT. DEALER CLAIMS UNRELATED TO ENGINE PROBLEM. NEVER HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEM PRIOR TO ENGINE BEING REMOVED. TRANS WAS INSPECTED AS PART OF AAA SAFETY INSPECTION WHEN VAN WAS IN FOR ENGINE REPLACEMENT. SOME SORT OF SEAL LEAK, VAN STILL IN SHOP--HAVING TRANS REBUILT. NO PROBLEM BEFORE ENGINE ISSUE, MAJOR PROBLEM 7 DAYS LATER. FORD SHOULD PAY FOR THE TRANS SINCE IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, AND IF THEY DID NOT HAVE TO RIP THE ENGINE OUT, TAKE OFF THAT TRANS AND PUT NEW ENGINE ON, I PROBABLY WOULD BE DRIVING THE WINDSTAR TODAY. WE HAVE HAD REGULAR SERVICE, SPENT OVER $90 TO HAVE TRANS CHECKED LAST YEAR SO THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD LAST US. FORD WAS E-MAILED WHEN WE GOT THE VAN BACK FROM THE ENGINE REPLACEMENT BECAUSE NOT EVERYTHING WAS WORKING PROPERLY. E-MAILED A FEW HOURS LATER WHEN THE TRANS FLUID POURED OUT AND OTHER THAN THE AUTOMATIC RESPONSE SAYING THEY REC'D MY E-MAIL, I HAVE HEARD NOT ONE WORD FROM THEM. NOT MUCH FOR CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE! THE TRANS AND ENGINE ARE RELATED, AND I DO NOT KNOW HOW FORD CAN SAY THEY ARE NOT. NO PROBLEM BEFORE THEY RECONFIGURED UNDER HOOD TO PUT DIFFERENT SHAPE/SIZE ENGINE IN, PROBLEM AFTER.
FORD REFUSES TO COMPENSATE REPAIR BEYOND 100,000 MILES. NO SAFETY DEFECT MENTIONED. *AK
ONLY 65,200 MILES AND I AM ORIGINAL OWNER, AND TOOK GREAT CARE OF MY WINDSTAR BUT THE HEAD GASKETS STILL BLEW. WHEN MY WINDSTAR WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OTHER FACTORY RECALLS, I WAS ALREADY AWARE OF THE HEAD GASKET WARNING NOTICE AND MY "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" WAS COMING ON CONSTANTLY SO I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE MY HEAD GASKETS. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED, SAYING THERE WEREN'T ENOUGH "SYMPTOMS" AND THAT IT HAD TO BREAK DOWN BEFORE THEY WOULD INSTALL THE "IMPROVED" HEAD GASKETS! *AK
THIS IS THE FOURTH HEAD GASKET FAILURE REQUIRING ENGINE REPLACEMENTS.*AK
1995 FORD WINDSTAR LX HAS HAD REPORTED SYMPTOMS OF HEAD GASKETS LEAKING SINCE 90483 MILES. CAR REPAIRED BY SEVERAL MECHANICS IN AS MANY TIMES AND NEVER TOLD ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. HEAD GASKETS LEAKED CAUSING WATER TO LEAK INTO OIL INSIDE OF ENGINE AND CAUSING A ROD TO THROW THROUGH THE BLOCK OF THE ENGINE. ENGINE IS UNUSABLE NOW DUE TO THIS DEFECT BY FORD WHEN INSTALLING HEAD GASKETS.*AK
I HAVE READ IN THE PAPER THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM IN SEVERAL HUNDRED THOUSAND FORD WINDSTAR VANS (REPORT BY NEDRA PICKLER CHICAGO SUNTIMES) I'M WONDERING WHAT YOUR DEPARTMENT IS GOING TO HAVE FORD DO ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT MY WIFE AND THREE CHILDREN WHO ALWAYS RIDE IN THIS VAN. NO SAFETY DEFECT LISTED IN SUMMARY. *AK
THE ENGINE WAS THE MAIN PROBLEM DUE TO THE HEAD GASKET RECALL. IN JULY,2000, WE ARGUED WITH FORD ABOUT A BAD ENGINE RUNNING FOR WHICH WE HAD JUST PAID OVER $300 TO EVALUATE BY AN OUTSIDE REPAIR SHOP. AFTER ABOUT 6 WEEKS WE RECEIVED OUR CAR BACK WITH A NEW LONG BLOCK PAID FOR BY FORD, INCLUDING A RENTAL VAN FOR THE TIME IN THE SHOP. IN JANUARY 2001 THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING ROUGH AGAIN AND WE WERE CHARGED $81.45 TO CHECK IT OUT AND REPLACE A WIRE BAD ON CYLINDER 6 WHICH WAS MISFIRING. THREE MONTHS LATER IN APRIL 2001 THE CAR RAN ROUGH AGAIN AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON (HAPPENED FOR YEARS INTERMITTENTLY SINCE WE OWNED THE CAR). THE NEW LONG-BLOCK HAD ANOTHER BAD HEAD GASKET REINSTALLED PER THE SECOND FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER. AFTER NEARLY ANOTHER MONTH WE HAD THE SECOND NEW LONG-BLOCK IN LESS THAN ONE YEAR. NOW LESS THAN 2 YEARS AND 40,000 MILES LATER, FOLLOWING THE 110K SERVICE OF RADIATOR FLUSH AND OIL CHANGE AT 113,098 MILES THE ENGINE RAPIDLY LOST OIL AND IS MISFIRING AND BURNING OIL. FORD'S POSITION ONCE AGAIN IS THAT THE WARRANTY WAS ONLY FOR 12 MONTHS OR 12K MILES. ON A SMALLER NOTE, THE BRAKES HAVE GONE OUT NUMEROUS TIMES AND WE HAVE REPLACED ROTORS AND PADS NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO IMPROVEMENTS. THE POWER STEERING HAS PERFORMED VERY POORLY. WE CHANGED THE FLUID IN 2000 AND THEN THE FORD SERVICE CENTER AND THEY REPLACED THE OUTER TIE RODS AND RESET THE ALIGNMENT. WITHIN MONTHS IT WAS GOING OUT AGAIN INTERMITTENTLY. MOST OFTEN WHEN STARTING OUT THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT AND YOU MUST MANUALLY STEER THE VEHICLE.

