DEC 2018 MY ACADIA WAS LEFT AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF WHITMORE CHEVROLET IN WEST POINT VA 23181 FOR A DIAGNOSIS. MY VEHICLE RAN WHEN I LEFT IT THERE. OVER A MONTH LATER INCLUDING ILLEGAL ACTIVITY IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT I GET MY VEHICLE BACK AND IT IS DEAD. I WOULD START MY VEHICLE AND DRIVE AWAY SOMETIME STOPPING SOON OR RANDOMLY ON THE ROAD. IT'S DONE THAT SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE THREE CHILDREN TOO. I NEED MY VEHICLE LOOKED AT AND THE POSSIBLE RECALLS FIXED. I AM WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION AND IT'S UNBEARABLE. I AM A MOTHER OF THREE WONDERFUL SONS AND WE NEED OUR VEHICLE TO RUN PLEASE!!!MY REVIEW IS IN THE PICTURES AS WELL
STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN YOU TRY TO MAKE A TURN. HAS HAPPENED OFTEN OVER A FEW MONTHS. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION
P0017 AND P0008 ERROR CODES: MY WIFE LOVES HER ACADIA! DEALERSHIP HAS DONE RECALLS, REPLACED RACK AND PINION AND PS PUMP. I AM CLOSE TO POSITIVE THAT ECM HAS BEEN MODIFIED TO SHORTEN OIL CHANGE, TO NOT DEFINE A CHAIN POTENTIAL FAILURE THAT SENDS AN ERROR CODE, AND UPDATE SOFTWARE TO ALLOW FOR MORE "SLOP" IN CLEARANCE SPECS SO THAT CHAIN ISSUES ARE CONCEALED UNTIL A CRITICAL FAILURE OF EQUIPMENT. AT 121K I DROPPED CRADLE DOWN TO REPAIR/REPLACE WAVE PLATE. PLATE WAS GOOD AS NEW. MUST HAVE GOTTEN A "GOOD" PLATE. NOW AT ABOUT 140K I HAVE THE P0017 AND P0008 CODES. ENGINE NOT RESPONDING ACCELERATOR WISE AS BEFORE. I AM GOING BACK TO DEALER AND ASK TO SEE SERVICE RECORD OF WHAT WAS DONE TO ENGINE. I KNOW I WILL JUST BE WASTING MY TIME. TO COVER UP A PROBLEM BY MESSING WITH PARAMETERS ON AN ENGINE TO FOOL A CUSTOMER IS CLOSE TO BEING DISHONEST, AND THAT IS WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH THE CHAINS. IF ALL ELSE FAILS AT THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SEND ME AWAY, I WILL PARK THE ACADIA IN THE GARAGE AND DO MY BEST TO REPLACE THE CHAINS AND GEARS WITH THE ENGINE IN VEHICLE. I HAVE NO WAY TO DROP THE ENGINE OUT. I CAN'T AFFORD $4000 FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO DO IT. GM, I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A LOYAL FAN ON YOUR VEHICLES, AND HAVE ONLY OWNED CHEVY'S AND GMC'S SINCE 1965, NEVER OWNED ANY OTHER BRAND, EXCEPT A 1947 JEEP UNIVERSAL THAT I PUT A SMALL BLOCK IN, BUT THIS ACADIA TRANSMISSION/ENGINE ISSUE MIGHT JUST TEST OUR RELATIONSHIP IN THE FUTURE. WHAT I HAVE READ ON SOCIAL MEDIA, THESE CODES ARE POPPING UP ALL OVER THE PLACE, AND GM IS NOT CARING, EVEN THO THEY NOW HAVE A 10 YR/120,000 COVERAGE. I AM BEGINNING TO THINK THAT THIS ISSUE WILL NEVER BE RESOLVED IN FAVOR OF THE CUSTOMER. DESIGN PROBLEM AND POOR BACK VALVE COVER VENTING. GM, YOU CAN DO THE RIGHT THING HERE.
THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT AIRBAG TURNS ON WITH NO ONE AND NOTHING IN THE SEAT. I HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE THAT ELECTRICAL DEVICES CAN TURN IT ON BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE, I CAN HAVE NOTHING IN THE SEAT AND IT TURNS ON AND DINGS WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS A DISTRACTION. AS FOR THE ENGINE, I HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ONE WHICH MAKES IT WHERE THE REMOTE START WILL NOT WORK. WHEN WE PULLED THE CODES IT COMES BACK TO THE THE TIMING CHAIN WHICH IS A KNOWN ISSUE BECAUSE THEY HAVE A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON IT.
