WHILE DRIVING THE FOURTH GEAR OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION JUMPED. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *NLM
THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING A 35 MPH FRONTAL COLLISION. *NLM
EXCESSIVE ENGINE NOISE ON MY NEW GMC SIERRA 1500 SERIES 4X4 PICKUP TRUCK. I WAS TOLD AT 5000 MILES ON MY FIRST OIL CHANGE THAT THE ENGINE SOUND WAS "NORMAL" AND THEY ALL SOUND LIKE THAT. THE DEALER, MARTIN GMC IN FENTON, MICHIGAN MADE THAT ASSERTION. *LA
THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO 4 LOW WITHOUT WARNING. *JB

NON DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAG IN GMC SIERRA EXTENDED CAB P/U TRUCK 1500C SERIES 2003 YR. *TR
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD THEN DECELERATED BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL SPEED AFTER 3 TO 4 SECONDS. THE CONSUMER HAD MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEALERSHIP. *JB WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS EMPTY, THEN IT WOULD WORK AS IT SHOULD. IF A TRAILER WAS HOOKED WITH 400 LBS, THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD GO FROM 1500 RPM TO 45 OR 4600 RPM'S FOR ABOUT 3 TO 4 SECONDS, THEN DROP DOWN TO 2600 RPM OR 3500 RPM'S DEPENDING ON THE HILL THE DRIVER WAS GOING UP AND WOULD STAY THAT RPM UNTIL THE DRIVER WAS AT THE TOP. THREE DEALERS SUGGESTED THAT THEY COULDN'T REMEDY THE PROBLEM. *SC *JB
INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER COMPONENTS FAILED THUS ALL GAUGES ON DASH BOARD WENT "FLAT"/BACK TO -0-; VEHICLE DID OPERATE HOWEVER COULD NOT EVEN READ HOW MUCH GAS WAS IN TANK. ALSO AS OF MILEAGE OF 13312 NOTICE VEHICLE BEGAN TO USE OIL, AS OF 26300 AFTER WATCHING THE VEHICLE NOTICED THAT IT WAS EXTREMELY LOW; APPARENTLY THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN LEAKING OIL ON THE INTAKE - LOOSING ALMOST 2 QUARTS OF OIL - ON A NEWER VEHICLE IT SHOULD NOT BE USING THIS MUCH OIL. *LA
THE PASSENGER SEAT DOES NOT ALLOW CONSUMER TO RIDE WITH THE AIRBAG ON. YOU HAVE TO BE 120LBS OR OVER BEFORE THE AIRBAG WORK PROPERLY. PH
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT A COUPLE OF PROBLEMS. ONE WAS TRANSMISSION. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS GEAR SLIPPED. WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR SERVICE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE CAUSE WAS LOW OIL. THE OTHER WAS FOR THE STEERING COLUMN. WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS VEHICLE KNOCKED AND SQUEAKED INTERMITTENTLY. STEERING COLUMN HAD TO BE REPLACED ONCE BEFORE FOR SAME PROBLEM. *AK
THE HIGH-BEAM INDICATOR LIGHT (BLUE) IS EXTREMELY BRIGHT AND IS SO AIMED AS TO SHINE DIRECTLY INTO THE EYES OF THE DRIVER. THIS CAUSES A SIGNIFICANT DISTRACTION DUE TO THE LIGHT SHINING DIRECTLY AT THE LEFT EYE AND ALSO GREATLY REDUCES THE VISIBILITY THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD DUE TO THE ADDITIONAL LIGHT. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO GMC VIA THE DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE LIGHT IS PART OF A CLUSTER AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX IT. THIS LIGHT IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD AND NEEDS TO BE REMEDIED. DT
SPEEDOMETER AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN ALL GUAGES AND WARNING LIGHTS FAIL. *TR
2003 GMC K2500 EXPERIENCED TIRE TREAD SEPARATION WHILE DRIVING.*MR *NM
THE 4-WHEEL LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH BOARD WHICH INDICATED THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE WAS ON, WHEN IT WAS NOT, THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE SHOP ON 6 OCCASIONS, AND THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *JB
WHEN VEHICLE WAS STOPPED ON AN INCLINE WITH GEAR PLACED IN PARK BEFORE ENGAGING PARKING BRAKE THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED IN PARK. IN ORDER TO UNLOCK IT THE CONSUMER HAD TO HAVE THE TOW TRUCK PULL THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO UNLOCK IT. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL OPERATION. TRUCK IS A 2003 GMC 1/2TON 4-WHEEL DRIVE PICKUP. *NLM
PROBLEMS WITH GMC TRUCK BEING COMPATIBLE WITH RV TRAILERS.*MR TRAILER BRAKES MAY LOCK UP RANDOMLY FOR NO APPARENT REASON, OR TRAILER BRAKES MAY NOT WORK AT ALL EVEN THOUGH THEIR TRAILING LOAD IS WIRED TO AS PRESCRIBED ON THE 7-PIN TRAILER CONNECTOR DUST CAP. *PH. THE ELECTRIC TRAILER BRAKES MAY NOT WORK IF THE HEADLAMPS OR PARK LAMP ARE TURNED OFF. *JB
THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS UNPREDICTABLE. WHILE DRIVING ON CRUISE CONTROL THE VEHICLE WILL SHIFT GEARS AND DRIVE ROUGH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER , WHO STATED THIS I WAS NORMAL. *AK
WHILE DRIVING DRIVER CAN FEEL KNOCKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL. DEALER HAD TO REPLACE A PART IN THE LOWER STEERING UNIT, BUT DID NOT INFORM THE CONSUMER OF THE PARTS NAME. *AK
WHEN THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT ILLUMINATES ON THE DASHBOARD VEHICLE FAILS TO ACCELERATE. THIS IS CAUSED BY THE TRANSFER CASE ENCODER MOTOR LOCKING IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE PART, BUT CAUSE OF THE FAILURE IS UNDETERMINED.*AK
ENGINE CHECK LIGHT KEPT COMING ON. THE EGR VALVE WAS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION AND WILL NOT CLOSE. CONSUMER WAS TOLD NOT TO PANIC, AND TO DRIVE WITH THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY ON.*AK
ON 7 SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ON. THE SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM MESSAGE ALSO ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. THE BRAKES ROTORS FAILED. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THIS WAS DUE TO THE ASBESTOS BRAKE PADS BEING USED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM
THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE TRANSFER CASE THAT RESULTED IN VEHICLE ENGAGING INTO 2-WHEEL DRIVE OR 4-WHEEL DRIVE BY ITSELF. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE FAILED PART. ALSO, FRONT DRIVESHAFT WAS LOOSE, CAUSING THE FRONT WHEEL TO VIBRATE/SHAKE.*AK
WHEN THE ABS BRAKES WERE PRESSED HARD THE STEERING LOCKED AND MADE IT DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT IT WAS THE CHARACTERISTIC OF VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP MECHANIC WILL NOT REPAIR VEHICLE BASED ON INFORMATION FROM MANUFACTURER. *AK THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE MINOR DAMAGE AS THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. THE DEALER SUGGESTED THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. THE EDGES OF THE SEAT WERE WORN. *SC
