MY ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE BEEN COMING ON WHILE DRIVING AND STAYING ON FOR MONTHS. I AM NOT SURE IF THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH FORD WINDSTARS IN GENERAL OR IF THERE IS AN ISSUE THAT CAUSES THIS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD WINDSTAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, SHE WAS ALERTED THAT BOTH REAR WHEELS WERE SLIGHTLY TURNED INWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REAR AXLE WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER:12V195000 (SUSPENSION) IN 2012. THE REMEDY REPAIR FAILED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
GOODYEAR ASSURANCE TOURING TIRES DOT LOT IDENTIFIER: MDXO JD1R 4109 SIZE: P225 60 R16 PURCHASED AT SAM'S CLUB, DECEMBER 2010. I GOT FOUR (4) OF THESE TIRES ON MY 2002 FORD WINDSTAR VAN, ON DECEMBER 23, 2010. EARLY IN 2011, FORD HAD MY VAN FOR SIX (6) MONTHS (FIXING SEVERAL FORD RECALLS WITH AXLES AND SUSPENSION) SO THE TIRES DIDN'T GET MUCH MILEAGE UNTIL LATER IN 2011. IN 2012, I HAD ONE OF THE TIRES SEPARATE INTO CHUNKS ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE, EXCEPT THE TIRE WAS HISTORY. I HAD IT REPLACED WITH ANOTHER TIRE OF THE SAME TYPE/MODEL. IN JULY OF 2013, I HAD TWO (2) MORE OF THE TIRES REPLACED BECAUSE THEY WERE "CUPPING" AND OUT OF ROUND. I HAD THE VAN CHECKED FOR CAMBER, CASTER, AND TOE-IN, AND IT WAS UP TO FACTORY SPECS. NO ALIGNMENT NECESSARY AND TIRES WERE MAINTAINED WITH CORRECT PRESSURE. TODAY, (09/05/2013) I AM HAVING THE 4TH TIRE REPLACED, BECAUSE IT IS BECOMING "OUT OF ROUND" AND "CUPPING" (I BELIEVE). THIS FAILURE CAUSES A VIBRATION THAT YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE. THE LAST TIME SAM'S CLUB REPLACED THE TIRES (JUST TWO MONTHS AGO IN JULY 2013) THE INSTALLER SAID THAT THEY "HAVE HAD A LOT OF THESE TIRES SPONTANEOUSLY DESTROY THEMSELVES", AND THEY OPTED TO PUT GOODYEAR ASSURANCE "FUEL MAX" TIRES ON, IN LIEU OF THE DISCONTINUED "TOURING" MODEL. I CHECKED GOODYEAR'S WEBSITE, AND THE "TOURING" MODEL IS IN FACT, NOT DISCONTINUED. MAYBE SAM'S CLUB JUST STOPPED GETTING THEM BECAUSE THEY'RE TIRED OF REPLACING THEM? IF SAM'S CLUB HAS NO CONFIDENCE IN THE TOURING MODEL (AND IS OPTING TO REPLACE THEM WITH THE FUEL MAX MODEL) I AM BEGINNING TO THINK THAT THE LAST TOURING MODEL TIRE (REPLACED IN 2012) MAY DESTROY ITSELF, AS WELL. *JB
MY PARENTS HAD RECALL 11S16 PERFORMED ON THEIR WINDSTAR ON MARCH 20TH 2012. A VIBRATION HAD BEEN FELT SINCE JAN OF 2013. THEY HAD NEW TIRES INSTALLED AND BALANCED. PROBLEM PERSISTED. I REMOVED BOTH FRONT RIMS AND INSPECTED SUSPENSION. PASSENGER SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM NUT MISSING FROM BOLT. GRADE 10.9 METRIC BOLT LOOSE AND PARTIALLY BACKED OUT, UNBELIEVABLY, WASHER STILL SITTING ON FRAME. INSPECTED DRIVERS SIDE OF VEHICLE AND PROBLEM BECOMES APPARENT. MULTIPLE WASHERS ARE STACKED UNDER HEAD OF BOLT AND UNDER NUT MAKING FULL THREAD ENGAGEMENT IMPOSSIBLE. MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS TO FORD AND DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP IS ADAMANT THAT INSTRUCTIONS STIPULATE "MULTIPLE SHIMS" MUST BE USED, "UP TO SIX DEPENDING". A "GAUGE" IS USED DURING THE INSTALL PROCESS. I REQUEST A COPY OF INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS BUT DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE ANY. I REQUEST THE SAME FROM CORPORATE FORD BUT THEY DON'T HAVE ANY??!!?? HOW DOES FORD PERFORM THE REPAIRS FROM "INSTRUCTIONS STIPULATING" AND USE "UP TO SIX SHIMS" AND THEN "GAUGE" IF THEY DO NOT POSSESS INSTRUCTIONS??!!?? POSSIBLE FIXES: REMOVE WASHER FROM UNDER THE HEAD OF THE BOLT BUT STILL USE THE ONE UNDER THE NUT, USE A LOWER HEIGHT NUT, USE A LONGER BOLT. ALL POSSIBLE FIXES MAKE THE REPAIR MUCH SAFER. FORD REFUSES ALL SUGGESTIONS AND PUTS MY FAMILY BACK ON THE ROAD AND AT RISK. MULTIPLE PHOTOS OF PROPERLY REPAIRED CONTROL ARM KITS ARE ON THE INTERNET AND ALL SHOW PROPER THREAD ENGAGEMENT OF THE NUT ON THE BOLT. TO KEEP MY FAMILY SAFE SHOULD I DO THE REPAIRS MYSELF OR DO I PUT MYSELF AT LEGAL RISK? *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD WINDSTAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE AS THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO BOUNCE AND ROLL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AXLE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. TWO YEARS PRIOR, THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V385000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN RECENTLY REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 161,000.

