TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC CANYON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONE STUD BROKE OFF OF EACH TIRE ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AND REAR DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE TIRES WERE ROTATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT WHEN THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE WAS BEING MADE IT APPEARED THAT GMC WAS GETTING LOW QUALITY STEEL FROM JAPAN. THIS FAILURE HAS NOT OCCURRED ON ANY OTHER YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL CANYON. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22000. UPDATED 9/13/10 *CN THE DEALER REPLACED ALL 6 LEFT FRONT WHEEL STUDS. UPDATED 09/15/10
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC CANYON. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND PULLED OFF THE ROAD. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY. HE NOTICED THAT THE TIRE TREAD ON THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE HAD SEPARATED AND THE FENDER WAS DAMAGED. AAA WAS CALLED TO CHANGE THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A BODY SHOP FOR REPAIR. THE DOT NUMBER AND PURCHASE DATE WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 40,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL STREETS OR HIGHWAY, AT ANY SPEED, A VIBRATION OCCURS FROM THE FRONT TIRES. SOUNDS AND FEELS LIKE A ROCK IS STUCK IN THE TIRE (SHIMMY). THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME VEHICLE IS DRIVEN AND SOMETIMES MORE NOTICEABLE THEN OTHERS. DEALER ROTATED TIRES AND STATE THAT NO DEFECTS WERE FOUND
DT: CONTACT STATED THE TIRES WORE OUT. THE ORIGINAL FRONT TIRES WERE REPLACED BECAUSE THEY WORE OUT FROM THE INSIDE. THE REPLACEMENT TIRES WERE ALSO WEARING OUT. THE DEALER DID NOT OFFER ANY EXPLANATION FOR THE TIRE WEAR.*AK UPDATED 12/27/05. *JB
