Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)The engine is not shifting properly, and the vehicle loses speed while driving and hesitates to accelerate. At time, it feels as though the car is not moving at all. This issue has occurred on multiple occasions, affecting both me and my family, and has forced us to pull over because the vehicle could barely move forward. This happed once on the highway and almost caused an accident. Additionally, the check engine light remains on at all times.

BAD SHIFTING IN TRANSMISSION WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN OR COME TO A STOP AND TURN RIGHT AND ACCELERATE AT THE SAME TIME. THIS HAPPENS ON THE 2014 AND 2015 MODELS, TRANMISSION WILL STUTTER AND ABRUPTLY SHIFT INTO A LOWER GEAR. ON THE ACADIA FORUMS IT IS DOCUMENTED BY OTHER OWNERS AS WELL (APPROX 30-50 OTHER OWNERS). THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS A REPROGRAM TO ACCOUNT FOR THIS ISSUE. GM APPEARS TO NOT BE DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS COMMON ISSUE.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