I LEASED MY 2009 GMC ACADIA ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO, IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. I BOUGHT AS IS SO DEALER WOULD NOT RETURN MY CALLS THAT HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH PROBLEMS. FIRST, NOT EVEN 3 WEEKS AFTER I LEASED THE VEHICLE THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STARTED TO GO, MY DRIVER WINDOW STOPPED WORKING, MY BACK HATCH WELL I CAN'T EVEN OPEN IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO KEY TO OPEN NOR IS THERE A BUTTON ANYWHERE THE MECHANICS SAID I NEED TO TAKE IT TO AN ELECTRICAL MECHANIC...WONDER HOW MUCH THAT WILL COST?, MY STABILTRAK SYSTEM CONSTANTLY FLASHES. THE ENGINE BURNS UP TOO MUCH OIL EVEN AFTER AN OIL CHANGE WITHIN 3WEEKS I NEED TO PUT OIL, I DO NOT DRIVE FAR NOR ALOT. TO WORK AND BACK. IT WILL COST MORE TO FIX THIS TRUCK THAN WHAT IT IS WORTH NOW I'M STUCK WITH $5,000 LEFT ON A VEHICLE THAT IS A PIECE OF POOP. WHEN I DRIVE THE TRUCK PULLS AS IF THE ENGINE CANNOT GET THE TRUCK GOING. I CAN'T TURN OFF THE TRUCK WHILE PUTTING GAS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WONT TURN OVER ONCE THE GAS HAS BEEN PUT IN AND STARTED. THE MECHANIC SAID ITS THE TRANS EVAP SYSTEM. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW GMC CAN GET AWAY WITH MANUFACTURING VEHICLES LIKE THIS WITH NO CONCERN FOR THE CUSTOMERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC ACADIA. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE MISFIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS FLUID INSIDE THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 151,000.
I JUST GOT MY GMC 4 MONTHS AGO AND AFTER EVERY LIGHT AND ALARM HAS GONE OFF THE LEAK OF POWER STEERING FLUID HAS CAUSE ME TO TAKE TO A DEALER AND I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A $2600 BILL TO REPLACE THE RACK AND PINION AND PUMP. THIS IS NOT JUST AN ISSUED WITH MY GMC MY SISTER HAS A 2011 ACADIA AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS FOR SURE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AS THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT.
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, WILL START BUT IT DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THAT IT HAS OR CORDS AREN'T CONNECTING AND IT WON'T SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR-JUST MAKES A CLICKING SOUND-SHIFT LEVER. LIFT GATE/BACK HATCH WON'T STAY UP AND KEEPS FALLING DOWN. POWER/ELECTRICAL ISSUES INVOLVING THE TRANSMISSION WAS DRIVING, AT A RED LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE JUST STOPPED WORKING AND I COULDN'T EVEN GET IT STARTED AGAIN. THERE HAS BEEN ONGOING ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE.
I OWN A GMC ACADIA 2009. I PURCHASED IT IN MARCH OF 2018 WITH 136,402 MILES ON IT. FIRST THAT WENT WAS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, SECOND MY STABLILTRAK SYSTEM AND TRACTION SYSTEM SAID MY BREAK WAS ON WHEN IT WASN'T, THRID WAS MY RIGHT REAR TIRE PRESSURE WAS "LOW" AND IT WAS NOT AND FOURTH MY BATTERY STARTED GOING LOW WHILE DRIVING IT. WHILE I NOTICED ALL THESE MAJOR ISSUES I NOTICED MY RADIO DOESN'T WORK RIGHT, THE LEFT SIDE OF MY CAR HAS NO VOLUME IN THE SPEAKERS AND MY LIGHTS AREN'T WORKING RIGHT. ONE BULB ON FRONT IS OUT AND I NOTICED THEY WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF WHENEVER THEY WANTED AND THEN NEVER AGAIN SHORTLY AFTER. THE BACK ON JUST FILLED WITH WATER FOR NO REASON AND BURNT MY BULBS OUT BEFORE I REALIZED IT WAS FILLED TO THE TOP. I'VE OWNED IT FOR 6 MONTHS AND ALREADY HAVE THOUSANDS WORTH OF DOLLARS IN REPAIRS.