VAN WAS IN PARK; PUT VAN IN REVERSE, SOUNDED LIKE IT SHIFTED, BUT REFUSED TO MOVE. POSSIBLE CRACKED REVERSE DRUM, STATES MECHANIC. *AK
VEHICE WOULD OVERHEAT. CONSUMER TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY SAID DEALER NEEDED A NEW MOTOR.*AK
BRAKES HAVE VIBRATED AND NOISEY SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE. SERVICE CENTERS STATE NOTHING IS MECHANICALLY WRONG. 08/22/01, COMING BACK FROM FAMILY TRIP WE EXPERIENCED A BRIEF ROUGHNESS OF OPERATION AND OVERDRIVE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. 08/26/01, THE VEHICLE SPEW WHITE SMOKE FROM EXHAUST, OVERHEATED AND STALLED. EVERYONE I CALLED AND ALL LITERATURE SHOW THAT TO BE SYMTOMS OF HEAD GASKET FAILURE. THE OIL IS LIKE COFFEE WITH CREAM IN IT, INDICATING THAT BOTH GASKETS HAVE FAILED. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER STATES THE RECALL EXTENSION TO BE EXPIRED. THE ENGINE DATE IS 10/25/94 AND MILES ARE 94516 WITHIN THE EXTENSION GUIDELINES. ONE DEALERSHIP STATES 3 WEEKS BEFORE THEY COULD GET TO IT. I HAVE FOUND MANY SUMMARIES AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP ME TO HAVE FORD REPAIR THEIR MISTAKES.*AK
WHEN STARTING VHEICLE COULD SEE A WHITE SMOKE JUST LIKE MENTIONED IN RECALL ON ENGINE HEAD GASKET. *AK
DURING A NYS VEHICLE INSPECTION THE FRONT ANTI-SWAY BAR WAS FOUND TO BE BROKEN - ONE END HANGING DANGEROUSLY DOWN. THE ANTI-SWAY BAR IS MADE OF TUBING, RATHER THAN SOLID BAR STOCK. WHEN MY REPAIR SHOP CALLED A FORD DEALER TO OBTAIN A REPLACEMENT HE WAS TOLD THE DEALER KEPT STOCK ON HAND AS IT WAS COMMON FOR THEM TO BREAK.*AK
CONSUMER CONTACTED DEALER DUE TO THE FACT THAT ENGINE HAD A ROUGH IDLE. DEALER REPLACED CONSUMERS ENGINE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM . BUT, IT DID REMEDY THE PROBLEM, ONCE AGAIN ENGINE WAS REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS.*AK
EXTREMELY LOW MILEAGE FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I HAVE SPOKEN TO MANY OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *AK
VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN HOME AND PARKED IN GARAGE. STARTED NOTICING FUMES COMING INSIDE HOUSE. LATER WENT OUT TO START VEHICLE WHICH FAILED TO START. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED CONSUMER THAT HEAD GASKET FAILED. PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED TWICE UNDER WARRANTY.*AK
BOLTS USED IN THE HEADS OF ENGINE CAN SNAP, WHICH CAN ALLOW WATER TO FLOW INTO CHAMBER THAT HOLDS VEHICLE. FORD ISSUED A SERVICE CAMPAIGN REGARDING THIS DEFECT, AND HAS INFORMED CONSUMER THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THIS CAMPAIGN, HOWEVER, CONSUMER'S VEHICLE IS OVER 100,000 MILE LIMIT, AND FORD IS REFUSING TO PERFORM SERVICE AT NO CHARGE TO CONSUMER. RE: FORD EXTENDED WARRANTY ON FORD WINDSTAR 3.8L HEAD GASKETS (FORD NOTICE 00M09). MY 95 WINDSTARS HEAD GASKET BLEW AND HYDRO LOCKED MY ENGINE AT 81,000 MILES. THE PROCESS PUMPED A LOT OF COOLANT THROUGH MY BLOCK AND OUT THE EXHAUST AND CAUSED THE ENGINE TO SEVERELY OVER HEAT. SAWGRASS FORD (SUNRISE FL (954) 851-9100) HAS AGREED TO REPLACE THE HEAD GASKET UNDER THE WARRANTY BUT WANTS $1176 TO COVER THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL WORK: RESEAL LEAKING COOLANT AT TIMING COVER $784. TUNE-UP $110. THERMOSTAT AND GASKET $85. FLUSH COOLING SYSTEM $74. ENGINE POWER FLUSH $120. I HAD JUST FLUSHED AND REPLACED COOLANT AND HOSES WITHIN THE LAST 10,000 MILES. THERE WERE NO LEAKS IN THE ENGINE. (MY GARAGE FLOOR IS CLEAN!) I BELIEVE THAT HAD THE HEAD GASKET NOT BLEW, THIS OTHER WORK WOULD NOT BE NECESSARY AND SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE 00M09 EXTENDED WARRANTY WORK. THE ONLY REASON THE COOLING SYSTEM AND ENGINE WOULD NEED FLUSHED AT THIS POINT IS BECAUSE THE CYLINDERS FLOODED WITH COOLANT WHEN THE GASKET BLEW. THAT ALSO FOULED THE PLUGS. THE OVERHEATING DAMAGED THE THERMOSTAT. THE OVERHEATING IS ALSO THE LIKELY CAUSE OF DAMAGE RESULTING IN COOLANT LEAKING FROM THE TIMING COVER. