The contact stated while driving at 2-3 MPH around a curve, the contact steered to the left and the vehicle made an abnormal sound. While turning left, the front passenger's side tire inadvertently moved to the right. The vehicle stopped and failed to move. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was determined that the inner tie rod had fractured and detached. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V447000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