MY CLOCK SPRING BROKE CAUSING THE CRUISE CONTROL TO STOP, MY SUSPENION ON MY CAR IS GOING OUT AT 167,000 MILES MALING THE CAR RIDE HORRIBLY, AND APPARENTLY THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE WAVE PLATE IN THE TRANSMISSION THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BUT NOONE WANTS TO DO ANYTHING I WAS DRIVING THE MOMENTS THESE OCCURED
TAKATA RECALL. WE HAVE REPEATEDLY REQUESTED THAT THE DEALERSHIP REPLACE THE AIRBAGS BUT WE ARE UNABLE TO GET A REPLACEMENT. WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR DEMANDING A LOANER VEHICLE UNTIL OUR SUV CAN BE REPAIRED? THANKS!
MY 2009 GMC ACADIA WAS SITTING IN MY MOTHERS DRIVEWAY, WHEN A NEIGHBORHOOD CAME AND SAID MY CAR WAS ON FIRE. IT WAS NOT RUNNING AND NO SIGNS OF ARSON. THE VEHICLE INSIDE ALMOST COMPLETELY BURNT, WITH MOST OF THE DAMAGE BEING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, STEERING WELL, DOOR, AND DASHBOARD. THE SUV LITERALLY JUST CAUGHT FIRE IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE CLEVELAND FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND HAD TO PUT THE FLAMES OUT. AFTER RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THERE WAS AN RECALL IN 2010 FROM GMC NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10V240000. HEATED WINDSHIELD MODULE SHORT CIRCUIT. THIS RECALL WAS FOR 2007-2009 GMC'S
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AT START-UP AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED CONSTANTLY. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V118000 (AIR BAGS). TOTH BUICK-GMC (3300 S ARLINGTON RD, AKRON, OH 44312, (330) 644-3400) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
CAM ACTUATOR WENT BAD MAKES THE CAR SOUND LIKE A TRACTOR STARTS UP VERY LOUD AND MOTOR SOUNDS HORRIBLE ENGINE MAKES EXHAUST PIPES VERY LOUD. VERY LOUD ENGINE PERIOD.
ENGINE WILL NOT SHUT DOWN WHEN KEY IS REMOVED AND CRUISE CONTROL ISN'T WORKING
2009 GMC ACADIA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, STEERING WHEEL POWER AND FAULTY BRAKES. *LD THE CONSUMER THE LIFTGATE AND LAMP WERE REPAIED UNDER RECALL, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONSUMER DID NOT RECIEVE NOTIFICATION FOR THE RECALLS CONCERNING THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, AND TIMING CHAIN. *JS
TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL GMC DEALER FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AT 159,879 MILES. DEALER SAYS TIMING CHAIN IS MAKING NOISE AND GOING BAD. ESTIMATED REPAIR COST, $3,600. NOISE IS HEARD WHEN ENGINE IS STARTED AND SUBSIDES A LITTLE WHEN DRIVING.
TRANSMISSION ENGINE SEAT BELTS HEADLIGHTS NOT EVEN A MONTH INTO PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IT STOPPED AS I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY.
BOUGHT A 2009 GMC ACADIA IN FEBRUARY HAD IT FOR 2 WEEKS AND WAS PULLING OUT OF A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT GETTING MY 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER SOME FOOD AS I WAS PULLING OUT I LOST ALL POWER STEERING. I COULD NOT GET MY SUV TO TURN I BARELY BUMPED A CAR THANK GOODNESS IT DID NOT DO ANY DAMAGE AND NO ONE WAS INJURED BUT THIS IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING GM NEEDS TO FIX!! I AM A SINGLE MOTHER AND CAN NOT AFFORD TO HAVE THIS FIXED ESPECIALLY AFTER SPEND 10,900 ON PURCHASING THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLAMPS INDEPENDENTLY FAILED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 20 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
DASH HAS TWO CRACKS IN IT THAT LEAD TO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG
THE CAR BEGAN MISFIRING SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED IT. HAD IT REPAIRED. SPARK PLUGS AND FUEL INJECTOR CAPS REPLACED. IT'S BEEN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AND AGAIN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT GEARS OR ACCELERATE. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO N THE EXPRESSWAY. I DRIVE MY CHILDREN IN THIS CAR! CAR THREATENS TO DIE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE.