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER CARE AND WAS TOLD THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY COVERS THE HEAD GASKET REPLACEMENT. THE OWNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHER REPAIRS. (EVEN IF THE BLOCK FROZE OR THE HEADS WARPED!) THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE ME A COPY OF THE 00M09 EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WILL HAVE FORD DO THE WARRANTY WORK AND TAKE THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP FOR THE ADDITIONAL REPAIR. ANY HELP TO HAVE FORD COVER THIS ADDITIONAL DAMAGE IS APPRECIATED.*AK

ABS LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY AND STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING, LIGHT COMES ON WHEN TURNING CORNERS AND A CLUNK NOISE EMITS FROM LEFT WHEEL AREA, ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM NO LONGER WORKING. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 25-30 MPH VEHICLE SHIFTED TO RIGHT , HAD VEHICLE TOWED HOME, AND DISCOVERED THAT REAR CONTROL ARM HAD BROKEN. *AK

CONSUMER WAS GOING A MAXIUM OF 10MPH AND VEHICLE WAS HIT ON LEFT SIDE, JUST IN FRONT OF REAR TIRE. NEXT DAY, CONSUMER NOTICED VEHICLE PULLING TO LEFT AND MAKING A LOUD NOISE WHEN MAKING A SHARP TURN. INSURANCE ADJUSTER STATED THAT FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE. DEALER DIDN'T BELIEVE THAT COIL SPRING WAS BROKEN FROM ACCIDENT. CONSUMER'S WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER REPAIRS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, CONSUMER SIDESWIPED A PARKED CAR, THE WHEEL THEN CAME OFF, CAUSING CONSUMER TO HIT TWO MORE VEHICLES BEFORE COMING TO A STOP, CLAIM 05-4615-981. *SLC
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH ENGINE OVERHEATING WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE BEEN TO A REPAIRS SHOP ON THREE OCCASIONS, AND VARIOUS PARTS WERE REPLACED. BUT, PROBLEM REOCCURRED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
ENGINE STARTS TO CHARGE AND WHITE SMOKE COMES OUT OF THE TAILPIPE. TOOK TO DEALER, AND IT WAS A BLOWN HEAD GASKET, AND TIMING COVER GASKET.*AK FORD DENIES ANY RESPONSIBILTY DUE TO MILEAGE. *SLC
CONSUMER WAS UNDER VEHICLE LOOKING AT ANOTHER PROBLEM AND NOTICED BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED. CONSUMER OWNED ANOTHER FORD, WINDSTAR WITH SAME PROBLEM EXCEPT BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO FLOOR. VEHICLE WASN'T EXPERIENCING ANY DIFFICULTY, BUT DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WOULD BE CONTACTED. *AK
CONSUMER WALKED TOWARD VEHICLE AND NOTICED SPRING WAS HANGING DOWN. DAY BEFORE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING IT WITH NO PROBLEM. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED US FIRST TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL. NO FURTHER STEPS HAVE BEEN MADE.*AK CONSUMER STATES THE LEFT FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE IN HALF WITH A SHARP POINT OF COIL VERY CLOSE TO TIRE, CONSUMER SUSPECTS LACK OF SUPPORT OR WEAK SPRINGS. FRONT STRUTS AND SPRINGS WERE REPLACED. *SLC