ABS WARNING LIGHT COMES ON & OFF INTERMITTENTLY. CAN NOT RE-SET IT, BUT THE BRAKES SEEM TO WORK GOOD OTHERWISE. IS THIS A PROBLEM OR HAS FORD HAD A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE? I HEAR IT IS COMMON. *TR
EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL LAST NIGHT WHEN BETWEEN 50-60 IT STARTED MAKING A CLUNKING NOISE AND WOULD SHAKE THE ENTIRE VAN. WE COULDN'T GET IT LOOKED AT ANYWHERE BECAUSE IT WAS LATE. WELL THIS MORNING I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AT 6AM AND I STARTED LOSING CONTROL AND THE VAN WAS SWERVING ALL OVER THE ROAD. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO CARS BEHIND ME, I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND GIRLS WEREN'T WITH ME. I THOUGHT I HAD LOST A TIRE BUT WHEN I GOT OUT TO LOOK THE BACK AXEL WAS COMPLETELY SPLIT IN TWO. I WAS REALLY MAD BECAUSE I JUST PAID $800 TO HAVE THE INTAKE VALVES FIXED. WHEN THE TAXI CAME TO PICK ME UP HE LOOKED IT UP AND SAID THERE WAS A RECALL. HE ALSO SAID HIS INTAKE VALVES WENT OUT ON HIS 2000 WINDSTAR AND THAT'S NOT COVERED EITHER. I CALLED MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID JUST A COUPLE WEEKS AGO A LADY CAME IN AND BROUGHT HER VAN TO HAVE THE BACK AXEL FIXED. SO NOW MY HUSBAND AND FATHER IN LAW HAD TO PAY FOR TOWING TO BRING IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND NOTHING IS OPEN TODAY OR TOMORROW AS IT'S LABOR DAY. MIND YOU I JUST BOUGHT THIS VAN IN MARCH AS THE MILEAGE WAS LOW AND THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE. I HAVE NOW REALIZED I AM FORCED TO BUY A VEHICLE WITH PAYMENTS.
VEHICLE MAKING STRANGE NOISE, TAKEN TO REPAIR SHOP. THEY SAID FRAME WAS RUSTED AND REAR END HAD A CRACK.