THE 3.6L ENGINES HAVE AN ISSUE WITH TIMING CHAINS GOING BAD, POSSIBLY BREAKING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC ACADIA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING AT A STOP SIGN, THE ENGINE INDEPENDENTLY REVVED AND THE RPMS INCREASED. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. ALSO, WHEN THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS PLACED IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT WITH UPGRADED PARTS. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. *TT
TAKATA RECALL: I'M HAVING IDLE/STALLING ISSUES WITH MY 2009 GMC ACADIA. CAR CUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD. FIRST, I HAD MY CAR INSPECTED BY LOCAL LICENSED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED A TIMING CHAIN ISSUE AND CAT CONVERTER ISSUE. I FOLLOWED BY CALL A GMC DEALER AND INFORMING THEM OF MY CAR PROBLEMS. THEY SCHEDULED MY CAR FOR AN INSPECTION SINCE THEY HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR TIMING CHAINS. THEY INSPECTED MY VEHICLE AND INFORMED ME SINCE THE TIMING CHAIN WASN'T MAKING NOISES THEY WOULDN'T DIAGNOSE IT AS A PROBLEM. THEY RELEASED MY CAR WITHOUT FIXING IT AND MY CAR STILL CUTS OFF AND IDLES WHILE DRIVING. THEY ALSO TOLD ME ABOUT MANY OTHER ISSUES FOUND DURING THE DIAGNOSTIC TOTALING OVER $8000 IN REPAIRS. I CALLED AND COMPLAINED TO GMC AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEIR ARE ACTUALLY MANY OTHER ADDITIONAL PARTS WARRANTY'S/COVERAGES THAT THEY HAVE AND MAY BE ABLE TO ASSIST ME WITH. I FIND THIS VERY CONCERNING AS THE GMC DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE AND SERVICE MY VEHICLE, ALONG WITH THE FACT THAT GMC HAS SECRET ADDITIONAL WANRRANTIES/COVERAGES THAT THE GENERAL PUBLIC DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT MY CAR WAS IN THE GMC DEALER SHOP FOR 4 DAYS AND THEY REFUSED TO ASSIST ME WITH A LOANER VEHICLE WHILE MY CAR WAS BEING INSPECTED. THEY RELEASED MY VEHICLE AND NOW I'M BACK TO SQUARE ONE WITH THE SAME ISSUES AND NEW LIST OF SUPPOSEDLY FOUND CAR ISSUES ESTIMATING OVER $8,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V415000 (STRUCTURE); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INLCUDED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000.
THE CASINGS TO THE SEATBELTS IN THE 2ND ROW HAVE COME OFF ALONG WITH A LOT OF OTHER PLASTIC CASING SUCH AS THE FLOOR VENT IN THE BACK, THE FRONT SEAT RECLINING KNOB AND OTHERS. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM RELATED TO THE SPEAKER WIRES AND THE POWER DOOR LOCKS AND WINDOWS ARE DYSFUNCTIONAL. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON NOT SURE IF IT IS FROM THE RECALL
AT LOW SPEEDS, THE POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY CUTS OUT. THE STEERING WHEEL ALMOST SEEMS TO LOCK UP.
EVERY TIME IT RAINS WATER ENTERS IN TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF THE VEHICLE FROM AN UNKNOWN LOCATION AND CAUSES PROBLEMS. IT DRAINS THE BATTERY, SHORTS OUT THE RADIO AND DIRECTIONAL SIGNALS AND SOUNDS. IT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO CONTINUOUSLY RUN EVEN WHEN THE KEY IS REMOVED. MY MECHANIC CLEANS OUT THE SUNROOF DRAINS EVERY 3,000 MILES KNOWING THAT COULD BE A CAUSE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS. AFTER EVERY RAIN MY WIFE OR I HAVE TO REMOVE THE WIRING HARNESS THAT CONNECTS THE REAR DOORS AND THE BODY TO DRAIN THE WATER THAT HAS GATHERED IN THE RUBBER BOOT. THERE IS ALSO WATER THAT OCCASIONALLY FALLS ON THE FOOT OF THE DRIVER FROM UNDER THE DASH WHILE DRIVING, AGAIN FROM AN UNKOWN LOCATION. MY ASSUMPTION IS THE WATER IS ENTERING WHEN IT IS STATIONARY AND MOVING.
