The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where he was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT ONE OF THE CYLINDER HEADS HAD FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP, DIAGNOSTIC TESTS WERE PERFORMED. THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE REVERSE INPUT PISTON SEAL. IT WAS CUT AND NOT HOLDING PROPER PRESSURE. THE SEAL WAS REPLACED HOWEVER THE VEHICLE WAS STILL HAVING THE PROBLEM AFTER REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO 2 OTHER DEALERSHIPS WHERE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS WERE PERFORMED. THE DEALERSHIPS ARE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.