SLIDING SIDE DOORS AND REAR WHEEL WELLS RUSTING FROM BOTTOM UP. THERE IS A DRAMATIC AMOUNT OF RUST. WORRIED ABOUT STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF DOORS IN CASE OF A SIDE-ON COLLISION. THIS IS TRUE FOR BOTH THE WINDSTAR AND FREESTAR. *TR
WE WERE SLOWING TO PULL UP TO OUR HOME. WE WERE DRIVING ABOUT 10 MPH. ABOUT 70 FEET FROM OUR HOME. IT SOUNDED LIKE THERE WAS A FLAT TIRE WITH RUBBING AND BUMPING NOISES. WE PARKED ON THE STREET IN FRONT OF OUR HOME. UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE TIRES WERE INTACT. THE TIRES ARE BOWING IN. WE LOOKED UNDER THE REAR OF THE CAR. WE SAW A LARGE CRACK OF THE REAR AXLE CLOSER TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CAR. FORD RECALLED THE REAR AXLE FOR THIS VERY REASON 3 YEARS AGO DUE TO CORROSION CAUSED BY YEARS OF EXPOSURE TO SALTED ROADS. FORD PERFORMED THE RECALL WORK BY PLACING A BRACKET ON THE AXLE. THE BRAKE ON OUR AXLE OCCURRED UNDER THE BRACKET. FORD IS NOT ASSUMING RESPONSIBILITY EVEN THOUGH THE SUPPORTS THEY PLACED ON THE AXLE FAILED TO DO THEIR JOB. THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS THIS YEAR FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. THE BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ALL THE BROKEN AXLES THIS YEAR WERE THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLES AND TYPE ROADS THEY WERE TRAVELING ON. I BELIEVE THAT THERE MORE OUT THERE THAT HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM THAT HAVE NOT BEEN REPORTED TO THIS WEBSITE YET. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT MORE AXLES THAT HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED THE RECALL FIX ARE GOING TO FIND THEIR AXLES BREAKING IN THE NEAR FUTURE AS WELL. AS FOR NOW THE RECALL OF THESE AXLES, FORD HAS CLOSED THE CASE UNTIL FORCED TO REOPEN THE RECALL. FORD SHOULD REPLACE THE ENTIRE AXLE ON ALL THE WINDSTARS THAT WERE UNDER THE ORIGINAL RECALL. *TR
ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND EXPERIENCED A BURNING ELECTRICAL SMELL. FUSE#10 WAS POPPED AND LOST DASH FUNCTIONALITY. WENT TO FORD TODAY 8-14-13 AND HAD RECALL 09S09 WORK PERFORMED AND THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. MY WIFE AND I BELIEVE THEIR IS A SERIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE ABS ELECTRICAL CONTROL MODULE, DUE TO ISSUES RELATED TO THE RECALL 09S09. WE HOPE THAT THE VAN DOES NOT ERUPT INTO A FIRE. WE STILL CAN SMELL AN ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL. *TR
ABS LIGHT CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY AFTER 8/05/2013. HAD BRAKES CHECKED, PADS/ROTORS/DRUMS APPEARED, TESTED OK. HAD BRAKES SERVICED (FRONT PADS/ROTORS REPLACED) 2/24/2014. LIGHT FOR ABS CAME ON AGAIN 07/01/2014. LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON. TURNS OFF WHEN RESTARTING. SEEMS TO ONLY OCCUR IN SUMMER MONTHS. STOPPING DISTANCE SEEMS TO INCREASE WHEN ABS LIGHT IS ON!!! *TR
OUR ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON. WE HAD THE BRAKES REPLACED, BUT THEY ARE STILL ON. OUR MECHANIC TELLS US IT MAY BE THE ABS CONTROL MODULE, WHICH THEY WANT OVER $1,000 TO FIX. WE HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE WINDSTAR AND IT MAY BE RELATED TO A DEFECTIVE PART OTHER THAN THE ABS CONTROL MODULE. IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS ITEM? *TR
REAR AXLE BROKE IN HALF AS I WAS TURNING A CORNER AT VERY LOW SPEED, CAUSING TO LOOSE CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND RUN OFF ROAD. *TR