I BOUGHT THE CAR ON MARCH 21ST OF 2017 CAR SEEMED TO BE RUNNING AND DRIVING FINE( SHIFTING AND DRIVING SMOOTH) AND ON APRIL 10TH 2017 I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK I HAVE A APPROX 12 MILE DRIVE ONE WAY COMMUTE TO MY WORK PLACE AND I NOTICED ALL OF THE SUDDEN WHN TRANS WAS SHIFTING GEARS IT WOULD SLIP A LITTLE BIT SO I DROVE IT IN A MANNER TO WHERE THE SLIPPING WAS MINIMAL AND AFTER WORK WHEN I PUT IN REVERSE IT WAS SLIPPING WORSE THAN WHAT IT WAS THAT MORNING IN DRIVE I DROVE IT HOME SO AT MOST FROM THE TIME THE PROBLEM STARTED IT WAS DROVE LESS THAN 20 MILES BUT BY THE TIME I GOT HOME TWO BLOCKS AWAY FROM MY HOUSE I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND TRANS COMPLETELY STOPPED PULLING CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL LUCKILY I WAS ON SMALL INCLINE AND THERE WAS NO OTHER VEHICLES BEHIND ME SO I WAS ABLE TO PUT IN REVERSE AND GET THE CAR OUT OF THE ROAD SO I CALLED THE CAR LOT WHERE I HAD BOUGHT THE CAR AND THEY SAID TO NOT GET TO EXITED THAT IT COULD JUST B A SENSOR SOMETHING SMALL THAT THEY WOULD SEND A TOW TRUCK TO PICK IT UP AND TAKE TO MECHANIC SHOP AND WE GO FROM THERE WE'LL NOW ON APRIL 12 WE WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY SHOT AND IT WAS COULD B UPWARDS TO 3500$ FOR USED TRANSMISSION THAT HAD 76KMILES THAT ALSO INCLUDES INSTALLATION OF TRANSMISSION I'M NOT COMFORTABLE WITH PAYING THAT MUCH FOR USED TRANSMISSION THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M GETTING AND ALSO NO WARRANTY ON OR GUARANTEE I BOUGHT THE THE CAR AS IS BUT I TRADED IN MY 03 TAHOE STILL A VERY DEPENDABLE SUV AND I ALSO PUT 5000 $ CASH DOWN ON THIS ACADIA AND NOW THIS THE DEALER SAYS HE WILL NEED 2000$ UP FRONT AND HE WILL PAY THE REST OF IT AND WHATEVER THAT AMOUNT IS THAT HE WOULD PUT IT ON TOP OF WHAT HE HAD ALREADY FINANCED BECAUSE (HE WANTS TO HELP OUT) NO HELP OTHER THAN NOT HAVING TO COME UP WITH THE WHOLE 3500$ AT ONCE. 9/2014 AT 93,000 MILES TRANSMISSION FAILED. DEALER CONFIRMED GMC AGREED TO PAY 60% OF REPAIR, BUT LATER AFTER TRANSMISSION, WAVE PLATE RECALL I WAS REIMBURSED. 2/2017 133,000 MILES NEW REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION IS FAILING AGAIN IN 3RD GEAR WITH SAME INTERNAL FAILURE CODE PER MY SERVICE PERSON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING SENSOR ILLUMINATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SERVICED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 135,149.
LIFTGATE OPENS ON IS OWN WHILE DRIVING, DOOR UNLOCK AND CANNOT BE LOCKED THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A MONTH. I WILL HAPPEN SEVERAL TIME A DAY.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHEN RPMS ARE LOW. IN MY INCIDENT I WAS TRANSITIONING FROM ONE FREEWAY TO ANOTHER MAKING A RIGHT TURN ABOUT 40 MPH. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS TO TAKE THE TURN SLOWLY. AS MY RPM WENT DOWN MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN RIGHT ANY MORE. THE WHEEL GOT STUCK IN THE LAST POSITION BEFORE I LET GO OF THE GAS. I HAD TO GIVE IT GAS TO MAKE THE VEHICLE POWER STEERING WORK AGAIN. MY CONCERN WITH THIS IS NOT THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED BUT THAT STEERING IN GENERAL WAS LOCKING. I HAVE DRIVEN CARS WITH OUT POWER STEERING AND NEVER HAVE TO WORRY MY WHEEL WILL LOCK. THE DEALER SAYS I NEED A NEW POWER STEERING PUMP. BUT AGAIN IT SHOULD NOT LOCK MY TURN. I HAD TO GIVE IT GAS TO GET THE RPM UP AND THEN IT WOULD TURN. ONCE OF THE FREEWAY AT THE STOP LIGHT I TRIED TURNING THE WHEEL AND IT WOULD NOT TURN. ONCE I GAVE IT GAS WE WERE FINE. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD TURNING. MY RESEARCH HAS FOUND MANY ISSUES WITH ACADIA STEERING PUMP. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUES THAT COULD OF CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT.
2009 ACADIA. CONSUMER WRITES SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR VEHICLE REPAIRS. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL INJECTOR FAILED WHILE DRIVING CAUSING GAS TO DUMP INTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND LEAK OUT OF THE MUFFLER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. UPDATED 11/24/2017*JS
WE'VE HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUES BEGINNING ABOUT 2 YEARS AFTER BUYING THE ACADIA. CURRENTLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. WE HAD IT CHECKED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THE PROBLEM WAS PROBABLY PART OF THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. WELL, IT WASN'T. NOW THE STEERING IS DIFFICULT (AND LOCKS UP AT LOW SPEED TURNS) AND THE STABILITREK MESSAGE COMES ON. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT WE NEED TO PAY FOR REPAIRS TO SERVICE THE BRAKE SYSTEM, STABILITREK MESSAGE, REPLACE THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER, AND REPAIR THE TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM LIGHT AND SENSOR. THEY THINK THIS MAY FIX THE STEERING ISSUE, BUT IF NOT THEN THEY'LL LOOK MORE INTO THAT! I KNOW THERE ARE AT LEAST 195 SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THIS YEAR MODEL ACADIA. WE BOUGHT IT NEW. IT'S SEVEN YEARS OLD WITH LOW MILEAGE. THEY SAID IT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE EXCEPT IN TOWN AT LOW SPEEDS. I FEEL LIKE WE'RE BEING GIVEN THE RUN-AROUND BY GM VIA OUR DEALERSHIP. IT'S NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT (OTHER THAN KNOCKING OFF THE SIDE MIRROR UPON EXITING THE GARAGE), AND IT'S NOT DRIVEN IN A ROUGH-SHOD MANNER. UGH! I'VE OWNED SEVERAL VEHICLES, NEW AND USED, AND NEVER HAD TROUBLE LIKE THIS. MY DAUGHTER IS THE PRIMARY DRIVER OF THE ACADIA, SO SAFETY IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
OUR 2009 GMC ACADIA WAS TAKEN TO GMC DEALERSHIP ON DECEMBER 2, 2016 WITH NOISES COMING FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHEN STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT, EITHER STANDING STILL OR MOVING. SERVICE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE BILL WAS $1,466.00. THE ACADIA HAS 31,068 MILES ON IT, AND MY WIFE IS NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR FEAR THE STEERING MAY GO OUT AGAIN. *TR
IN VERY COLD WEATHER (UNDER 20 DEGREES F) AND IN WET CONDITIONS (RAIN/CARWASH) THE REAR TURN SIGNALS DO NOT WORK AND IT APPEARS THE BREAKS PEDAL IS ENGAGED (LIGHTS ARE BRIGHT). ALSO IN THE SAME CONDITIONS, THE BACK UP CAMERA IMAGES STAYS ON FOR A MINUTE OR MORE EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING FORWARD. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE TURNS WARM AND THE VEHICLE HAS A CHANCE TO DRY THE PROBLEMS GOES AWAY. IT STARTED IN WINTER 2016 AND RETURNED WINTER 2017.
LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT CONNECTOR IS HEATING UP TOO MUCH AND BURNING. MELTING HEAD LAMP REFLECTOR.
THERE IS AN ONGOING AND UNRESOLVED ISSUE CONCERNING THE POWER STEERING RACK AND PUMP ON GM LAMBDA CHASSIS VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE WILL INTERMITTENTLY AND UNPREDICTABLY LOSE POWER STEERING ASSIST CREATING AN INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. WHILE UNDER WARRANTY THE FACTORY QUIETLY SUPPORTED MULTIPLE REPAIRS OF THE SAME COMPONENTS- RATHER THAN RECALL THIS SITUATION GM CHOSE TO CONTINUE TO USE THEIR SUPPLY OF DEFICIENT COMPONENTS WHILE THEY SEEMED TO "WAIT OUT" THE WARRANTY AND THUS NO LONGER BE LIABLE.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 105,000 MILES CAR IS BEING REPAIRED BOBS TRANSMISSION, GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN
MY VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING ON A SIDE HIGHWAY, AND WAS UNABLE TO BE JUMP STARTED. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND FOUND THE ECM WAS BAD. MECHANIC CALLED DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS TO PRICE AN ECM, AND WAS TOLD BY EACH DEALERSHIP THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. HE WAS INFORMED THAT EVEN WITH A NEW ECM INSTALLED, IT MAY GO OUT IN ANOTHER YEAR.