WHILE OPERATING THIS VAN THE ABS/BRAKE LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE ON THE DASH. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM THAT SOMETIMES COMES ON AS SOON AS THE VEHICLE IS STARTED, OTHER TIMES IT WILL COME ON AFTER DRIVING FOR A MILE OR TWO. THIS CAUSES THE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM TO STOP WORKING AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE HAD THE CODES CHECKED MANY TIMES AND CLEARED WITH NO OTHER PROBLEMS SHOWING JUST TO HAVE IT RE-OCCUR AT A LATER TIME. IT SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE. IF IT IS REALLY HOT OUTSIDE ( 90+ ) THE LIGHT WILL COME ON QUICKLY, WHEN ITS COOLER IT MAY COME ON LATER IN THE DAY, OR AFTER DRIVING FURTHER. *TR
DRIVING AT 60MPH, GOT TO STOP SIGN AND TRIED TO STOP AND THE BRAKE PEDAL SANK TO THE GROUND, I PULLED EMERGENCY BRAKE AND PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD JUST MISSING CAR IN FRONT OF ME. TRIED TO PUMP BRAKES AND JUST SANK TO GROUND EACH TIME. I CHECKED BRAKE FLUID AND IT WAS FULL. DROVE BACKWARDS A FEW TIMES AND HIT BRAKES TO STOP TO ADJUST REAR BRAKES, NOT MUCH CHANGE. PUMPED BRAKES MANY TIMES AND SEEM TO WORK AFTER A FEW PUMPS. DROVE A BIT FORWARD AND TO STOP HAD TO PUMP BRAKES AND THEY WORKED. DROVE HOME AND BRAKE PEDAL SANK TO GROUND, BUT PUMPING HELPED. AFTER DRIVING OVER 15MIN, BRAKES NOW WORK FINE. TOOK TO GARAGE AND THE ARE NOT SURE WHAT PROBLEM IS. THEY WANT TO CHANGE THE ABS MODULE. THE ABS LIGHT IS NOW ON? DID NOT NOTICE THE ABS LIGHT ON BEFORE. NOT SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE. IS THERE A RECALL FOR THIS? CAN'T ENTER AN ADDRESS FROM CANADA, PICKED A STATE AND ZIP TO ENTER MY INFO. THANKS *TR
2002 FORD WINDSTAR AXLE REPAIR FAILED. GOLF MILL FORD IN NILES, IL REPAIRED MY FORD WINDSTAR IN LATE 2010 AFTER INSPECTING IT. GOLF MILL DECIDED TO PATCH AND NOT REPLACE THE AXLE. ON JULY 6 THE TIRE KICKED OUT AND STARTED TO SLIDE IN PATCH BRACKET. I CALLED FORD AND THEY INSTRUCTED ME TO TAKE TO ORIGINAL DEALER WHO DONE REPAIRED AND TO KEEP ALL RECEIPTS FOR WORK DONE FOR POSSIBLE REIMBURSEMENT. DEALER LOOKED AT AXLE AND SAID THEY HAVE HAD SIMILAR FIELD PROBLEMS AND FORD HAS BEEN REPLACING THE AXLE AND REPAIRED HAD INTERNAL CODE STATING THEY AXLE REPAIR DID NOT "EXPIRE". WHEN THE REPAIR REQUEST WAS SUBMITTED TO FORD FOR AUTHORIZATION, FORD DECLINED. THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS SHOCKED AND I WAS TOLD THAT FORD SAID THE PROGRAM WAS DECLINED FOR THE PROGRAM MET ITS OBLIGATION AND I WAS TOLD TO KEEP THE RECEIPT FOR IT WOULD BE NECESSARY FOR FUTURE REIMBURSEMENTS. GOLF MILL FORD IN NILES, IL MADE THE REPAIR AND "GOOD DEAL" LABOR RATE TO ASSIST IN THE BILL AND FOR THIS I THANK THEM. HOWEVER, I AM SHOCKED THE FORD IS AWARE OF FIELD FAILURES IN A POORLY DESIGNED FIELD FIX AND HAS CHOSEN NOT TO PROPERLY REMEDY THE FIRST ATTEMPT AT A FIX. I HAVE PICTURES IF NECESSARY! *TR
ABS COMES ON IMMEDIATELY UPON PUTTING THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND DRIVING FOR A COUPLE SECONDS. I CAN HEAR A NOISE AND THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON. *TR

BRAKING DISTANCE SUDDENLY INCREASED WITH BOTH RED BRAKE AND AMBER ABS LIGHTS CAME ON. THAT WAS SCARY AND I BARELY COULD STOP THE VEHICLE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENED MANY TIMES SINCE THEN.
THE LIGHTS COME ON AFTER A FEW MILES OF OPERATION AND STAY ON UNTIL THE ENGINE IS SHOUT OFF. THE NEXT TIME THE ENGINE IS STARTED THE CAR WILL TRAVEL A FEW MILES AND THE LIGHTS WILL COME ON AGAIN. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE RECEIVED THE RECALL REPAIR FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V195000 (SUSPENSION) AND INDICATED THAT THE REINFORCEMENT BRACKET ON THE REAR AXLE DID NOT SUPPORT THE FRAME AND THE REINFORCEMENT BRACKET FRACTURED AS WELL AS THE REAR AXLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
ABS LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT HAVE BEEN ON FOR MONTHS OFF AND ON. HAVE A SLIGHT BRAKE FLUID LEAK. WAS BACKING INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND THE O/D LIGHT CAME ON AND STARTED FLASHING, THE ODOMETER WENT BLANK, SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING AND THE A/C BEGAN BLOWING HOT AIR. CHECKED FUSE #10 AND FOUND IT WAS BLOWN. REPLACED FUSE #10. ODOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER WORK BUT OTHER LIGHTS STILL ON. HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VAN LOOKED AT TOMORROW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD WINDSTAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE SQUEAKED WHILE COMPLETING A TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 167,000. *TR
MY SPEEDOMETER, ABS LIGHT, AND O/D OFF LIGHT ALL ARE ON. THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID EVERYWHERE. I REPLACED THE BOTTOM PART WITH A FACTORY FORD PART. THE LEAKING HAS STOPPED, HOWEVER THE BRAKE FLUID LEAKED ALL OVER AND HAS CAUSED SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE FOR THIS AND REPLACE ALL COMPUTERS AND PARTS THAT WERE AFFECTED BY . *TR
THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON OCCASIONALLY. I CHECKED FOR ABS CODES AND FOUND C1185 AND MANY OTHER CODES. AFTER SOME ONLINE RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT THIS PROBLEM IS USUALLY CAUSED BY A FAULTY ABS CONTROL MODULE. I NEVER KNOW WHEN THE SYSTEM WILL MALFUNCTION SO, WILL HAVE KNOW WAY OF KNOWING IF THE ABS SYSTEM WILL WORK WHEN IT IS NEEDED. *TR
DURING NORMAL DRIVING BOTH THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT WILL COME ON AND STAY ON. THEY DON'T ALWAYS COME ON BUT IF THEY DO THEY DON'T SHUT OFF TILL YOU TURN THE IGNITION OFF. WE NEVER KNOW IF IT'S A REAL BRAKE PROBLEM OR JUST AN ELECTRICAL GLITCH. *TR
YELLOW ABS LIGHT AND RED BRAKE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. ABS SYSTEM IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD WINDSTAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND TURNING SIGNALS FAILED. MY ABS LIGHT & TRACTION LIGHT ARE NOW ON. ALSO, NEEDLES JUMP ON DASH {ODOMETER, SPEEDOMETER, FUEL & HEAT LEVEL} AND CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK ANY LONGER {THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE RECEIVING MY VAN BACK FROM THE FORD GARAGE AFTER 7 MONTHS FROM THE AXLE RECALL REPAIR OVER A YEAR AGO}. TRIED TO BLEED MY BRAKES AFTER REPLACING PADS AND CALIPER BUT CANNOT BLEED FRONT LEFT OR REAR RIGHT. WAS TOLD BY A FORD MECHANIC THAT THIS MAY BE A PROBLEM IN THE ABS MODULE. AS PERTAINING TO A FORD RECALL IN OCTOBER, 2009, ALL OF THE ABOVE PROBLEMS MAY BE CONNECTED TO THIS RECALL. MY VAN WAS INSPECTED AND NOTHING WAS DONE TO IT BECAUSE, AT THE TIME, BECAUSE IT WAS DEEMED SAFE. I HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE ELECTRICAL TAPE ON THE WIRING HARNESS THAT THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO BE INSPECTING BECAUSE IT WAS FALLING OFF DUE TO BRAKE FLUID ON IT (REASON FOR SAID RECALL}. I PLAN ON CALLING THE GARAGE IN THE AM TO HAVE THEM REINSPECT MY VAN FOR THIS RECALL BECAUSE I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE ANY MORE PARTS IN IT. I HAVE PUT A LOT INTO IT JUST SINCE GETTING IT BACK AFTER THE AXLE RECALL BECAUSE IT DETERIORATED SITTING IN THEIR DRIVEWAY FOR THE WINTER DUE TO SALT. I HOPE NOBODY ELSE IS GOING THROUGH THIS. I WAS TAKING THE KIDS TO THE PARK TODAY FOR A BIRTHDAY PARTY AND I NOTICE MY ABS AND MY BRAKE LIGHTS WHERE ON WHILE DRIVING. I PULLED OF TO SIDE OF THE ROAD PUT THE VAN IN PARK AND SHUT IT OFF. I STARTED THE VAN AN IT WAS OFF THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPEN. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE FRONT END AND LOWER CONTROL ARM SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED, INSTEAD OF ADDING BRACKETS. THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL WAS NOT CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE FRONT END CRADLE WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN I NOTICED MY 2002 FORD WINDSTAR WAS SWAYING LIKE IT DID THE FIRST TIME WHEN THE AXLE BROKE AND IT WAS REPLACED AND THEN THAT ONE WAS REINFORCED. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD MY AXLE WAS BROKEN. SO NOW THE ORIGINAL AXLE BROKE AND WAS REPLACED. THAT AXLE WAS REINFORCED, AND NOW HAS ALSO BROKEN. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. *TR