MY CAR COMPLETELY DIED WHILE DRIVING IT A FEW MONTHS BACK. JUST GOT IT BACK AFTER ABOUT 3 MONTHS, PARTIAL SUCKY DEALERSHIP, PARTIAL BACK ORDER ISSUE. TURNS OUT THE SUNROOF LEAKED INTO THE DASH. HAD TO REPLACE THE BODY HARNESS AND SOMETHING WITH THE DASH. $5100. I ESTIMATED ON THE DATE IT HAPPENED BECAUSE IT'S BEEN AWHILE.

IN AUGUST MY CAR WOULDN'T START AND I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT NEEDED A TIMING CHAIN WHICH WAS RECALLED. THEY CONTACTED GM AND THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT COVER THIS BECAUSE IT WAS FIXED 15,000 MILES AGO. I THEN CALLED GM AND THEY GAVE ME A CHECK FOR $990.00 IN WHICH IT ACTUALLY COST $3,200.00 TO FIX! I LOOKED ON LINE AND IT SAID THEY WOULD PAY FOR THE TIMING CHAIN UP TO 10 YEARS FROM THE DATE IN WHICH IT WAS FIRST PUT IN SERVICE FOR THE PROBLEM// OR UP TO 120,000 MILES WHICHEVER CAME FIRST. WELL, THIS CAR MAY HAVE BEEN FIXED BEFORE BUT IT DOESN'T STATE IF IT WAS FIXED BEFORE OR IF YOU WEREN'T THE ORIGINAL OWNER - IT STATES IT WILL BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. AT SOME POINT THEY REALIZED THEY WERE IN THE WRONG BECAUSE THEY GAVE ME A CHECK FOR $990.00 TOWARDS A $3,200.00 BILL." THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED OVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN DUE TO THE FAILURE AND WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PART. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND INDICATED THAT THEY ALSO HAD CAMPAIGNS THAT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED. THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST, AND THE TRANSMISSION CUTLET LEAVE PLATE FAILED. THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.

THE STEERING SEEMED OK AND THE WHINING NOISE DIDN'T SEEM THAT BAD TOO ME. APRIL 28, 2016 - MY WIFE SAID THE NOISE WAS LOUDER SO I TEST DROVE IT AGAIN, THIS TIME, I EXPERIENCED A MOMENTARY LOSS OF STEERING POWER ON LOW SPEED. ONE TIME I OVERCOMPENSATED WHEN IT WAS HARD TO TURN THE WHEEL BUT AVOIDED HAVING AN ACCIDENT. I PERFORMED THE OWNER'S MANUAL CHECKS, POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL WAS GOOD. I THEN GOGGLED FOR MORE INFORMATION ONLINE ABOUT STEERING ISSUES AND HOW TO RESOLVE ON GMC 2009 ACADIA AND THEN I RAN INTO THE GMC SERVICE BULLETIN SB-10056459-3388 ONLINE. THE BULLETIN DESCRIBED THE INTERMITTENT POWER LOSS WE EXPERIENCED. THE CONDITION IS DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS "VEHICLES MAY DEVELOP A POWER STEERING PUMP WEAR CONDITION THAT CAN CAUSE AN INTERMITTENT DROP OF POWER STEERING HYDRAULIC PRESSURE THAT WILL CAUSE REDUCED OR LOSS OF STEERING ASSIST. THE VEHICLE MAY REVERT TO MANUAL STEERING WHICH REQUIRES GREATER DRIVER EFFORT, PARTICULARLY AT LOW VEHICLE SPEEDS". I CALLED OUR LOCAL GM'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR AN EVALUATION BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALLBACK YET. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE I BELIEVE, IF NOT RESOLVED, MAY TURN OUT TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE FOR US.
